DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0013] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to the drawings. In this disclosure, a multifunction peripheral that executes jobs in each operation mode such as copy and image transmission will be described as one form of an image processing device. Note that the following embodiment is an example for explaining the present disclosure, and the technical scope of the description described in the claims is not limited to the following description.

[0014] [1 First embodiment] The first embodiment is a mode in which, when history information is called up, the history information to be displayed is narrowed down and displayed.

[0015] [1.1 Functional configuration] Fig. 1 is an external perspective view illustrating the overall configuration of a multifunction device 10 according to a first embodiment. Fig. 2 is a functional configuration diagram of the multifunction device 10. The multifunction device 10 includes a control unit 11, a display unit 13, an operation input unit 15, a communication unit 17, an image forming unit 19, an image reading unit 21, and a storage unit 23.

[0016] The control unit 11 controls the entire multifunction device 10. The control unit 11 is configured, for example, with one or more arithmetic units (CPUs (Central Processing Units) and the like). The control unit 11 realizes its functions by calling and executing various programs stored in the storage unit 23.

[0017] The display unit 13 displays various types of information to a user, etc. The display unit 13 can be configured, for example, by an LCD (Liquid crystal display) or an organic EL (Electro-luminescence) display, etc.

[0018] The operation input unit 15 accepts information input by a user or the like. The operation input unit 15 can be configured with hard keys (e.g., a numeric keypad), buttons, and the like. The operation input unit 15 can be configured as a touch panel that allows input via the display unit 13. In this case, the input method of the touch panel can be, for example, a resistive film type, an infrared type, an electromagnetic induction type, or a capacitance type.

[0019] The communication unit 17 has a wired / wireless interface or both for communicating with other devices via a network (NW) such as a LAN (Local area network), a WAN (Wide area network), the Internet, a telephone line, a fax line, etc.

[0020] The image forming unit 19 forms an image based on the image data on paper as a recording medium. The image forming unit 19 feeds paper from a paper feed unit 25, forms an image based on the image data on the paper, and then discharges the paper to a paper discharge unit 27. The image forming unit 19 can be configured, for example, by a laser printer that uses an electrophotographic method. The image forming unit 19 forms an image using toner supplied from a toner cartridge (not shown) that corresponds to a toner color (for example, C (cyan), M (magenta), Y (yellow), and K (black)).

[0021] The image reading unit 21 generates image data by scanning and reading an original image to be read. The image reading unit 21 can be configured as a scanner device equipped with an image sensor such as a CCD (Charge Coupled Device) or a CIS (Contact Image Sensor). There are no limitations on the configuration of the image reading unit 21 as long as it generates image data by reading a reflected light image from an original image with an image sensor.

[0022] The storage unit 23 stores various programs and various data necessary for the operation of the multifunction device 10. The storage unit 23 can be configured with a storage device such as a random access memory (RAM), a hard disk drive (HDD), a solid state drive (SSD), or a read only memory (ROM).

[0023] In the first embodiment, the storage unit 23 stores a job execution program 231, a history information processing program 232, a display processing program 233, and a display priority determination program 234, and reserves a setting value storage area 235 and a history information storage area 236.

[0024] The job execution program 231 is a program that the control unit 11 calls in order to execute a job in each operation mode such as copy mode, image transmission mode, etc. The control unit 11 that called the job execution program 231 executes a job by controlling the job execution units involved in the execution of the job in each operation mode such as the display unit 13, the operation input unit 15, the communication unit 17, the image forming unit 19, the image reading unit 21, etc. In addition, the control unit 11 that called the job execution program 231 executes various jobs based on setting values included in the history information.

[0025] The history information processing program 232 is a program that the control unit 11 calls when, for example, acquiring setting values related to job execution, generating history information, and performing various processes on the history information. The control unit 11 that called the history information processing program 232 acquires setting values related to job execution and stores them in the setting value storage area 235. The control unit 11 also generates history information based on the acquired setting values and stores them in the history information storage area 236.

[0026] The display processing program 233 is a program that the control unit 11 calls when displaying a history information display screen that displays history information, a setting screen for receiving input of various setting values related to job execution, or a home screen for receiving switching of each operation mode, etc. In addition, the control unit 11 that has called the display processing program 233 displays history information on the history information display screen based on a display priority that will be described later.

[0027] The display priority determination program 234 is a program that the control unit 11 calls when history information is called. The control unit 11 that called the display priority determination program 234 changes the display priority of the history information to be displayed on the history information display screen according to a predetermined condition when the history information is called. The display priority according to the present disclosure can be expressed as an identifier that indicates whether the display on the history information display screen is "Yes (YES)" or "No (NO)" according to a predetermined condition. The identifier is not particularly limited, but for example, the value "1" can be used when the display is "Yes" and the value "0" can be used when the display is "No", or the values can be reversed. The display priority may also be a flag that means the display is "Yes". In the first embodiment, the control unit 11 that called the display priority determination program 234 changes the display priority according to the operation mode of the job execution unit under each operation mode when the history information is called. The operation mode will be described later.

