Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Device for supporting a motor vehicle powertrain Technical field
[0001] The invention relates to a device for supporting a motor vehicle powertrain. Previous techniques
[0002] A motor vehicle powertrain generally comprises an engine associated with a gearbox or a geared motor. It is known to arrange the powertrain either axially, that is to say the crankshaft is oriented longitudinally in the normal direction of movement of the vehicle, or transversely, that is to say the crankshaft is oriented perpendicular to the normal direction of movement of the vehicle.
[0003] When the powertrain is arranged transversely, the gearbox or geared motor is arranged transversely on one side of the engine.
[0004] In order to ensure good vibration filtration, the powertrain is generally suspended by two supports arranged one on the engine side and the other on the gearbox or geared motor side. These supports are fixed to the structure of the vehicle, in particular to side members of the engine compartment.
[0005] For reasons of rationalization of manufacturing costs, motor vehicle manufacturers favor the use of the same modular platform when manufacturing different vehicle models. This platform includes in particular the engine compartment which can be equipped with electric or thermal engines.
[0006] In the case of thermal engines, the support is not fixed directly to the structure, but a structural extension is used to raise the suspension point of the engine, which is necessary due to the greater height of the thermal engine in relation to the gearbox.
[0007] However, in the case of electric motors there is not much difference in height between the electric motor and the geared motor. In this case, using a riser is not necessary and causes a significant loss of useful volume. Statement of the invention
[0008] The aim of the invention is to propose a powertrain support device which makes it possible to free up the maximum amount of space in the engine compartment and which makes it possible to ensure correct support of the powertrain, in particular with regard to torsional stresses.
[0009] The invention relates to a device for supporting a motor vehicle powertrain comprising a support plate and a tie rod. The support plate comprises a fixing part intended to be fixed directly to a structural element of the vehicle located on the side of an engine of the powertrain, and a support part secured to the fixing part, arranged in a console relative to the structural element and comprising means for suspending the engine. The tie rod connects a lateral side of the support plate to a sheet metal of the engine compartment of the vehicle. Such a support device maximizes the useful space available in the engine compartment and improves the capacity to absorb torsional stresses by involving a sheet metal of the engine compartment.
[0010] According to one characteristic, the support plate comprises fixing means comprising threaded studs arranged on an upper face of the plate. Such a support plate makes it possible to fix a component on its upper face.
[0011] According to another characteristic, the support plate is provided with a crow resting on the structural element of the vehicle, so as to stiffen the support part. Such a crow makes it possible to stiffen the support part.
[0012] For example, the tie rod is flat and reinforced by a stamped area. Such a tie rod is simple to manufacture and improves the absorption of torsional stresses.
[0013] Advantageously, the tie rod comprises a fixing lug. For example, the fixing lug is provided with an oblong hole configured to accommodate a fixing comprising a fir-tree pin associated with a strap or a fixing flange. Such a fixing lug makes it possible, for example, to hold a water pipe in a nominal position which minimizes the risk of damage.
[0014] Preferably, the motor suspension means comprise a suspension ring configured to support a support shaft of the motor. Such a suspension ring allows rotation of the shaft and reduces transmission of vibrations of the motor.
[0015] According to another aspect, the invention relates to a motor vehicle equipped with a powertrain comprising an electric motor. The powertrain is fixed to a structural element of the vehicle by means of at least one support device as described above.
[0016] For example, the vehicle includes a water condenser mounted on an upper face of the support plate of the support device. Brief description of the drawings
[0017] Other aims, characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear on reading the following description, given solely by way of non-limiting example, and made with reference to the appended drawings in which:
[0018] [Fig.l] is a schematic sectional view of a powertrain supported by a support device according to the invention; and
[0019] [Fig.2] illustrates a perspective view of the support device of [Fig.l]; Detailed description of at least one embodiment
[0020] [Fig.l] shows a transverse power unit 1 for a motor vehicle (not shown). In the embodiment illustrated here, it is a power unit 1 which comprises an electric traction motor 2 and a geared motor 3.
[0021] In a known manner, the geared motor 3 is supported by at least one support 4 fixed to the structure of the vehicle.
[0022] The engine 2 is supported by a support device 5 comprising a support plate 6 and a tie rod 7.
[0023] The support plate 6 comprises a fixing part 6a and a support part 6b, integral with each other.
[0024] The fixing part 6a is intended to be fixed directly to a structural element 8 of the vehicle, located on the side of the engine 2, thus freeing up a maximum of space in the engine compartment.
[0025] As is more particularly visible in [Fig.2], the fixing part is crossed by several fixing orifices, here two in number, which are each intended to receive a threaded rod, for example a screw or a stud. The structural element 8 is here a side member of the chassis of the vehicle. Alternatively, the fixing of the fixing part can be carried out by beads or welding points.
[0026] The support part 6b is console-like relative to the structural element 8 and comprises means 9 for suspending the motor 2. The suspension means 9 comprise a suspension ring 9a configured to support a support axis 10 of the motor. As can be seen more particularly in [Fig.2], the suspension ring 9a is here fixed to the support plate 6 by means of two threaded rods.
[0027] It should be noted that the same elements bear the same references, from one figure to another.
[0028] [Fig.2] is a perspective view of the support device 5 of [Fig.l].
[0029] The tie rod 7 connects a lateral side 11 of the support plate 6 to a sheet metal 12 of the engine compartment of the vehicle. For example, the sheet metal 12 may be a closing sheet metal for a wheel arch.
[0030] Preferably, the tie rod 7 is flat and reinforced by a stamped zone 7a.
[0031] According to one example, the tie rod comprises a fixing lug 7b which is here provided with an oblong hole capable of receiving a fixing comprising for example a fir-tree pin associated with a strap or a fixing flange.
[0032] Preferably, the support plate comprises fixing means comprising threaded studs 13 arranged on an upper face of the plate 6. The threaded studs 13 are configured for fixing components on the upper face of the plate 6.
[0033] Preferably, the support plate 6 is provided with a crow 14 on a lower face of the support plate 6. The lower and upper faces of the support plate 6 are opposite and delimit the thickness of the support plate 6. The crow 14 rests on the structural element 8 of the vehicle, so as to stiffen the support part 6b in a console. Preferably, the crow is rigidly fixed on the structural element 8 to guarantee perfect holding in place and to promote the transmission of forces towards the structural element 8.
[0034] The support device according to the invention makes it possible to free up a maximum amount of space in the engine compartment. A motor vehicle whose powertrain is fixed by at least one such support device may thus comprise a water condenser mounted on the upper face of the support plate of the support device.
