Abstract

An information processing apparatus 10a-10d for a sailboat 1a-1d comprises a control section configured to generate position information of the sailboat 1a-1d, a transmitting section configured to transmit the position information and a receiving section configured to receive position information transmitted by at least one other information processing apparatus 10a-10d for a sailboat 1a-1d. The control section is configured to generate a position log using the generated position information and the received position information, and to store the position log. The information processing apparatus may be configured to communicate with and receive configuration from a mobile device. The apparatus may be configured to determine the sailboat location relative to another sailboat or object, and determine a collision or racing rule violation has occurred. Analysis of such information may be useful for sailors in determining their performance, for example during racing activities.
