Description

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

[0001] This application is based on Japanese Application No. 2021-162064, filed on September 30, 2021, the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. [Technical field]

[0002] The present disclosure relates to an apparatus and method. [Background technology]

[0003] In Release 15 of 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) (registered trademark), several functions for UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) as user equipment (UE) are being discussed and specified as work items for LTE (Long Term Evolution) (Non-Patent Document 1).

[0004] One of the specified functions is the Flight Path function. In the Flight Path function, the flight path of the UAV is reported from the UAV to the network in response to a request from the network. This is expected to be useful for controlling handover or beamforming based on the UAV's movement plan on the network side (Non-Patent Document 2).

[0005] Although the Flight Path function has not yet been specified in NR (New Radio), the use of the Flight Path function is mentioned in the proposal of the work item of Release 18 (Non-Patent Documents 3 to 5).

[0006] Also, a TA (Tracking Area) that is managed as information indicating the location of a UE is defined in the TS. A TA is composed of one or more cells. The UE receives a TA list indicating one or more TAs set for the UE from the network. Specifically, the UE receives a Registration Accept message including the TA list from the network by transmitting a Registration Request message to the network. When the UE is located in a cell corresponding to a TA indicated by the received TA list, the UE does not execute a Tracking Area Update (TAU) procedure, which is a procedure for updating location information. However, when the UE is located in a cell corresponding to a TA other than the TA indicated by the received TA list, the UE executes a TAU procedure for the network. [Prior art documents] [Non-patent literature]

[0007] [Non-Patent Document 1] 3GPP TS 36.331 V15.14.0 (2021-06), “3rd Generation Partnership Project; Technical Specification Group Radio Access Network; Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (E-UTRA); Radio Resource Control (RRC); protocol specification (Release 15)” [Non-Patent Document 2] 3GPP TSG-RAN WG2 Meeting #101bis Sanya, China, 16 - 20 Apr 2018, R2-1805125, Huawei, HiSilicon, CMCC, Fraunhofer, Nokia, Nokia Shanghai Bell, Lenovo, Motorola Mobility, InterDigital, KDDI, "Discussion on flight path information" [Non-Patent Document 3] 3GPP TSG RAN - RAN-Rel-18 workshop, Online, 2021-06-28 - 2021-07-02, RWS-210190, Ericsson, "Motivation for Rel-18 UAV" [Non-Patent Document 4] 3GPP TSG RAN Rel-18 workshop, Electronic Meeting, June 28 - July 2, 2021, RWS-210254, Lenovo, Motorola Mobility, "Discussion on UAV Swarm Support in NR RAN for Rel-18" [Non-Patent Document 5] 3GPP TSG RAN Rel-18 workshop, Electronic Meeting, June 28- July 2, 2021, RWS-210474, ZTE, Sanechips, "Support of UAV for 5G Advanced" Summary of the Invention

[0008] As a result of detailed study by the inventors, the following problem was found. That is, in the above-mentioned conventional technology, there is a risk that signaling related to updating or setting the TA list will increase. For example, if the TA list set for a UE is not suitable for the movement route of the UE, the UE may easily move to a location other than the TA indicated by the TA list. In this case, the above-mentioned TAU occurs frequently, which may increase signaling.

[0009] An object of the present disclosure is to provide an apparatus and method that make it possible to suppress an increase in signaling related to updating or setting a TA list.

[0010] An apparatus (100) according to one embodiment of the present disclosure includes a communication processing unit (135) that receives a message from a network (200, 300) including time information regarding permission to transmit provision information used to set a TA (Tracking Area) list for the apparatus, and an information acquisition unit (131) that acquires the time information included in the message, the provision information being related to a movement route of the apparatus.

[0011] An apparatus (300) according to one embodiment of the present disclosure includes an information acquisition unit (331) that acquires time information regarding permission to transmit provision information used to set a TA (Tracking Area) list for a communication device (100), and a communication processing unit (335) that transmits a message including the time information to the communication device, the provision information being related to a movement route of the communication device.

[0012] A method performed by a device (100) according to one embodiment of the present disclosure includes receiving a message from a network (200, 300) including time information regarding permission to transmit provision information used to set a TA (Tracking Area) list for the device, and obtaining the time information included in the message, the provision information relating to a movement path of the device.

[0013] A method performed by an apparatus (300) according to one embodiment of the present disclosure includes obtaining time information regarding permission to transmit provision information used to set a TA (Tracking Area) list for a communication device (100), and transmitting a message including the time information to the communication device, the provision information relating to a movement route of the communication device.

[0014] According to the present disclosure, it is possible to suppress an increase in signaling related to updating or setting a TA list. Note that the present disclosure may provide other effects instead of or in addition to the above effect. [Brief description of the drawings]

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0016] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. In this specification and the drawings, elements that can be similarly described may be denoted by the same reference numerals, and repeated description may be omitted.

[0017] The explanation will be given in the following order: 1. System Configuration 2. User device configuration 3. Base Station Configuration 4. Network Node Configuration 5. Configuring the Processing Node 6. First embodiment (Providing route information) 7. Second embodiment (providing a TA list) 8. Third embodiment (timer for transmitting provided information)

[0018] <1. System configuration> An example of the configuration of a system 1 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to Fig. 1. Referring to Fig. 1, the system 1 includes a user equipment (communication device) 100, a base station 200, and a core network 30. The core network 30 includes a network node 300 and a processing node 400.

[0019] For example, the system 1 is a system that complies with the Technical Specification (TS) of 3GPP. More specifically, for example, the system 1 is a system that complies with the TS of 5G or NR (New Radio). Of course, the system 1 is not limited to this example. The system 1 may be a system that complies with other TS of 3GPP. As an example, the system 1 may be a system that complies with the TS of LTE, LTE-A (LTE Advanced), or 4G, and the base station 200 may be an eNB (evolved Node B). Alternatively, the base station 200 may be an ng-eNB. As another example, the system 1 may be a system that complies with the TS of 3G, and the base station 200 may be a Node B. As yet another example, the system 1 may be a system that complies with the TS of the next generation (for example, 6G). Alternatively, the system 1 may be a system that complies with the TS of another standardization organization for mobile communications.

[0020] (1)UE100 The UE 100 communicates with a base station. For example, the UE 100 communicates with the base station 200 when the UE 100 is located within a coverage area 10 of the base station 200.

[0021] For example, the UE 100 communicates with a base station (e.g., the base station 200) using a protocol stack of a Radio Access Network (RAN). For example, the protocol stack includes Radio Resource Control (RRC), Service Data Adaptation Protocol (SDAP), Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP), Radio Link Control (RLC), Medium Access Control (MAC), and a Physical (PHY) layer protocol. Alternatively, the protocol stack may include only some of these protocols rather than all of them.

[0022] Furthermore, the UE 100 communicates with a network node (for example, the network node 300) using a Non Access Stratum (NAS) protocol. For example, the UE 100 transmits an NAS message to the base station 200. The NAS message is transmitted from the base station 200 to the network node 300.

[0023] In particular, the UE 100 is mounted on a moving object. For example, the moving object may be an aircraft such as a UAV, or a vehicle such as an autonomous vehicle or a manually driven vehicle having a navigation function. In the moving object, a moving path may be set in advance. The UE 100 can benefit from communication control based on the moving path by reporting the moving path to a network (i.e., the base station 200). The reporting of the moving path may be supported, for example, by a Flight Path mechanism, or may be supported by other moving path reporting mechanisms.

[0024] 2, for example, UE 100 reports a set movement route to base station 200. Based on a future position of UE 100 estimated from the reported movement route, base station 200 performs a process for handover or beamforming in advance. This makes it possible to perform communication control suitable for the estimated position at the timing when UE 100 arrives at the estimated position.