[0028] The setting value storage area 235 is a storage area for storing setting values related to the execution of a job. The setting values include, for example, setting values set by a user such as color mode, document, paper selection, resolution, format, density, etc., and setting values such as device initial values held by the device itself.

[0029] The history information storage area 236 is a storage area for storing history information in a data table format or the like. The history information according to the present disclosure can be configured as history information to which an identifier such as a job ID for uniquely identifying information is added to information consisting of a combination of information on the execution history of a job, such as execution date and time, operation mode (job type), operation mode, etc., and some or all of the setting values stored in the setting value storage area 235. The history information stored in the history information storage area 236 is displayed on a history information screen, and is called up as appropriate when a job based on the history information is executed.

[0030] Here, the history information according to the present disclosure will be described with reference to Fig. 3 and Fig. 4. Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 are diagrams for explaining an example of the configuration of history information. For convenience of explanation, the history information (Fig. 3) in which the operation mode is copying and the history information (Fig. 4) in which the operation mode is image transmission are shown separately, but the history information exemplified in Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 is the history information related to jobs executed in either the operation mode of copying or image transmission, expressed in descending order of job ID.

[0031] Job ID "1" in FIG. 3 is an example of history information related to the operation mode of copy. The history information of job ID "1" includes, as information related to the execution history, the execution date and time "2020 / 04 / 01 16:20", the operation mode (job type) "copy", and the operation mode "simple". Here, the value of the operation mode is a value indicating in which mode the job execution unit executed the job under each operation mode, either the normal mode as the normal operation mode via the normal screen, or the simple mode as the simple operation mode via a simple screen that is a simplification of the normal screen.

[0032] In addition, the history information for job ID "1" includes the following setting values: color mode "full color," original "automatic," paper selection "tray 1," duplex copy "single-sided to single-sided," magnification "100%," copy density "automatic," sort / group "automatic," staple / punch "OFF," number of copies "1 copy," etc. Note that the setting values related to the copy operation mode are merely examples, and the setting values related to the present disclosure are not limited to the setting values shown in FIG. 3.

[0033] Job ID "2" in FIG. 4 is an example of history information in which the operation mode is image transmission. The history information of job ID "2" includes, as information regarding the execution history, the execution date and time "2020 / 04 / 01 16:15", the operation mode (job type) "scan", and the operation mode "simple". Note that the image transmission according to the present disclosure includes simple scan and e-mail as operation modes. Here, the value of the operation mode is a value indicating in which mode the job execution unit executed the job: normal mode via the normal screen in the e-mail operation mode, or simple scan via a simple scan screen that is a simplified version of the normal screen in the simple scan operation mode.

[0034] In addition, the history information of job ID "2" includes the following setting values: color mode "Auto / Black and White Binary", resolution "200 dpi x 200 dpi", format "PDF", original "single-sided to single-sided", density "Auto", destination "aaaaa@sample.com; bbbbb@sample.com", ... Note that the setting values related to the image transmission operation mode are merely examples, and the setting values related to the present disclosure are not limited to the setting values shown in FIG. 4.

[0035] In addition, the identifier representing the display priority may be included in the history information as part of the setting value, or, for example, the job ID and the identifier may be associated with each other and managed in a separate management table (not shown).

[0036] [1.2 Processing flow] Next, a process flow according to the first embodiment will be described. Fig. 5 is a flowchart for explaining the process by the multifunction device 10. In the following description, it is assumed that a job such as copy or image transmission is executed as an operation mode, and history information related to the job is stored in the history information storage area 236 in the manner exemplified in Fig. 3 or Fig. 4.

[0037] First, the control unit 11 accepts an instruction input for calling up history information from the user. When the instruction input for calling up history information is received, the control unit 11 calls up the display priority determination program 234 (step S10).

[0038] The control unit 11, which has called the display priority determination program 234, determines whether the called screen on which the instruction input has been received is a home screen (step S20).

[0039] If the called screen is the home screen, the control unit 11 changes the display priority of all the history information stored in the history information storage area 236 to "OK" (step S20; Yes→step S30).

[0040] Next, the control unit 11 calls the display processing program 233, and displays the history information whose display priority has been changed to "OK", that is, all the history information, on the display unit 13, and ends the process (step S40).

[0041] On the other hand, if the called screen on which the history information call instruction input is accepted is not the home screen, the control unit 11 judges whether or not the called screen is a simplified screen (step S20; No→step S50).

