[0001] The present specification relates to a heterocyclic compound, an organic light-emitting device containing the same, and a composition for forming an organic layer. This application claims the benefit of the filing date of Korean Patent Application No. 10-2022-0025928, filed with the Korean Intellectual Property Office on February 28, 2022, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. [Background technology]
[0002] An electroluminescent device is a type of self-luminous display device, and has the advantages of a wide viewing angle, excellent contrast, and fast response speed.
[0003] An organic light emitting device has a structure in which an organic thin film is disposed between two electrodes. When a voltage is applied to an organic light emitting device having such a structure, electrons and holes injected from the two electrodes combine in the organic thin film to form pairs, and then disappear, emitting light. The organic thin film may be configured as a single layer or multiple layers as necessary.
[0004] The material of the organic thin film may have a light-emitting function as necessary. For example, the material of the organic thin film may be a compound that can form a light-emitting layer by itself, or a compound that can play the role of a host or dopant in a host-dopant type light-emitting layer. In addition, the material of the organic thin film may be a compound that can play the role of hole injection, hole transport, electron blocking, hole blocking, electron transport, electron injection, etc.
[0005] There is a continuing need to develop materials for organic thin films to improve the performance, lifetime, or efficiency of organic light-emitting devices. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]
[0006] [Patent Document 1] U.S. Patent No. 4,356,429 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0007] An object of the present specification is to provide a heterocyclic compound, an organic light-emitting device containing the same, and a composition for forming an organic layer. [Means for solving the problem]
[0008] In one embodiment of the present specification, there is provided a heterocyclic compound represented by the following formula 1:
[0009] [ka]
[0010] In the above Chemical Formula 1, X is O or S; L1 is a direct bond; a substituted or unsubstituted C6 to C60 arylene group; or a substituted or unsubstituted C2 to C60 heteroarylene group; Y1 to Y3 each independently represent N or CR, and at least one is N; Het is a substituted or unsubstituted C2-C60 fused polycyclic heteroaryl group; R, R1, Ar1, and Ar2 are each independently hydrogen; deuterium; a halogen group; a cyano group; a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C60 alkyl group; a substituted or unsubstituted C3-C60 cycloalkyl group; a substituted or unsubstituted C2-C60 heterocycloalkyl group; a substituted or unsubstituted C6-C60 aryl group; or a substituted or unsubstituted C2-C60 heteroaryl group; R2 is hydrogen; or deuterium; l1 is an integer from 0 to 3; r1 is an integer from 0 to 6; r2 is an integer from 0 to 4; When l1, r1, and r2 are each 2 or greater, the substituents within the brackets are the same or different from each other.
[0011] In another embodiment of the present specification, there is provided an organic light-emitting device comprising: a first electrode; a second electrode; and one or more organic material layers provided between the first electrode and the second electrode, wherein at least one of the organic material layers contains one or more of the heterocyclic compounds.
[0012] In another embodiment of the present specification, there is provided a composition for forming an organic layer, comprising the heterocyclic compound. Effect of the Invention
[0013] When the heterocyclic compound described in this specification is used in an organic light-emitting device, it can reduce the driving voltage of the device, improve the light-emitting efficiency, and improve the life characteristics of the device. Specifically, the heterocyclic compound of the present invention is characterized in that an azine group is substituted at a specific position of a core structure of dibenzofuran or dibenzothiophene, a phenylene group is included as a linker between the core structure and the substituent Het, and the core structure and the substituent Het are bonded at the ortho position with respect to the phenylene group. In particular, the substituent Het is bonded to the core structure at the ortho position of the phenylene group, so that the dihedral angle is increased compared to the meta or para position. The increase in the dihedral angle suppresses the extension of conjugation with respect to the phenylene group, so that the ortho position has a higher T than the meta or para position. 1 (Triplet energy level). 1 (Triplet energy level) is suitable for maximizing the luminescence properties of phosphorescent dopants. 1When a phosphorescent host material having a triplet energy level is used, a back energy transfer occurs in which the triplet state electron of the dopant is transferred back to the host, degrading the light-emitting properties of the dopant and degrading device performance. In the present invention, the core structure and the substituent Het are bonded to the ortho position based on the phenylene group as in Chemical Formula 1, thereby achieving a high T 1 By using a compound having a triplet energy level, back energy transfer is prevented, luminescence characteristics of the dopant are maximized, and device performance is improved.
