DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0012] The present invention will be described below through embodiments of the invention, but the following embodiments do not limit the scope of the invention according to the claims. Furthermore, not all of the combinations of features described in the embodiments are necessarily essential to the solution of the invention.

[0013] Fig. 1 illustrates an example of a communication system 10. The communication system 10 may include a radio base station 100. The communication system 10 may include a plurality of vehicles 200. Fig. 1 illustrates vehicles 202 and 206, and vehicles 204 and 208 located on a road 30 as examples of the plurality of vehicles 200. The communication system 10 may include a plurality of wireless communication terminals 300. Fig. 1 illustrates wireless communication terminals 302, 304, 306, and 308 as examples of the plurality of wireless communication terminals 300.

[0014] The vehicle 200 is present in the cell 102 of the radio base station 100, and has a relay function of relaying communication between the radio base station 100 and the radio communication terminal 300. The cell 102 indicates an area in which radio communication with the radio base station 100 is possible. The vehicle 200 being present in the cell 102 of the radio base station 100 may mean that the vehicle 200 is located in the cell 102 of the radio base station 100 and establishes a radio communication connection with the radio base station 100. Note that the presence of the vehicle 200 in the cell 102 of the radio base station 100 may be described as the vehicle 200 being present in the radio base station 100. The cell 102 may be an example of a radio communication area. The vehicle 200 may be an example of a mobile relay device.

[0015] Vehicle 200 may be served by other vehicles. For example, in the example shown in FIG. 1, vehicle 204 located within cell 203 of vehicle 202 can be served by vehicle 202. Vehicle 208 located within cell 207 of vehicle 206 can be served by vehicle 206.

[0016] The vehicle 200 may be an automobile. The vehicle 200 may be any type of automobile as long as it has a wireless communication function. The vehicle 200 may be, for example, a gasoline-powered automobile, or may be a so-called eco-car. Types of eco-cars include HVs (Hybrid Vehicles), PHEVs / PHVs (Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles), EVs (Electric Vehicles), and FCVs (Fuel Cell Vehicles). The vehicle 200 may be an automobile for any purpose. The vehicle 200 may be, for example, a privately owned automobile, or may be a business vehicle such as a shared car (including a case where a privately owned automobile is used), a rental car, a taxi, a bus, or a mobile sales vehicle.

[0017] The radio base station 100 may be compliant with any mobile communication method. The radio base station 100 is compliant with, for example, the 3G (3rd Generation) communication method. The radio base station 100 is compliant with, for example, the LTE (Long Term Evolution) communication method. The radio base station 100 may be an eNB (eNodeB). Also, the radio base station 100 is compliant with, for example, the 5G (5th Generation) communication method. The radio base station 100 may be a gNB (gNodeB). Also, the radio base station 100 is compliant with, for example, the 6G (6th Generation) communication method. The radio base station 100 may be compliant with a mobile communication method after the 7G (7th Generation) communication method. Here, a case where the radio base station 100 is compliant with the LTE communication method will be mainly described as an example.

[0018] The wireless base station 100 is connected to a network 20. The network 20 includes a mobile communication network. The network 20 may include the Internet.

[0019] The wireless communication terminal 300 may be any type of communication terminal having a wireless communication function. For example, the wireless communication terminal 300 may be a mobile phone such as a smartphone, a tablet terminal, a wearable terminal, a PC (Personal Computer), etc. The wireless communication terminal 300 may also be a so-called IoT (Internet of Things) device.

[0020] Vehicle 200 forms, for example, a cell and performs wireless communication with wireless communication terminal 300 present in the cell. The cell formed by vehicle 200 may be smaller than cell 102 formed by wireless base station 100. The wireless communication terminal 300 being present in the cell of vehicle 200 may mean that wireless communication terminal 300 is located in the cell and has established wireless communication connection with vehicle 200. Note that the wireless communication terminal 300 being present in the cell of vehicle 200 may be described as wireless communication terminal 300 being present in vehicle 200.

[0021] The communication method for wireless communication between the vehicle 200 and the wireless communication terminal 300 may be a mobile communication method. The vehicle 200 may be called a mobile base station. The mobile communication method between the vehicle 200 and the wireless communication terminal 300 may be the same as the mobile communication method between the vehicle 200 and the wireless base station 100. In addition, the mobile communication method between the vehicle 200 and the wireless communication terminal 300 may be different from the mobile communication method between the vehicle 200 and the wireless base station 100.

[0022] The radio frequency band that the vehicle 200 uses for wireless communication with the wireless communication terminal 300 may be a higher frequency band than the radio frequency band that the wireless base station 100 uses for wireless communication with the wireless communication terminal 300. For example, the vehicle 200 may wirelessly communicate with the wireless communication terminal 300 according to the 5G communication method, and the wireless base station 100 may wirelessly communicate with the wireless communication terminal 300 according to the LTE communication method.

[0023] The radio frequency band that the vehicle 200 uses for wireless communication with the wireless communication terminal 300 may be a lower frequency band than the radio frequency band that the wireless base station 100 uses for wireless communication with the wireless communication terminal 300. For example, the vehicle 200 may wirelessly communicate with the wireless communication terminal 300 according to the LTE communication method, and the wireless base station 100 may wirelessly communicate with the wireless communication terminal 300 according to the 5G communication method.