[0042] If the called screen is a simple screen related to a specific operation mode, the control unit 11 changes the display priority of the history information stored in the history information storage area 236, in which the operation mode value corresponding to the operation mode is “simple”, to “OK” (step S50; Yes → step S60).

[0043] Next, the control unit 11 calls the display processing program 233, and displays only the history information whose display priority has been changed to "OK", that is, the simple mode history information, on the display unit 13, and ends the process (step S70).

[0044] In addition, if the called screen is not a simple screen related to a specific operation mode, the control unit 11 changes the display priority of the history information stored in the history information storage area 236, in which the operation mode value corresponding to the operation mode is “Normal”, to “Yes” (Step S50; No → Step S80).

[0045] Next, the control unit 11 calls the display processing program 233, and displays only the history information whose display priority has been changed to "OK", that is, only the history information in the normal mode, on the display unit 13, and ends the process (step S90).

[0046] [1.3 Example of operation] Next, an operation example of the first embodiment will be described. The multifunction device 10 according to the present disclosure detects pressing of each button area partitioned on the screen via a touch panel type operation input unit 15 provided on the screen of the display unit 13, and enables various inputs by the user. Fig. 6(a) shows one configuration example of the home screen W10. The home screen W10 is a basic screen that is displayed on the display unit 13, for example, when the power is turned on, during standby, when recovering from a sleep state, etc., and accepts operation inputs by the user.

[0047] The home screen W10 includes a job selection button B10, a job status check button B12, and a display switch button B14.

[0048] The job selection buttons B10 accept the selection of a job or various processes desired by the user. For example, the user can display a simple screen for performing copying in a simple mode by pressing a "simple copy" button B101 included in the job selection buttons B10. Also, the user can display a normal screen for performing copying in a normal mode by pressing a "copy" button B103. Similarly, the user can display a simple screen for performing scanning in a simple mode by pressing a "simple scan" button B105. Also, the user can display a normal screen for performing e-mail transmission in a normal mode by pressing an "E-mail" button B107.

[0049] The job selection button B10 also includes a "recent jobs" button B109 that accepts an input of an instruction to call up history information. When the "recent jobs" button B109 is pressed by the user, the control unit 11 displays a history information display screen. The process from pressing the "recent jobs" button B109 to displaying the history information display screen corresponds to the process from step S10 to step S40 in FIG. 5.

[0050] Incidentally, Fig. 6(a) shows an example in which eight types of job / processing items, "easy copy", "easy fax", "easy scan", "e-mail", "recent jobs", "shared folder", "scan and save", and "copy", are displayed as job / processing items selectable via the job / processing selection button B10, but other job / processing items that the multifunction device 10 can achieve can be displayed by pressing the display switch button B14. The configuration of the job / processing selection button B10 shown in Fig. 6(a) is merely an example, and is not limited to the items shown in Fig. 6(a).

[0051] The job status confirmation button B12 is a button for receiving an instruction to display a confirmation screen for the execution status of a job.

[0052] FIG. 6B shows an example of the configuration of the history information display screen W20 displayed by the control unit 11 when the user presses the "Recent Jobs" button B109.

[0053] The history information display screen W20 includes a history information display area R10 and a delete button B16. The history information display area R10 is a display area for displaying history information whose display priority has been changed to "OK" by the control unit 11. Fig. 6(b) shows an example in which the display priority of all history information stored in the history information storage area 236 has been changed to "OK" because the screen on which the user called up the history information was the home screen.

[0054] When the history information display screen W20 is called up via the home screen W10, the operation mode including the operation mode (job type) cannot be specified. Therefore, the control unit 11 displays the history information related to all the operation modes. In this case, the control unit 11 displays all the history information stored in the history information storage area 236 in descending order from the most recent history information. FIG. 6(b) is an example in which the history information related to five jobs, simple copy, simple scan, simple scan, copy, and copy, is displayed in chronological order from the top to the bottom. The history information illustrated here corresponds to the history information of the jobs ID "1" to ID "5" illustrated in FIG. 3 and FIG. 4. Incidentally, FIG. 6(b) is an example in which the number of pieces of history information that can be displayed simultaneously is five, but the number of pieces of history information that can be displayed simultaneously can be appropriately set and changed according to the display capacity of the display unit 13. If it is difficult to display all the history information simultaneously, it is also possible to provide a scroll bar SB10 as shown in FIG. 6(b) and display lower-level history information sequentially as the user scrolls.

[0055] Here, each display area in the history information display area R10 displays the operation mode shown in the dashed line frame in the figure, the job execution date and time, and some of the setting values. Fig. 6(b) is an example in which, for history information in which the operation mode is copying, three setting value items, paper selection, double-sided copying, and staple / punch, are displayed as display items. Also, for history information in which the operation mode is image transmission, it is an example in which a setting value item for the delivery destination is displayed as a display item.

