[0008] According to the present invention, an oral composition can be obtained that has an excellent balance between adhesion to a toothbrush and ease of squeezing out of a tube container. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0009] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described. In this embodiment, the composition may contain each component either alone or in combination of two or more. In this specification, the symbol "to" indicating a numerical range means "greater than or equal to" or "less than or equal to," and both of the numerical values at both ends are included.
[0010] (Oral composition) In this embodiment, the oral composition contains an abrasive and a binder, and has a ratio of TF5 to TF10 (TF5 / TF10) of 1.1 to 10, where TF5 and TF10 are the tensile return forces in a 5 mm tensile test and a 10 mm tensile test, respectively, as measured by Method 1 below, and a stringiness of 2 mm to less than 24 mm as measured by Method 2 below. (Method 1) Device name: Rheometer (e.g., CR-3000EX-S, manufactured by Sun Scientific Co., Ltd.) Jig used: Pressure / elasticity measurement pressure-sensitive shaft (Φ20mm) Measurement speed: 60mm / min Pull-up distance: 5mm or 10mm Filling container: 30mL plastic jar (diameter 43mm) Procedure: Fill the container with oral composition until it is full, set it in the device, and then lift it up at the measurement speed. Measure the absolute value of the stress at each lifting distance. Measure three times at each lifting distance and the average value is TF5 or TF10. In the procedure of Method 1, the numerical value of the stress during pulling is a negative value, so the recorded value is a negative value and the absolute value is a positive value.
[0011] (Method 2) Device name: Rheometer (e.g., CR-3000EX-S, manufactured by Sun Scientific Co., Ltd.) Jig used: Pressure-sensitive shaft for measuring penetration (Φ15mm) Measurement speed: 1000mm / min Pulling distance: 50mm Filling container: 30mL plastic jar (diameter 43mm) Procedure: Fill the container to the brim with the oral composition, set it in the device, and then pull it up at the measurement speed. Measure the distance the oral composition separates from the jig while being pulled up. Measure the pulling distance three times, and the average value is taken as the stringiness.
[0012] Here, the measurement temperature in Measurement 1 and Measurement 2 is specifically room temperature (25° C.).
[0013] The present inventors have investigated the ingredients and physical properties of an oral composition as design guidelines for improving the balance between the adhesion of the oral composition to a toothbrush and the sharpness with which the oral composition, when filled in a tube, can be squeezed out of the tube. As a result, they have newly discovered that by controlling the ingredients of the oral composition and using the tensile return force ratio (TF5 / TF10) and spinnability as indicators, it is possible to achieve a favorable balance between the sharpness with which the oral composition filled in the tube can be squeezed out of the tube and excellent adhesion to the toothbrush. That is, in this embodiment, the oral composition contains a combination of an abrasive and a binder, and the (TF5 / TF10) and stringiness are each within a specific range. This provides an excellent balance between adhesion to a toothbrush and the ability to easily squeeze the oral composition from a tube. This also makes it possible to provide an oral composition that is easy to handle. For example, it is possible to reduce the likelihood of the oral composition being dropped from the toothbrush or adhered to areas other than the desired area when the oral composition is placed on the toothbrush. It is also possible to suitably reduce dripping from the nozzle when the oral composition is squeezed from the tube. It is also possible to improve the ease of handling of the oral composition, for example, during the process of squeezing a dentifrice from a tube onto a toothbrush and applying it to the oral cavity.
[0014] The ratio of the tensile return force TF5 in a 5 mm tensile test to the tensile return force TF10 in a 10 mm tensile test (TF5 / TF10) is 1.1 or more, preferably 1.15 or more, more preferably 1.2 or more, and even more preferably 1.25 or more, thereby improving the adhesion of the oral composition to the toothbrush. Furthermore, (TF5 / TF10) is 10 or less, preferably 9 or less, more preferably 8 or less, even more preferably 7 or less, and may be 4 or less. This makes it possible to obtain an oral composition whose discharge amount from a tube container can be easily controlled.
[0015] TF5 is preferably 1 gf or more, more preferably 5 gf or more, and even more preferably 10 gf or more, thereby making it possible to obtain an oral composition that is less likely to spill from a tube or toothbrush. Furthermore, TF5 is preferably 100 gf or less, more preferably 75 gf or less, and even more preferably 50 gf or less, thereby making it possible to obtain an oral composition that easily separates from a tube container when squeezed.