[0014] In addition, when the azine group present in the core structure is bonded to the 3-position of dibenzofuran or dibenzothiophene, it has a higher glass transition temperature than other positions. If the glass transition temperature is low, the material loses its original properties and has completely different properties, which reduces the lifespan. The present invention has the effect of improving the lifespan by substituting an azine group at the 3-position of dibenzofuran or dibenzothiophene, which has a high glass transition temperature. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0016] This specification will be explained in more detail below.
[0017] In this specification, when a part "comprises" a certain component, it does not mean excluding other components, and means that the part may further include other components, unless otherwise specified to the contrary.
[0018] In this specification, the chemical formula [ka] means the binding position.
[0019] The term "substituted" means that a hydrogen atom bonded to a carbon atom of a compound is replaced with another substituent, and the position of the substitution is not limited as long as it is a position at which a hydrogen atom is substituted, i.e., a position at which a substituent can be substituted, and when two or more substituents are substituted, the two or more substituents may be the same or different.
[0020] In this specification, "substituted or unsubstituted" means deuterium; a halogen group; -CN; an alkyl group of C1 to C60; an alkenyl group of C2 to C60; an alkynyl group of C2 to C60; a haloalkyl group of C1 to C60; an alkoxy group of C1 to C60; an aryloxy group of C6 to C60; an alkylthioxy group of C1 to C60; an arylthioxy group of C6 to C60; an alkylsulfoxy group of C1 to C60; an arylsulfoxy group of C6 to C60; a cycloalkyl group of C3 to C60; a heterocycloalkyl group of C2 to C60; an arylsulfoxy group of C6 to C60; and -NRR', or a substituent in which two or more substituents selected from the above-listed substituents are linked, and R, R', and R'' are each independently a substituent consisting of at least one of hydrogen; deuterium; a halogen group; an alkyl group; an alkenyl group; an alkoxy group; a cycloalkyl group; a heterocycloalkyl group; an aryl group; and a heteroaryl group.
[0021] In this specification, when "no substituent is shown in the chemical formula or compound structure," it means that a hydrogen atom is bonded to the carbon atom. However, deuterium ( 2 H, Deuterium) is an isotope of hydrogen, so some hydrogen atoms may be deuterium.
[0022] In one embodiment of the present application, "when no substituent is shown in the chemical formula or compound structure", it may mean that all positions where a substituent can be substituted are hydrogen or deuterium. That is, in the case of deuterium, which is an isotope of hydrogen, some of the hydrogen atoms may be deuterium, which is an isotope, and in this case, the content of deuterium may be 0% to 100%.
[0023] In one embodiment of the present application, in the case where "substituents are not shown in the chemical formula or compound structure", when deuterium is not explicitly excluded, such as when the deuterium content is 0%, the hydrogen content is 100%, or all substituents are hydrogen, hydrogen and deuterium may be used together in the compound.
[0024] In one embodiment of the present application, deuterium is one of the isotopes of hydrogen, and is an element having a deuteron consisting of one proton and one neutron as an atomic nucleus, and may be represented as hydrogen-2, and the atomic symbol is D or 2 It may also be written as H.
[0025] In one embodiment of the present application, isotopes, meaning atoms with the same atomic number (Z) but different mass numbers (A), can also be interpreted as elements with the same number of protons but different numbers of neutrons.
[0026] In one embodiment of the present application, the content T% of a specific substituent can be defined as T2 / T1×100=T%, where T1 is the total number of substituents that the base compound may have and T2 is the number of specific substituents among the total number of substituents.
[0027] That is, in one example, [ka] In a phenyl group represented by the formula, the deuterium content is 20% when the total number of substituents that the phenyl group may have is 5 (T1 in the formula), of which the number of deuterium is 1 (T2 in the formula). In other words, a phenyl group with a deuterium content of 20% may be represented by the following structural formula. [ka] In addition, in one embodiment of the present application, a "phenyl group having a deuterium content of 0%" may mean a phenyl group that does not contain a deuterium atom, that is, a phenyl group that has five hydrogen atoms.

[0258] <Experimental Example 1> 1) Preparation of organic light-emitting devices A glass substrate coated with a thin ITO film to a thickness of 1,500 Å was ultrasonically cleaned with distilled water. After the distilled water cleaning was completed, the substrate was ultrasonically cleaned with solvents such as acetone, methanol, and isopropyl alcohol, dried, and then UVO treatment was performed for 5 minutes using UV in a UV cleaner. The substrate was then transferred to a plasma cleaner (PT) and plasma treatment was performed in a vacuum state to determine the work function of the ITO and remove residual film, and then transferred to a thermal evaporation device for organic deposition.