[0056] The history information display area R10 also includes an operation mode display area R101. The operation mode display area R101 visually displays which operation mode the displayed history information is based on. For example, in FIG. 6(b), the history information displayed in the history information display area R10 relates to all operation modes (within the dashed-dotted frame in the figure). Therefore, by highlighting the underlined part of "all" in the operation mode display area R101 with a thick line, it is indicated that the displayed history information relates to all operation modes. In addition to this example, as a method of highlighting, for example, it is also possible to make the character font, character size, or character color of the character display part such as "all" different from that of the normal display part, or to highlight the character display part by making the background color of the character display part a different background color.

[0057] Each piece of history information displayed in the history information display area R10 is configured to be selectable by the user. By selecting a desired piece of history information, the user can easily execute a job based on that history information or a job similar to that.

[0058] The delete button B16 accepts an instruction to delete history information from the history information display area R10. When the user presses the delete button B16, the control unit 11 stops displaying the history information in the history information display area R10.

[0059] 7A shows an example of the configuration of the simplified screen W30 when the operation mode is copy and the operation mode is simple (simple copy). The simplified screen W30 can be displayed by pressing the "simple copy" button B101 on the home screen W10.

[0060] The simplified screen W30 has a simpler screen configuration, with limited setting value items that can be set by the user, compared to the normal screen described in the next figure. The simplified screen W30 includes a setting value button B18a, an operation control button B20a, a start button B22a, a detailed settings button B24a, and a display switching button B26a.

[0061] The setting value button B18a accepts the selection and input of a setting value that can be set by the user via the simplified screen W30. For example, the user can set a setting value related to paper selection by pressing the paper selection button and selecting a desired setting value from items related to paper selection, such as "manual feed", "tray 1, 2, 3, etc." (not shown). FIG. 7(a) shows an example in which four setting value items, "paper selection", "double-sided copy", "magnification", and "staple / punch", are displayed as setting value items that can be set. Note that other setting value items can be displayed by pressing the display switch button B26a. Incidentally, the setting value displayed on the surface of each button of the setting value button B18a is displayed with the setting value of the applied setting history information reflected (FIG. 7(a) shows an example in which the setting value related to the history information of the job ID "9" in FIG. 3 is applied). It should be noted that the configuration of the setting value button B18a illustrated in FIG. 7(a) is merely an example, and the configuration is not limited to the items shown in FIG. 7(a).

[0062] The operation control buttons B20a include, for example, a "Reset" button, a "Preview" button, a "Number of Copies" button, and a "Recent Jobs" button B201a. For example, the "Reset" button accepts resetting of a setting value selected and input via the setting value button B18a, the "Number of Copies" button, etc. The "Preview" button accepts an instruction to display a preview image prior to execution of a copy job. The "Number of Copies" button accepts input of the number of copies. The "Recent Jobs" button B201a accepts input of an instruction to call up history information. When the "Recent Jobs" button B201a is pressed by a user, the control unit 11 displays a history information display screen. Note that the process from pressing the "Recent Jobs" button B201a to displaying the history information display screen corresponds to the process of steps S10, S20, and S50 to S70 in FIG. 5.

[0063] The start button B22a includes a black and white start button and a color start button. If a black and white copy is desired, the user presses the black and white start button. On the other hand, if a color copy is desired, the user presses the color start button. When the user presses either the black and white start button or the color start button, processing related to the copy job is executed.

[0064] The detailed settings button B24a accepts an instruction to switch to the normal screen, which will be described in the next figure.

[0065] 7(b) shows an example of the configuration of the history information display screen W40 displayed by the control unit 11 when the user presses the "Recent Jobs" button B201a. Note that the configuration of the history information display screen W40 is the same as that of the history information display screen W20 described above, and therefore the same reference numerals are used for the same parts.

[0066] FIG. 7B is an example of history information stored in the history information storage area 236, in which the display priority of history information having an operation mode value of "simple" has been changed to "fair."

[0067] In this case, the control unit 11 displays only the history information whose operation mode value is "simple" stored in the history information storage area 236 in descending order (within the dashed line frame in the figure). Fig. 7(b) is an example in which history information relating to five simple copy jobs is displayed in chronological order from top to bottom. Note that the history information illustrated here corresponds to the history information of jobs ID "1", ID "6", ID "9", ID "12" and ID "14" illustrated in Fig. 3.

[0068] 7(b), the history information being displayed in the history information display area R10 is for an operation mode of copying. Therefore, by highlighting the underlined portion of "copy" in the operation mode display area R101 with a thick line, the user can understand that the history information being displayed is related to the operation mode of copying.

