Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a hydraulic block for a hydraulic unit for an electrohydraulic dual-system non-human-powered brake system, comprising the features of the preamble of claim 1. [Background technology]

[0002] An electrohydraulic non-human-powered brake device generates hydraulic brake pressure to operate hydraulic wheel brakes without human power, and for this purpose, for example, a non-human-powered piston is slid in a non-human-powered cylinder by an electric motor via a screw transmission mechanism.

[0003] Patent Document 1 discloses an electrohydraulic dual-system non-human-powered brake device having a hydraulic block, the hydraulic block including a main brake cylinder operable by muscle power and a non-human-powered cylinder, the non-human-powered cylinder being arranged axially parallel to the main brake cylinder. The non-human-powered cylinder has a non-human-powered cylinder bore, in which two non-human-powered pistons arranged one behind the other in the axial direction are arranged axially slidably, as is known from a dual-system main brake cylinder. Unlike the main brake cylinder operable by muscle power, in order to generate hydraulic brake pressure in the known vehicle brake device, one of the two non-human-powered pistons is slid by a non-human force, by an electric motor, in the non-human-powered cylinder bore via a cylindrical gear transmission mechanism as a reduction transmission mechanism and a ball screw mechanism. Two brake fluid containers are arranged on the hydraulic block, one of which is connected to the main brake cylinder in both brake circuits, and the other is connected to the non-powered cylinder in both brake circuits. [0004] [Patent Document 1] European Patent Application Publication No. 2641788 Summary of the Invention

[0005] The hydraulic block according to the present invention having the features of claim 1 is provided for a hydraulic unit for an electrohydraulic two-system non-human-powered brake device, and the hydraulic block is provided with components provided for this purpose to form a hydraulic unit. In order to generate hydraulic brake pressure non-humanly, the hydraulic block according to the present invention has a non-human-powered cylinder hole, in which two non-human-powered pistons are slidably arranged. In order to generate a brake force, a first non-human-powered piston of both non-human-powered pistons is slid in the non-human-powered cylinder hole of the hydraulic block by an electric motor via a screw transmission mechanism, preferably via a reduction transmission mechanism, and generates hydraulic brake pressure in a first brake circuit. A second non-human-powered piston of both non-human-powered pistons is biased by the brake pressure generated by the first non-human-powered piston, and thereby the second non-human-powered piston generates brake pressure in a second brake circuit. The function of the non-human powered cylinder bore corresponds to that of a conventional dual main brake cylinder, with the difference that the first non-human powered piston is slid by non-human power instead of muscle power.

[0006] The hydraulic block according to the invention comprises two connections for a brake fluid container, through which the brake fluid container communicates with the bore of the non-human cylinder. Each of the two connections is connected to the bore of the non-human cylinder of the hydraulic block through a check valve through which flow can pass from the connection for the brake fluid container in the direction of the non-human cylinder bore and through a bypass line hydraulically parallel to the check valve. The check valve allows the brake fluid to be sucked from the brake fluid container into the bore of the non-human cylinder when both bypass lines are closed during operation of the non-human cylinder, so that the brake fluid cannot be displaced from the bore of the non-human cylinder into the brake fluid container during operation of the non-human cylinder and so that hydraulic brake pressure can be generated in the bore of the non-human cylinder by the sliding of the non-human piston.

[0007] The hydraulic block or hydraulic unit according to the invention is provided for autonomous driving of motor vehicles on public roads up to automation levels 4 and 5. Level 4 refers to high automation, i.e. the driving of the vehicle is assumed by the system, which can request the vehicle driver to take over driving when it is no longer able to fulfil the driving task. Level 5 is the highest level and refers to full automation, which means that a vehicle driver is not required. Such vehicles can be devoid of a steering wheel and pedals, but this does not exclude their presence. The hydraulic block or hydraulic unit can also be used for lower automation levels and for non-autonomous driving.