[0024] The communication method for wireless communication between the vehicle 200 and the wireless communication terminal 300 may be WiFi (registered trademark) (Wireless Fidelity) communication method. The vehicle 200 may be called a mobile access point.

[0025] Since a mobile relay device such as the vehicle 200 moves, the communication environment is not stable. Conventionally, when the vehicle 200 is in the range of the wireless base station 100 and the wireless communication terminal 300 is in the range of the vehicle 200, the wireless communication terminal 300 can only know the communication status with the vehicle 200 that is directly connected. As a result, even if the radio wave reception strength is maximum on the display of the wireless communication terminal 300, the communication sensitivity between the vehicle 200 ahead and the wireless base station 100 may be extremely low. And, the situation is not displayed to the user of the wireless communication terminal 300, so the user cannot know it. Even if the radio wave reception strength displayed on the wireless communication terminal 300 is medium for another vehicle 200, the vehicle 200 may be the best in consideration of the communication status between the vehicle 200 ahead and the wireless communication terminal 300.

[0026] The radio base station 100 according to this embodiment acquires quality information on the quality of wireless communication between the radio base station 100 and the vehicle 200, and transmits the quality information to the wireless communication terminal 300. For example, the radio base station 100 receives the radio wave reception strength from the radio base station 100 of the vehicle 200 from the vehicle 200, and transmits the radio communication terminal 300. This allows the user of the wireless communication terminal 300 to know the communication situation beyond the vehicle 200 to which the wireless communication terminal 300 is directly connected, and makes it possible to provide the user with information on the vehicle 200 that should really be selected.

[0027] Figure 2 shows an example of radio wave reception strength in the situation shown in Figure 1. In Figure 2, the arrows represent radio wave reception strength, with a thicker arrow indicating a stronger radio wave reception strength.

[0028] 1 and 2, the vehicle 202 has a strong radio wave reception strength from the radio base station 100 because the visibility between the vehicle 202 and the radio base station 100 is good. The vehicle 204 has a weaker radio wave reception strength from the radio base station 100 because of the presence of the mountain 40. Because the vehicle 204 has a strong radio wave reception strength from the vehicle 202, the vehicle 204 may achieve higher communication quality by connecting to the radio base station 100 via the vehicle 200 rather than directly connecting to the radio base station 100. The vehicle 206 has a very weak radio wave reception strength from the radio base station 100 and the vehicle 208 has a very weak radio wave reception strength from the radio base station 100 because of the presence of the mountain 42.

[0029] The wireless base station 100 broadcasts these radio wave reception strengths to, for example, the wireless communication terminals 300 that are within the range of the wireless base station 100. The wireless communication terminals 300, for example, extract only the radio wave reception strengths related to themselves from the received radio wave reception strengths and present them to the user. For example, the wireless communication terminals 302 extract the radio wave reception strength from the wireless base station 100 of the vehicle 202, the radio wave reception strength from the wireless base station 100 of the vehicle 204, and the radio wave reception strength from the vehicle 202 of the vehicle 204, which are related to the vehicles 202 and 204 that are receiving radio waves, and present them to the user.

[0030] The wireless base station 100 may transmit position information of the vehicle 200 to the wireless communication terminal 300 in addition to the radio wave reception strength. The wireless communication terminal 300 may present the position information of the vehicle 200 to the user in addition to the radio wave reception strength. For example, the wireless communication terminal 309 presents the position information of each of the vehicles 202, 204, 206, and 208 and the radio wave reception strength shown in Fig. 2 to the user. The user of the wireless communication terminal 309 can know that, for example, moving in the direction of the vehicle 202 is more likely to enable communication in a better communication environment than moving in the direction of the vehicle 206.

[0031] FIG. 3 shows the radio wave conditions of two communication paths from the wireless communication terminal 302 to the wireless base station 100. The wireless communication terminal 300 can be in the range of both the vehicle 202 and the vehicle 204, but the radio wave reception strength from the vehicle 202 is weaker than the radio wave reception strength from the vehicle 204. According to the display of the conventional wireless communication terminal 300, the radio wave reception strength from the vehicle 202 and the radio wave reception strength from the vehicle 204 can be grasped, but the radio wave reception strength from the wireless base station 100 of the vehicle 202 and the radio wave reception strength from the wireless base station 100 of the vehicle 204 are not displayed. Therefore, the user of the wireless communication terminal 302 tends to select the vehicle 204 with a stronger radio wave reception strength as the connection destination. As a result, even if the displayed radio wave reception strength is high, a situation occurs in which the communication situation is poor, and the user's experience is degraded.

[0032] In contrast, according to the radio base station 100 of this embodiment, the radio communication terminal 300 is notified of the radio wave reception strength from the radio base station 100 of the vehicle 202 and the radio wave reception strength from the radio base station 100 of the vehicle 204. This allows the user to know the reason, for example, when the communication situation of the radio communication terminal 300 present in the vehicle 204 is poor. Also, the user can be made to select a connection destination taking into consideration not only the radio wave reception strength from the vehicle 200 but also the radio wave reception strength from the radio base station 100 of the vehicle 200.

