Adaptor interface for protective equipment

Abstract

An adaptor interface 100 for forming a seal between a respirator mask and a protective suit is formed of an elastomeric material. It comprises two surfaces, a first surface 102 for sealing engagement with an outer surface of the respirator mask, and a second surface 104 shaped for sealing engagement with the protective suit. The first surface 102 can be an inner surface. The second surface 104 can include a pair of groove channels 106 located on either side of a visor (202, fig 2) when mounted on a respirator mask (200, fig 2). Each of the channels 106 is defined between a pair of ridges protruding from the outer surface 104 of the adaptor interface 100. The channels 106 receive the edge of a hood 400 of the protective suit. The adapter interface 100 forms a closed loop ring. Aperture can be provided for the mask’s straps.
