Description

[Technical field]

[0001] (CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS) This disclosure is based on and claims priority to Chinese Patent Application No. 202020637729.0, filed on April 24, 2020, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.

[0002] The present disclosure relates to the field of batteries, and in particular to a battery pack case, a battery pack, and an electric vehicle. [Background technology]

[0003] A conventional battery pack case generally comprises a tray and an upper cover, and the tray is generally welded to a bottom plate with a number of side beams. In addition, the tray, as a main load-bearing member of the battery pack, generally has a number of horizontal and vertical beams welded therein during manufacture to ensure that it has sufficient strength. However, such a design has many components in the battery pack case, a complex structure, low space utilization, and high manufacturing costs because each component needs to be connected by a process such as welding. In addition, since the battery pack case has a large number of welded parts, if a weld defect occurs at a welded part, it increases the possibility of a poor sealing of the battery pack, which further affects the service life of the battery pack. Summary of the Invention

[0032] 1 to 3, a battery pack case 200 according to the present disclosure includes a case body 10 and at least one structural beam 20 located within the case body 10 and dividing the interior of the case body 10 into a plurality of housing cavities 30, the case body 10 includes a top plate 101 and a bottom plate 102 that are installed facing each other along a first direction that is the height direction of the battery pack case 200, the structural beam 20 is located between the top plate 101 and the bottom plate 102, and the at least one structural beam 20 is joined to the top plate 101 and the bottom plate 102, and a mounting portion 40 that is fixedly connected to an external support member is installed on the battery pack case 200. The first direction is the Z direction in the drawings.

[0033] In the battery pack case 200 of the present disclosure, the structural beam 20 is located between the top plate 101 and the bottom plate 102 and is joined to the top plate 101 and the bottom plate 102. By installing in this manner, the structural beam 20, the top plate 101, and the bottom plate 102 form a structure shaped like an "U". This structure has high strength and rigidity, and can meet the performance requirements of the battery pack case 200, such as load resistance, impact resistance, and pressure resistance. The battery pack case 200 of the present disclosure has a simple structure, low manufacturing cost, and high space utilization rate. The structural beam 20 divides the case body 10 into a plurality of housing cavities 30. When a cell assembly or a single battery in one housing cavity 30 thermally runs away, the other housing cavities 30 are not affected, and thus the safety of the operation of the battery pack 100 can be improved. Furthermore, when such a battery pack 100 is attached to a vehicle, the structural strength of the battery pack 100 becomes part of the vehicle structural strength, thereby improving the structural strength of the vehicle, helping to achieve the design requirement for reducing the overall weight of an electric vehicle, and reducing the design and manufacturing costs of the vehicle.

In some embodiments of the present disclosure, the length of the receiving cavity 30 along the second direction is 500mm to 2500mm. The second direction is different from the first direction, and the second direction is the Y direction in the figure. Due to the dimension design of the receiving cavity 30, the battery pack 100 can meet the requirements of large capacity and high space utilization rate.

[0038] In some embodiments of the present disclosure, the length of the receiving cavity 30 along the second direction is between 1000 mm and 2000 mm.

However, the mounting holes 401 may be disposed such that their axial directions form an included angle of, for example, 5° or 10° with the first direction.

[0057] In some embodiments of the present disclosure, a plurality of mounting holes 401 are provided, and the mounting holes 401 provided in the first frame 103 are arranged in sequence along the length direction of the first frame 103. Here, the length direction of the first frame 103 is parallel to the second direction.

[0058] Similarly, the mounting holes 401 provided in the second frame 104 are arranged in sequence along the length direction of the second frame 104. Here, the length direction of the second frame 104 is parallel to the second direction.

[0059] Of course, in another embodiment, the mounting portion 40 is an eyebolt attached to the first frame 103 and the second frame 104. The eyebolt is fixedly connected to the external support member so as to fixedly connect the battery pack 100 to the external support member.

[0062] In some embodiments of the present disclosure, the first frame body 1031 and the second frame body 1032 are perpendicular to each other and form an L-shaped structure. This arrangement helps to improve the structural strength of the first frame 103. The third frame body 1041 and the fourth frame body 1042 are perpendicular to each other and form an L-shaped structure. This arrangement helps to improve the structural strength of the second frame 104. However, the first frame body 1031 and the second frame body 1032, and the third frame body 1041 and the fourth frame body 1042 may be arranged at an included angle of, for example, 70° or 80°.