[0008] Indeed, the hydraulic block according to the present invention is not provided with additional main brake cylinders or main brake cylinder holes, but the present invention does not exclude the provision of main brake cylinders or main brake cylinder holes in the hydraulic block.

[0009] The dependent claims are directed to developments and advantageous configurations of the invention defined in the independent claims.

[0010] All features disclosed in the specification and in the drawings may be realized in the embodiments of the invention, either alone or in principle in any combination. Configurations of the invention that do not have all the features of a claim or an embodiment of the invention, but only one or more of them, are in principle possible.

[0011] The invention will be explained in more detail below on the basis of an embodiment shown in the drawing. [Brief description of the drawings]

[0012] [Figure 1] FIG. 2 is an axial cross-sectional view passing through a non-human-powered cylinder hole of a hydraulic block of the hydraulic unit according to the present invention. [Diagram 2] FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the hydraulic unit shown in FIG. [Diagram 3] FIG. 11 is a side view of a hydraulic unit having a hydraulic block according to a second embodiment of the present invention. [Figure 4] FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the hydraulic unit shown in FIG. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0013] Consistent reference numbers are used throughout the drawings to refer to the same parts.

[0014] The hydraulic unit 1 shown in Figures 1 and 2 is provided for generating hydraulic brake pressure by non-human (external) force in a hydraulic two-path non-human brake system with slip control, not otherwise shown. A slip control unit (not shown) for slip control, which has, among other things, a solenoid valve and a hydraulic pump, is connected to the hydraulic unit 1 by a brake line, to which hydraulic wheel brakes of the vehicle braking system are connected by a brake line. The slip control unit (not shown) is used to regulate the brake pressure during slip control. Such slip controls are, for example, antilock braking systems, anti-slip regulation and / or vehicle dynamics control, for which the abbreviations ABS, ASR and / or FDR are commonly used. Slip controls are known and will not be described here.

[0015] The hydraulic unit 1 is provided for an electrohydraulic dual-path non-human brake system for vehicles driving autonomously on public roads up to automation levels 4 and 5. Level 4 refers to a high degree of automation, i.e. the driving of the vehicle is assumed by the system, which can request the vehicle driver to take over when it is no longer able to fulfill the driving tasks. Level 5 is the highest level and refers to full automation, which means that a vehicle driver is not required. Such vehicles can be devoid of a steering wheel and pedals, but this does not exclude their presence. It is self-evident that the hydraulic unit 1 according to the invention can also be used for non-human generation of brake pressure in vehicle brake systems for lower degrees of automation and even for non-autonomous driving.

[0016] Although manual (muscle) operation of the vehicle braking system is certainly not contemplated, the present invention does not exclude it.

[0017] The hydraulic unit 1 comprises a hydraulic block 2 according to the present invention, which is configured in a manner equivalent to a conventional main brake cylinder operable by muscle force, with the proviso that the hydraulic brake pressure operating the vehicle braking system is generated by non-human force instead of by muscle force.

[0018] The hydraulic block 2 forms or comprises a non-human cylinder 3 having a non-human cylinder bore 4, one end of which is closed (not shown) or pressure-tightly closed by a closure cap 5, and the other end of which is open.

[0019] In the non-human cylinder bore 4, two pistons, referred to here as non-human pistons 6, 7, are arranged axially one behind the other and axially slidable, and both non-human pistons are movable axially relative to each other.

[0020] In order to generate hydraulic brake pressure non-humanly, the first non-human piston 6, which is closer to the open end of the non-human cylinder bore 4, can slide in the non-human cylinder bore 4 in the axial direction via a screw transmission mechanism 9 by an electric motor 8, and in this embodiment, a planetary transmission mechanism is arranged between the electric motor 8 and the screw transmission mechanism 9 as a reduction transmission mechanism 10. The screw transmission mechanism 9 shown in FIG. 1 is a ball screw mechanism in this embodiment, but other screw transmission mechanisms or, in general, a rotation / translation conversion transmission mechanism that converts the rotational motion of the electric motor 8 into a translation that slides the first non-human piston 6 can also be used (not shown). In this embodiment, the first non-human-powered piston 6 is a tubular hollow piston closed at the end remote from the electric motor 8, in which the screw transmission mechanism 9 is partially arranged and from which the screw transmission mechanism 9 partially protrudes towards the electric motor 8.

