Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: ASSEMBLY FOR REINFORCING THE FUSELAGE OF AN AIRCRAFT WHEN REMOVING A REMOVABLE PANEL Technical field
[0001] The present invention relates to an assembly for reinforcing the fuselage of an aircraft in which the aircraft comprises a fuselage having an opening and a removable panel intended to be removably fixed in the opening of the fuselage. Such an assembly is implemented when removing the movable panel from the fuselage. The invention also relates to an aircraft on which such an assembly is mounted as well as a method for removing the removable panel from the fuselage. STATE OF THE PRIOR ART
[0002] Currently, to store kerosene, an aircraft has tanks which are conventionally housed in the wings. To limit pollution, it is envisaged to change fuel and use liquid or gaseous dihydrogen. To store dihydrogen, it is planned to use tanks which are housed in the fuselage of the aircraft.
[0003] To ensure the maintenance of these tanks, it is necessary to be able to easily access them in order to remove them if necessary, or at least periodically. To do this, it is necessary to remove a removable panel from the fuselage of the aircraft. Given the dimensions of the tanks, such a removable panel may have a surface area greater than 20 m2.
[0004] It is thus necessary to provide a solution allowing the easy installation and removal of a removable panel allowing access to the tanks while ensuring structural continuity of the fuselage and the removable panel when the removable panel is removed from the fuselage. Statement of the invention
[0005] An object of the present invention is to provide a reinforcement assembly which allows a removable panel to be removed from a fuselage of an aircraft in a simple, rapid and secure manner.
[0006] For this purpose, an assembly is proposed for reinforcing an aircraft fuselage, said fuselage having an opening and a removable panel intended to be received in said opening, said assembly comprising:
[0007] - a first support intended to be fixed to an external face of the fuselage, where said first support is intended to be fixed around and outside said opening;
[0008] - a subassembly comprising a second upper beam, a second lower beam and at least two crosspieces connecting said second upper and lower beams, wherein said second upper beam and said second lower beam are intended to be fixed to an outer face of said removable panel and wherein said subassembly is housed inside said first support;
[0009] - first means for fixing said first support to said fuselage; and
[0010] - second means for fixing said subassembly to said removable panel.
[0011] The implementation of such an assembly makes it possible to support and reinforce the fuselage and the removable panel in order to prevent them from being weakened or even deformed when removing the removable panel from the opening. In this way, it is also possible to reduce the mass of the aircraft fuselage since it is not necessary to implement reinforcement elements on the flying structure at the opening and the removable panel, this reinforcement being obtained by the assembly which is fixed to the aircraft only when a ground maintenance operation is necessary.
[0012] Advantageously, said first support comprises first fixing elements extending from a periphery of said first support and towards the outside of said first support, where said first fixing means comprise first shoes intended to be fixed to frames and / or stringers of said fuselage located on an inner face of said fuselage, and where said first fixing elements are fixed to said first shoes.
[0013] According to a variant of this exemplary embodiment, said first support comprises first fixing elements extending from a periphery of said first support and towards the outside of said first support, where said first fixing means comprise barrel nuts intended to be housed in first fixing holes provided in the frames and / or the stringers of said fuselage located on an inner face of said fuselage and where said first fixing elements are fixed to said barrel nuts.
[0014] According to a particular aspect, said second upper and lower beams each comprise second fixing elements extending from said second upper and lower beams towards the other second beam respectively, where said second fixing means comprise second shoes intended to be fixed to beams of said removable panel located on an inner face of said removable panel and where said second fixing elements are fixed to said second shoes.
[0015] According to a variant of this exemplary embodiment, said second upper and lower beams each comprise second fixing elements extending from said second upper and lower beams in the direction of the other second beam respectively, where said second fixing means comprise barrel nuts intended to be housed in second fixing holes provided in the beams of said removable panel located on an inner face of said removable panel and where said second fixing elements are fixed to said barrel nuts.
[0016] According to another particular aspect, said subassembly is mounted to be mobile in rotation relative to said first support.
[0017] According to yet another particular aspect, the assembly further comprises a handling support intended to be fixed to said outer face of said removable panel by third fixing means, said handling support comprising at least one handling element intended to be fixed to a handling machine.
[0018] The invention also relates to an aircraft comprising:
[0019] - a fuselage comprising a skin as well as frames and stringers fixed to a inner face of the skin, said fuselage having an opening, where each frame and each stringer is interrupted at one of its ends at an edge of the opening;
[0020] - a removable panel intended to be received in said opening of the fuselage, said removable panel comprising a skin and beams fixed to an inner face of the skin, where each beam is interrupted at its ends at an edge of the removable panel;
[0021] - an assembly as described above, where said first support is fixed to a outer face of the fuselage around and outside said opening by the first fixing means, and where said subassembly is fixed to an outer face of said removable panel by the second fixing means and where said subassembly is housed inside said first support.