[0033] Fig. 4 shows an example of a processing flow by the communication system 10 in the situation shown in Fig. 1. Here, a processing flow will be described for a case where the vehicle 202, the vehicle 204, the vehicle 206, and the vehicle 208 are within the range of the wireless base station 100, and the wireless base station 100 acts as a starting point to broadcast the radio wave reception strength of each vehicle to the wireless communication terminal 300 within the range of the wireless base station 100.

[0034] In step (sometimes abbreviated as S) 102, the wireless base station 100 transmits to the vehicles 202, 204, 206, and 208 instructions to report the radio wave reception strength.

[0035] In S104, the vehicle 202 transmits the radio wave reception strength from the radio base station 100 to the radio base station 100 in response to the report instruction. In S106, the vehicle 204 transmits the radio wave reception strength from the radio base station 100 to the radio base station 100 in response to the report instruction. In S108, the vehicle 206 transmits the radio wave reception strength from the radio base station 100 to the radio base station 100 in response to the report instruction. In S110, the vehicle 208 transmits the radio wave reception strength from the radio base station 100 to the radio base station 100 in response to the report instruction.

[0036] In S112, the wireless base station 100 broadcasts quality information including the radio wave reception strength received in S104, S106, S108, and S110 to the wireless communication terminals 302, 304, 306, 308, and 309 that are within the range of the wireless base station 100.

[0037] 4 has been described as a flow in which the radio base station 100 acts as a starting point to collect various radio wave reception strengths and notify the radio communication terminal 300 of the same, but the flow is not limited to this. In response to receiving from the radio communication terminal 300 a measurement report (sometimes called a Measurement Report) that reports the state of radio waves received by the radio communication terminal 300, the radio base station 100 may collect the radio wave reception strength from the vehicle 200, which is included in the measurement report, and notify the radio communication terminal 300 of the same.

[0038] Fig. 5 shows an example of a processing flow by the communication system 10 in the situation shown in Fig. 1. In S202, the wireless communication terminal 302 transmits a measurement report to the wireless base station 100. The wireless communication terminal 302 is located in the cell 203 of the vehicle 202 and the cell 205 of the vehicle 204, and the measurement report includes the radio wave reception strength from the vehicle 202 and the identification information of the vehicle 202, and the radio wave reception strength from the vehicle 204 and the identification information of the vehicle 204.

[0039] In S204, the wireless base station 100 identifies the vehicles 202 and 204 by the identification information included in the measurement report, and transmits an instruction to report the radio wave reception strength to the vehicles 202 and 204. In S206, the vehicle 202 transmits the radio wave reception strength from the wireless base station 100 to the wireless base station 100 in response to the report instruction. In S208, the vehicle 204 transmits the radio wave reception strength from the wireless base station 100 to the wireless base station 100 in response to the report instruction.

[0040] In S210, the wireless base station 100 transmits to the wireless communication terminal 302 quality information including the radio wave reception strength received in S206 and the radio wave reception strength received in S208.

[0041] 6 illustrates an example of a functional configuration of the radio base station 100. The radio base station 100 includes a receiving unit 110, an acquiring unit 120, a transmitting unit 130, a DC (Dual Connectivity) control unit 142, and a HO (Hand Over) control unit 144.

[0042] The receiving unit 110 receives various information. The receiving unit 110 receives, for example, quality information. The receiving unit 110 may receive the quality information from a mobile relay device. The receiving unit 110 receives, for example, quality information from the vehicle 200. The quality information includes, for example, radio wave reception strength from the radio base station 100 of the vehicle 200. The quality information may include noise information in the wireless communication between the vehicle 200 and the wireless base station 100. The quality information may include communication speed information indicating the communication speed of the wireless communication between the vehicle 200 and the wireless base station 100.

[0043] The receiving unit 110 also receives, for example, a measurement report. The receiving unit 110 may receive the measurement report from the wireless communication terminal 300.

[0044] The receiving unit 110 also receives, for example, device information related to a mobile relay device. The receiving unit 110 may receive the device information from a mobile relay device. The receiving unit 110 receives the device information from a vehicle 200, for example.

[0045] The device information may include location information of the mobile relay device, and may also include movement-related information related to the movement of the mobile relay device.

[0046] The movement-related information includes, for example, movement speed information related to the movement speed of the mobile relay device. The movement speed information may indicate the movement speed of the mobile relay device at any timing. Furthermore, the movement speed information may indicate the average speed of the movement speed of the mobile relay device in a predetermined period of time.

[0047] Furthermore, the movement-related information includes, for example, movement direction information related to the movement direction of the mobile relay device. The movement direction information may indicate the movement direction of the mobile relay device at any timing. Furthermore, the movement direction information may indicate a route along which the mobile relay device is scheduled to move. For example, if the mobile relay device is a vehicle 200, the movement direction information may be route information set in the vehicle 200 and indicating a route to a destination of the vehicle 200.

[0048] The acquiring unit 120 acquires various types of information. For example, the acquiring unit 120 acquires quality information received by the receiving unit 110. Also, the acquiring unit 120 acquires a measurement report received by the receiving unit 110. Also, the acquiring unit 120 acquires device information received by the receiving unit 110, for example.