[0021] The electric motor 8 is disposed coaxially with the non-human cylinder bore 4 in the hydraulic block 2 or the non-human cylinder 3 at the open end of the non-human cylinder bore 4. In this embodiment, the reduction transmission mechanism 10, shown as a circuit symbol in Figure 1, is disposed coaxially with the non-human cylinder bore 4 between the electric motor 8 and the screw transmission mechanism 9.

[0022] The screw drive mechanism 9 (depending on the construction, the spindle or the nut of the screw drive mechanism 9) is rigidly connected to the first non-human piston 6 so that, on the one hand, a pushing force directed towards the closed end of the non-human cylinder bore 4 or towards the closing cap 5 in order to generate hydraulic brake pressure, and, on the other hand, a pulling force directed in the opposite direction can be exerted on the first non-human piston 6 by the screw drive mechanism 9 in order to slide the first non-human piston 6 back towards the electric motor 8 to its home position, which the first non-human piston 6 occupies when the vehicle brake system is not operated and the non-human cylinder bore 4 is unpressurized. Since the first non-human piston 6 can be pulled back in the non-human cylinder bore 4 by the electric motor 8 via the screw drive mechanism 9 to its home position, a piston spring for sliding the first non-human piston 6 back is not necessary and is not present in this embodiment either. However, the present invention does not exclude a piston spring for the first non-human-powered piston 6, and a piston spring, for example in the form of a compression coil spring, may be located between the first non-human-powered piston 6 and the other, second non-human-powered piston 7 (not shown).

[0023] The second non-human-powered piston 7, as a so-called floating piston, is actuated by the hydraulic braking pressure that the first non-human-powered piston 6 generates in the first chamber 11 of the non-human-powered cylinder 3, in the non-human-powered cylinder bore 4, between the first non-human-powered piston 6 and the second non-human-powered piston 7. Due to this pressure actuation, the second non-human-powered piston 7 also generates hydraulic braking pressure in the second chamber 12 of the non-human-powered cylinder 3, in the non-human-powered cylinder bore 4, between the closed end or closing cap 5 of the non-human-powered cylinder bore 4 and the second non-human-powered piston 7.

[0024] Between the second non-human-powered piston 7 and the closed end or closing cap 5 of the non-human-powered cylinder bore 4, in this embodiment, a compression coil spring is arranged as a piston spring 13, which urges the second non-human-powered piston 7 towards the first non-human-powered piston 6 and towards the electric motor 8 and thus towards the basic position of the second non-human-powered piston 7, which the second non-human-powered piston 7 occupies when the vehicle brake system is not operated and the non-human-powered cylinder bore 4 is unpressurized.

[0025] In this embodiment, the second non-human piston 7 has a radially outwardly flanged retainer ring 14 in a surrounding groove, which cooperates with a radially lowered diameter step in the non-human cylinder bore 4. This diameter step in the non-human cylinder bore 4 forms a stroke stop 15 for the second non-human piston 7, which limits the sliding of the second non-human piston 7 towards the first non-human piston 6 and the electric motor 8, and which defines a basic position of the second non-human piston 7 by the abutment of the retainer ring 14 against the stroke stop 15.

[0026] The hydraulic block 2 or non-human cylinder 3 according to the invention has for each chamber 11, 12 a connection, not visible in the drawing, for a brake line which hydraulically connects a slip control unit, not shown, in the respective brake circuit to the non-human cylinder 3 or, if no slip control unit is present, to a hydraulic wheel brake, also not shown, of the vehicle braking system. In the basic position of the second non-human piston 7, the piston spring 13 has a preload and therefore cannot fall out of its predefined position and does not require a so-called "restraint", i.e. an additional attachment for holding the piston spring 13 in its position.