[0016] TF10 can be set to a value such that (TF5 / TF10) is in the above-mentioned range. TF10 may be, for example, 0.5 gf or more, and may be, for example, 50 gf or less.
[0017] The stringiness of the oral composition is 2 mm or more, more preferably 3 mm or more, and even more preferably 5 mm or more, which allows for more stable and improved adhesion of the oral composition to a toothbrush. The spinnability of the oral composition is less than 24 mm, preferably 23 mm or less, more preferably 22 mm or less, and even more preferably 20 mm or less, thereby improving the sharpness of the oral composition.
[0018] Next, the components of the oral composition will be described. The oral composition includes an abrasive and a binder as described above.
[0019] (abrasive) Examples of abrasives include one or more selected from the group consisting of abrasive silica such as hydrous silicic acid (e.g., gel-process silica, precipitated silica), anhydrous silicic acid, silica gel, and aluminosilicate; zeolite; calcium phosphate-based abrasives such as calcium hydrogen phosphate anhydrate, calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, and calcium pyrophosphate; calcium carbonate-based abrasives such as calcium carbonate; and other inorganic abrasives such as aluminum hydroxide, alumina, magnesium carbonate, tribasic magnesium phosphate, zirconium silicate, tribasic calcium phosphate, hydroxyapatite, and quaternary calcium phosphate; and organic abrasives such as synthetic resin-based abrasives.
[0020] The abrasive preferably contains abrasive silica, more preferably hydrated silicic acid, or preferably anhydrous silicic acid, which can more stably improve the balance between adhesion to the toothbrush and ease of squeezing from the tube. The abrasive silica may be either crystalline silica or amorphous silica, or may be wet silica.
[0021] The average particle size of the abrasive silica is preferably 1 μm or more, more preferably 2 μm or more, even more preferably 3 μm or more, and even more preferably 5 μm or more, which allows for efficient removal of stains from the tooth surface. The average particle size of the abrasive silica is preferably 50 μm or less, more preferably 30 μm or less, and even more preferably 20 μm or less, thereby making it possible to obtain an oral composition that is smooth to the touch.
[0022] Here, the average particle size of the abrasive silica and the thickening silica described below is determined by measuring the particle size distribution of the particles on a volume basis using a commercially available laser diffraction / scattering particle size distribution analyzer. 50 It can be said that:
[0023] It is also preferable that the abrasive is substantially free of calcium carbonate, which allows for a more stable and improved balance between adhesion to the toothbrush and ease of squeezing out of the tube. Here, the oral composition not containing calcium carbonate specifically means that calcium carbonate is not intentionally blended into the oral composition, and more specifically means that the calcium carbonate content is 0.001% by mass or less of the entire oral composition.
[0024] The content of the abrasive in the oral composition is preferably 5% by mass or more, more preferably more than 5% by mass, even more preferably more than 10% by mass, still more preferably more than 10% by mass, even more preferably more than 11% by mass, and still more preferably more than 13% by mass, based on the total mass of the oral composition. This allows for efficient removal of stains from tooth surfaces. The content of the abrasive in the oral composition is preferably 30% by mass or less, more preferably less than 30% by mass, even more preferably 25% by mass or less, and even more preferably 20% by mass or less, based on the total mass of the oral composition, thereby providing an oral composition with excellent smoothness in use.
[0025] (binder) Examples of the binder include at least one selected from the group consisting of thickening silica such as hydrous silicic acid (e.g., gel-process silica and precipitated silica) and anhydrous silicic acid (e.g., gel-process silica, precipitated silica, and dry silica); other inorganic binders such as bentonite; and organic binders such as pullulan, gelatin, methylcellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, carboxymethyl cellulose and salts thereof, carrageenan, alginic acid and salts thereof, xanthan gum, polyacrylic acid and salts thereof, gum arabic, guar gum, locust bean gum, polyvinyl alcohol, and carboxyvinyl polymers. Specific examples of the salts include alkali metal salts such as sodium salts and potassium salts.
[0026] The binder preferably contains an inorganic binder, more preferably contains thickening silica, which can more stably improve the balance between adhesion to the toothbrush and smoothness when squeezed out of the tube container.