[0025] In addition, a TA list is set in UE 100 for location management. For example, the TA list is a Tracking Area Identity (TAI) list. The TA list is set by network node 300. UE 100 receives the set TA list from network node 300. When UE 100 is located in a TA indicated by the TA list, it does not execute a TAU Procedure (hereinafter, TAU). However, when UE 100 moves to a TA other than the TA indicated by the TA list, UE 100 executes a TAU for network node 300. The TA list is updated by TAU, and UE 100 receives the updated TA list from network node 300. (2) Base station 200 The base station 200 is a node of the RAN and communicates with UEs (eg, UE 100) located within the coverage area 10 of the base station 200.

[0026] For example, the base station 200 communicates with a UE (eg, the UE 100) using the above protocol stack.

[0027] The base station 200 also communicates with nodes located within the core network 30 (eg, network node 300, processing node 400).

[0028] For example, the base station 200 communicates with nodes (eg, network node 300, processing node 400) located in the core network 30 using the NG Application Protocol (NGAP).

[0029] For example, the base station 200 is a gNB. The gNB is a node that provides NR user plane and control plane protocol terminations towards the UE and is connected to a 5G Core Network (5GC) via an NG interface. Alternatively, the base station 200 may be an en-gNB. The en-gNB is a node that provides NR user plane and control plane protocol terminations towards the UE and operates as a secondary node in E-UTRA-NR Dual Connectivity (EN-DC).

[0030] The base station 200 may include a plurality of nodes. The plurality of nodes may include a first node hosting a higher layer included in the protocol stack, and a second node hosting a lower layer included in the protocol stack. The higher layer may include RRC, SDAP, and PDCP, and the lower layer may include RLC, MAC, and a PHY layer. The first node may be a central unit (CU), and the second node may be a distributed unit (DU). The plurality of nodes may include a third node performing processing below the PHY layer, and the second node may perform processing above the PHY layer. The third node may be a radio unit (RU).

[0031] Alternatively, the base station 200 may be one of the plurality of nodes, and may be connected to other units of the plurality of nodes.

[0032] The base station 200 may be an Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) donor or an IAB node.

[0033] (3) Network node 300 The network node 300 is a network function of the core network 30. For example, the network node 300 is an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF).

[0034] The network node 300 communicates with a UE (e.g., UE 100) via a base station (e.g., base station 200). For example, the network node 300 communicates with the base station 200 using the NGAP. Also, the network node 300 communicates with the UE 100 using the NAS protocol.

[0035] The network node 300 sets a TA list. Specifically, in response to a request from the UE 100, the network node 300 sets a TA list consisting of one or more TAs based on the cell in which the UE 100 is located. The network node 300 transmits the set TA list to the UE 100. In addition, the network node 300 updates the TA list in a TAU and transmits the updated TA list to the UE 100.

[0036] (4) Processing node 400 The processing node 400 is a network function that performs processing using AI (Artificial Intelligence). The AI may be trained by ML (Machine Learning). Release 18 of 3GPP discusses the use of AI or ML in communication systems (see, for example, TR 22.874). The processing node 400 may be one form of utilizing the AI or ML. For example, the processing node 400 may be implemented in the form of a server, but the implementation form of the processing node 400 is not limited to this.

[0037] For example, the processing node 400 is disposed in the core network 30 as shown in Fig. 1. However, the processing node 400 may be disposed outside the core network. For example, the processing node 400 may be disposed in an external network such as the Internet or a wireless access network.

[0038] The processing node 400 communicates with a UE (e.g., UE 100), a base station (e.g., base station 200), and a network node (e.g., network node 300). A communication method according to the arrangement of the processing node 400 may be used for the communication of the processing node 400. For example, if the processing node 400 is arranged in a core network, the processing node 400 may communicate with the base station 200 using NGAP. In that case, the processing node 400 may communicate with the UE 100 using the NAS protocol. Note that a protocol defined for the communication of the processing node 400 may be used instead of or together with the above-mentioned existing protocols.

[0039] <2. User device configuration> An example of the configuration of the UE 100 according to the embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to FIG. 3 and FIG.

[0040] (1) Functional configuration First, an example of a functional configuration of the UE 100 according to the embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to Fig. 3. [0041] The wireless communication unit 110 transmits and receives signals wirelessly. For example, the wireless communication unit 110 receives a signal from a base station and transmits the signal to the base station. For example, the wireless communication unit 110 receives a signal from another UE and transmits the signal to the other UE.

[0042] The storage unit 120 stores various information for the UE 100.

[0043] The processing unit 130 provides various functions of the UE 100. The processing unit 130 includes an information acquisition unit 131, a control unit 133, and a communication processing unit 135. The processing unit 130 may further include other components in addition to these components. [0057] The network communication unit 220 receives signals from the network and transmits signals to the network.

[0058] The storage unit 230 stores various information for the base station 200 .

[0059] The processing unit 240 provides various functions of the base station 200. [0076] For example, the processing unit 330 (communication processing unit 335) communicates with a base station (e.g., base station 200) via the network communication unit 310. For example, the processing unit 330 (communication processing unit 335) communicates with a UE (e.g., UE 100) via the network communication unit 310 and the base station (e.g., base station 200).

[0077] (2) Hardware Configuration Next, an example of a hardware configuration of the network node 300 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to Fig. 8. Referring to Fig. 8, the network node 300 includes a network interface 381, a processor 383, a memory 385, and a storage 387.

[0078] The network interface 381 is, for example, a network adapter, and transmits signals to and receives signals from a network.

[0079] The processor 383 processes signals transmitted and received via the network interface 381. The processor 383 may include multiple processors or may be a single processor.

[0080] The memory 385 stores programs executed by the processor 383, parameters related to the programs, and various other information. The memory 385 may include at least one of a ROM, an EPROM, an EEPROM, a RAM, and a flash memory. All or a part of the memory 385 may be included within the processor 383.

[0081] The storage 387 stores various information. The storage 387 may include at least one of an SSD and an HDD.

[0082] The network communication unit 310 may be implemented by a network interface 381. The memory unit 320 may be implemented by a storage 387. The processing unit 330 may be implemented by a processor 383 and a memory 385.

[0083] A part or all of the processing unit 330 may be virtualized. In other words, a part or all of the processing unit 330 may be implemented as a virtual machine. In this case, a part or all of the processing unit 330 may operate as a virtual machine on a physical machine (i.e., hardware) including a processor, a memory, and the like, and on a hypervisor.

[0084] Considering the above hardware configuration, network node 300 may include a memory (i.e., memory 385) that stores a program, and one or more processors (i.e., processor 383) that can execute the program, and the one or more processors may execute the program to perform the operation of processing unit 330. The program may be a program for causing the processor to execute the operation of processing unit 330. <5. Processing node configuration> An example of the configuration of the processing node 400 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure will be described. Note that the functional configuration and hardware configuration of the processing node 400 are substantially the same as the configurations of the network node 300 with the same names, and therefore illustrations and detailed descriptions thereof will be omitted.

[0085] (1) Functional configuration First, an example of a functional configuration of the processing node 400 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure will be described. The processing node 400 includes a network communication unit 410, a storage unit 420, and a processing unit 430. The processing unit 430 includes an information acquisition unit 431, a control unit 433, and a communication processing unit 435.

[0086] (2) Hardware Configuration Next, a description will be given of an example of a hardware configuration of the processing node 400 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. The processing node 400 includes a network interface 481, a processor 483, a memory 485, and a storage 487.

