Abstract
A gaseous fuel injector extends along an axial direction (X-X') and comprises: - a slidably mounted needle (2) for controlling the outlet opening (12); - an axially movable armature element (3) between an open position, in which it rests on one end (20) of the needle with the needle (2) in the open position, a rest position, in which it rests on the end (20) of the needle with the needle (2) in the closed position, and an overtravel position, in which it is disengaged from the end (20) of the needle in the closed position; - the fuel injector further comprising damping means (7) including a first chamber (70) and further comprising distribution means (71) between the first chamber (70) and a conduit (10), open in the closed position of the armature element (3), but restricted in the overtravel position of the element reinforcement (3).
