Abstract

A system is described that enables searching for properties for hotel reservations on a map. The system receives input, including search criteria associated with a geographical area, from a network site of a property network platform, and identifies multiple properties that match the search criteria. The system identifies a first subset of properties, each associated with multiple properties within the boundaries of the geographical area, and a second subset of properties, each associated with multiple properties outside the boundaries of the geographical area. The system ensures that the first subset of properties is visually distinguishable from the second subset of properties on a map-based graphical user interface (GUI) representing the multiple properties that match the search criteria.