[0087] <6. First embodiment> A first embodiment of the present disclosure will be described. In the first embodiment, route information is transmitted as provided information from a UE 100 to a network node 300 via a base station 200. In addition, the route information is provided from the network node 300 to a processing node 400, and the processing node 400 converts the route information into a TA list.

[0088] <6-1. Example of operation> With reference to FIG. 9, an example of operations and related information of the UE 100, the base station 200, the network node 300, and the processing node 400 according to the first embodiment of the present disclosure will be described.

[0089] (1) Operation of UE100 The UE 100 transmits the route information to the network node 300. In response to the route information, the UE 100 receives a TA list from the network node 300. The operation of the UE 100 and related information will be described in detail below.

[0090] (1-1) Obtaining route information The UE 100 acquires provided information related to a movement route of the UE 100, which is information used for setting a TA list for the UE 100. For example, the provided information is route information that indicates at least the movement route of the UE 100.

[0091] Specifically, UE 100 (information acquisition unit 131) acquires route information. For example, UE 100 acquires route information from an application. In other words, the NAS layer of UE 100 acquires route information from a layer above the NAS layer (for example, an application layer). For example, the travel route is a scheduled (i.e., planned) travel route. Also, the application may be a navigation application.

[0092] For example, the route information may be a flightPathInfoReport or equivalent information.

[0093] (1-2) Sending route information The UE 100 transmits the acquired route information to the network. Specifically, the UE 100 (communication processing unit 135) transmits a message including the route information as the provision information to the network.

[0094] Specifically, the network to which the message is sent is a network node 300 in the core network 30. For example, the UE 100 sends a NAS message including route information to the AMF, which is the network node 300. The NAS message is sent to the network node 300 via the base station 200.

[0095] In this way, by using signaling between the UE and the network node, it is possible to transmit route information from the UE 100 to the network node 300 without changing the operation of the lower layer.

[0096] For example, the NAS message containing the route information may be a RegistrationRequest message or a ServiceRequest message.

[0097] This makes it possible to transmit route information as provision information used to set the TA list to the network node 300 that sets the TA list by utilizing existing signaling between the UE and the network. This makes it possible to prevent the addition of new signaling.

[0098] In addition, the NAS message including the route information may be an additionally defined NAS message for transmitting the route information. In this case, the route information can be transmitted to the network node 300 without changing the existing NAS message.

[0099] (1-3) Receiving the TA list After transmitting the information to be provided, the UE 100 receives a message including the TA list from the network. Specifically, the UE 100 (communication processing unit 135) receives a message including the TA list from the network as a response to the route information as the information to be provided. The TA list is based on the route information.

[0100] For example, UE 100 receives a NAS message including a TA list set in UE 100 from AMF, which is a network node 300, via base station 200 in response to a NAS message including route information.

[0101] In this way, by using signaling between the UE and the network node, the TA list can be transmitted from the network node 300 to the UE 100 without changing the operation of the lower layers.

[0102] For example, the NAS message including the TA list may be a RegistrationAccept message in response to a RegistrationRequest message or a ServiceAccept message in response to a ServiceRequest message.

[0103] This allows the TA list to be received from the network by utilizing the existing mechanism of signaling and response between the UE and the network, thereby making it possible to prevent the addition of new signaling.

[0104] In addition, the message including the TA list may be an additionally defined message for transmitting the TA list. In this case, the TA list can be received from the network without changing the existing message.

[0105] (2) Operation of Base Station 200 The base station 200 transfers the route information received from the UE 100 to the network node 300. The base station 200 also transfers the TA list received from the network node 300 to the UE 100. The operation of the base station 200 and related information will be described in detail below. Note that detailed descriptions of contents that are substantially the same as those described in the operation of the UE 100 will be omitted.

[0106] (2-1) Transfer of route information The base station 200 transfers the route information received from the UE 100 to the network node 300. Specifically, the base station 200 (first communication processing unit 243) receives a message including the route information as information to be provided from the UE 100. The base station 200 (second communication processing unit 245) transmits the message including the route information to the network node 300.

[0107] For example, the base station 200 (first communication processing unit 243) receives a NAS message including route information as provision information from the UE 100. The base station 200 (second communication processing unit 245) transmits the NAS message to the AMF, which is the network node 300.

[0108] (2-2) Transfer of TA list The base station 200 transfers the TA list received from the network node 300 to the UE 100. Specifically, the base station 200 (the second communication processing unit 245) receives a message including the TA list from the network node 300. The base station 200 (the first communication processing unit 243) transmits the message including the TA list to the UE 100.

[0109] For example, the base station 200 (the second communication processing unit 245) receives a NAS message including a TA list from the AMF, which is the network node 300. The base station 200 (the first communication processing unit 243) transmits the NAS message to the UE 100.

[0110] (3) Operation of the Network Node 300 The network node 300 receives route information from the UE 100. The network node 300 obtains a TA list based on the route information. The network node 300 transmits the TA list to the UE 100. The operation of the network node 300 and related information will be described in detail below. Note that detailed descriptions of contents that are substantially the same as those described in the operation of the UE 100 or the base station 200 will be omitted.

[0111] (3-1) Receiving route information The network node 300 receives the route information from the UE 100 via the base station 200. Specifically, the network node 300 (communication processing unit 335) receives a message including the route information as information to be provided from the UE 100. The network node 300 (information acquisition unit 331) acquires the route information included in the message.

[0112] For example, the network node 300 receives a NAS message including route information from the UE 100 via the base station 200. The network node 300 acquires the route information included in the received NAS message. For example, the network node 300 receives a Registration Request message or a Service Request message including route information.

[0113] (3-2) Obtaining the TA list The network node 300 acquires a TA list based on the route information. Specifically, the network node 300 (communication processing unit 335) transmits a message including the route information to a processing function that performs a TA list conversion process, and receives a message including the TA list from the processing function. The network node 300 (information acquisition unit 331) acquires the TA list included in the message received from the processing function. The processing function is, for example, the processing node 400.

[0114] For example, the network node 300 transmits a message including the route information received from the UE 100 to the processing node 400, and receives a message including a TA list obtained based on the route information from the processing node 400. Note that the protocol and message used for communication between the network node 300 and the processing node 400 may be an existing protocol and message, or may be newly defined.

[0115] In this way, the network node 300 acquires a TA list based on the route information by using the processing node 400. This makes it possible to reduce the calculation cost in the network node 300 compared to the case where the network node 300 calculates the TA list from the route information. Also, by performing the TA list conversion process in the processing node 400, more calculation resources can be used for the TA list conversion process than when the network node 300, which performs various other processes such as AMF, performs the TA list conversion process. Therefore, it is possible to improve the accuracy of the calculation result.

[0116] (3-3) Submitting the TA list The network node 300 transmits the TA list to the UE 100. Specifically, the network node 300 (the communication processing unit 335) transmits, to the UE 100, a message including the acquired TA list.

[0117] For example, the network node 300 transmits a NAS message including the TA list to the UE 100 via the base station 200. For example, if the received NAS message including the route information is a Registration Request message, the network node 300 transmits a Registration Accept message including the TA list to the UE 100. Also, if the received NAS message including the route information is a Service Request message, the network node 300 transmits a Service Accept message including the TA list to the UE 100.

[0118] (4) Operation of the Processing Node 400 The processing node 400 converts the route information received from the network node 300 into a TA list. The processing node 400 transmits the converted TA list to the network node 300. The operation of the processing node 400 and related information will be described in detail below. Note that detailed descriptions of contents that are substantially the same as those described in the operation of the network node 300 will be omitted.

