Abstract

The product of this design relates to an andon (paper lantern). As shown in the front, back, and side views, the design features a rectangular cylindrical frame made of wood material, with patterned components made of wood material integrally formed on each side, and the exterior of these surfaces covered with a transparent paper material. Furthermore, as shown in the front view and reference view of the product in use, the pattern that emerges from the kumiko changes depending on the intensity and direction of the light shining on the product and the brightness of the installation location, making it suitable for a wide range of uses. Furthermore, even when not illuminated, the entire frame is covered with a paper material, making it usable as a simple interior design, as shown in the reference perspective view (4) showing the product in use.
