Abstract

This method provides a new method and system for producing chicks, which differs from the conventional method of placing all surviving eggs together in a hatchery tray to allow the chicks to develop. [Solution] The chick production method of the present invention divides the partially hatched eggs (E) into multiple groups based on physical information measured with respect to the partially hatched eggs (E) from the time they are placed in the setter tray (7) until they are transferred to the hatcher tray (8), and places them in the hatcher tray (8) to produce chicks. The chick production system (1) of the present invention comprises a measuring unit (2), a sorting unit (3), and a storage unit (4), and produces chicks in multiple hatcher trays (8).