[0119] (4-1) Receiving route information The processing node 400 receives the route information from the network node 300. Specifically, the processing node 400 (communication processing unit 435) receives a message including the route information from the network node 300. The processing node 400 (information acquisition unit 431) acquires the route information included in the message.

[0120] (4-2) TA list conversion process The processing node 400 acquires a TA list based on the route information. Specifically, the processing node 400 (information acquisition unit 431) acquires a TA list by a TA list conversion process based on the route information. The processing node 400 performs the TA list conversion process using AI.

[0121] For example, the processing node 400 inputs the received route information to an AI that performs a TA list conversion process, and obtains the TA list output by the AI. The AI is a computational model. The AI may be trained by ML using the route information. In this case, the AI is a trained ML model.

[0122] In this way, by using AI to perform the TA list conversion process, it is expected that the computational cost and computation time of the TA list conversion process will be reduced. In addition, by training the AI by ML, it is expected that the computational cost and computation time will be reduced and the accuracy of the processing results will be improved.

[0123] (4-3) Submitting the TA list The processing node 400 transmits the TA list to the network node 300. Specifically, the processing node 400 (communication processing unit 435) transmits to the network node 300 a message including the TA list acquired by the TA list conversion process.

[0124] The message including the TA list may be a response message to a message including the route information received from the network node 300.

[0125] (5) Processing flow An example of processing according to the first embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to FIG.

[0126] The UE 100 transmits a NAS message including the route information to the network node 300 via the base station 200 (S510). For example, the UE 100 transmits a NAS message including the route information to the base station 200. The base station 200 forwards the NAS message to the network node 300.

[0127] The network node 300 transmits a message including the route information to the processing node 400 (S520). For example, the network node 300 transmits to the processing node 400 the route information included in the NAS message received from the UE 100.

[0128] The processing node 400 transmits a message including the TA list to the network node 300 (S530). For example, the processing node 400 acquires the TA list by inputting the route information received from the network node 300 to an AI (e.g., a machine learning model). The processing node 400 transmits a message including the acquired TA list to the network node 300.

[0129] The network node 300 transmits a message including the TA list to the UE 100 via the base station 200 (S540). For example, the network node 300 transmits a NAS message including the TA list included in the message received from the processing node 400 to the base station 200. The base station 200 forwards the NAS message to the UE 100.

[0130] (6) Effects In this way, according to the first embodiment of the present disclosure, a message including information used to set a TA list for UE 100 and provided information related to the movement route of UE 100 is transmitted from UE 100 to the network. This allows the network side to set a TA list for UE 100 taking into account the movement route of UE 100. Specifically, it is possible to reduce the possibility that UE 100 moves outside the TA indicated by the TA list. Therefore, the occurrence of updates to the TA list is suppressed. Therefore, it is possible to suppress an increase in signaling related to updates to the TA list. As a result, it is possible to suppress consumption of radio resources and power.

[0131] The provided information includes route information. This allows the network side that sets the TA list to generate a TA list suitable for the movement route. For example, by generating a TA list in a network that has more abundant computational resources than the UE 100, it is expected to reduce the generation time and improve the accuracy of the generated result compared to the case where the TA list is generated in the UE 100.

[0132] Furthermore, with reference to FIG. 10 and FIG. 11, the setting of the TA list will be compared between the conventional technology and the first embodiment of the present disclosure, and the effects of the first embodiment of the present disclosure will be described.

[0133] First, a conventional setting of a TA list will be described with reference to Fig. 10. A TA is composed of one or more cells, and a TA list composed of multiple TAs is set. For example, as shown in Fig. 10, TA1 to TA6 are set, and TA list A consisting of TA1 and TA2, TA3 and TA4 are set. TA4 and a TA list C consisting of TA5 and TA6 are set.

[0134] Conventionally, the movement route of UE 100 is not taken into consideration when setting the TA list. Therefore, TA list A is set for UE 100 located in TA2. However, when UE 100 moves along a route as shown by the arrow in FIG. 10, UE 100 moves from TA2 to TA3. Since TA2 and TA3 belong to different TA lists, TAU occurs. Similarly, TAU occurs when UE 100 moves from TA3 to TA5. Therefore, TAU occurs frequently. That is, signaling related to updating the TA list increases.

[0135] Next, setting of the TA list according to the first embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to Fig. 11. For example, TA1 to TA6 are set in the same manner as in Fig. 10. However, in the first embodiment of the present disclosure, as shown in Fig. 11, a TA list A consisting of TA1, TA2, TA3, and TA5and a TA list C consisting of TA4 and TA6 are set.

[0136] 11. The UE 100 located in TA2 is set with the TA list B. Therefore, even if the UE 100 moves along a route as shown by the arrow in FIG. TA5 In this way, since the UE 100 does not move to a TA outside the TA list B, a TAU does not occur. Therefore, according to the first embodiment of the present disclosure, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of a TAU. That is, it is possible to suppress an increase in signaling related to updating the TA list.

[0137] <6-2. Modifications> First to third modified examples according to the first embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to Figures 12 and 13. Note that two or more of these modified examples may be combined.

[0138] (1) First modification: TA list conversion at a network node In the first embodiment of the present disclosure described above, the processing node 400 performs the TA list conversion process. list The subject of the conversion process is not limited to this example.

[0139] As a first modification of the first embodiment of the present disclosure, the network node 300 may perform the TA list conversion process.

[0140] Specifically, the network node 300 (control unit 333) performs a TA list conversion process based on the route information. The network node 300 (information acquisition unit 331) acquires a TA list through the TA list conversion process. For example, when the network node 300 receives route information from the UE 100, the network node 300 performs a TA list conversion process based on the route information. A TA list based on the route information is acquired through the TA list conversion process. Note that an AI held by the network node 300 may be used for the TA list conversion process.

[0141] For example, instead of the processes of S520 and S530 enclosed by dashed lines in FIG.

[0142] In addition, in a second modified example described later, the TA list conversion process may also be performed in the network node 300. For example, instead of the processes of S630, S640, and S750 and S760 surrounded by dashed lines shown in Fig. 12 and Fig. 13, the TA list conversion process may be performed in the network node 300.

[0143] In this way, according to the first modification of the first embodiment of the present disclosure, the network node 300 can obtain the TA list based on the route information without communication with the processing node 400. Therefore, signaling can be reduced. That is, communication resources and power consumption related to signaling can be reduced.

[0144] (2) Second variant: RRC and NGAP transmit routing information and TA list In the first embodiment of the present disclosure described above, the route information and the TA list are transmitted using the NAS protocol. However, the communication protocol used for transmitting the route information and the TA list according to the first embodiment of the present disclosure is not limited to this example.

[0145] As a second modification of the first embodiment of the present disclosure, the RRC protocol and NGAP may be used for transmitting route information and the TA list.

[0146] (2-1) Sending route information Specifically, an RRC message including the route information is transmitted from the UE 100 to the base station 200 of the RAN, and an NGAP message including the route information is transmitted from the base station 200 to the network node 300.

[0147] For example, the UE 100 (communication processing unit 135) transmits an RRC message including route information to the base station 200. The base station 200 (first communication processing unit 243) receives the RRC message from the UE 100. The base station 200 (information acquisition unit 241) acquires the route information from the RRC message. The base station 200 (second communication processing unit 245) transmits an NGAP message including the route information to the network node 300.

[0148] For example, the RRC message including the route information may be a UEInformationResponse message or a UEAssistanceInformation message.

[0149] This makes it possible to transmit route information as provision information from the UE 100 to the network node 300 by utilizing existing signaling between the UE and the base station and existing signaling between the base station and the network node. This makes it possible to prevent the addition of new signaling.