[0027] On the hydraulic block 2 according to the invention, which forms or has the non-human cylinder 3, a brake fluid container 16 with two chambers is arranged, as is known from conventional main brake cylinders operated by muscle force. Each of the two chambers of the brake fluid container 16 has its own connecting nipple 17 which protrudes outwards or downwards from the bottom of the brake fluid container 16, is sealed by a seal 18 and is arranged in a respective connection 19 for the brake fluid container 16 provided in the hydraulic block 2. The connection 19 for the brake fluid container 16 is a diametrically stepped bore in each section, which opens into the two chambers 11, 12 of the non-human cylinder 3 so that the two chambers of the brake fluid container 16 communicate with the two chambers 11, 12 in the non-human cylinder bore 4 through these bores. These holes are arranged and configured so that they always communicate with the chambers 11, 12 of the non-human cylinder 3, even when both non-human pistons 6, 7 are slid at their maximum towards the closed end or closing cap 5 of the non-human cylinder bore 4.

[0028] The stepped diameter of the bores forms a receiving space for one check valve 20 in each case, by means of which the non-manual cylinder bores 4 are connected to the brake fluid container 6. The check valves 20, shown as circuit symbols in FIG. 1, are capable of flowing through towards the non-manual cylinder bores 4 and ensure that when hydraulic brake pressure is generated, brake fluid cannot be displaced from the non-manual cylinder bores 4 into the brake fluid container 16, i.e. both check valves 20 make it possible for hydraulic brake pressure to be generated in the non-manual cylinder bores 4.

[0029] The receiving portion for the check valve 20 or the check valve 20 is arranged in the hydraulic block 2 coaxially to the connection portion 19 for the brake fluid container 16 and radially to the non-powered cylinder bore 4, although this is not essential to the invention.

[0030] According to the invention, the hydraulic block 2 is provided with a bypass line 21 which connects the two chambers of the brake fluid container 16 with the two chambers 11, 12 of the non-human cylinder bore 4, bypassing the check valve 20. The bypass line 21 has a bore 22 in the hydraulic block 4 which runs parallel to the bore in which the check valve 20 is arranged and which opens into the non-human cylinder bore 4 at the point where the bypass line 21 is open when the non-human pistons 6, 7 are in their basic positions. When the two non-powered pistons 6, 7 are slid in the non-powered cylinder bore 4 towards the closed end of the non-powered cylinder bore 4 or towards the closing cap 5 in order to generate hydraulic brake pressure, the non-powered pistons 6, 7 overcome the opening of the bore 22 in such a way that the non-powered pistons 6, 7 block the bypass line 21 in the form of a so-called piston or spool valve, and thus are able to generate brake pressure. In order to be able to generate brake pressure when the non-powered pistons 6, 7 slide out of their basic position, it is also possible for further valves to be provided in the two non-powered pistons 6, 7, for example so-called center valves, as are known from conventional main brake cylinders (not shown).

[0031] An inclined hole 23, which starts from the connection part 19 for the brake fluid container 16, is not closed by the connection nipple 17 of the brake fluid container 16 and leads to the hole 22, is a component part of the bypass line 21 and connects the hole 22 to the connection part 19 for the brake fluid container 16.

[0032] The bore 22 is closed on the side of the opening of the oblique bore 23 opposite the non-manual cylinder bore 4, for example by a pressed-in ball 24. The bypass line 21 may be constructed differently from that described here and shown in FIG. 1, while still being constructed in accordance with the invention.

[0033] The check valve 20 allows brake fluid to be sucked from the brake fluid container 16 into the non-human cylinder bore 4 and replenished when both non-human pistons 6, 7 are slid from their basic positions toward the closed end or closing cap 5 of the non-human cylinder bore 4 during operation of the non-human cylinder 3, thereby blocking the bypass line 21.