[0259] On the ITO transparent electrode (anode), a hole injection layer 2-TNATA (4,4',4''-Tris[2-naphthyl(phenyl)amino]triphenylamine) and a hole transport layer NPB (N,N'-Di(1-naphthyl)-N,N'-diphenyl-(1,1'-biphenyl)-4,4'-diamine) were formed as a common layer.
[0260] An emitting layer was formed thereon by thermal vacuum deposition as follows: The emitting layer used the compound in Table 7 below as a host and Ir(ppy) as a green phosphorescent dopant. 3 (tris(2-phenylpyridine)iridium) was used as the host, and Ir(ppy) 3 Then, BCP was evaporated to a thickness of 60 Å as a hole blocking layer, and Alq was evaporated on top of it as an electron transport layer. 3 Finally, lithium fluoride (LiF) was deposited on the electron transport layer to a thickness of 10 Å to form an electron injection layer, and then an aluminum (Al) cathode was deposited on the electron injection layer to a thickness of 1,200 Å to form a cathode, thereby manufacturing an organic electroluminescent device.
[0261] The compounds of the Examples and Comparative Examples were used as green hosts, except for those separately indicated as red hosts in Table 7 below. In the Examples used as red hosts, Ir(piq) was used as a red phosphorescent dopant. 2 (acac) was used.
[0262] On the other hand, all the organic compounds required for the production of OLED elements are about 10 -8 ~10 -6 The resulting material was purified by vacuum sublimation under torr and used to fabricate OLEDs. [ka]
[0263] 2) Driving voltage and luminous efficiency of organic electroluminescent devices The electroluminescence (EL) characteristics of the organic electroluminescent device prepared as described above were measured using a Mac Science M7000. Using the measurement results, a reference luminance of 6,000 cd / m was measured using a Mac Science M6000 lifespan measurement device. 2 When T 90 was measured.
[0264] The driving voltage, luminous efficiency, color coordinate (CIE), and life span of the organic light emitting device manufactured according to the present invention were measured, and the results are shown in Table 7 below.
[0265] [Table 7-1]
[0266] [Table 7-2]
[0267] [Table 7-3]
[0268] From the results of Table 7, it can be seen that the organic light emitting device including the heterocyclic compound of Chemical Formula 1 of the present invention is superior in terms of driving voltage, luminous efficiency, and life span compared to the comparative examples. The compounds used in Example 1 and Comparative Examples 5 and 6, Example 6 and Comparative Example 1, and Example 16 and Comparative Example 3 are identical in structure except for the substitution position of the azine group, and it can be seen that the driving voltage of the examples is lower, the luminous efficiency is higher, and the life span is longer than that of the respective comparative examples. That is, it can be seen that the substitution of the azine group at a specific position of the core structure as in Chemical Formula 1 of the present invention provides better performance when used as a material for an organic light emitting device than compounds substituted at other positions.
[0269] In addition, the compounds used in Example 3 and Comparative Examples 7 and 8, and Example 19 and Comparative Example 4 have the same structure except for the bond structure of the core structure-phenylene-substituent Het. It can be confirmed that the examples in which the core structure-phenylene-substituent Het is bonded to the ortho position have superior results in terms of driving voltage, luminous efficiency, and lifetime compared to the comparative examples in which the core structure-phenylene-substituent Het is bonded to the meta or para position.
[0270] In the compound of the present invention represented by Chemical Formula 1, the substituent Het is bonded to the core structure at the ortho position of the phenylene group, which increases the dihedral angle compared to the meta or para positions. The increased dihedral angle suppresses the extension of the conjugation based on the phenylene group, so that the triplet energy level T is higher at the ortho position than at the meta or para position. 1 (Triplet energy level). 1 (Triplet energy level) is suitable for maximizing the luminescence properties of phosphorescent dopants. 1When a phosphorescent host material having a triplet energy level is used, a back energy transfer occurs in which the triplet state electron of the dopant is transferred back to the host, degrading the luminescence characteristics of the dopant and degrading device performance. The present invention relates to a phosphorescent compound having a high T 1 It is believed that by using a compound having a triplet energy level, back energy transfer is prevented, the luminescence characteristics of the dopant are maximized, and device performance is improved.
[0271] In other words, when the heterocyclic compound of the present invention represented by Chemical Formula 1 is used as a host in the light-emitting layer, it is confirmed that the driving voltage, light-emitting efficiency, and life span are remarkably excellent.