[0150] The RRC message including the route information may be an additionally defined RRC message for transmitting the route information. In this case, the route information can be transmitted to the base station 200 without changing the existing RRC message.

[0151] (2-2) Submitting the TA list In addition, an NGAP message including the TA list is transmitted from the network node 300 to the base station 200, and an RRC message including the TA list is transmitted from the base station 200 to the UE 100.

[0152] For example, the network node 300 (communication processing unit 335) transmits an NGAP message including a TA list to the base station 200. The base station 200 (second communication processing unit 245) receives the NGAP message from the network node 300. The base station 200 (information acquisition unit 241) acquires the TA list from the NGAP message. The base station 200 (first communication processing unit 243) transmits an RRC message including the TA list to the UE 100.

[0153] For example, the RRC message including the TA list may be an RRCReconfiguration message, or, if available, an RRC message including the TA list may be an RRCSetup, RRCReestablishment, or RRCResume message.

[0154] This allows the TA list to be transmitted from the network node 300 to the UE 100 by utilizing existing signaling between the UE and the base station and existing signaling between the base station and the network node. This makes it possible to prevent the addition of new signaling.

[0155] (2-3) Processing flow An example of processing according to the second modified example of the first embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to Fig. 12. Note that a description of processing that is substantially the same as that in Fig. 9 will be omitted.

[0156] The UE 100 transmits an RRC message including the route information to the base station 200 (S610). For example, the UE 100 transmits a UEInformationResponse message or a UEAssistanceInformation message including the route information to the base station 200.

[0157] The base station 200 transmits an NGAP message including the route information to the network node 300 (S620). For example, the base station 200 transmits an NGAP message including the route information received from the UE 100 to the network node 300.

[0158] The network node 300 transmits a message including the route information to the processing node 400 (S630). The processing node 400 transmits a message including the TA list to the network node 300 (S640).

[0159] The network node 300 transmits (S650) an NGAP message including the TA list to the base station 200. For example, the network node 300 transmits an NGAP message including the TA list received from the processing node 400 to the base station 200.

[0160] The base station 200 includes a TA list. RRC The base station 200 transmits a message to the UE 100 (S660). For example, the base station 200 transmits an RRCReconfiguration message including the TA list received from the network node 300 to the UE 100. Note that the TA list may be transmitted to the UE 100 by using a downlink RRC message corresponding to each procedure at the timing when a procedure such as RRCSetup, RRCReestablishment, or RRCResume occurs.

[0161] Also, when the RRC message including the route information is a UEInformationResponse message, the existing Flight Path mechanism of Release 15 may be used. An example of processing when the existing Flight Path mechanism is used will be described with reference to Fig. 13. Note that the description of processing that is substantially the same as Fig. 9 and Fig. 12 will be omitted.

[0162] The UE 100 transmits an RRC message including information indicating availability of route information to the base station 200 (S710). For example, the UE 100 transmits an RRC message including flightPathInfoAvailable or information equivalent thereto to the base station 200. For example, the RRC message may be an RRC message (e.g., RRCSetupComp, RRCReestablishmentComp, RRCResumeComp, RRCReconfigurationComp) in response to an RRC message from the base station.

[0163] The base station 200 transmits an RRC message including the route request information to the UE 100 (S720). For example, when the received RRC message includes information indicating the availability of route information, the base station 200 transmits a UEInformationRequest message including flightPathInfoReq or equivalent route request information to the UE 100.

[0164] The UE 100 transmits an RRC message including the route information to the base station 200 (S730). For example, when the received UEInformationRequest message includes route request information, the UE 100 transmits a UEInformationResponse message including a flightPathInfoReport or equivalent route information to the base station 200.

[0165] The process from S740 onwards is substantially the same as the process from S620 onwards in FIG. 12, and therefore a description thereof will be omitted.

[0166] Thus, according to the second variant of the first embodiment of the present disclosure, even if communication is not directly established between the UE and the network node, route information as provision information can be transmitted from UE 100 to network node 300, or a TA list can be transmitted from network node 300 to UE 100.

[0167] (3) Third Modification: Transmitting intermediate information from a network node to a processing node In the above-described first embodiment of the present disclosure, the route information is transmitted from the network node 300 to the processing node 400. However, the information transmitted to the processing node 400 according to the first embodiment of the present disclosure is not limited to this example.

[0168] As a third modified example of the first embodiment of the present disclosure, intermediate information (in other words, an intermediate product) obtained by processing the route information may be transmitted from the network node 300 to the processing node 400.

[0169] Specifically, the network node 300 (control unit 333) performs a part of the TA list conversion process based on the route information. The network node 300 (information acquisition unit 331) acquires intermediate information by the part of the TA list conversion process. The network node 300 (communication processing unit 335) transmits a message including the intermediate information to the processing node 400.

[0170] Furthermore, the processing node 400 (communication processing unit 435) receives a message including the above intermediate information from the network node 300. The processing node 400 (control unit 433) performs the remainder of the TA list conversion process based on the intermediate information. The processing node 400 (information acquisition unit 431) acquires the TA list from the remainder of the TA list conversion process. The processing node 400 (communication processing unit 435) transmits a message including the TA list to the network node 300.

[0171] For example, the intermediate information may be the output of an AI that performs part of the TA list conversion process. The AI may be part of an AI that performs the TA list conversion process. The AI may also be transmitted to the network node 300 from the processing node 400 or another node.

[0172] In this way, according to the third modified example of the first embodiment of the present disclosure, a part of the TA list conversion process is performed in the network node 300, thereby reducing the computation cost or processing load of the processing node 400. In other words, the computation cost or processing load of the process can be distributed between the network node 300 and the processing node 400.

[0173] In addition, whether to transmit the intermediate information to the processing node 400 may be selected. Specifically, the network node 300 selects whether to transmit the intermediate information or the route information according to the processing load status of the processing node 400. For example, the network node 300 transmits the intermediate information when the processing load of the processing node 400 is high, and transmits the route information when the processing load is not high. In addition, whether to transmit the intermediate information or the route information may be selected according to the processing load status of the network node 300. For example, when the processing load of the network node 300 is high, the intermediate information is transmitted, and when the processing load is not high, the route information is transmitted.

[0174] <7. Second embodiment> Next, a second embodiment of the present disclosure will be described. In the second embodiment, a TA list is transmitted as provided information from the UE 100 to the network node 300 via the base station 200. In addition, route information is provided from the UE 100 to the processing node 400, and the processing node 400 converts the route information into a TA list.

[0175] <7-1. Example of operation> An example of operations and related information of the UE 100, the base station 200, the network node 300, and the processing node 400 according to the second embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to Fig. 14. Note that detailed description of contents that are substantially the same as those in the first embodiment will be omitted.

[0176] (1) Operation of UE100 The UE 100 sends the TA list to the network node 300. The operation of the UE 100 and related information are described in detail below.

[0177] (1-1) Obtaining the TA list The UE 100 acquires the TA list as information to be provided. Specifically, the UE 100 (information acquisition unit 131) acquires the TA list based on route information.

[0178] More specifically, when the UE 100 (communication processing unit 135) acquires the route information, the UE 100 (communication processing unit 135) transmits a message including the route information to the processing node 400. The UE 100 (communication processing unit 135) receives a message including the TA list from the processing node 400.

[0179] For example, when the UE 100 acquires route information from an upper layer such as an application, the UE 100 transmits a message including the route information to the processing node 400. The UE 100 receives a message including a TA list based on the route information from the processing node 400. Note that the protocol and message used for communication between the UE 100 and the processing node 400 may be an existing protocol and message, or may be newly defined.

