Abstract

The systems and methods of this disclosure are provided for detecting the presence of pathogens or living organisms in a sample. FT-IR is used to determine the absorption profile of the sample, which is used to determine the presence of pathogens in the sample and to determine the concentration of pathogens in the sample. The systems and methods are further configured to use the absorption profiles of the sample and the pathogens to detect and treat antibiotic resistance genes in the detected pathogens.