That is, the sealing plate realizes semi-closure of the second opening of the accommodating cavity 30. In this way, when an electrode assembly group sealed with a sealing film is accommodated in the accommodating cavity 30, it is possible to prevent the electrolyte from flowing from one accommodating cavity 30 to another accommodating cavity 30 due to unexpected rupture of the sealing film, thereby preventing an internal short circuit, and further improving the safety of the use of the battery pack 100.

[0071] The semi-closure of the second opening of the storage cavity 30 located at both ends among the multiple storage cavities 30 may be achieved by connecting a sealing plate to the first frame 103, the bottom plate 102 and the structural beam 20, or by connecting a sealing plate to the second frame 104, the bottom plate 102 and the structural beam 20, thereby closing the portion of the second opening of the storage cavity 30 adjacent to the bottom plate 102.

[0072] The semi-closure of the second opening of the remaining storage cavity 30 among the multiple storage cavities 30 may be achieved by connecting a sealing plate to the bottom plate 102 and two adjacent structural beams 20 to close the portion of the second opening of the storage cavity 30 adjacent to the bottom plate 102.

[0073] In one embodiment, as shown in the figure, the battery pack case 200 further includes a sealing plate, and a second opening is provided at an end of the accommodating cavity 30 along the second direction, and the sealing plate is located inside the end plate 112 and connected to the structural beam 20 and the case body 10 to completely close the second opening of the accommodating cavity 30. That is, the complete closing of the second opening of the accommodating cavity 30 by the sealing plate further improves the safety of use of the battery pack 100.

[0074] The complete blocking of the second openings of the storage cavities 30 located at both ends among the multiple storage cavities 30 may be achieved by connecting a sealing plate to the first frame 103, the structural beam 20, the top plate 101 and the bottom plate 102, or by connecting a sealing plate to the second frame 104, the structural beam 20, the top plate 101 and the bottom plate 102, thereby completely blocking the second openings of the storage cavities 30.

[0075] The complete blocking of the second opening of the remaining storage cavities 30 among the multiple storage cavities 30 may be achieved by connecting a sealing plate to the bottom plate 102, the top plate 101 and two adjacent structural beams 20, thereby completely blocking the second opening of the storage cavity 30.

[0076] In one embodiment, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, at least one structural beam 20 has an end along the second direction formed with a recess 201 recessed away from the end plate 112 .

[0077] The structural design of the recess 201 can accommodate an insulating protective frame, an electrical connection sheet, etc., and using such a structural design helps to reduce the size of the battery pack case 200 without increasing the length of the battery pack case 200 along the second direction.

[0078] In some embodiments of the present disclosure, a recess 201 is formed on both ends of each structural beam 20 along the second direction, and the recess 201 located adjacent to the third frame 107 is spaced away from the third frame 107, and the recess 201 located adjacent to the fourth frame 108 is spaced away from the fourth frame 108.

[0079] 2 to 4, a heat dissipation passage 202 extending along a second direction is provided in at least one structural beam 20, and the second direction is the width direction or the length direction of the battery pack case 200. In this way, heat generated in the cell assembly or the single battery accommodated in the accommodation cavity 30 can enter the heat dissipation passage 202 and then be transferred to the outside of the battery pack case 200 through the top plate 101 and the bottom plate 102. Compared with the structural beam 20 using a solid structural design, such a structural design of the present disclosure increases the heat dissipation space in the battery pack case 200, which helps to improve the effect of cooling and heat dissipation.

[0080] In one embodiment, as shown in Figures 2 to 4, each structural beam 20 includes a first side panel 203 and a second side panel 204 spaced apart along a third direction, and a heat dissipation passage 202 is surrounded by the first side panel 203, the second side panel 204, the top panel 101 and the bottom panel 102, and the second direction is the width direction of the battery pack case 200 and the third direction is the length direction of the battery pack case 200, or the second direction is the length direction of the battery pack case 200 and the third direction is the width direction of the battery pack case 200.

[0081] That is, the space surrounded by first side plate 203, second side plate 204, top plate 101, and bottom plate 102 is heat dissipation passage 202. In this way, heat dissipation passage 202 can be formed by the structure of case body 10 and structural beam 20 themselves, and there is no need to add a heat dissipation pipe, which helps to simplify the structural design of battery pack 100 and reduce manufacturing costs.

