Abstract

[Use of the Article] This article is a holder for accurately positioning and temporarily securing gaskets used in ICF (ConFlat) flanges. [Function of the Article] This article is attached to the outer periphery of an ICF flange and holds the gasket in place, preventing it from falling or shifting, and facilitating and ensuring assembly. This allows for proper temporary securing of the gasket even when the flange surface is vertical. [Explanation of Configuration, etc.] This article has a roughly annular or partially divided structure and is designed to be detachably attached to the outer periphery of an ICF flange. The holder body has a support portion for holding the outer periphery of the gasket and is equipped with an elastic member or mechanical engagement means (e.g., a spring structure or clamp portion) for tightly fitting and engaging with the outer periphery of the flange. This configuration allows the gasket to be stably positioned between flanges even if the flanges do not have leak-check grooves, contributing to ensuring high airtightness in vacuum equipment. [Typical Usage] By attaching this article to the outer periphery of the flanges before inserting the gasket, the gasket is held in place. When the flanges are joined and fastened together in this state, the gasket undergoes plastic deformation, achieving an airtight joint. After the gasket is assembled, the item can be removed and reused. [Item description] The claws of this item are inserted between the flange bolts, so the claw width and shape are restricted by the bolt spacing, and it is inevitable that they will have a somewhat limited shape.