[0022] The invention also relates to a method for removing a removable panel from a fuselage of an aircraft as described previously, the method comprising the steps of:
[0023] - fixing, by the first fixing means, of the first support of the assembly to the outer face of the fuselage around and outside said opening;
[0024] - fixing, by the second fixing means of the second upper beam and from the second lower beam of the subassembly of the assembly to the outer face of said removable panel, where the subassembly is housed inside said first support;
[0025] - detachment / unlocking of the removable panel relative to said fuselage;
[0026] - withdrawal, by moving the subassembly. Brief description of the drawings

[0040] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF AN EXAMPLE OF EMBODIMENT
[0041] [Fig.l] shows an aircraft 1 which comprises a fuselage 10 which generally takes a cylindrical shape and a removable panel 14 removably fixed in an opening 12 of the fuselage 10. In the embodiment of the invention shown in [Fig.l], there is only one removable panel 14 but it is possible to have several.
[0042] [Fig. 2] shows a perspective view of a rear part of a fuselage 10 of the aircraft 1. The fuselage 10 has an opening 12 which is here of generally rectangular shape and which is intended to receive the removable panel 14 and to be closed by the removable panel 14 when the latter is in place.
[0043] In the following description, and by convention, X is the longitudinal direction of the aircraft 1, Y is the transverse direction which is horizontal when the aircraft 1 is on the ground, and Z is the vertical direction which is vertical when the aircraft 1 is on the ground, these three directions X, Y and Z being orthogonal to each other.
[0044] In the following description, the terms relating to a position are taken with reference to an aircraft 1 in normal flight position, that is to say as it is shown in [Fig.l] and the "front" and "rear" positions are taken with respect to the front and rear of the aircraft 1 with respect to its direction of advance when its engines are operating. The arrow F represents the direction of advance of the aircraft 1 in flight.
[0045] The fuselage 10 is made up of panels which are generally arched around a longitudinal axis X. Each panel comprises a skin 102 whose inner face is fixed to frames 104a and stringers 104b. In the embodiment of the invention shown in Figs. 4 to 6 in particular, there are frames 104a which are each arranged in a vertical plane parallel to the plane YZ and stringers 104b which each extend parallel to the longitudinal direction X. Each frame 104a and each stringer 104b of the fuselage 10 is interrupted at one of its ends at an edge of the opening 12.
[0046] Preferably, and as illustrated here, for each frame 104a which is interrupted at an edge of the opening 12, another frame 104a is aligned, i.e. in the same vertical plane, with said frame 104a and is interrupted at the opposite edge of the opening 12. In the same way, for each rail 104b which is interrupted at an edge of the opening 12, another rail 104b is aligned, i.e. in the same horizontal plane, with said rail 104b and is interrupted at the opposite edge of the opening 12.
[0047] The removable panel 14 comprises a skin 142 and beams 144 fixed to an inner face of the skin 142 of the removable panel 14. In the same way as for the fuselage 10, there are beams 144 which are each arranged in a vertical plane parallel to the plane YZ and beams 144 which each extend parallel to the longitudinal direction X. Each beam 144 of the removable panel 14 is interrupted at one of its ends at an edge of the removable panel 14. Preferably, and as illustrated here, for each beam 144 which is interrupted at an edge of the removable panel 14, a frame 104a or a stringer 104b is aligned, that is to say in the same vertical or horizontal plane, with said beam 144.
[0048] In other words, each end of a beam 144 of the removable panel 14 is opposite one end of a frame 104a or a stringer 104b of the fuselage 10. There is thus a beam 144 of the removable panel 14 which extends between two frames 104a or two stringers 104b of the fuselage 10 and each end of the beam 144 of the removable panel 14 is opposite one end of a frame 104a or a stringer 104b of the fuselage 10.
[0049] Although not illustrated, it is clearly understood that the aircraft 1 comprises fixing means which ensure a removable fixing between the end of the frames 104a or the stringers 104b of the fuselage 10 and the end of the beams 144 of the panel removable 14. The installation of the fixing means is not necessarily carried out at the end of each frame 104a and / or smooth 104b of the fuselage 10, but at the end of at least one frame 104a of the fuselage 10, and depending on the structural strength, other fixing means are installed on the ends of other frames 104a and / or smooth 104b of the fuselage 10.
