Refrigerator appliance

Abstract

A refrigerator 202 comprises a cabinet 206 having a rear side and a door 208 opposite the rear side at a front of the cabinet. An insulated panel 230 disposed at the rear side of the cabinet comprises an integrally moulded first shelf support 232 supporting a rear end (219, fig 4) of a shelf 218. A second shelf support 236 spaced from the first shelf support supports a front (221) and / or side of the shelf (figs 5a – 5d), and wherein the second shelf support comprises a rail 237 having a plurality of attachment positions 238 for a clip 240 to support the shelf. The first shelf support may comprise a plurality of integrally adjacent moulded support surfaces 234 spaced apart by recesses 235 sized to receive the shelf. The second shelf support may comprise a first vertical rail 237 and second horizontal rail (278, fig 3) disposed adjacent a doorpost. The attachment positions may comprise openings in the vertical rail and the clip comprises two protruding arms (244) attachable to respective openings in the rail. The refrigerator may be a back bar type and the shelf arrangement simplifies and reduces installation time, reduces component numbers and maximises storage space.
