Abstract
The article relating to the present design is a "wrist support" used for resting the wrist dorsiflexor muscles and maintaining a wrist dorsiflexed position. It consists of a bifurcated fixing band and a trifurcated fixing band, and hook-and-loop fasteners for fastening are attached to the ends of each fixing band and the base surface of the bifurcated fixing band. The hook-and-loop fastener attached to the base surface of the bifurcated fixing band has one or two sides open, allowing a spring support to be inserted through the opening and housed between the hook-and-loop fastener and the base of the bifurcated fixing band to reduce the burden on the dorsiflexor muscles. When wearing this article, first, the hook-and-loop fastener attached to the hand band located on the hand side of the bifurcated fixing band is fastened to the hook-and-loop fastener on the base surface of the bifurcated fixing band to form a loop the size of the hand circumference, and the part of the hand excluding the thumb is inserted into this loop. In this state, fasten the hook-and-loop fastener attached to the wrist band located in the center of the three-pronged fixing band section and the hook-and-loop fastener attached to the forearm band located on the forearm side of the two-pronged fixing band section to the hook-and-loop fastener on the base surface of the two-pronged fixing band section, in that order. Then, fasten the hook-and-loop fastener attached to the hand band located on the hand side of the three-pronged fixing band section to the hook-and-loop fastener on the hand band of the two-pronged fixing band section, and further fasten the hook-and-loop fastener attached to the forearm band located on the forearm side of the three-pronged fixing band section to the hook-and-loop fastener on the forearm band of the two-pronged fixing band section. This results in the wearing state shown in reference figures 1 and 2, which illustrate the state of use. This "wrist supporter" is ambidextrous and can be used on either the right or left hand, and because the size is easily adjustable, it can be used regardless of gender or body type.