[0049] The transmitting unit 130 transmits various information. For example, the transmitting unit 130 transmits quality information acquired by the acquiring unit 120 to the wireless communication terminal 300. Also, the transmitting unit 130 transmits device information acquired by the acquiring unit 120 to the wireless communication terminal 300. The transmitting unit 130 may transmit the quality information and device information together to the wireless communication terminal 300. For example, the transmitting unit 130 transmits quality information and location information to the wireless communication terminal 300. Also, the transmitting unit 130 transmits quality information and movement-related information to the wireless communication terminal 300.

[0050] The acquisition unit 120, for example, in accordance with an instruction from an administrator of the radio base station 100 or the like, causes the transmission unit 130 to transmit a report instruction for quality information to the vehicle 200 within the range of the radio base station 100. The acquisition unit 120 also causes the transmission unit 130 to transmit a report instruction for quality information to the vehicle 200 within the range of the radio base station 100, for example, in accordance with a predetermined schedule. The acquisition unit 120 acquires, from the reception unit 110, the quality information transmitted by the vehicle 200 in response to the report instruction. Then, the acquisition unit 120 causes the transmission unit 130 to broadcast the acquired quality information to the radio communication terminals 300 within the range of the radio base station 100.

[0051] Furthermore, for example, when the receiving unit 110 receives a measurement report, the acquiring unit 120 causes the transmitting unit 130 to transmit a report instruction for quality information to the vehicle 200 identified by the identification information included in the measurement report. The acquiring unit 120 acquires the quality information transmitted by the vehicle 200 in response to the report instruction from the receiving unit 110. Then, the acquiring unit 120 causes the transmitting unit 130 to transmit the acquired quality information to the wireless communication terminal 300 that transmitted the measurement report.

[0052] The DC control unit 142 controls the vehicle 200 as a secondary cell to provide DC to the radio communication terminal 300. The radio base station 100 can function as a primary cell, and the vehicle 200 can function as a secondary cell.

[0053] When the radio base station 100 and the vehicle 200 are compliant with the LTE communication method, the radio base station 100 may be called MeNB (Master eNB) and the vehicle 200 may be called SeNB (Secondary eNB). When the radio base station 100 and the vehicle 200 are compliant with the 5G communication method, the radio base station 100 may be called MgNB (Master gNB) and the vehicle 200 may be called SgNB (Secondary gNB). When the radio base station 100 is compliant with the LTE communication method and the vehicle 200 is compliant with the 5G communication method, the radio base station 100 may be called MeNB and the vehicle 200 may be called SgNB. When the radio base station 100 is compliant with the 5G communication method and the vehicle 200 is compliant with the LTE communication method, the radio base station 100 may be called MgNB and the vehicle 200 may be called SeNB.

[0054] The DC control unit 142 may have a function of selecting an appropriate vehicle 200 as a secondary cell when providing DC to the wireless communication terminal 300 from the multiple vehicles 200 when multiple vehicles 200 are located around the wireless communication terminal 300. The DC control unit 142 may select a vehicle 200 having a higher wireless communication quality with the wireless base station 100 than other vehicles 200 as a secondary cell. The wireless base station 100 selects, for example, a vehicle 200 having the highest radio wave reception strength from the wireless base station 100 as a secondary cell.

[0055] The DC control unit 142 may select the vehicle 200 in response to a request from the wireless communication terminal 300. For example, a user of the wireless communication terminal 300 who refers to the radio wave reception strength presented by the wireless communication terminal 300 selects the vehicle 200 in consideration of the radio wave reception strength from the wireless base station 100 of the vehicle 200 and the radio wave reception strength from the vehicle 200 of the wireless communication terminal 300, and the wireless communication terminal 300 transmits a request to the wireless base station 100 specifying the selected vehicle 200 as a secondary cell. The DC control unit 142 selects the specified vehicle 200 as a secondary cell in accordance with the request.

[0056] In the conventional DC concept, it is assumed that both the primary cell and the secondary cell are fixed base stations, and the combination of the primary cell and the secondary cell is determined in advance. In contrast, as exemplified in this embodiment, when a vehicle 200 located in the range of the radio base station 100 that is the primary cell is used as a secondary cell, the communication quality of the radio communication between the radio base station 100 and the vehicle 200 may change as the vehicle 200 moves.

[0057] For example, when the vehicle 200 with the strongest radio wave reception strength from the vehicle 200 of the wireless communication terminal 300 is selected as the secondary cell, and the radio wave reception strength from the wireless base station 100 of the vehicle 200 is weak, the communication speed between the wireless communication terminal 300 and the vehicle 200 may be high, but the communication speed between the vehicle 200 and the wireless base station 100 will be low. This will slow down the data communication speed by the wireless communication terminal 300, and the quality of experience of the user of the wireless communication terminal 300 will be reduced. In particular, the existing wireless communication terminal 300 displays the radio wave reception strength from the vehicle 200 but does not display the radio wave reception strength from the wireless base station 100 of the vehicle 200, so that the displayed radio wave reception strength is strong but the data communication speed is slow, and the quality of experience of the user of the wireless communication terminal 300 may be lower. In contrast, according to the radio base station 100 of this embodiment, the radio wave reception strength from the radio base station 100 of the vehicle 200 is notified to the radio communication terminal 300, and the vehicle 200 having a higher radio wave reception strength from the radio base station 100 than the other vehicles 200 is selected as the secondary cell, thereby preventing the occurrence of such a situation.

