Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Keratinous material treatment mask Technical field
[0001] The present invention relates to a mask for caring for keratinous materials and a non-therapeutic method for caring for keratinous materials with said mask. STATE OF THE ART
[0002] The skin is the protective barrier of the human body. It protects the inside of the body against physical injuries (such as trauma) and biological injuries (such as bacteria, viruses or fungi).
[0003] The development of formulas dedicated to skin care is ongoing.
[0004] Hydrogel is a kind of solid gel comprising different types of polymers, which can hold a large amount of water. The technology is widely used as a kind of medical dressing to provide the effect of soothing or healing wounds. In the cosmetic field, a hydrogel can be used as a kind of substrate in the form of a sheet mask.
[0005] The hydrogel mask releases cosmetic ingredients at room temperature and delivers them to the skin.
[0006] However, some hydrogel masks are not stable at high temperature such as 45°C, indicating that the exudate released from the compositions in the hydrogel masks is either too high or too low, so that their shelf life is negatively affected.
[0007] There is therefore a need to develop a mask which is stable at a high temperature such as 45°C. Summary of the invention
[0008] An object of the present invention is to develop a mask which is stable at a high temperature such as 45°C.
[0009] Thus, according to a first aspect, the present invention provides a mask, preferably for caring for keratinous materials, comprising: A. a mask fabric comprising at least one water-insoluble multivalent metal salt, which is loaded with at least one glycosaminoglycan, and B. a composition on the mask fabric, comprising: a. at least one non-ionic polysaccharide selected from homopolymers of mannose, copolymers of mannose and glucose, copolymers of mannose and galactose, and one of their combinations; b. at least one water-soluble alkali metal salt.
[0010] According to a second aspect, the present invention also provides a non-therapeutic method for caring for keratinous materials, comprising the application of the mask according to the present invention to the keratinous materials.
[0011] The inventors have found that the mask of the present invention is stable for at least 2 months at a high temperature such as 45°C.
[0012] The viscosity of the exudate from the composition of the mask of the present invention is a key parameter for measuring the stability of the mask at high temperature.
[0013] As used herein, "stable" means that the exudate from the composition in the mask of the present invention has a viscosity of 50 mPa-s to 350 mPa-s after the mask has been stored for 2 months at 45°C.
[0014] Other subjects and features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will be set forth in the following description, and in part, will be obvious from the description, or may be learned by practice of the present invention. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0025] For the purposes of the present invention, the expression “water-insoluble mask fabric” » means that the mask fabric is not soluble in water, e.g., having a solubility of less than 0.01 g / 100 g of water or only slightly soluble in water, e.g., having a solubility of less than 0.5 g / 100 g of water, nor does it decompose in its raw state upon immersion in water.
[0026] The mask fabric may be a woven or non-woven fabric.
[0027] Preferably, the mask fabric comprises at least one water-insoluble multivalent metal salt with at least one other fiber selected from natural fibers such as cotton, pulp, bamboo, and cellulose fibers, semi-natural fibers such as viscose rayon fibers, and synthetic fibers such as polyester fibers, polyethylene terephthalate fibers, polyethylene fibers, and polypropylene fibers. Two or more fibers selected from the other fibers may be used in combination.
[0028] The mask fabric can be made in a wide variety of shapes, such as flat pads, thick pads, thin sheets of irregular thickness, depending on the desired use and the characteristic of the mask. For example, the mask fabric is typically designed to conform to the area of the skin in the case of a mask on which topical application is desired. To this end, when the mask is applied to the face, the mask fabric is designed to match the shape of the face avoiding, if necessary, the areas of the eyes, nostrils and mouth. Non-limiting examples of the mask fabrics useful in the present invention are described, for example, in patent application WO 02 / 062132 or EP 2489286A.

Glycosaminoglycans
[0034] The mask fabric is loaded with at least one glycosaminoglycan.
[0035] Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) are also called acidic mucopolysaccharides due to their high water-binding capacity, their carbohydrate nature, and their acidic nature derived from the many negative charges they contain. The strong anionic nature of GAGs is explained by the presence of carboxylate groups.
