Abstract

The present invention relates to a novel alkylhydroperoxidase AhpD family core domain variant and a method for producing L-glutamic acid using the same. The alkylhydroperoxidase AhpD family core domain variant is formed by the substitution of one or more amino acids in the amino acid sequence constituting the alkylhydroperoxidase AhpD family core domain, thereby altering the protein's activity and enabling efficient production of L-glutamic acid from recombinant microorganisms expressing the variant.

Claims

1. An alkylhydroperoxidase AhpD family core domain variant consisting of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 4, in which the 231st tryptophan (W) in the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2 is replaced with arginine (R).

2. A polynucleotide encoding the variant described in claim 1.

3. A transformant comprising the mutant described in claim 1 or the polynucleotide described in claim 2.

4. The transformant according to claim 3, wherein the transformant is a strain of the genus Escherichia or Corynebacterium.

5. The transformant according to claim 3, wherein the transformant has the ability to produce L-glutamic acid.

6. The step of culturing the transformant according to claim 3 in a culture medium, A method for producing L-glutamic acid, comprising the step of recovering L-glutamic acid from the transformant or the culture medium in which the transformant was cultured.