[0180] In this way, UE 100 acquires a TA list based on route information using the processing node 400. This makes it possible to reduce the calculation cost in UE 100 compared to the case where UE 100 calculates the TA list from route information. Also, by performing the TA list conversion process in the processing node 400, it is possible to improve the accuracy of the calculation result compared to the case where UE 100, which does not have abundant calculation resources, performs the TA list conversion process. Also, it is possible to reduce the power consumption of UE 100, which has limited storage power.

[0181] (1-2) Submitting the TA list The UE 100 transmits the TA list to the network node 300. Specifically, the UE 100 (communication processing unit 135) transmits to the network node 300 a message including the TA list as provision information.

[0182] For example, the UE 100 transmits a NAS message including a TA list based on the route information to the AMF, which is the network node 300. The NAS message is transmitted to the network node 300 via the base station 200.

[0183] For example, the NAS message containing the TA list may be a RegistrationRequest message or a ServiceRequest message.

[0184] The NAS message including the TA list may be an additionally defined NAS message for transmitting the TA list. In this case, the TA list can be transmitted to the network node 300 without changing the existing NAS message.

[0185] (2) Operation of Base Station 200 The base station 200 transfers the TA list received from the UE 100 to the network node 300. The operation of the base station 200 and related information will be described in detail below. Note that detailed description of contents that are substantially the same as the description of the operation of the UE 100 will be omitted.

[0186] (2-1) Transfer of TA list The base station 200 transfers the TA list received from the UE 100 to the network node 300. Specifically, the base station 200 (first communication processing unit 243) receives a message including the TA list as information to be provided from the UE 100. The base station 200 (second communication processing unit 245) transmits the message including the TA list to the network node 300.

[0187] For example, the base station 200 (first communication processing unit 243) receives a NAS message including a TA list from the UE 100. The base station 200 (second communication processing unit 245) transmits the NAS message to the AMF, which is the network node 300.

[0188] (3) Operation of the Network Node 300 The network node 300 receives the TA list from the UE 100 and sets the TA list. The operation of the network node 300 and related information will be described in detail below. Note that detailed descriptions of contents that are substantially the same as those in the description of the operation of the UE 100 or the base station 200 will be omitted.

[0189] (3-1) Receiving the TA list The network node 300 receives the TA list from the UE 100 via the base station 200. Specifically, the network node 300 (communication processing unit 335) receives a message including the TA list as information to be provided from the UE 100. The network node 300 (information acquisition unit 331) acquires the TA list included in the message.

[0190] For example, the network node 300 receives a NAS message including a TA list from the UE 100 via the base station 200. The network node 300 obtains the TA list included in the received NAS message. For example, the network node 300 receives a Registration Request message or a Service Request message including the TA list.

[0191] The network node 300 sets the received TA list for the UE 100. If a TA list has already been set for the UE 100, the set TA list is updated with the received TA list.

[0192] (4) Operation of the Processing Node 400 The processing node 400 converts the route information received from the UE 100 into a TA list. The processing node 400 transmits the converted TA list to the UE 100. The operation of the processing node 400 and related information will be described in detail below. Note that detailed descriptions of contents that are substantially the same as those in the description of the operation of the UE 100 will be omitted.

[0193] (4-1) Receiving route information The processing node 400 receives route information from the UE 100. Specifically, the processing node 400 (communication processing unit 435) receives a message including the route information from the UE 100. The processing node 400 (information acquisition unit 431) acquires the route information included in the message.

[0194] (4-2) TA list conversion process The processing node 400 acquires the TA list based on the route information. Note that the TA list conversion process is substantially the same as the process in the first embodiment, and therefore a detailed description thereof will be omitted.

[0195] (4-3) Submitting the TA list The processing node 400 transmits the TA list to the UE 100. Specifically, the processing node 400 (the communication processing unit 435) transmits to the UE 100 a message including the TA list acquired by the TA list conversion process.

[0196] In addition, the message including the TA list may be a response message to a message including the route information received from the UE 100.

[0197] (5) Processing flow An example of processing according to the second embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to FIG.

[0198] The UE 100 transmits a message including the route information to the processing node 400 (S810). For example, the UE 100 transmits the message including the route information to the processing node 400 via the base station 200. Note that the message between the UE 100 and the base station 200 may be an RRC message.

[0199] The processing node 400 transmits a message including the TA list to the UE 100 (S820). For example, the processing node 400 acquires the TA list by inputting the route information received from the UE 100 to an AI (for example, a machine learning model). The processing node 400 transmits a message including the acquired TA list to the UE 100 via the base station 200.

[0200] The UE 100 transmits a message including the TA list to the network node 300 via the base station 200 (S830). For example, the UE 100 transmits a NAS message including the TA list included in the message received from the processing node 400 to the base station 200. The base station 200 forwards the NAS message to the network node 300.

[0201] (6) Effects In this way, according to the second embodiment of the present disclosure, as in the first embodiment, it is possible to suppress an increase in signaling related to updating the TA list. As a result, it is possible to suppress consumption of radio resources and power. Note that, as in the first embodiment, the effects described with reference to FIG. 11 are obtained.

[0202] The provided information includes a TA list based on the route information. This allows a TA list that takes the movement route into consideration to be set without generating a TA list on the network side. That is, it is possible to set a TA list that is suitable for the movement route while suppressing an increase in the processing load of the network node 300.

[0203] <7-2.Modifications> First to third modified examples according to the second embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to Fig. 15. Note that two or more of these modified examples may be combined.

[0204] (1) First modification: TA list conversion in UE In the above-described second embodiment of the present disclosure, the processing node 400 performs the TA list conversion process. list The subject of the conversion process is not limited to this example.

[0205] As a first modified example of the second embodiment of the present disclosure, the UE 100 may perform the TA list conversion process.

[0206] Specifically, UE 100 (control unit 133) performs a TA list conversion process based on the route information. UE 100 (information acquisition unit 131) acquires a TA list through the TA list conversion process. For example, when UE 100 acquires route information from a higher layer, UE 100 performs a TA list conversion process based on the route information. A TA list based on the route information is acquired through the TA list conversion process. Note that an AI held by UE 100 may be used for the TA list conversion process.

[0207] For example, instead of the processes of S810 and S820 enclosed by dashed lines shown in FIG.

[0208] In addition, in a second modified example described later, the TA list conversion process may also be performed in the UE 100. For example, instead of the processes of S910 and S920 surrounded by a dashed line shown in FIG. 15, the TA list conversion process may be performed in the UE 100.

[0209] In this way, according to the first modification of the second embodiment of the present disclosure, the UE 100 can obtain the TA list based on the route information without communication with the processing node 400. Therefore, it is possible to reduce signaling. That is, it is possible to reduce communication resources and power consumption related to the signaling.

[0210] (2) Second variant: Sending TA list via RRC and NGAP In the above-described second embodiment of the present disclosure, the TA list is transmitted using the NAS protocol. However, the communication protocol used for transmitting the TA list according to the second embodiment of the present disclosure is not limited to this example.

[0211] As a second variant of the second embodiment of the present disclosure, the RRC protocol and NGAP may be used to transmit the TA list.

[0212] (2-1) Submitting the TA list Specifically, an RRC message including the TA list is transmitted from the UE 100 to the base station 200 of the RAN, and an NGAP message including the TA list is transmitted from the base station 200 to the network node 300.

[0213] For example, the UE 100 (communication processing unit 135) transmits an RRC message including a TA list to the base station 200. The base station 200 (first communication processing unit 243) receives the RRC message from the UE 100. The base station 200 (information acquisition unit 241) acquires the TA list from the RRC message. The base station 200 (second communication processing unit 245) transmits an NGAP message including the TA list to the network node 300.

