Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a skin topical composition containing fractionally distilled tea tree oil. Here, the skin topical composition refers to skin care cosmetics such as face wash, lotion, cream, pack, etc., makeup cosmetics such as foundation, lipstick, mascara, etc., body care cosmetics such as body soap, slimming agent, UV care agent, bath agent, antiperspirant, etc., fragrance cosmetics such as perfume, cologne, etc., including legal cosmetics, quasi-drugs, and medicines. [Background technology]

[0002] There is a deep connection between sleep and beauty. Growth hormone secreted from the anterior pituitary gland during sleep repairs skin cells and maintains normal cell turnover.

[0003] During sleep, we alternate between non-REM and REM sleep, and it is said that growth hormone is secreted during the deep type of non-REM sleep.

[0004] On the other hand, melatonin, which is mainly synthesized and secreted in the pineal gland in humans, is called the sleep hormone and acts as a signal to inform the person when it is time to rest because it is secreted only at night. Melatonin is also known to have antioxidant properties.

[0005] Melatonin is synthesized in the body at night, but this level decreases with age. It is also known that exposure to blue light emitted from smartphones and PCs before sleep suppresses melatonin synthesis, which is one of the causes of insomnia.

[0006] A decrease in melatonin, which also has antioxidant properties, can lead to a weakening of the skin's defense against cell damage, which can lead to skin aging such as wrinkles.

[0007] Topical skin preparations that target melatonin are being researched, as they are expected to not only regulate sleep cycles but also have anti-aging effects. [Prior art documents] [Non-patent literature]

[0008] [Non-Patent Document 1] Atsuhiko Hattori Melatonin and Aging Comparative Physiology and Biochemistry Vol.34 No.1(2017) pp.2-11 DISCLOSURE OF THEINVENTION [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0009] Against this background, research has been conducted into ingredients that improve sleep cycles and enhance the action of melatonin, which has anti-aging effects through its antioxidant power, and topical skin preparations have been developed, but so far the results have not been entirely satisfactory. [Means for solving the problem]

[0010] The present invention has been made under the above circumstances, and provides a novel skin topical composition that promotes gene expression involved in melatonin synthesis and improves skin condition by incorporating fractionated distilled tea tree oil.

[0011] Claim 1 of the invention is a skin topical composition characterized by containing fractionally distilled tea tree oil.

[0012] Claim 2 of the present invention relates to the composition for external use on the skin according to claim 1, in which the fractionally distilled tea tree oil is 0.01 to 95.0% by mass. Effect of the Invention

[0013] The fractionally distilled tea tree oil of the present invention contains more sesquiterpenes than regular tea tree oil, and this fractionally distilled tea tree oil promotes gene expression related to melatonin synthesis, which improves the sleep cycle and helps maintain healthy skin condition, and also exerts anti-aging effects due to its antioxidant power. [Brief description of the drawings]

[0014] [Figure 1] Figure 1 shows the effect of the fractionally distilled tea tree oil of the present invention in promoting gene expression related to melatonin synthesis. It can be seen that when commercially available fractionally distilled tea tree oil was added at 1%, it promoted gene expression related to melatonin synthesis, including ASMTL, compared to the placebo. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0015] The present invention will now be described in detail. The fractionally distilled tea tree oil used in the present invention is prepared by fractionally distilling tea tree oil to be rich in sesquiterpenes. This is available as a triheptanoin solution under the commercial product "REGENIGHT" from Southern Cross Botanicals, Australia.

[0016] The amount of the fractionally distilled tea tree oil of the present invention is 0.01 to 95.0% by mass, preferably 0.1 to 10.0% by mass, based on the total amount of the skin topical composition using the above-mentioned commercially available raw materials. When preparing a normal skin topical composition, if the amount is less than 0.01% by mass, the anti-aging effect by promoting gene expression related to melatonin synthesis is not exhibited. It is possible to incorporate more than 10.0% by mass up to 95.0% by mass, but this is not preferred because the effect corresponding to the amount incorporated gradually becomes saturated.

[0017] The effect of the skin topical preparation composition of the present invention is to improve the sleep cycle and promote the secretion of growth hormone by promoting the expression of genes involved in melatonin synthesis, and to reduce damage to cells and maintain healthy skin due to the antioxidant power of the synthesized melatonin. Therefore, further effects can be expected by combining the skin topical preparation composition of the present invention with an antioxidant component. Such components include vitamin A and its derivatives, vitamin C and its derivatives, vitamin D and its derivatives, plant extracts, etc.

[0018] In addition to the above essential components, the skin topical preparation composition of the present invention may contain other components that are usually used in skin topical preparation compositions such as cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