[0036] Suitable examples of glycosaminoglycans are hyaluronic acid (HA), heparan sulfate (HS), heparin (HP), chondroitin, chondroitin sulfate (CS), chondroitin sulfate 4 or chondroitin sulfate A (CSA), chondroitin sulfate 6 or chondroitin sulfate C (CSC), dermatan sulfate or chondroitin sulfate B (CSB) and keratin sulfate (KS).
[0037] Preferably, the glycosaminoglycan is chosen from hyaluronic acid and its derivatives.
[0038] In the context of the present invention, the expression "hyaluronic acid and its derivatives" covers the basic hyaluronic acid unit which includes the smallest hyaluronic acid moiety comprising a disaccharide dimer, namely D-glucuronic acid and N-acetylglucosamine.
[0039] The expression "hyaluronic acid and its derivatives" also includes, in the context of the present invention, the linear polymer comprising the polymeric unit described above, linked together in the chain via alternating beta(1,4) and beta(1,3) glycosidic bonds, having an average molecular weight (MW) which can vary between 380 and 13,000,000 g / mol. This weight-average molecular weight depends largely on the source from which the hyaluronic acid is obtained and / or the preparation processes.
[0040] The expression "hyaluronic acid and its derivatives" also includes all fractions or sub-units of hyaluronic acid having a weight average molecular weight in particular in the weight average molecular weight range recalled above.

[0064] The water-soluble alkali metal salt, preferably sodium citrate, will exhibit ion exchange with the water-insoluble multivalent metal salt, preferably calcium alginate, associated with the glycosaminoglycan, especially sodium hyaluronate, which gives the exudate of the composition a viscosity suitable for application and keeps it stable at high temperature, such as 45°C. Ionic polysaccharides
[0065] Preferably, the composition in the mask according to the present invention comprises an ionic polysaccharide.
[0066] In the context of the present invention, the expression "ionic polysaccharide" should be understood as meaning a polysaccharide in which the number of monosaccharide units contains at least one ionic group.
[0067] Preferably, the ionic polysaccharide is selected from xanthan gum, carrageenan, gellan gum, diutan gum, welan gum, and a combination thereof.
[0068] Xanthan is a heteropolysaccharide produced by aerobic fermentation of the bacterium Xanthomonas campestris. Its structure consists of a main chain of [3-D-glucoses [3(1,4)-linked, similar to cellulose. Every second glucose molecule carries a trisaccharide side chain composed of a [3-D-mannose, a [3-D-glucuronic acid and a terminal [3-D-mannose. The internal mannose residue is usually acetylated on carbon 6. About 30% of the terminal mannose residues carry a pyruvate group linked in chelated form between carbons 4 and 6. Charged glucuronic acids and pyruvic acids are ionizable and are therefore responsible for the anionic nature of xanthan (negative charge up to pH 1). These groups can be neutralized in commercial products with Na+, K+, or Ca2+ ions (Satia Company, 1986). The neutralized form can be converted to the acid form by ion exchange or by dialysis of an acid solution.

[0072] Preferably, the carrageenans predominantly comprise the K form, or are in the K form. The term “predominantly” means that the percentage of this type of chain in the composition of the product is greater than or equal to 50%, this proportion possibly being greater than or equal to 80% in certain embodiments. Such carrageenans may be those sold under the names CARRAGEENAN BLK1120 by the company BLG.
[0073] Gellan gum has a recurring tetrasaccharide structure composed of (glucose-glucuronic acid-glucose-rhamnose) units.
[0074] The partial structure of gellan gum is as follows:
[0075] -4)-L-Rhap-(al-3)-D-Glcp-([3-l-4)-D-GlcpA-([3-l-4)-D-Glcp-([3-l-.

Diutan generally has a hexameric repeating unit consisting of four sugars in the backbone (glucose-glucuronic acid-glucose-rhamnose) and a side chain of two rhamnose residues attached to one of the glucose residues. A non-limiting example of a commercially available diutan gum is Kelcocare™ Diutan Gum from CP Kelco.Diutan gum is also commonly referred to as S-657 polysaccharide.