[0034] The hydraulic unit 1 comprises an electronic control device 25, shown as a circuit symbol in Fig. 1, housed in a housing 26 and arranged at the end of the electric motor 8 remote from the hydraulic block 2. The control device 25 controls or regulates the electric motor 8. The control device 25 may be arranged at another location on the electric motor 8 or on the hydraulic block 2 (not shown).

[0035] The hydraulic block 2 according to the invention, together with the two non-powered pistons 6, 7, the electric motor 8, the screw transmission 9 and the reduction transmission 10, forms a hydraulic unit 1. A brake fluid container 16 may also be considered as a component of the hydraulic unit 1.

[0036] The hydraulic unit 1 shown in Figures 3 and 4, like the hydraulic unit 1 shown in Figures 1 and 2, is provided for non-human generation of hydraulic brake pressure in an otherwise not shown slip-controlled electro-hydraulic two-path non-human brake system. This hydraulic unit 1 can be used for autonomous driving up to levels 4 and 5. Unlike the hydraulic unit 1 shown in Figures 1 and 2, the hydraulic unit 1 shown in Figures 3 and 4 has slip control such as an anti-lock braking system, anti-slip regulation and / or vehicle dynamics control.

[0037] The hydraulic block 2 of the hydraulic unit 1 shown in Figures 3 and 4, constructed according to the invention, corresponds to the hydraulic block 2 of the hydraulic unit 1 shown in Figures 1 and 2 and has a non-human cylinder bore 4 in which two non-human pistons 6, 7 are slidable, the first of which, the non-human piston 6, is slidable by an electric motor 8 via a screw transmission 9 and possibly via a reduction transmission 10, in order to non-humanly generate hydraulic brake pressure in the non-human cylinder bore 4. A brake fluid container 16 is arranged on the hydraulic block 2, the chambers of which are separated from each other in each brake circuit and communicate with the chambers 11, 12 in the non-human cylinder bore 4 by a check valve 20 and a bypass line 21. The structure and function of the hydraulic unit 1 and the hydraulic block 2 shown in Figures 1 and 2 and Figures 3 and 4 correspond in this respect, so that for the explanation of Figures 3 and 4, reference can be made to the previous explanation of Figures 1 and 2.

[0038] The hydraulic block 2 shown in Figures 3 and 4 is larger so that, in addition to the non-manual cylinder bores 4, a solenoid valve 27, one or more hydraulic pumps 28 and further components of the slip control, such as check valves and hydraulic accumulators, can be accommodated in the hydraulic block 2. In this embodiment, the hydraulic block 2 shown in Figures 3 and 4 is cuboid-shaped in the region of the non-manual cylinder bores 4, in which the hydraulic block 2 forms the non-manual cylinders 3, and is extended downwards, i.e. opposite to the brake fluid container 16. When viewed in the axial direction relative to the non-human powered cylinder bore 4, the hydraulic block 2 shown in Figures 3 and 4 is L-shaped, with the brake fluid container 16 located on the horizontal side of this "L", which forms the non-human powered cylinder 3 having the non-human powered cylinder bore 4, and the side of the "L" extending downward from the underside of the non-human powered cylinder 3 opposite the brake fluid container 16, in a direction away from the brake fluid container 16, is one piece with the non-human powered cylinder 3 and has the components of slip control.

[0039] The hydraulic block 2 shown in Figures 3 and 4 has a receiving area for the solenoid valve 27 of the slip control in a valve face 31 bordering on the upper face 30. The face of the hydraulic block 2 on which the brake fluid container 16 is arranged is called the upper face 30. The receiving area for the solenoid valve 27 is a blind hole in the valve face 31 of the hydraulic block 2, which may have a diameter step and / or a surrounding groove. The hydraulic part of the solenoid valve 27, which may also be considered as a valve in itself, is arranged in a pressure-tight manner in the receiving area. The armature 32 and the magnet coil of the solenoid valve 27 protrude perpendicularly outwards from the valve face 31 of the hydraulic block 2. The solenoid valve 27 or the valve as well as its armature 32 and magnet coil are shown in the figures in a simplified form as circuit symbols. The armature 32 and the magnet coil of the solenoid valves 27 of the slip control are individually covered by valve domes 33, which are themselves collectively covered by a cover 34. The cover 34 has the form of a rectangular box with an open side, with which the cover 34 is arranged on the valve face 31 of the hydraulic block 2.