[0069] However, if multiple pieces of history information displayed in the history information display area R10 have the same setting value, or if the displayed setting value is the same but the hidden setting value is different, it may be difficult to distinguish between these pieces of history information at a glance. In such cases, for example, an enlarged display function that displays the hidden setting value by selecting history information, or a comparison display function that allows the comparison display of the history information to be compared may be provided. In addition, if there are multiple pieces of history information with the same setting value, it is also possible to provide a function that preferentially displays only the history information related to the latest job and hides the other history information, or a function that sorts the history information based on the setting value.

[0070] 8A shows an example of the normal screen W50 when the operation mode is copy and the operation mode is normal (normal copy). The normal screen W50 can be displayed by pressing the "Copy" button B103 on the home screen W10.

[0071] The normal screen W50 is configured to enable all settings related to the execution of a copy job. The normal screen W50 includes a setting value button B18b, an operation control button B20b, and a start button B22b.

[0072] The setting value button B18b accepts the selection and input of a setting value that can be set by the user among the setting values included in the history information. For example, the user can set a setting value related to the color mode by pressing the color mode button and selecting a desired setting value from items related to color mode selection, such as "full color", "black and white", "monochrome", and "automatic (color / black and white)" (not shown). FIG. 8(a) shows an example in which seven setting value items, "color mode", "original", "paper selection", "double-sided copy", "magnification", "copy density", and "sort / group", are provided as setting value items that can be set. Incidentally, each setting value shown on the surface of the setting value button B18b is displayed with the setting value of the applied history information reflected (FIG. 8(a) shows an example in which the setting value related to the history information of job ID "4" in FIG. 3 is applied). Note that the configuration of the setting value button B18b shown in FIG. 8(a) is merely an example, and is not limited to the items shown in FIG. 8.

[0073] In addition to the above-mentioned setting value items, the setting value button B18b also has an "Other Functions" button. By pressing the "Other Functions" button, the user can call up setting value items other than the displayed setting value items and select / input setting values.

[0095] The setting value button B18d accepts the selection and input of a setting value that can be set by the user. For example, the user can set a setting value related to the color mode by pressing the color mode button and selecting a desired setting value from items related to color mode selection, such as "full color", "black and white", "single color", and "automatic (color / black and white)" (not shown). FIG. 10(a) shows an example in which five setting value items, "color mode", "resolution", "format", "original", and "density", are provided as setting value items that can be set. Incidentally, each setting value shown on the surface of the setting value button B18d is displayed with the setting value of the selected history information reflected (FIG. 10(a) shows an example in which the setting value related to the setting history information of the job ID "8" in FIG. 4 is applied). Note that the configuration of the setting value button B18d shown in FIG. 10(a) is merely an example, and is not limited to the items shown in FIG. 10(a).

[0096] In addition to the above-mentioned setting value items, the setting value button B18d also has an "Other Functions" button. By pressing the "Other Functions" button, the user can call up setting value items other than the displayed setting value items and select / input setting values.

[0097] The operation control button B20d includes a preview button, a reset button, and, for example, extended function buttons such as a "search global address book" button, a "call by search number" button, a "call program" button, etc. For example, by pressing the "search global address book" button, a destination for sending image data can be selected from the global address book.

[0098] The operation control buttons B20d also include a "recent jobs" button B201d and a simple settings button B24d. The "recent jobs" button B201d accepts input of an instruction to call up history information. When the "recent jobs" button B201d is pressed by a user, the control unit 11 displays a history information display screen. The processes from pressing the "recent jobs" button B201d to displaying the history information display screen correspond to the processes of steps S10, S20, S50, S80, and S90 in FIG. 5.

[0099] The start button B22d accepts input of an instruction to execute an image transmission job. When the start button B22d is pressed, the control unit 11 executes a process related to the image transmission job.

[0100] The destination display area R12d is a display area for displaying a destination as a transmission destination of image data that has been selected and input via an address book, transmission history, or direct input.

[0101] 10B shows an example of the configuration of the history information display screen W100 displayed by the control unit 11 when the user presses the "Recent Jobs" button B201d. Note that the configuration of the history information display screen W100 is the same as that of the history information display screen W20 described above, and therefore the same reference numerals are used for the same parts.

[0102] FIG. 10B is an example of history information stored in the history information storage area 236, in which the display priority of history information having an operation mode value of "normal" has been changed to "good."

[0103] In this case, the control unit 11 displays only the history information whose operation mode value is "normal" stored in the history information storage area 236 in descending order (within the dashed line frame in the figure). FIG. 10(b) is an example in which history information relating to five E-mail jobs is displayed in chronological order from top to bottom. Note that the history information illustrated here corresponds to the history information of jobs ID "8", ID "11", ID "13", ID "16" and ID "19" illustrated in FIG. 4.