[0058] The DC control unit 142 controls the selected vehicle 200 as a secondary cell to provide a DC to the radio communication terminal 300. The DC control unit 142 registers the selected vehicle 200 as a secondary cell.

[0059] The DC control unit 142 transmits a DC setting request to the vehicle 200. The DC control unit 142 receives a response signal to the DC setting request transmitted by the vehicle 200. The response signal includes radio parameter information of the cell of the vehicle 200 and the like. In response to receiving the response signal from the vehicle 200, the DC control unit 142 transmits a radio resource setting signal to the wireless communication terminal 300. The DC control unit 142 receives a completion notification corresponding to the setting signal transmitted by the vehicle 200. In response to receiving the completion notification, the DC control unit 142 transmits a completion notification to the vehicle 200. After transmitting the completion notification, the DC control unit 142 distributes data for the wireless communication terminal 300 received from the SGW to the vehicle 200.

[0060] The HO control unit 144 controls handover of the wireless communication terminal 300. When another vehicle 200 is located in the vicinity of the wireless communication terminal 300 that is in the range of the vehicle 200, the HO control unit 144 selects a handover destination of the wireless communication terminal 300 from the other vehicle 200. For example, the HO control unit 144 selects, as the handover destination of the wireless communication terminal 300, a vehicle 200 having a stronger radio wave reception strength from the wireless base station 100 from among a plurality of vehicles 200 whose identification information is included in the measurement report by the wireless communication terminal 300.

[0061] The HO control unit 144 controls so that the handover destination of the wireless communication terminal 300 becomes the selected vehicle 200. For example, the HO control unit 144 controls so that the handover destination of the wireless communication terminal 300 becomes the selected vehicle 200 by including identification information of the selected vehicle 200 in a neighbor cell list transmitted to the wireless communication terminal 300.

[0062] 7 is an explanatory diagram for explaining dual connectivity provided by the radio base station 100 to the radio communication terminal 300. Here, a case where the radio base station 100 selects the vehicle 200 as a secondary cell will be described as an example.

[0063] 7, the radio base station 100 is connected to an MME 402 in an EPC 400 via an S1-C interface, and is connected to an SGW 404 in the EPC 400 via an S1-U interface. The EPC 400 may be included in the communication system 10. The MME 402 may be included in the communication system 10. For the C-plane, RRC is established only between the MME 402 and the radio base station 100, and the vehicle 200 is controlled via the radio base station 100. The radio base station 100 and the vehicle 200 may be connected via an X2-C interface.

[0064] Regarding the U-plane, the radio base station 100 distributes data for the radio communication terminal 300 received from the SGW 404 via the S1-U interface to the vehicle 200. The radio base station 100 and the vehicle 200 may be connected via an X2-U interface. The vehicle 200 transmits the data distributed from the radio base station 100 to the radio communication terminal 300.

[0065] 7 is an example, and other configurations may be adopted. For example, the interface used for the connection between them is not limited to the above-mentioned interface, and other interfaces may be adopted. Also, for example, when the vehicle 200 and the SGW 404 can communicate with each other via different paths, data for the wireless communication terminal 300 may be transmitted from the SGW 404 to the vehicle 200 without passing through the wireless base station 100.

[0066] 8 is a schematic diagram showing an example of a processing flow by the wireless base station 100. Here, an example of a processing flow from a start state in which the wireless communication terminal 300 and a plurality of vehicles 200 are in the range of the wireless base station 100 to the start of provision of DC to the wireless communication terminal 300 will be described.

[0067] In S302, the receiving unit 110 receives a measurement report from the wireless communication terminal 300. In S304, the receiving unit 110 judges whether or not at least one of the one or more radio wave reception intensities included in the measurement report is stronger than a predetermined intensity. If it is judged that it is not strong, the process returns to S302, and if it is judged that it is strong, the process proceeds to S306.

[0068] In S306, the receiver 110 determines whether there are multiple vehicles 200 whose radio wave reception strength is stronger than a predetermined strength. If there are multiple vehicles 200, the process proceeds to S308. If there are not multiple vehicles 200, the process proceeds to S312.

[0069] In S308, the transmitting unit 130 transmits a quality information report instruction to the vehicles 200 whose radio wave reception strength is stronger than a predetermined strength. In S310, the receiving unit 110 receives the quality information transmitted by each of the vehicles 200 in response to the report instruction transmitted by the transmitting unit 130 in S308.

[0070] In S312, the DC control unit 142 selects a secondary cell. If it is determined in S306 that the number of vehicles 200 whose radio wave reception strength included in the quality information is stronger than a predetermined strength is not multiple, the DC control unit 142 selects one vehicle 200 whose radio wave reception strength is stronger than a predetermined strength as a secondary cell. If it is determined in S306 that the number of vehicles 200 whose radio wave reception strength is stronger than a predetermined strength is multiple, the DC control unit 142 selects a secondary cell from the multiple vehicles 200.

[0071] The DC control unit 142 may select a secondary cell from the multiple vehicles 200 based on the quality information received in S310. The DC control unit 142 may select a secondary cell from the multiple vehicles 200 further based on the measurement report received in S302. When the quality information received in S310 includes the moving speed of the vehicle 200, the DC control unit 142 may select a secondary cell from the multiple vehicles 200 further based on the moving speed. For example, the DC control unit 142 selects a secondary cell from the multiple vehicles 200 by giving priority to a vehicle 200 with a slower moving speed.