[0027] The thickening silica may be either crystalline silica or amorphous silica, and may be either dry silica or wet silica. The average particle size of the thickening silica is preferably 1 μm or more, more preferably 2 μm or more, even more preferably 5 μm or more, and even more preferably 10 μm or more, which allows the viscosity of the oral composition to be maintained more efficiently. The average particle size of the thickening silica is preferably 60 μm or less, more preferably 50 μm or less, and even more preferably 40 μm or less, thereby making it possible to obtain an oral composition that is smooth to the touch.
[0028] The oil absorption of the thickening silica, determined by the amount of boiled linseed oil absorbed according to the method described in JIS K 5101-13-2 (2004), is, for example, 0.1 mL / g or more, preferably 0.2 mL / g or more, and, for example, 5 mL / g or less, preferably 4 mL / g or less.
[0029] The content of the inorganic binder in the oral composition is preferably 2% by mass or more, more preferably 2.5% by mass or more, even more preferably 3% by mass or more, and even more preferably 4% by mass or more, based on the total oral composition. This allows for an oral composition with excellent cushioning properties during tooth brushing. This also reduces irritation caused by contact of the toothbrush with the teeth, gums, etc. The content of the inorganic binder in the oral composition is preferably 30% by mass or less, more preferably 25% by mass or less, even more preferably 20% by mass or less, and even more preferably 15% by mass or less, based on the total mass of the oral composition, thereby enabling the production of an oral composition with excellent surface smoothness.
[0030] The binder preferably contains an organic binder. When the binder contains thickening silica, it is preferable that the binder further contains an organic binder. This makes it possible to more stably improve the balance between adhesion to the toothbrush and smoothness when squeezed out of the tube container.
[0031] In view of the above, the organic binder preferably comprises one or more selected from the group consisting of carboxymethylcellulose and its salts (e.g., sodium carboxymethylcellulose), xanthan gum, alginic acid and its salts (e.g., sodium alginate), polyacrylic acid and its salts, carboxyvinyl polymers, hydroxyethylcellulose, hydroxypropylcellulose, pectin, tragacanth gum, gum arabic, guar gum, karaya gum, locust bean gum, gellan gum, tamarind gum, psyllium seed gum, polyvinyl alcohol, and carrageenan (preferably excluding κ-carrageenan, e.g., ι-carrageenan); More preferably, it contains one or more selected from the group consisting of carrageenan, sodium alginate, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, and xanthan gum; More preferably, the compound contains two or more selected from the group consisting of carrageenan, sodium alginate, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, and xanthan gum; Even more preferably, it comprises sodium alginate or sodium carboxymethylcellulose and xanthan gum; Even more preferably, it contains sodium alginate and xanthan gum. Specific examples of the salts include alkali metal salts such as sodium salts and potassium salts.
[0032] On the other hand, in terms of facilitating rinsing the oral cavity, it is also preferable that the oral composition does not contain xanthan gum. Specifically, the oral composition does not contain xanthan gum means that xanthan gum is not intentionally blended into the oral composition, and more specifically, the content of xanthan gum is 0.001% by mass or less of the entire oral composition.
[0033] The content of the organic binder in the oral composition is preferably 0.2% by mass or more, more preferably 0.3% by mass or more, and even more preferably 1% by mass or more, based on the total mass of the oral composition, which allows the oral composition to have an appropriate viscosity. The content of the organic binder in the oral composition is preferably 15% by mass or less, more preferably 12% by mass or less, even more preferably 11% by mass or less, and even more preferably 10% by mass or less, based on the total mass of the oral composition, which allows for an oral composition that is easier to squeeze out of a tube container.
[0034] The mass ratio of the organic binder content to the inorganic binder content in the oral composition (organic binder / inorganic binder) is preferably 0.05 or more, more preferably 0.1 or more, and even more preferably 0.2 or more, thereby making it possible to obtain an oral composition that is smooth to the touch and has an excellent feel when used. The mass ratio (organic binder / inorganic binder) is preferably 2.0 or less, more preferably 1.75 or less, even more preferably 1.5 or less, even more preferably 1.25 or less, and even more preferably 0.9 or less, thereby enabling the production of an oral composition that is excellent in cleanliness when dispensed from a tube container onto a toothbrush or the like.