[0272] <Experimental Example 2> 1) Preparation of organic light-emitting devices A glass substrate coated with a thin ITO film to a thickness of 1,500 Å was ultrasonically cleaned with distilled water.
[0273] On the ITO transparent electrode (anode), a hole injection layer 2-TNATA (4,4',4''-Tris[2-naphthyl(phenyl)amino]triphenylamine) and a hole transport layer NPB (N,N'-Di(1-naphthyl)-N,N'-diphenyl-(1,1'-biphenyl)-4,4'-diamine) were formed as a common layer.
[0274] The light-emitting layer was then deposited thereon by thermal vacuum deposition as follows: The light-emitting layer was formed by premixing two compounds (N-host and P-host) shown in Table 8 below as hosts in the weight ratio shown in Table 8 below, and then depositing the compounds to a thickness of 360 Å from a single source. The green phosphorescent dopant was Ir(ppy). 3 Then, BCP was deposited at 60 Å as a hole blocking layer, and Alq was deposited on it as an electron transport layer.
[0275] The compounds of the Examples and Comparative Examples were used as green hosts, except for those separately indicated as red hosts in Table 8 below. In the Examples used as red hosts, Ir(piq) was used as a red phosphorescent dopant. 2 (acac) was used.
[0276] On the other hand, all the organic compounds required for the production of OLED elements are about 10 -8 ~10 -6 The resulting material was purified by vacuum sublimation under torr and used to fabricate OLEDs.
[0277] The electroluminescence (EL) characteristics of the organic electroluminescent device prepared as described above were measured using a Mac Science M7000. Using the measurement results, a reference luminance of 6,000 cd / m was measured using a Mac Science M6000 lifespan measurement device. 2 When T 90 was measured.
[0278] The driving voltage, luminous efficiency, color coordinate (CIE), and life span of the organic light emitting device manufactured according to the present invention were measured, and the results are shown in Table 8 below.
[0279] [Table 8-1]
[0280] [Table 8-2]
[0281] [Table 8-3]
[0282] Comparing the results of Table 7 with those of Table 8, it can be seen that when the heterocyclic compound of Chemical Formula 1 and the compound of Chemical Formula 2 are used simultaneously as hosts in the emission layer, more specifically, when the heterocyclic compound of Chemical Formula 1 is used as an N-type host and the compound of Chemical Formula 2 is used as a P-type host, all of the driving voltage, luminous efficiency, and lifetime are improved.
[0283] From these results, it can be predicted that an exciplex phenomenon will occur when the two compounds are contained simultaneously.
[0284] The exciplex phenomenon is a phenomenon in which energy of the magnitude of the HOMO level of the donor (p-host) and the LUMO level of the acceptor (n-host) is released by electron exchange between two molecules. When the exciplex phenomenon between two molecules occurs, reverse intersystem crossing (RISC) occurs, and the internal quantum efficiency of the fluorescence can be increased to 100%. When a donor (p-host) with good hole transporting ability and an acceptor (n-host) with good electron transporting ability are used as a host of the light-emitting layer, holes are injected into the p-host and electrons are injected into the n-host, so that the driving voltage can be reduced, which can help improve the lifespan. In the present invention, it was confirmed that the heterocyclic compound of Chemical Formula 1 plays the role of an acceptor and the compound of Chemical Formula 2 plays the role of a donor, and thus excellent device characteristics can be obtained when used together as a host of the light-emitting layer.
[0285] In particular, it can be confirmed that the compound of Chemical Formula 2 has excellent life characteristics when it contains deuterium. In Examples 59 to 142 in Table 8, 14 compounds of Chemical Formula 1 were used in combination with two compounds that have the same structure but differ only in whether they contain deuterium as a P-type host. From the results in Table 8, it can be seen that the life is significantly improved when the heterocyclic compound of Chemical Formula 1 is used in combination with the compound of Chemical Formula 2 containing deuterium. This is because the compound containing deuterium in the same structure shows much more balanced charge transport characteristics than the compound not containing deuterium, and the stability of the entire molecule is increased due to the high single bond dissociation energy between carbon and deuterium, leading to an increased life.
[0286] In contrast, when a compound not included in the scope of the present invention is used in combination with the compound of Chemical Formula 2 (Comparative Examples 13 to 24), the driving voltage, luminous efficiency, and lifespan are lower than those of the present invention.
[0287] That is, when the heterocyclic compound of Chemical Formula 1 and the compound of Chemical Formula 2 are used simultaneously as hosts in the light-emitting layer, it is confirmed that the driving voltage, light-emitting efficiency, and life span are remarkably excellent.