[0072] In S314, the DC control unit 142 registers the vehicle 200 selected in S312 as a secondary cell and performs a setting process. In S316, the DC control unit 142 starts providing DC to the wireless communication terminal 300 together with the vehicle 200 for which the setting process has been completed in S314.

[0073] 9 is a schematic diagram illustrating an example of a functional configuration of the EPC 400 or the MME 402 when the radio base station 100 complies with the LTE communication method. When the radio base station 100 complies with the 5G communication method, the EPC 400 or the MME 402 may be 5GC. The EPC 400 may be an example of a communication system. The MME 402 may be an example of a communication system.

[0074] The EPC 400, the MME 402, or the 5GC includes a receiver 410, an acquirer 420, a transmitter 430, a DC controller 442, and an HO controller 444. It is not essential to include all of these components. Here, differences from the receiver 110, the acquirer 120, the transmitter 130, the DC controller 142, and the HO controller 144 will be mainly described.

[0075] The receiving unit 410 receives various types of information received by the receiving unit 110 of the radio base station 100 from the radio base station 100. The acquiring unit 420 acquires the various types of information received by the receiving unit 410. The transmitting unit 430 transmits, for example, the quality information acquired by the acquiring unit 420 to the radio communication terminal 300. The transmitting unit 430 transmits the quality information to the radio communication terminal 300, for example, via the radio base station 100. In addition, the transmitting unit 430 transmits, for example, the device information acquired by the acquiring unit 420 to the radio communication terminal 300. The transmitting unit 430 transmits the device information to the radio communication terminal 300, for example, via the radio base station 100.

[0076] The DC control unit 442 selects a secondary cell for the wireless communication terminal 300 when the wireless base station 100 provides a DC as a primary cell to the wireless communication terminal 300. The method of selecting a secondary cell by the DC control unit 442 may be the same as that of the DC control unit 142.

[0077] The DC control unit 442 controls to register the selected vehicle 200 as a secondary cell for the radio base station 100 when the radio base station 100 provides DC as a primary cell to the radio communication terminal 300. The DC control unit 442 causes the radio base station 100 to register the selected vehicle 200 as a secondary cell.

[0078] The HO control unit 444 controls handover of the wireless communication terminal 300. The HO control unit 444 controls so that the handover destination of the wireless communication terminal 300 becomes the selected vehicle 200. The method of selecting the handover destination by the HO control unit 444 may be the same as that of the HO control unit 144. The HO control unit 444 controls so that the handover destination of the wireless communication terminal 300 becomes the vehicle 200, for example, by causing the neighbor cell list transmitted by the wireless base station 100 to include identification information of the selected vehicle 200.

[0079] 10 is a schematic diagram showing an example of a display by the wireless communication terminal 300. When a communication device in which the wireless communication terminal 300 is located is in the range of another communication device, the wireless communication terminal 300 displays, on the display unit 310, an antenna pictogram 320 indicating the radio wave reception strength from the former communication device by the latter communication device, in addition to the radio wave reception strength from the former communication device. For example, when the wireless communication terminal 300 is in the range of a vehicle 200 in the range of a wireless base station 100, the wireless communication terminal 300 displays, on the display unit 310, an antenna pictogram 320 indicating the radio wave reception strength from the wireless base station 100 by the vehicle 200, in addition to the radio wave reception strength from the vehicle 200.

[0080] Display unit 310 includes display area 312 and display area 314 that is larger than display area 312, and wireless communication terminal 300 may display antenna pictogram 320 in display area 312. Display area 312 may be an example of a first display area. Display area 314 may be an example of a second display area.

[0081] 10 includes an icon 321 indicating the radio wave reception strength from the vehicle 200, and an icon 322 indicating the radio wave reception strength from the wireless base station 100 of the vehicle 200. The wireless communication terminal 300 may display the icon 321 and the icon 322 so as to indicate the communication relationship between the wireless communication terminal 300, the vehicle 200, and the wireless base station 100. In the example shown in FIG. 10, the communication relationship is represented by arrows.

[0082] The wireless communication terminal 300 may change the display mode of the icon depending on whether the source of the radio wave is a fixed relay device that is fixedly installed or a mobile relay device. Fig. 10 shows an example in which the display mode is changed by adding "~" when the source is a mobile relay device. This is not a limited example, and for example, the icon 321 may be moved up and down and left and right, may be made to blink, may be displayed in color, or may be displayed in grayscale. Also, the display of the icon 321 may be changed as described later.

[0083] Fig. 11 shows an example of an antenna pictogram 330. The antenna pictogram 330 shown in Fig. 11 includes an icon 331 indicating the radio wave reception strength from the vehicle 200, and an icon 332 indicating the radio wave reception strength from the wireless base station 100 of the vehicle 200. The icon 331 resembles an automobile to indicate that the source of the radio wave is a mobile relay device. Fig. 10 shows an example in which "~" is added to indicate that the source is a mobile relay device, but this is not limiting, and an icon resembling an automobile may be used as shown in Fig. 11. Any other method may be used to indicate the difference between the mobile relay device and the fixed relay device.