[0050] [Fig. 3] illustrates an embodiment of an assembly 2 according to the invention. Such an assembly 2 is intended to be mounted on the fuselage of an aircraft 1 in order to reinforce the structure of the latter when the removable panel 14 is removed from the opening 12.
[0051] To do this, the assembly 2 comprises a first support 22, comprising a first upper beam 220a, a first lower beam 220b and two lateral crosspieces 220c, 220d which connect the first upper beam 220a and lower beam 220b. The first upper beam 220a and the first lower beam 220b are intended to be fixed to an external face of the fuselage 10. The first support 22, which takes the form of a frame, is intended to be fixed around and outside the opening 12.
[0052] The assembly 2 further comprises a subassembly 24 comprising a second upper beam 240a, a second lower beam 240b and at least two crosspieces 240c, 240d connecting the second upper beam 240a and lower beam (240b). The second upper beam 240a and the second lower beam 240b are intended to be fixed to an outer face of the removable panel 14. The subassembly 24 is further housed inside the first support 22, while being fixed at the level of the interior of the opening 12 (i.e. at the level of the removable panel).
[0053] The assembly 2 further comprises first means 32 for fixing the first support 22 to the fuselage 10 and second means 34 for fixing the subassembly 24 to the removable panel 14.
[0054] More particularly, and as illustrated in Figs. 3 to 6, the opening 12 here has a generally rectangular shape. The first support 22 therefore here has a rectangular shape where the first upper beam 220a is fixed to the fuselage 10 near and above the opening 12. The first lower beam 220b is fixed to the fuselage 10 near and below the opening 12. The lateral crosspieces 220c and 220d here connect the ends of the first upper beam 220a and lower beam 220b. The lateral crosspieces 220c and 220d extend near the lateral edges of the opening 12 and extend over the outside of the opening 12. Thus, the opening 12 is framed by the first support 22 and access to the opening 12 is left free.
[0055] The first support 22, which is fixed to the fuselage 10 around the opening 12, makes it possible to support and reinforce the structure of the fuselage 10 in order to stabilize it. Thus, the first support 22 prevents the fuselage 10 from being weakened, or even deformed, during of the removal of the removable panel 14. The longitudinal forces (along the X axis) undergone by the fuselage 10 at the level of the opening 12 are absorbed by the first upper beam 220a and lower beam 220b while the transverse forces (along the Z axis) are absorbed by the lateral crosspieces 220c and 220d.
[0056] It is also conceivable, in order to further optimize the absorption of transverse forces, to optionally implement jacks (not illustrated) which are supported on the ground and which are connected to the first support 22, for example at the level of the lateral crosspieces 220c and 220d.
[0057] With regard to the subassembly 24, the second upper beam 240a is fixed to the removable panel 14, near and below the opening 12. The second lower beam 240b is fixed to the removable panel 14, near and above the opening 12.
[0058] In this example, the subassembly 24 comprises two crosspieces 240c and 240d which connect the ends of the second upper 240a and lower 240b beams to form a second support housed in the first support 22. However, it could be envisaged to implement a greater number of crosspieces between the second upper 240a and lower 240b beams. It is not essential that the crosspieces connect the ends of the second upper 240a and lower 240b beams.
[0059] The subassembly 24, which is fixed to the removable panel 14, makes it possible to support and reinforce the removable panel 14 in order to prevent the latter from being weakened, or even deformed, when it is removed from the opening 12. The longitudinal forces (along the X axis) undergone by the removable panel 14 are absorbed by the second upper beam 240a and lower beam 240b while the transverse forces (along the Z axis) are absorbed by the crosspieces 240c and 240d.
[0060] In this way, the removable panel 14 can be easily removed from the opening 12 of the fuselage 10, without risk of the fuselage 10 and / or the removable panel 14 becoming deformed during maintenance operations.
[0061] The implementation of the assembly 2 according to the invention makes it possible to reduce the mass of the fuselage 10 of the aircraft 1 since it is not necessary to implement on the flying structure, reinforcement elements at the level of the opening 12 and the removable panel 14. Indeed, the reinforcement of these elements is obtained by the assembly 2 which is fixed to the aircraft 1 only when a ground maintenance operation is necessary.
[0062] The first support 22 and the subassembly 24 may for example be made of steel or aluminum.
[0063] As illustrated in Figs. 3 to 6 and 8, the first support 22 comprises first fastening elements 222 extending from a periphery 220 of the first support 22 and towards the outside of the first support 22. The first fastening means 32 comprise first shoes 322 intended to be fixed to frames 104a or stringers 104b of the fuselage 10 located on an inner face of the skin 102 of the fuselage 10. The first fixing elements 222 are fixed to the first shoes 322.