[0077] Welan gum is a biogum that can be produced by fermentation of a bacterial strain of the genus Alcaligenes or the genus Sphingomonas. More specifically, welan gum is an exopolysaccharide that can be produced, i.e. can be obtained, by fermentation of a carbohydrate by a bacterial strain of the genus Alcaligenes or the genus Sphingomonas. Welan gum is a polymer that has a repeating tetrasaccharide backbone chain containing L-mannose, L-rhamnose, D-glucose and D-glucuronic acid. [0129] The masks obtained in inventive examples 1-3 represent the mask according to the present invention.
[0130] The mask of Comparative Example 1 does not comprise a) at least one non-ionic polysaccharide selected from mannose homopolymers, mannose and glucose copolymers, mannose and galactose copolymers, and one of their combinations, and does not comprise at least one glycosaminoglycan loaded on the mask fabric.
[0131] The mask of Comparative Example 2 does not comprise b) at least one water-soluble alkali metal salt in the composition.
[0132] The mask of Comparative Example 3 does not comprise at least one glycosaminoglycan loaded onto the mask fabric.
[0133] The mask of Comparative Example 4 does not comprise a) at least one non-ionic polysaccharide chosen from homopolymers of mannose, copolymers of mannose and glucose, copolymers of mannose and galactose, and one of their combinations.
[0134] Preparation of the compositions:
[0135] Each composition of Inventive Examples 1-3 and Comparative Examples 1-4 was prepared as follows: 1. Salicylic acid, sodium citrate (if used), sodium hyaluronate (if used) and 1,3-propanediol were introduced into 80°C water in a main pot and dissolved well. 2. Carrageenan (if any), xanthan gum (if any), and glucomannan (if any) were mixed in glycerin at 80°C to obtain mixture A, then mixture A or glycerin (and) glyceryl acrylate / acrylic acid copolymer (and) PVM / MA copolymer was introduced into the main tank with stirring to obtain mixture B. 3. Mixture B was heated to 80#C for 30 minutes, then cooled to room temperature.
[0136] Treatment of mask fabrics:
[0137] Each mask fabric of Inventive Examples 1-3 and Comparative Examples 2 and 4 was loaded with at least one glycosaminoglycan as follows: 1. Sodium hyaluronate was weighed and added into stirring water at room temperature (RT, 25°C) and dissolved well to obtain a mixture; 2. The mixture was sprayed into a mask fabric made of calcium alginate fiber and cellulose fiber using a spraying machine; 3. The mask fabric loaded with the mixture was placed in an oven at 80°C for 1 h to evaporate the water.
[0138] Preparation of masks:
[0139] 30 g of each composition of inventive examples 1-3 and comparative examples 1-4 were weighed and coated proportionally onto 1 g of a mask fabric of inventive examples 1-3 and comparative examples 1-4 using a coating machine to obtain a mask.
[0140] Evaluation: Appearance
[0141] The appearance of the compositions for the masks of Inventive Examples 1-3 and Comparative Examples 1-4 at room temperature (RT, 25°C) was observed with the naked eye. Viscosity
[0142] The masks of inventive examples 1-3 and comparative examples 1-4 were stored in bags at 45°C for 2 months.
[0143] The exudate from each composition contained in the masks of Inventive Examples 1-3 and Comparative Examples 1-4 was poured after the masks had been stored at 45°C for 2 months and their viscosity was determined using a rheometer of the MCR 301 type equipped with a PP25 spindle at a shear rate of 50
[0144] A viscosity in the range of 50 mPa-s to 350 mPa-s is considered reasonable, meaning that the mask is stable.
[0145] The appearance of each composition at room temperature and the viscosity of the exudate from each composition contained in the masks of Inventive Examples 1-3 and Comparative Examples 1-4 after storage for two months at 45°C were summarized in Table 3.
[0146] [Tables3] Properties El. 1 El. 2 EI.3 EC.l EC. 2 EC. 3 EC. 4 Appearance at T Hydrog Hydrog Hydrog Fluid v Hydrog Hydrog Fluid vi A el el el iscous el el squeux Viscosity ( mPa-S) 110 230 120 ND 470 27 ND
[0147] ND: not determined because the composition is a viscous fluid.
[0148] It can be seen from Table 3 that each composition in the masks of inventive examples 1-3 is hydrogel and that the exudate from each composition contained therein has a viscosity suitable for application, which means that each mask of inventive examples 1-3 has good stability at high temperature such as 45°C.