[0084] Fig. 12 shows an example of an antenna pictogram 340. When there are multiple communication devices above the communication device in which the wireless communication terminal 300 is located, the wireless communication terminal 300 may display an antenna pictogram 340 that indicates the radio wave reception strength and communication relationship of each of the multiple communication devices. The antenna pictogram 340 shown in Fig. 12 includes an icon 341 indicating the radio wave reception strength from a first mobile relay device in which the wireless communication terminal 300 is located, an icon 342 indicating the radio wave reception strength of the first mobile relay device from a second mobile relay device in which the first mobile relay device is located, and an icon 343 indicating the radio wave reception strength of the second mobile relay device from a wireless base station 100 in which the second mobile relay device is located.

[0085] 13 illustrates an example of a functional configuration of the wireless communication terminal 300. The wireless communication terminal 300 includes an acquisition unit 350, a display control unit 360, a receiving unit 370, and a transmitting unit 380.

[0086] The acquiring unit 350 acquires first information on the communication quality of the wireless connection between the wireless communication terminal 300 and a first communication device that relays communication between the wireless communication terminal 300 and a second communication device. The acquiring unit 350 also acquires second information on the communication quality of the wireless connection between the first communication device and the second communication device. When there are one or more communication devices above the second communication device, the acquiring unit 350 may acquire information on the communication quality of the wireless connection between each of the communication devices.

[0087] The communication quality of the wireless connection may be, for example, radio wave reception strength, noise information, or communication speed.

[0088] The acquiring unit 350 acquires, for example, first information indicating the radio wave reception strength from the first communication device of the wireless communication terminal 300 and second information indicating the radio wave reception strength from the second communication device of the first communication device. Alternatively, the acquiring unit 350 may acquire the first information indicating the radio wave reception strength from the wireless communication terminal 300 of the first communication device and the second information indicating the radio wave reception strength from the first communication device of the second communication device.

[0089] The display control unit 360 controls the display unit 310 to display the first information and the second information acquired by the acquisition unit 350. The display control unit 360 may display each of the first information and the second information as an icon. The display control unit 360 may display the first information and the second information on the display unit 310 so as to represent a communication relationship in which the wireless communication terminal 300 communicates with the second communication device via the first communication device. For example, the display control unit 360 represents the communication relationship by arrows, such as antenna pictogram 320, antenna pictogram 330, and antenna pictogram 340.

[0090] The display control unit 360 may control the display of the first information in a different manner depending on whether the first communication device is a fixed relay device or a mobile relay device. For example, the display control unit 360 controls the display of the first information as a different icon depending on whether the first communication device is a fixed relay device or a mobile relay device.

[0091] For example, when the first communication device is a fixed relay device, the display control unit 360 displays an icon without "~" and when the first communication device is a mobile relay device, the display control unit 360 displays an icon resembling an automobile when the first communication device is a mobile relay device. The difference between the case where the first communication device is a fixed relay device and the case where the first communication device is a mobile relay device is not limited to these and may be any difference. The same may be true for the second communication device. Furthermore, when there is one or more communication devices above the second communication device, the same may be true for those communication devices.

[0092] The display control unit 360 may perform control so that the first information and the second information are displayed in the display area 312. Note that the display control unit 360 may also perform control so that the first information and the second information are displayed in the display area 314.

[0093] When the first communication device is a mobile relay device, the acquisition unit 350 may further acquire movement-related information related to the movement of the first communication device. The display control unit 360 may cause the display unit 310 to display the first information using the movement-related information acquired by the acquisition unit 350. For example, when the movement-related information includes movement speed information, the display control unit 360 causes the display unit 310 to display the first information so as to represent the movement speed of the first communication device. As a specific example, the display control unit 360 causes the first information to be displayed with an icon of a color corresponding to the movement speed of the first communication device. For example, the display control unit 360 causes the first information to be displayed with an icon of a darker red color as the movement speed increases. Any method may be adopted as a method of representing the movement speed. For example, the display control unit 360 may cause a character or a numerical value representing the movement speed to be displayed together with the icon. The same may be applied to the second communication device. In addition, when there is one or more communication devices higher up the second communication device, the same may be applied to those communication devices.

[0094] This allows the user of the wireless communication terminal 300 to know the moving speed of the mobile relay device to which the wireless communication terminal 300 is directly or indirectly connected. For example, when the moving speed of the connected mobile relay device is fast, the user of the wireless communication terminal 300 can consider changing the connection destination to another mobile relay device.

[0095] The receiving unit 370 receives various types of information. The receiving unit 370 receives, for example, quality information transmitted by the transmitting unit 430. The acquiring unit 350 may acquire the quality information from the receiving unit 370. Furthermore, the receiving unit 370 receives, for example, device information transmitted by the transmitting unit 430. The acquiring unit 350 may acquire the device information from the receiving unit 370.

[0096] The transmitting unit 380 transmits various types of information. For example, the transmitting unit 380 transmits a measurement report to the radio base station 100 within the range of the radio communication terminal 300.

