Abstract
Claims
1. A method of performing a L1 / L2 Triggered Mobility, LTM, cell switch in a telecommunication system, comprising the steps of:a User Equipment, UE, being configured with an LTM candidate cell configuration by receiving a reconfiguration message, via RRC, from a telecommunication network, the message including the LTM candidate cell configuration;applying the LTM candidate cell configuration for a target cell indicated in a received MAC Control Element, CE, upon receipt of an LTM triggering MAC CE from the network;performing LTM cell switch to the target cell upon the reception of LTM triggering MAC CE; andsending a reconfiguration complete message to the target cell during the LTM switch procedure.
2. The method of claim 1 wherein the message including the LTM candidate cell configuration is sent via Signalling Radio Bearer 1, SRB1;3. The method of any preceding claim wherein the UE sends a Measurement Report to the network before being configured.
4. The method of any preceding claim wherein the UE stores the LTM candidate cell configuration before sending the reconfiguration complete message.
5. The method of any preceding claim wherein MAC CE from the network includes a candidate configuration index of the target cell.
6. The method of any of claims 2 to 5 wherein if the LTM candidate cell configuration is sent via Signalling Radio Bearer 1, SRB1, then a RRCReconfgurationComplete message is sent to lower layers for transmission using the new configuration.
7. The method of any preceding claim wherein the UE is configured with a plurality of candidate cell configurations.
8. The method of any preceding claim wherein upon the network initiating the RRC reconfiguration procedure to the UE in RRC_CONNECTED mode, LTM configuration on a Master Cell Group, MCG, is only included when Access Stratum, AS, security has been activated and SRB2, with at least one Data Radio Bearer, DRB, are setup and not suspended.
9. Apparatus arranged to perform the method of any preceding claim.
10. The apparatus of claim 9 wherein the apparatus comprises a telecommunication network and at least one UE.
