AI Technical Summary
Existing urban mobility devices, such as scooters and skateboards, are limited by weight and range, preventing them from being practical for commuting on public roads due to safety and regulatory constraints.
Motorized skates with large diameter side wheels, weighing less than 3 kg per foot and offering a range of at least 5 km, designed to comply with highway code requirements for public road use.
The solution provides a lightweight and efficient urban mobility option that meets safety and regulatory standards, enabling safe and practical commuting on public roads.
Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Motorized skates with large diameter side wheels
[0001] Urban micro-mobility device consisting of motorized skates attached to each of the user's shoes, not exceeding 3 kg per foot including batteries, offering a range of at least 5 km and complying with the requirements of the highway code for driving on public roads.
Claims
Claims
1. Urban micro-mobility device, said device comprising, for each foot of the user: • A horizontal sole 20 to 40 mm thick integrating the batteries as well as the electronic components necessary for powering the electric motor and controlling acceleration or braking; • Wheels (between 3 and 6) arranged on either side of the sole; • An electric motor, which may be, depending on the configuration: • integrated into one or more wheel(s) (hub motor), • or offset to the rear of the foot and driving the drive wheel via a belt; • A fastening device keeping the user's shoe attached to the sole.
2. Device according to claim 1, having between 3 and 6 wheels, arranged laterally on either side of the sole, in order to offer good stability by limiting the user's height increase, at least 2 of said wheels having a diameter greater than 80 mm, typically 110 mm, in order to absorb the roughness of the road surface.
3. Device according to the preceding claims, the total weight of which per foot does not exceed 3 kg including batteries.
4. Device according to the preceding claims, the acceleration or braking of which is controlled, depending on the configuration: • by a remote control held in the hand by the user • or by means of pressure sensors integrated into the pads.