[0040] For slip control, the hydraulic block 2 shown in Figures 3 and 4 is equipped with a piston pump with two pump pistons as hydraulic pump 28. Such hydraulic pumps 28 for slip control are also called return pumps. The pump pistons of the hydraulic pumps 28 are each assigned to one brake circuit. In the present example, the two pump pistons are arranged coaxially in a pump bore 35 which passes through the hydraulic block 2 below the non-powered cylinder 3 and in the present example below the receptacle for the solenoid valve 27, parallel to the non-powered cylinder bore 4.

[0041] For the stroke drive of the two pump pistons, the hydraulic pump 28 or piston pump has an eccentric, not visible in the drawing, which is arranged in the pump bore 35 between the two pump pistons. The axis of rotation of the eccentric crosses the axis of the pump bore 35 in the radial direction. A second electric motor 36 is arranged coaxially to the axis of rotation of the eccentric outside the hydraulic block 2 on a motor face 37 of the hydraulic block 2 that is located opposite the valve face 31. Via the eccentric, the second electric motor 36 drives the two pump pistons to stroke axially back and forth in the pump bore 35 and pump the brake fluid.

[0042] In the wall of the hydraulic block 2 remote from and parallel to the valve face 31, here called the bottom of the cover 34, the cover 34 has a second electronic control device 38, which is shown in simplified form as a circuit symbol in FIG. 3. The second electronic control device 38 controls the second electric motor 36 of the slip control hydraulic pump 28 and the slip control solenoid valve 27 and thus performs the slip control of the vehicle braking system. No distinction is made here between control and regulation, and "control" is also understood here as "regulation" and vice versa.

[0043] In the event of a fault or failure of the non-powered cylinder 3 or the electric motor 8, which slides the non-powered piston 6, 7 in the non-powered cylinder bore 4 to generate hydraulic brake pressure, the hydraulic brake pressure is generated by the slip-controlled hydraulic pump 28. This results in redundancy with respect to the non-powered generation of hydraulic brake pressure, so that the hydraulic brake pressure required for braking is generated selectively by the non-powered cylinder 3 or by the hydraulic pump 28, and in the event of a fault or failure in the area of slip control, slip control is no longer possible. By means of both electronic control devices 25, 38, redundancy also results with respect to the control or regulation of the hydraulic unit 1. For each electronic control device 25, 38 and for each electric motor 8, 36, a separate current supply is provided (not shown).

[0044] The hydraulic block 2 shown in Figures 3 and 4 has four brake line connections 39 for hydraulic wheel brakes (not shown) of the vehicle braking system. The brake line connections 39 are recesses which, in the illustrated embodiment of the invention, are arranged in the valve face 31 of the hydraulic block 2, above the cover 34. The brake line connections 39 are arranged in the valve face 31, between the upper face 30 and the cover 34, on an imaginary straight line parallel to the non-manual cylinder bore 4. This arrangement of the brake line connections 39 is certainly planned for the hydraulic unit 1 according to the invention or the hydraulic block 2 according to the invention shown in Figures 3 and 4, but is not essential to the invention in any case. Other arrangements of the brake line connections 39 in the valve face 31 and / or in other faces of the hydraulic block 2 are also possible. The hydraulic wheel brakes are connected to the hydraulic block 2 or hydraulic unit 1 through brake lines by means of screw-on or press-in nipples provided in the brake line connections 39 (not shown).

[0045] The hydraulic block 2, together with the non-powered pistons 6, 7, the two electric motors 8, 36, the screw transmission 9, the hydraulic pump 28, the two electronic control devices 25, 38, possibly a brake fluid container 16 and possibly further components, forms the hydraulic unit 1.