[0104] 10(b), the history information being displayed in the history information display area R10 is for an operation mode of image transmission (save). Therefore, by highlighting the underlined portion of "send / save" in the operation mode display area R101 with a thick line, the user can understand that the history information being displayed is for the operation mode of image transmission.

[0105] As described above, according to the first embodiment, when calling up history information, it is possible to provide an image processing device or the like that is capable of improving the convenience of searching and selecting history information by changing the display priority of the history information depending on the operation mode and displaying it.

[0106] [2 Second embodiment] The second embodiment is an embodiment in which the narrowing down target of the history information to be displayed on the history information display screen is changed.

[0107] [2.1 Functional configuration] 11 is a functional configuration diagram of a multifunction device 30 according to the second embodiment. The multifunction device 30 includes a storage unit 33 instead of the storage unit 23 of the multifunction device 10 according to the first embodiment. Note that the configuration other than the storage unit 33 can be the same as that of the multifunction device 10 according to the first embodiment, and therefore the same components are denoted by the same reference numerals and the description thereof will be omitted.

[0108] The storage unit 33 stores a job execution program 231 , a history information processing program 232 , a display processing program 333 , and a display priority determination program 234 , and reserves a setting value storage area 235 and a history information storage area 236 .

[0109] The display processing program 333 includes a change unit display program 3331 in addition to the configuration of the display processing program 233 according to the first embodiment. The control unit 11 that called the change unit display program 3331 displays, as a change unit, a filter button that accepts selection of history information to be filtered on an operation mode basis on the history information display screen.

[0110] When the selection of history information is accepted via the narrowing down button, the control unit 11 changes the display priority of the selected history information to "OK" and also changes the display priority of the history information currently being displayed to "NO."

[0111] [2.2 Processing flow] Next, the flow of processing according to the second embodiment will be described with reference to the flowchart in Fig. 12. Note that, in describing Fig. 12, the processing will be described on the premise that the processing is started from a state in which history information in simple mode is displayed, but the processing may also be started from a state in which history information in normal mode is displayed.

[0112] The control unit 11 determines whether or not history information in the normal mode has been selected via the narrowing down button while the history information in the simple mode is being displayed (step S100→step S110).

[0113] When it is determined that the normal mode history information has been selected, the control unit 11 changes the display priority of the selected normal mode history information to "OK" and changes the display priority of the simple mode history information displayed in step S100 to "NO". Then, the control unit 11 displays only the normal mode history information whose display priority has been changed to "OK" and ends the process (step S110; Yes -> step S120).

[0114] On the other hand, when it is determined that the history information of the normal mode has not been selected, the control unit 11 determines whether or not the history information of all the operation modes has been selected (step S110; No→step S130).

[0115] When it is determined that the history information of all operation modes has been selected, the control unit 11 changes the display priority of the history information of the normal mode to "OK." Then, the control unit 11 displays the history information of the simple mode and the history information of the normal mode, which have the display priority of "OK," and ends the process (step S130; Yes→step S140).

[0116] If it is determined that the history information of all operation modes has not been selected, the control unit 11 does not change the display priority of the history information, and continues to display only the history information of the simple mode (step S130; No→step S150).

[0117] [2.3 Example of operation] Next, an operation example of the second embodiment will be described below. Fig. 13 shows an operation example in which the history information display screen W41 displaying the history information of simple copying is changed to the history information display screen W61 displaying the history information of copying.

[0118] As shown in FIG. 13(a), a history information display screen W41 that displays history information of simple copying is provided with a filter button B281 that accepts selection of history information to be filtered on an operation mode basis.

[0119] 13(b), when the user presses the narrow down button B281, a pull-down menu is displayed downward on the screen. In this operation example, the user can select any one of the history information items "All Copy Jobs", "Copy", or "Simple Copy", and the example shows that the history information "Copy" has been selected.

[0120] Fig. 13(c) is an example of the history information display screen W61 that is displayed when the user presses the narrow down button B281 and selects "copy" as the history information. As shown within the dashed line frame in Fig. 13(c), the history information to be narrowed down has been changed from simple copy history information to copy history information.

[0121] FIG. 14 is a diagram for explaining an example of the operation of changing the history information to be narrowed down from the history information display screen W81 that displays the history information of simple scan to the history information display screen W101 that displays the history information of E-mail.

[0122] As shown in FIG. 14(a), a history information display screen W81 that displays history information of simple scans is provided with a filter button B282 that accepts selection of history information to be filtered on an operation mode basis.

[0123] 14(b), when the user presses the narrow down button B282, a pull-down menu is displayed downward on the screen. In this operation example, the user can select any one of the following history information items: "All sent / saved", "E-mail", "Fax" or "Simple scan". The example shows that "E-mail" has been selected.

