Cristesalazine-containing pharmaceutical composition with improved stability and dissolution rate

Abstract

The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition of crisdesalazine or a salt thereof, and more particularly to a pharmaceutical composition in which stability is improved by reducing the content of crisdesalazine analogs and the intrinsic solubility is improved to increase the dissolution rate. Because the composition of the present invention ensures stability and bioavailability, it is even more useful in treating neurodegenerative diseases (such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Huntington's disease, epilepsy with free radical neurotoxicity, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury), inflammatory diseases (such as gastritis, colitis, pancreatitis, arthritis, diabetic inflammation, inflammatory bowel disease, nephritis, hepatitis, and arteriosclerotic inflammation), and stress disorders (such as anxiety disorders and depression).
