Lithium can be extracted from rocks or from brines. In the case of brines, traditional processes are based on open-air evaporation, a slow and low-yield process. Adsorption processes have recently been developed and offer promising prospects.

[0007] In the context described above, a first object of the present invention is to overcome the problems of the prior art and to provide a method and device for lithium adsorption extraction that increases the concentration of lithium in the extract and reduces the energy consumption of the process.

2. A method according to claim 1, wherein the extraction column (C) is a vertical extraction column.