[0214] For example, the RRC message including the TA list may be a UEInformationResponse message or a UEAssistanceInformation message.

[0215] The RRC message including the TA list may be an additionally defined RRC message for transmitting the TA list. In this case, the TA list can be transmitted to the base station 200 without changing the existing RRC message.

[0216] (2-2) Processing flow An example of processing according to the second modified example of the second embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to Fig. 15. Note that a description of processing that is substantially the same as that in Fig. 14 will be omitted.

[0217] The UE 100 transmits a message including the route information to the processing node 400 (S910). The processing node 400 transmits a message including the TA list to the UE 100 (S920).

[0218] The UE 100 transmits an RRC message including the TA list to the base station 200 (S930). For example, the UE 100 transmits a UEInformationResponse message or a UEAssistanceInformation message including the TA list to the base station 200.

[0219] The base station 200 transmits an NGAP message including the TA list to the network node 300 (S940). For example, the base station 200 transmits an NGAP message including the TA list received from the UE 100 to the network node 300.

[0220] In this way, according to the second variant of the second embodiment of the present disclosure, a TA list can be transmitted from UE 100 to network node 300 as provision information even if communication is not directly established between the UE and the network node.

[0221] (3) Third Modification: Transmitting Intermediate Information from UE to Processing Node In the above-described second embodiment of the present disclosure, the route information is transmitted from the UE 100 to the processing node 400. However, the information transmitted to the processing node 400 according to the second embodiment of the present disclosure is not limited to this example.

[0222] As a third modified example of the second embodiment of the present disclosure, intermediate information obtained by processing the route information may be transmitted from the UE 100 to the processing node 400.

[0223] Specifically, the UE 100 (control unit 133) performs a part of the TA list conversion process based on the route information. The UE 100 (information acquisition unit 131) acquires intermediate information by the part of the TA list conversion process. The UE 100 (communication processing unit 135) transmits a message including the intermediate information to the processing node 400.

[0224] Furthermore, the processing node 400 (communication processing unit 435) receives a message including the above-mentioned intermediate information from the UE 100. The processing node 400 (control unit 433) performs the remainder of the TA list conversion process based on the intermediate information. The processing node 400 (information acquisition unit 431) acquires the TA list from the remainder of the TA list conversion process. The processing node 400 (communication processing unit 435) transmits a message including the TA list to the UE 100.

[0225] For example, the intermediate information may be the output of an AI that performs part of the TA list conversion process. The AI may be part of the AI that performs the TA list conversion process. The AI may be transmitted to the UE 100 from the processing node 400 or another node.

[0226] Thus, according to the third modification of the second embodiment of the present disclosure, TA list By performing part of the conversion process in the UE 100, it is possible to reduce the computation cost or processing load of the processing node 400. In other words, it is possible to distribute the computation cost or processing load of the process between the UE 100 and the processing node 400.

[0227] <8. Third embodiment> A third embodiment of the present disclosure will be described. The above-mentioned provided information is transmitted from the UE 100 to the network node 300 via the base station 200 based on time information related to permission of transmission of the provided information. Note that the provided information and the message for transmitting the provided information are substantially the same as those in the first or second embodiment described above, and therefore detailed description thereof will be omitted.

[0228] <8-1. Example of operation> 16 to 18, examples of operations and related information of the UE 100, the base station 200, the network node 300, and the processing node 400 according to the third embodiment of the present disclosure will be described.

[0229] (1) Time information regarding the transmission of provided information The above-mentioned provided information is transmitted based on time information regarding permission for transmission of the provided information, specifically, the time information indicates a time during which transmission of the provided information is not permitted.

[0230] More specifically, the time information may indicate a transmission standby time for each piece of provided information. For example, as shown in Fig. 16, when a piece of provided information is transmitted at a time point 51, transmission of the piece of provided information is not permitted until a transmission standby time 41 indicated by the time information has elapsed. After the transmission standby time 41 has elapsed, the next piece of provided information is transmitted at a time point 52.

[0231] The time information may also indicate a transmission standby time for a plurality of pieces of provided information. The number of the plurality of pieces of provided information may be set in the network. For example, as shown in FIG. 17, the provided information is transmitted at time points 61, 62, and 63, respectively. That is, the provided information is transmitted three times. Transmission of the provided information is not permitted from time point 63 of the third transmission until the transmission standby time 42 indicated by the time information has elapsed. After the transmission standby time 42 has elapsed, the next piece of provided information is transmitted at time point 64. The number of times the provided information is transmitted may be set arbitrarily. Information indicating the number of times the provided information is transmitted may be included in the time information, or may be transmitted separately from the time information.

[0232] (2) Notification of time information The time information is notified to UE 100 from the network. Specifically, UE 100 (communication processing unit 135) receives a message including the time information from the network. UE 100 (information acquisition unit 131) acquires the time information included in the message. More specifically, UE 100 receives a NAS message including the time information from network node 300 via base station 200.

[0233] Furthermore, the network node 300 (information acquisition unit 331) acquires time information. The network node 300 (communication processing unit 335) transmits a message including the time information to the UE 100. More specifically, the network node 300 transmits a NAS message including the time information to the UE 100 via the base station 200.

[0234] Furthermore, the base station 200 (the second communication processing unit 245) receives a message including the time information from the network node 300. The base station 200 (the first communication processing unit 243) transmits the message including the time information to the UE 100. More specifically, the base station 200 transfers the NAS message including the time information from the network node 300 to the UE 100.

[0235] In this way, by utilizing NAS signaling between the UE and the network node, it is possible to transmit time information from the network node 300 to the UE 100 without changing the operation of the lower layers.

[0236] The NAS message including the time information may be a response message to a message received from the UE 100. For example, the NAS message may be a RegistrationAccept message or a ServiceAccept message. Also, the NAS message may be a message spontaneously transmitted from the network node 300. For example, the NAS message may be a ConfigurationUpdateCommand message.

[0237] This makes it possible to transmit the time information from the network node 300 to the UE 100 by utilizing the existing mechanism of NAS signaling and response between the UE and the network node. This makes it possible to prevent the addition of new signaling.

[0238] In addition, the message including the time information may be a message that is additionally defined and may be a message for transmitting the time information. In this case, the time information can be transmitted from the network to the UE 100 without changing the existing message.

[0239] Also, the time information may be requested from the network by the UE 100. Specifically, the UE 100 (communication processing unit 135) transmits a message including request information indicating a request for the time information to the network, and receives a message including the time information from the network as a response to the request information. The network node 300 (communication processing unit 335) transmits a message including the time information to the UE 100 as a response to the message including the request information received from the UE 100.

[0240] For example, the message including the request information may be a NAS message, for example, a RegistrationRequest message or a ServiceRequest message.

[0241] In this case, the time information can be notified from the network to the UE 100 depending on the necessity of the time information in the UE 100. For example, the time information can be notified depending on the presence or absence of the time information in the UE 100 or the elapsed time since the last acquisition. Therefore, the transmission of unnecessary time information is suppressed, thereby making it possible to reduce signaling.

[0242] (3) Transmission of information based on time information The UE 100 transmits the information to be provided based on the time information. Specifically, the UE 100 (communication processing unit 135) transmits a message including the information to be provided to the network based on the time information.