[0035] The total content of the binder in the oral composition is preferably 2% by mass or more, more preferably 3% by mass or more, and even more preferably 5% by mass or more, based on the total oral composition, which allows the oral composition to have an appropriate viscosity. The total content of the binder in the oral composition is, for example, 45% by mass or less, preferably 15% by mass or less, more preferably 12% by mass or less, even more preferably 11% by mass or less, and even more preferably 10% by mass or less, based on the total oral composition. This allows for an oral composition that is more easily absorbed by saliva during tooth brushing. Furthermore, excessive thickening of the oral composition can be suppressed.
[0036] The total content of silica in the oral composition is preferably 10% by mass or more, more preferably 15% by mass or more, and even more preferably 20% by mass or more, based on the total mass of the oral composition, thereby making it possible to appropriately suppress the fluidity of the oral composition. The total content of silica in the oral composition is, for example, 60% by mass or less, preferably 30% by mass or less, more preferably 27.5% by mass or less, and even more preferably 25% by mass or less, based on the total oral composition, which allows for an oral composition that is more easily mixed with saliva in the oral cavity, for example, during tooth brushing.

From the same viewpoint, the oral composition is preferably in the form of a paste or gel.
[0067] The oral composition is preferably applied to the oral cavity by being placed on a toothbrush. Examples of toothbrushes that can be used with the oral composition include known toothbrushes. The material of the bristle bundles of the toothbrush can be, for example, a resin, and more specifically, can be one or more selected from the group consisting of saturated polyesters such as polyethylene terephthalate, polybutylene terephthalate, and polytrimethylene terephthalate; polyolefins such as polypropylene; polyamides such as nylon; and elastomer resins such as olefin elastomers and styrene elastomers. The toothbrush used in conjunction with the oral composition may be a conventional commercially available toothbrush.
[0068] (Manufacturing method) In this embodiment, the oral composition includes a step of blending, for example, an abrasive, a binder, and other ingredients as appropriate. Here, in order to obtain an oral composition having (TF5 / TF10) and spinnability each within a specific range, it is important to appropriately select, for example, the components contained in the oral composition and their blending ratios, as well as to appropriately select the manufacturing process for the oral composition. For example, it is important to appropriately select and combine the types and amounts of abrasives and binders contained in the oral composition to design the formulation. Abrasive silica and inorganic binders are preferably used in combination, and abrasive silica and thickening silica are more preferably used in combination. It is also preferable to further incorporate an organic binder into the oral composition. It is also preferable to further incorporate a humectant into the oral composition. It is also preferable to carry out the manufacturing process of the oral composition under vacuum. For example, when the oral composition contains thickening silica, an organic binder, a humectant, and water, it is preferable to add the thickening silica, abrasive, and other components as appropriate during or after mixing the humectant, organic binder, and water, and then stir and mix until uniform. It is also preferable to premix a portion of the humectant and the organic binder, add the mixture when the mixture is uniform, and stir until uniform. It is even more preferable to carry out these steps under vacuum.
[0069] (Toothpaste) In this embodiment, the dentifrice is the oral composition filled in a tube container, and preferably a toothpaste composition filled in a tube container. In this embodiment, the oral composition has an excellent balance between adhesion to the toothbrush and ease of squeezing it out of the tube container, so by filling it into a tube container to make a dentifrice, the dentifrice can be squeezed out of the tube container onto a toothbrush and applied to the oral cavity with excellent ease of handling.
[0070] Oral compositions such as toothpaste compositions are preferably used by squeezing them out of a tube container, and known tube containers can be used, for example. The material of the tube container can be one or more selected from the group consisting of resin materials such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polyethylene terephthalate, nylon, etc., and metal materials such as aluminum, etc. For example, the tube container may be a single-layer or multi-layer container made of these materials. The material of the innermost layer of the container is preferably one or more selected from the group consisting of polyethylene, polypropylene, and polyethylene terephthalate. For example, an aluminum-laminated tube container may be used in which the innermost layer of the container is made of polyethylene and further includes an aluminum layer.
[0071] The inner diameter of the discharge port of the tube container is preferably 1 mm or more, more preferably 2 mm or more, and even more preferably 3 mm or more, which can more stably reduce the excessive force required to discharge the oral composition. The inner diameter of the discharge port of the tube container is preferably 11 mm or less, more preferably 10 mm or less, and even more preferably 9 mm or less, which can efficiently prevent dripping. The length of the tube container excluding the discharge port may be about 50 to 160 mm, and the outer circumferential length in the width direction of the tube container may be about 20 to 120 mm.
