Orbital reference markers

Abstract

This article is a trajectory fiducial marker that serves as a reference marker in determining the trajectory to a desired target region. Working in conjunction with a targeting system, this article can fix the trajectory reference and ensure that the equipment (e.g., an MRI or CT scanner) is properly aligned with the target region. This article can be used for purposes such as target delivery of treatment, holding of treatment equipment, and positioning of treatment equipment. In one embodiment, the targeting system may include a locking collar, a turret (e.g., a ball stem), and a base.