[0243] More specifically, UE 100 transmits a message including the information to be provided to the network according to the transmission standby time indicated by the time information. For example, referring to Fig. 16, when a transmission request A1 for information to be provided is generated, UE 100 transmits the information to be provided at time point 51 and sets a timer for transmission standby time 41. During the timer time, UE 100 does not transmit the information to be provided even if a transmission request A2 for the next information to be provided is generated. At time point 52 after the timer time has elapsed, UE 100 transmits the information to be provided for transmission request A2.

[0244] 17, when transmission requests B1, B2, and B3 for information to be provided are generated, the UE 100 transmits the information to be provided at time points 61, 62, and 63, respectively. After transmitting the information to be provided at time point 63, the UE 100 sets a timer for a transmission waiting time 42. The UE 100 does not transmit the information to be provided during the timer time even if a transmission request is generated. After the timer time has elapsed, the UE 100 transmits the information to be provided for the transmission request B4 at time point 64 in response to the generated transmission request B4.

[0245] (4) Processing flow An example of processing according to the third embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to FIG.

[0246] The UE 100 transmits a message including request information indicating a request for time information to the network (S1010). For example, the UE 100 transmits a NAS message including the request information to the network node 300 via the base station 200. Note that the process of S1010 surrounded by a dashed line may be omitted.

[0247] The network node 300 transmits a message including the time information to the UE 100 (S1020). For example, the network node 300 transmits a NAS message including the time information to the UE 100 via the base station 200. When request information is received, a NAS message including the time information is transmitted as a response to the request information. Thereafter, the UE 100 transmits information to be provided based on the received time information.

[0248] (5) Effects Here, when the provision information is transmitted for setting the TA list as in the first or second embodiment of the present disclosure, an effect of suppressing an increase in signaling related to the setting of the TA list can be achieved. Furthermore, it is considered that the effect of suppressing signaling can be improved by devising the number of times the provision information is transmitted.

[0249] According to the third embodiment of the present disclosure, a message including time information regarding permission to transmit the provided information is transmitted from the network to the UE 100. The message including the provided information is transmitted from the UE 100 to the network based on the time information. This allows the network (in other words, the system 1) to control the number of times the provided information is transmitted. Therefore, by controlling the number of times the provided information is transmitted, it is possible to suppress an increase in signaling due to the transmission of the provided information.

[0250] For example, in the first and second embodiments, the TA list is updated according to the route by transmitting the provided information, and the signaling of TAU can be reduced. However, when route changes occur frequently, there is a risk that the reduction in signaling due to the update of the TA list according to the route is offset by the increase in signaling due to the transmission of the provided information, which increases due to frequent route changes. In contrast, according to the third embodiment, even if frequent route changes occur, the increase in the transmission of the provided information can be suppressed. In other words, it is possible to avoid the reduction in signaling due to the update of the TA list according to the route being offset by the increase in signaling due to the transmission of the provided information.

[0251] Furthermore, the time information indicates a time during which the transmission of the provided information is not permitted, thereby making it possible to secure a time during which the provided information is not transmitted, thereby making it possible to reliably suppress an increase in signaling.

[0252] Moreover, the time information indicates a transmission standby time for one or more pieces of provided information. Here, the transmission of the provided information while route changes are occurring frequently is likely to be wasted. Therefore, the transmission standby time can contribute to suppressing the transmission of the provided information that may be wasted until the frequent route changes are resolved. Furthermore, the transmission standby time for the multiple pieces of provided information can suppress the transmission of the provided information related to the rest of the route changes while allowing the transmission of the provided information related to a part of the route changes. Therefore, it is possible to suppress an increase in signaling while increasing the opportunities for transmitting the provided information.

[0253] <8-2. Variations> First and second modified examples according to the third embodiment of the present disclosure will be described below. Note that two or more of these modified examples may be combined.

[0254] (1) First modified example: another example of time information In the above-described third embodiment of the present disclosure, the time information indicates a time during which transmission of the provided information is not permitted. However, the time information according to the third embodiment of the present disclosure is not limited to this example.

[0255] As a first modified example of the third embodiment of the present disclosure, the time information may indicate a time during which transmission of the provided information is permitted.

[0256] Specifically, the time information includes information indicating a time during which transmission of the provided information is permitted, and information indicating the number of times the provided information is transmitted during the time. For example, as shown in FIG. 19, the provided information is transmitted within a time 43 as a permitted transmission time indicated by the time information. During the time 43, the provided information is transmitted at time points 71, 72, and 73 in response to transmission requests C1, C2, and C3, respectively. However, since the number of times the provided information is transmitted during the time 43 has reached an upper limit (e.g., three times), the provided information is not transmitted during the time 43 in response to the transmission request C4. The provided information in response to the transmission request C4 is transmitted during the next permitted transmission time. Note that the information indicating the number of times the provided information is transmitted may be transmitted separately from the time information. Furthermore, the number of times the provided information is transmitted may not be set, and the information indicating the number of times the provided information is transmitted may not be transmitted.

[0257] In this way, according to the first modification of the third embodiment of the present disclosure, the time information indicates the time during which the transmission of the provided information is permitted. This makes it possible to control the time during which the provided information is transmitted. Therefore, it is possible to suppress an increase in signaling while ensuring an opportunity to transmit the provided information.

[0258] The time information also includes frequency information indicating the number of times the provided information is transmitted during the time period during which the transmission of the provided information is permitted. This makes it possible to control the number of times the provided information is transmitted per given time period. Thus, by controlling the number of times the information is transmitted, it is possible to more precisely suppress signaling.

[0259] (2) Second variant: Time information is reported by RRC and NGAP In the above-described third embodiment of the present disclosure, the time information is notified using a NAS message. However, the message used for notifying the time information according to the third embodiment of the present disclosure is not limited to this example.

[0260] As a second modified example of the third embodiment of the present disclosure, the time information may be notified using an RRC message and an NGAP message.

[0261] Specifically, the UE 100 (communication processing unit 135) receives an RRC message including time information from the base station 200. The base station 200 (second communication processing unit 245) receives an NGAP message including the time information from the network node 300. The base station 200 (first communication processing unit 243) transmits the RRC message including the time information to the UE 100. The network node 300 (communication processing unit 335) transmits the NGAP message including the time information to the base station 200.

[0262] For example, the RRC message including the above time information may be an RRCReconfiguration message, an RRCSetup message, an RRCReestablishment message, or an RRCResume message.

[0263] This makes it possible to transmit the time information from the network node 300 to the UE 100 via the base station 200 by utilizing the existing RAN signaling between the UE and the base station. This makes it possible to prevent the addition of new signaling.

[0264] In addition, the RRC message including the time information may be an additionally defined RRC message for transmitting the time information. In this case, the time information can be transmitted from the base station 200 to the UE 100 without changing the existing RRC message.

[0265] Furthermore, the request information indicating a request for time information described in the third embodiment may also be transmitted using an RRC message and an NGAP message. Specifically, the UE 100 (communication processing unit 135) transmits an RRC message including the request information to the base station 200. The base station 200 (first communication processing unit 243) receives the RRC message including the request information. The base station 200 (second communication processing unit 245) transmits an NGAP message including the request information to the network node 300. The network node 300 (communication processing unit 335) receives the NGAP message including the request information from the base station 200.

[0266] For example, the RRC message including the above request information may be an RRCSetupRequest message, an RRCReestablishmentRequest message, or an RRCResumeRequest message.

[0267] In this manner, according to the second modification of the third embodiment of the present disclosure, time information can be transmitted from the network node 300 to the UE 100 even if communication is not directly established between the UE and the network node.

[0268] Although the embodiment of the present disclosure has been described above, the present disclosure is not limited to the embodiment. It will be understood by those skilled in the art that the embodiment is merely an example, and that various modifications are possible without departing from the scope and spirit of the present disclosure.