[0064] More particularly, the first fastening elements 222, which here are generally in the form of a fastening bracket, project from the first upper beam 220a and lower beam 220b. The first fastening elements 222 extend outwardly from the first support 22, that is to say in a direction opposite to the opening 12, or in a direction opposite to the subassembly 24. In other words, the first fastening elements 222 extending from the first upper beam 220a extend upwards while the first fastening elements 222 extending from the first lower beam 220b extend downwards. This allows free access to the opening 12 so as to allow the subassembly 24 to be fixed to the removable panel 14 and to allow the removable panel 14 to be removed from the opening 12.
[0065] [Fig.8] shows a first shoe 322 fixed to a frame 104a of the fuselage 10. The first shoe 322 is fixed inside the fuselage 10, that is to say under the skin 102 of the fuselage 10. The first shoe 322 can be removably fixed to the frame 104a. The fixing of the first shoe 322 to the frame 104a of the fuselage 10 is carried out for example conventionally with screws. It is obviously understood that the first shoe 322 could be fixed to a stringer 104b of the fuselage 10 without departing from the principle of the invention.
[0066] The first fixing element 222 of the first support 22 is in turn supported on the external face of the fuselage 10, against the skin 102. The first fixing element 222 is fixed in a removable manner to the first shoe 322 through the skin 102 of the fuselage 10, for example conventionally with screws. A fixing is said to be removable when the two elements can be separated without destroying either one.
[0067] Similarly, the second upper beam 240a and lower beam 240b each comprise second fastening elements 242 which extend from the second upper beam 240a and lower beam 240b towards the other second beam 240a, 240b respectively. In other words, the second fastening elements 242 which extend from the second upper beam 240a extend towards the second lower beam 240b, while the second fastening elements 242 which extend from the second lower beam 240b extend towards the second upper beam 240a. The second fastening means 34 comprise second shoes 342 fixed, for example removably, to the beams 144 of the removable panel 14 located on an inner face of the panel. removable 14. The second fixing elements 242 are removably fixed to the second shoes 342.
[0068] In this example, the second fixing elements 242 are also in the form of fixing brackets extending from the second of the second upper beams 240a and lower beams 240b and coming to bear against the skin 142 of the removable panel 14.
[0069] The structural and operational details described above in relation to [Fig.8] also apply to the second fastening elements 242 and to the second shoes 342.
[0070] Thus, the first support 22 and the subassembly 24 can be fixed to the fuselage 10 and to the removable panel 14 respectively in an easy, rapid and secure manner.
[0071] In an alternative embodiment illustrated in [Fig.9], the first fixing means 32 of the first support 22 comprise barrel nuts intended to be housed in first fixing holes 324 provided in the frames 104a of the fuselage 10 located on an inner face of the fuselage 10. The first fixing elements 222 are fixed to said barrel nuts, through the fuselage. It is obviously understood that the first fixing holes 324 could also be provided in the stringers 104b of the fuselage 10 without departing from the principle of the invention.
[0072] Similarly, the second fixing means 34 of the subassembly 24 comprise barrel nuts intended to be housed in second fixing holes 344 provided in the beams 144 of the removable panel 14 located on an inner face of the removable panel 14. The second fixing elements 242 are removably fixed to the barrel nuts, through the fuselage.
[0073] In this case, the frames 104a or the beams 144 comprise fixing holes 324, 344 in which barrel nuts are housed. The fixing holes 324, 344 are previously provided on the frames 104a, the stringers 104b or the beams 144 and can for example also constitute fixing points to allow connection with ground service or handling equipment on the aircraft assembly lines. Fixing screws (not shown) are intended to successively pass through the first 222 or second 242 fixing elements, the skin 102, 142 of the fuselage 10 or the removable panel 14, to then be screwed into the barrel nuts housed in the frames 104a, the stringers 104b or the beams 144.
[0074] Thus, the first support 22 and the subassembly 24 can be fixed to the fuselage 10 and to the removable panel 14 respectively in an easy, rapid and secure manner.
[0075] According to an embodiment illustrated in [Fig.7], the subassembly 24 is mounted to be mobile in rotation relative to the first support 22. To do this, the assembly 2 here has several hinges 25 which connect the first support 22 to the subassembly 24. In this example, three hinges are implemented between the first beam upper 220a and the second upper beam 240a. Thus, the subassembly 24 pivots upwards so as to release the opening 12.
[0076] Thus, the handling operations of the removable panel 14 are optimized. For example, this makes it possible to avoid the use of a handling machine such as an overhead crane to remove the removable panel 14 from the opening 12.
