AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing pedicle screw assemblies require invasive procedures for attachment and adjustment, leading to increased surgical difficulty, patient discomfort, and risk of infection, while lacking means for easy angle adjustment without separating the screw from the spine.

Method used

A pedicle screw assembly with a detachable prevention member that allows for rotational adjustment of the screw head and projection relative to the spine, enabling angle adjustment without separating the screw, and a rod support mechanism that stabilizes the connection.

Benefits of technology

Minimizes invasive site, facilitates easy angle adjustment while attached to the spine, and maintains stable connections between the screw and other components without requiring separation.

Abstract

A pedicle screw assembly according to one aspect of the present invention includes a screw member extending in one direction and coupled to a pedicle; and a detachment prevention member that rotatably supports the screw member, wherein the screw member includes a screw body extending in one direction and at least partially inserted into the pedicle; a screw head located at one end of the screw body in the direction of extension and rotatably coupled to the detachment prevention member about the axis in that direction; and a screw projection coupled to the screw head so as to face the screw body with the screw head in between, and rotatably coupled to the detachment prevention member about the axis in that direction, wherein the detachment prevention member may include a detachment prevention body including a portion that rotatably houses the screw head and other portions that communicate with the portion, rotatably house the screw projection, and are formed to have a cross-sectional area less than or equal to that of the portion.