[0124] Fig. 14(c) is an example of the history information display screen W101 that is displayed when the user presses the narrow down button B282 and selects "E-mail" as the history information. As shown within the dashed line frame in Fig. 14(c), the history information to be narrowed down has been changed from simple scan history information to E-mail history information.

[0125] Fig. 15(a) is an example of the history information display screen W110 that is displayed when the user presses the narrow down button B281 from the state shown in Fig. 13(a) and selects "all copy jobs" as the history information. As shown within the dashed line frame in Fig. 15(a), the history information to be narrowed down has been changed from simple copy history information to all copy job history information.

[0126] Similarly, Fig. 15(b) is an example of the history information display screen W120 that is displayed when the user presses the narrowing down button B282 from the state of Fig. 14(a) and selects "all sent / saved" as the history information. As shown within the dashed line frame in Fig. 15(b), the history information to be narrowed down has been changed from simple scan history information to all sent / saved history information.

[0127] 13 to 15, the narrowing down buttons B281 and B282 are configured to narrow down the options in an operation mode related to a single operation mode such as copy or image transmission. However, the narrowing down buttons can also be configured to narrow down the options in an operation mode related to multiple operation modes such as broadcast transmission.

[0128] FIG. 16 is a diagram for explaining an example of an operation in a case where a narrowed-down target of history information to be displayed on a history information display screen W21 called up from a home screen W10 is changed.

[0129] Pressing the "Recent Jobs" button B109 on the home screen W10 shown in Fig. 16(a) displays the history information display screen W21 shown in Fig. 16(b). Note that when the history information display screen W21 is displayed via the home screen W10, it is not possible to specify the operation mode including the operation mode (job type). Therefore, the control unit 11 displays history information related to all operation modes.

[0130] For the history information display screen W21 called up from the home screen W10, by providing a narrowing down button B283 as shown in FIG. 16(b), it is possible to change from the history information display screen W21 to a history information display screen that displays specific history information.

[0131] In this case, as shown in Fig. 16(c), the narrowing down button B283 displays selectable operation modes of "All", "Copy", "Easy Copy", "Email", and "Easy Scan" so that specific history information can be displayed. Note that it is also possible to select a combination of multiple of these operation modes, such as a combination of "Easy Copy" and "Easy Scan".

[0132] As described above, according to the second embodiment, it is possible to provide an image processing device or the like that can improve the convenience of searching and selecting history information by changing the narrowing down target of history information to be displayed on the history information display screen.

[0133] [3 Third embodiment] The third embodiment is a mode in which, when the number of pieces of history information to be displayed on the history information display screen does not reach a predetermined number, history information in a different operation mode is supplemented and displayed.

[0134] [3.1 Functional configuration] The functional configuration of the multifunction device according to the third embodiment can be the same as that of the multifunction device 30 according to the second embodiment, so a description of the functional configuration of the third embodiment will be omitted here.

[0135] [3.2 Processing flow] The flow of processing in the third embodiment will be described with reference to the flowchart in Fig. 17. Note that, in describing Fig. 17, the explanation will be given on the premise that the processing is started from an instruction to display history information in simple mode, but the processing may also be started from an instruction to display history information in normal mode.

[0136] When a display instruction for the history information in the simple mode is input, the control unit 11 judges whether the number of pieces of history information in the simple mode is equal to or larger than the display number (step S160→step S170). Here, the display number means the number of pieces of history information that can be displayed on the history information display screen. In this case, the number of pieces of history information that can be displayed may be the number of pieces of displayable history information that can be simultaneously displayed on the history information display screen, or may be the number of pieces of displayable history information that can be displayed on the history information display screen. That is, as illustrated in the history information display screen W20 in FIG. 6 and the like, for example, when the number of pieces of history information that can be simultaneously displayed is five, the number of pieces of history information that can be displayed can be set to five. In addition, when the history information located at a lower level can be displayed by a scroll operation using the scroll bar SB10, and the number of pieces of history information located at a lower level is, for example, five, it is also possible to set the number of pieces of history information that can be displayed as ten in total, including the number of pieces of history information that can be simultaneously displayed, which is five. On the other hand, the display number may be set based on the number of pieces of history information stored in the history information storage area 236. It should be noted that the specific number of items displayed as examples given here is merely an example, and the number of items displayed is not limited to this description.

[0137] When the number of pieces of history information in the simple mode is equal to or greater than the number to be displayed, the control unit 11 displays the history information in the simple mode on the history information display screen, and ends the process (step S170; Yes→step S180).

[0138] On the other hand, if the number of pieces of history information in the simple mode does not reach the number required for display, the control unit 11 determines whether or not there is any history information in the normal mode that can be displayed (step S170; No→step S190).