[0077] In order to facilitate the rotation of the removable panel 14, it is possible to use arms and / or jacks (hydraulic or pneumatic) between the first support 22 and the subassembly 24 (for example at the level of the lateral crosspieces 220c and 220d).
[0078] According to a particular aspect, illustrated in [Fig. 10], the subassembly 24 comprises first handling elements 246 which are here arranged on the crosspieces 240c and 240d. These first handling elements 246 could also be arranged on the second upper beam 240a and / or lower beam 240b. These first handling elements 246 are here in the form of an ear comprising a hole intended to be fixed to a handling machine, such as ground service equipment or an overhead crane for example.
[0079] Thus, the operations of removing and handling the subassembly 24, and therefore the removable panel 14, are simplified and secured.
[0080] In an alternative embodiment illustrated in [Fig. 11], the assembly 2 further comprises a handling support 26 intended to be removably fixed to the outer face of the removable panel 14 by third fixing means 36. The handling support 26 comprises at least one handling element 262 intended to be fixed to a handling machine, such as ground service equipment or an overhead crane for example.
[0081] It is obviously understood that the handling support 26 may comprise third elements 262 for fixing the handling support 26 to the removable panel 14. These third fixing elements 262 are fixed to the third fixing means 36 which may be in the form of third shoes 362 (as illustrated in [Fig.8]) or in the form of barrel nuts housed in holes 364 made in the beams 144 of the removable panel 14 (as illustrated in [Fig.9]).
[0082] The implementation of such a handling support 26 makes it possible to simplify and make more secure the operations of removing and handling the subassembly 24, and therefore the removable panel 14.
[0083] In the examples illustrated in Figs. 3 to 11, the first support 22 is divided into first sections 228 which are secured to each other to form the first support 22. Preferably, two adjacent first sections 228 are secured to each other at a first fixing element 222.
[0084] In the same way, the subassembly 24 is divided into second sections 248 which are secured to each other to form the subassembly 24. Preferably, two adjacent second sections 248 are secured to each other at a second fixing element 242.
[0085] Thus, the first support 22 and the subassembly 24 can each be divided into a plurality of sections, for example up to 15 kg each, so as to simplify their handling and their installation respectively on the fuselage 10 and on the removable panel 14.
[0086] The sections 228, 248 can be secured together by screws or by welding, for example.
[0087] In a variant, the first support 22 and / or the second support 24 is monobloc, that is to say manufactured in a single piece, or at least not removable.
[0088] [Fig. 12] schematically illustrates the steps of the method 90 for removing a removable panel 14 from a fuselage 10 of an aircraft 1 implementing an assembly 2 according to the invention. The method 90 comprises the steps of:
[0089] - fixing 92, by the first fixing means 32, of the first support 22 of assembly 2 has an outer face of the fuselage 10 around and outside the opening 12;
[0090] - fixing 94, by the second fixing means 34 of the second beam upper 240a and the second lower beam 240b of the subassembly 24 to an outer face of the removable panel 14, where the subassembly 24 is housed inside the first support 22;
[0091] - detachment / unlocking 96 of the removable panel 14 relative to the fuselage 10 ;
[0092] - withdrawal 98, by moving the subassembly 24 allowing the panel to be removed removable 14 on which it is fixed from the opening 12.
[0093] Such a method 90 makes it possible to easily, quickly and safely remove a removable panel 14 from an opening 12 of a fuselage 10. Indeed, the fixing of the first support 22 on the fuselage 10, around the opening 12, makes it possible to reinforce the structure of the fuselage 10 around the opening 12 so that the removal of the removable panel 14 does not cause weakening, or even deformation, of the fuselage 10. In addition, the fixing of the subassembly 24 on the movable panel 14 makes it possible to reinforce the removable panel 14 during its removal from the fuselage 10 in order to prevent any weakening or deformation of the removable panel 14. In addition, when the subassembly 24 comprises handling elements 246, the removal of the removable panel 14 is facilitated.
[0094] It is easily understood that to replace the removable panel 14 in the opening 12, it is sufficient to carry out the steps described previously in the reverse order, that is to say:
[0095] - position, by displacement, the subassembly 24 allowing the repositioning of the removable panel 14 in opening 12;
[0096] - secure / lock the removable panel 14 relative to the fuselage 10;
[0097] - dismantle the second fixing means 34 to detach the second upper beam 240a and the second lower beam 240b of the subassembly 24 of the outer face of the removable panel 14;
[0098] - dismantle the first fixing means 32 to detach the first support 22 of the outer face of the fuselage 10.