[0082] 2 to 4, the structural beam 20 further includes a partition plate 205 connected to the first side plate 203 and the second side plate 204, which divides the heat dissipation passage 202 into a plurality of sub-passages. This arrangement allows the battery pack case 200 to have a high cooling and heat dissipation effect, and ensures that the structural beam 20 has a certain strength, which helps to improve the overall strength of the battery pack 100.

[0083] 1 and 2 , an adhesive injection hole 109 is provided in the battery pack case 200, and each of the receiving cavities 30 communicates with at least one adhesive injection hole 109. As can be understood, the adhesive injection hole 109 allows a structural adhesive to be injected into the battery pack case 200 to fixedly connect the cell assemblies or cells received in the receiving cavities 30 to the battery pack case 200, thereby improving the structural strength of the battery pack 100.

[0084] In one embodiment, the battery pack case 200 is a sealed case, and the air pressure in the receiving cavity 30 is lower than the air pressure outside the battery pack case 200. By installing in this manner, the air pressure in the receiving cavity 30 can be made lower than the air pressure outside the battery pack case 200 by a vacuum exhaust operation, thus reducing the amount of substances such as water vapor in the battery pack case 200, and preventing the deterioration and damage of components such as cell assemblies and batteries in the battery pack case 200 due to the long-term action of water vapor, thereby extending the service life of the battery pack 100. In addition, the sealed case can achieve the effect of double sealing.

[0085] In one embodiment, the pressure in the receiving cavity 30 is -40Kpa to -70KPa. This arrangement reduces the amount of substances such as water vapor and oxygen in the battery pack case 200, and prevents the cell assemblies and each component in the battery pack case 200 from deteriorating over a long period of time due to water vapor and oxygen, which helps to extend the service life of the cell assemblies or each component inside the battery pack case 200.

[0086] 1 and 2, an exhaust hole 110 is provided in the battery pack case 200. The exhaust hole 110 allows the inside of the battery pack case 200 to be evacuated to a vacuum, thereby reducing the amount of substances such as water vapor in the battery pack case 200 and preventing deterioration and damage of components such as cell assemblies and batteries in the battery pack case 200 due to the long-term action of water vapor, thereby extending the service life of the battery pack 100.

[0087] 1 and 2, a battery pack case 200 is provided with a plurality of exhaust holes 110 that correspond to and communicate with a plurality of housing cavities 30. Such an arrangement improves the efficiency of the evacuation operation and helps reduce manufacturing costs.

[0088] 1 and 2, in one embodiment, the multiple accommodating cavities 30 communicate with each other, and the battery pack case 200 is provided with at least one exhaust hole 110 that communicates with the accommodating cavities 30. In this manner, the multiple accommodating cavities 30 can be simultaneously evacuated to a vacuum by the exhaust hole 110.

[0089] The communication method of the accommodating cavities 30 is not specifically limited, and for example, the accommodating cavities 30 may be communicated by the first openings 113 at the ends. Alternatively, a through hole may be provided in the structural beam 20 to communicate two adjacent accommodating cavities 30.

[0090] 1, the adhesive injection hole 109 or the exhaust hole 110, or the adhesive injection hole 109 and the exhaust hole 110 are provided on the top plate 101. However, in other embodiments, the adhesive injection hole 109 or the exhaust hole 110, or the adhesive injection hole 109 and the exhaust hole 110 may be provided on the bottom plate 102, the first frame 103, or the second frame 104.

[0091] Furthermore, the method of sealing the exhaust hole 110 is not specifically limited. For example, the exhaust hole 110 can be sealed by a sealing part or by filling it with an adhesive.

[0092] The adhesive injection hole 109 and the exhaust hole 110 may be the same hole or different holes. If they are the same hole, the adhesive may be injected before evacuating.

[0093] A battery pack 100 according to another embodiment of the present disclosure includes the above-described battery pack case 200. The battery pack 100 according to the present disclosure has high structural strength and rigidity, high space utilization rate, and high safety in use.

[0094] An electric vehicle 300 according to a further embodiment of the present disclosure includes a vehicle body and a battery pack 100 fixed to the vehicle body by a mounting portion 40.

[0095] In the electric vehicle 300 (see FIG. 5) according to the present disclosure, when the battery pack 100 having the above-mentioned high strength is attached to the vehicle, the structural strength of the battery pack 100 becomes part of the structural strength of the vehicle, thereby improving the structural strength of the vehicle, helping to achieve the design requirement for reducing the weight of the entire electric vehicle, and reducing the design and manufacturing costs of the vehicle.
