AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Screw joint arrangements face issues with screws falling out during handling and adjustment, especially in difficult-to-access locations, and there is a need for a retainer function that allows for adjustable positioning between members.

Method used

A screw joint arrangement with a first member having a screw receiving portion and a second member with a bore comprising threaded and unthreaded portions, allowing the screw to be set in a state that fixes or allows relative movement between members, with the unthreaded portion capturing the screw to prevent falling.

Benefits of technology

The arrangement securely fixes members together while enabling adjustable positioning without the risk of the screw falling out, facilitating easy adjustment and secure attachment.

Abstract

This provides a screw joint configuration that includes a retainer function for screws and also allows for positional adjustment of the two components. [Solution] A screw joint arrangement comprising a first member having one screw receiver, first and second threaded bore portions, a second member having a bore with an unthreaded bore portion separating the threaded bore portions, and a screw shaft having a screw head and a threaded portion. The first member is positioned next to the second member with the first threaded bore portion in close proximity to the first member. The screw joint arrangement can be set between a first state in which the second member is fixed to the first member and a second state in which it is movable by rotation of a screw. In the first state, one of the screw receivers and the bore are aligned and the screw shaft passes through at least one of the screw receivers and extends into the bore with the threaded portion screwed into the second threaded bore portion so that the first member is clamped between the screw head and the second member.