[0139] If there is normal mode history information that can be displayed, the control unit 11 changes the display priority of the normal mode history information to "OK." Then, the control unit 11 displays the normal mode history information following the simple mode history information, and ends the process (step S190; Yes -> step S200).

[0140] On the other hand, if there is no normal mode history information that can be displayed, such as when no normal mode history information is stored in the history information storage area 236 or when the normal mode history information stored in the history information storage area 236 has a display restriction, the control unit 11 displays only the simple mode history information and terminates the process (step S190; No -> step S180).

[0141] [3.3 Example of operation] Next, an operation example of the third embodiment will be described. Fig. 18(a) is an operation example in which, when the number of pieces of simple copy history information displayed on the history information display screen W42 is less than a predetermined number (total number of items displayed), copy history information of a different operation mode is complemented and displayed. Fig. 18(b) is an operation example in which, when the number of pieces of copy history information displayed on the history information display screen W62 is less than a predetermined number, simple copy history information of a different operation mode is complemented and displayed.

[0142] For example, if the number of items that can be displayed on the history information display screen is 10, but there are only three pieces of simple copy history information, the control unit 11 determines whether there is any normal mode history information that can be displayed. If the result of the determination is that there are the remaining seven pieces of normal mode history information, the control unit 11 displays the normal copy history information on the history information display screen W42 following the simple copy history information (within the dashed line frame in the figure), as shown in Fig. 18(a).

[0143] Similarly, for example, if the number of items that can be displayed on the history information display screen is 10, but there are only three pieces of normal copy history information, the control unit 11 determines whether there is any simple mode history information that can be displayed. If the result of the determination is that there are the remaining seven pieces of simple mode history information, the control unit 11 displays the simple copy history information on the history information display screen W62 following the normal copy history information (within the dashed line frame in the figure), as shown in Fig. 18(b).

[0144] Fig. 19 shows an example of an operation in which the home screen W10 is used as a screen for calling up history information, and when the number of history information items displayed on the history information display screen is less than a predetermined number, history information items in different operation modes are supplemented and displayed. Note that Figs. 19(a) and (b) show the same state as that shown in Figs. 16(a) and (b).

[0145] As in the example in FIG. 16, the history information display screen W22 called up from the home screen W10 can be changed to a history information display screen that displays specific history information by providing a narrowing down button B284 as shown in FIG. 19(b).

[0146] In this case, as illustrated in FIG. 19(c), the narrowing down button B284 displays selectable operation modes of “All”, “Copy Priority”, “Simple Copy Priority”, “E-mail Priority”, and “Simple Scan Priority” so as to enable the prioritized display of specific history information.

[0147] For example, when "copy priority" is selected even though the maximum number of items that can be displayed on the history information display screen is 10, if only three pieces of copy history information exist and the remaining seven pieces of simple copy history information exist, the control unit 11 will display the simple copy history information following the copy history information.

[0148] In addition, if there are, for example, only two pieces of simple copy history information and five pieces of image transmission history information (simple scanner or e-mail) with different operating modes (job types), the control unit 11 may display the history information related to the simple scanner or e-mail image transmission following the copy history information and simple copy history information.

[0149] As described above, according to the third embodiment, when the number of pieces of history information to be displayed on the history information display screen is less than a predetermined number, it is possible to provide an image processing device or the like that is capable of improving the convenience of searching and selecting history information by complementing and displaying history information in a different operation mode.

[0150] The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and various modifications are possible. In other words, the technical scope of the present invention also includes embodiments obtained by combining technical means that are appropriately modified within the scope of the gist of the present invention.

[0151] Although the above-described embodiments are described separately for convenience of explanation, they may be combined and executed within a technically feasible range.

[0152] In addition, the programs that run on each device in the embodiments are programs that control the CPU and the like (programs that make a computer function) so as to realize the functions of the above-mentioned embodiments. Information handled by these devices is temporarily stored in a temporary storage device (e.g., RAM) during processing, and is then stored in various storage devices such as ROMs (Read Only Memories) and HDDs, and is read, modified, and written by the CPU as necessary.

[0153] Here, the recording medium for storing the program may be any of semiconductor media (e.g., ROM, non-volatile memory cards, etc.), optical recording media, magneto-optical recording media (e.g., DVD (Digital Versatile Disc), MO (Magneto Optical Disc), MD (Mini Disc), CD (Compact Disc), BD (Blu-ray Disk (registered trademark), etc.)), magnetic recording media (e.g., magnetic tape, flexible disk, etc.). Furthermore, not only are the functions of the above-mentioned embodiments realized by executing the loaded program, but the functions of the present invention may also be realized by processing in cooperation with an operating system or other application programs, etc., based on instructions from the program.