[0072] Although the embodiments of the present invention have been described above, these are merely examples of the present invention, and various other configurations can also be adopted. [Example]
[0073] The present embodiment will be specifically described below with reference to examples and comparative examples, but the present embodiment is not limited to these examples.
[0074] (Examples 1 to 6, Comparative Examples 1 to 3) In this example, oral compositions, which are toothpaste compositions, were prepared and evaluated. The formulations, measurements, and evaluation results for each example are shown in Tables 1 and 2. The unit of component amounts in Tables 1 and 2 is mass %, and the particle size of silica is the average particle size. Details of the components listed in Tables 1 and 2 are shown below. Sorbitol Kao: 70% sorbitol liquid, manufactured by Kao Corporation Concentrated glycerin for cosmetics: Concentrated glycerin, manufactured by Sakamoto Pharmaceutical Industry Co., Ltd. Sodium alginate SHG: Sodium alginate, manufactured by Kohara Co., Ltd. NIKKOL SLS: Sodium lauryl sulfate, manufactured by Nikko Chemicals Caustic soda (48%): sodium hydroxide solution, manufactured by Tatsumi Synthetic Chemical Co., Ltd.
[0075] (Preparation of oral composition) Sorbitol or glycerin and purified water were weighed into a beaker, and the organic binder was gradually added while stirring at 2500 rpm at 80°C using an emulsifying and dispersing device (Labo-Lution, Primix) and a stirring unit (Homodisper 2.5, Primix). After stirring and mixing for 3 minutes, abrasive silica, thickening silica (oil absorption 2.5 mL / g), sodium lauryl sulfate, and caustic soda were added in that order, stirring with a rubber spatula each time until the mixture was uniform.
[0076] (Tensile return force) Measurements of TF5 and TF10 were carried out at 25°C using Method 1 described above. Instrument name: Rheometer (CR-3000EX-S, manufactured by Sun Scientific Co., Ltd., detection limit: 0.1 gf) Jig used: Pressure / elasticity measurement pressure-sensitive shaft (Φ20mm) Measurement speed: 60mm / min Pull-up distance: 5mm or 10mm Filling container: 30mL plastic jar (diameter 43mm) The absolute stress value at each pulling distance was measured three times, and the average value was calculated and designated as TF5 and TF10. Although the measured values were negative, the absolute value (positive value) was used to compare the magnitude of the force. The ratio (TF5 / TF10) was calculated from TF5 and TF10.
[0077] (Threadability) This was carried out at 25°C according to Method 2 above. Device name: Rheometer (CR-3000EX-S, manufactured by Sun Scientific Co., Ltd.) Jig used: Pressure-sensitive shaft for measuring penetration (Φ15mm) Measurement speed: 1000mm / min Pulling distance: 50mm Filling container: 30mL plastic jar (diameter 43mm) The distance the toothpaste composition separated from the jig during the lifting process was measured three times, and the average value was calculated.
[0078] (Evaluation method) (Adhesion to toothbrush) Each composition was filled into a 30 mL plastic jar (43 mm diameter). A toothbrush (Lion Corporation) with an 18 mm head and bristles made of saturated polyester resin was impregnated with the composition until the head was flush with the surface of the toothbrush. The toothbrush was then lifted vertically at a speed of approximately 3 cm per second, and the mass (g) of the composition adhering to the toothbrush was measured and evaluated according to the following criteria. A: Adhesion amount 1.2g or more B: Adhesion amount 1.0g or more but less than 1.2g C: Adhesion amount less than 1.0g
[0079] (Sharpness) Each toothpaste composition was filled into a laminated tube made of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) with a diameter of 19 mm and a size of 40Φ×130H (manufactured by Takemoto Container Co., Ltd.). A one-touch cap made of polypropylene with a diameter of 6 mm and a size of 39Φ×24H (T-40Φ One-Touch CAP II, manufactured by Takemoto Container Co., Ltd.) was attached as a cap, and the toothpaste composition was extruded from the tube for about 2.5 cm onto a paper towel. The tube was then pulled sideways at a speed of about 5 cm per second, and the length of the string of composition pulled out was measured and evaluated according to the following criteria. A: The length of the stringy composition is less than 20 mm B: The length of the stringy composition is 20 mm or more and less than 28 mm C: The length of the stringed composition is 28 mm or more