[0097] Fig. 14 shows an example of a processing flow by the wireless communication terminal 300. When the wireless communication terminal 300 is in the range of a first communication device that is in the range of a second communication device, the wireless communication terminal 300 may receive the radio wave reception strength of the first communication device from the second communication device from the first communication device, not from the wireless base station 100. In Fig. 14, an example will be described in which the first communication device is a vehicle 200 and the second communication device is a wireless base station 100.

[0098] In S402, the wireless communication terminal 300 measures the radio wave reception strength from the vehicle 200. In S404, the transmission unit 380 transmits to the vehicle 200 request information requesting the radio wave reception strength.

[0099] In S406, in response to receiving the request information, the vehicle 200 measures the radio wave reception strength from the wireless base station 100. In S408, the vehicle 200 transmits the radio wave reception strength measured in S406 to the wireless communication terminal 300.

[0100] In S410, the display control unit 360 causes the display unit 310 to display an antenna pictogram including an icon indicating the radio wave reception strength measured in S402 and an icon indicating the radio wave reception strength received by the receiving unit 370 in S408.

[0101] Fig. 15 shows an example of a processing flow of the wireless communication terminal 302 in the situation shown in Fig. 1. In S502, the wireless communication terminal 302 measures the radio wave reception strength from the vehicle 204. In S504, the transmission unit 380 of the wireless communication terminal 302 transmits request information to the vehicle 204 requesting the radio wave reception strength.

[0102] In S506, the vehicle 204 that received the request information in S504 transmits the request information requesting radio wave reception strength to the vehicle 202. In S508, the vehicle 204 measures the radio wave reception strength from the vehicle 202. In S510, the vehicle 202 that received the request information in S506 measures the radio wave reception strength from the wireless base station 100.

[0103] In S512, the vehicle 202 transmits the radio wave reception strength measured in S510 to the vehicle 204. In S514, the vehicle 204 transmits to the wireless communication terminal 302 the radio wave reception strength received from the vehicle 202 in S510 and the radio wave reception strength measured in S508.

[0104] In S516, the display control unit 360 of the wireless communication terminal 302 displays on the display unit 310 an icon pictogram including an icon indicating the radio wave reception strength measured in S502, an icon indicating the radio wave reception strength from the radio base station 100 of the vehicle 202 received in S514, and an icon indicating the radio wave reception strength from the vehicle 202 of the vehicle 204.

[0105] 16 is a schematic diagram showing an example of a hardware configuration of a computer 1200 functioning as a radio base station 100, a radio communication terminal 300, an EPC 400, or an MME 402. A program installed in the computer 1200 can cause the computer 1200 to function as one or more "parts" of the device according to the above embodiment, or cause the computer 1200 to execute operations or one or more "parts" associated with the device according to the above embodiment, and / or cause the computer 1200 to execute a process or steps of the process according to the above embodiment. Such a program may be executed by the CPU 1212 to cause the computer 1200 to execute specific operations associated with some or all of the blocks of the flowcharts and block diagrams described in this specification.

[0106] The computer 1200 according to this embodiment includes a CPU 1212, a RAM 1214, and a graphics controller 1216, which are connected to each other by a host controller 1210. The computer 1200 also includes input / output units such as a communication interface 1222, a storage device 1224, and an IC card drive, which are connected to the host controller 1210 via an input / output controller 1220. The storage device 1224 may be a hard disk drive, a solid state drive, or the like. The computer 1200 also includes a ROM 1230 and a legacy input / output unit such as a touch panel, which are connected to the input / output controller 1220 via an input / output chip 1240.

[0107] The CPU 1212 operates according to programs stored in the ROM 1230 and the RAM 1214, thereby controlling each unit. The graphics controller 1216 acquires image data generated by the CPU 1212 into a frame buffer or the like provided in the RAM 1214 or into itself, and causes the image data to be displayed on the display device 1218. The computer 1200 may not be equipped with the display device 1218, in which case the graphics controller 1216 causes the image data to be displayed on an external display device.

[0108] The communication interface 1222 communicates with other electronic devices via a wireless communication network. The storage device 1224 stores programs and data used by the CPU 1212 in the computer 1200. The IC card drive reads programs and data from an IC card and / or writes programs and data to an IC card.

[0109] The ROM 1230 stores therein a boot program or the like that is executed by the computer 1200 upon activation, and / or a program that depends on the hardware of the computer 1200. The input / output chip 1240 may also connect various input / output units to the input / output controller 1220 via a USB port or the like.

[0110] The programs are provided by a computer-readable storage medium such as an IC card. The programs are read from the computer-readable storage medium, installed in the storage device 1224, RAM 1214, or ROM 1230, which are also examples of computer-readable storage media, and executed by the CPU 1212. Information processing described in these programs is read by the computer 1200, and brings about cooperation between the programs and the various types of hardware resources described above. An apparatus or method may be configured by implementing an operation or processing of information according to the use of the computer 1200.

[0111] For example, when communication is performed between the computer 1200 and an external device, the CPU 1212 may execute a communication program loaded in the RAM 1214 and instruct the communication interface 1222 to perform communication processing based on the processing described in the communication program. Under the control of the CPU 1212, the communication interface 1222 reads transmission data stored in a transmission buffer area provided in the RAM 1214, the storage device 1224, or a recording medium such as an IC card, and transmits the read transmission data to a network, or writes reception data received from the network to a reception buffer area or the like provided on the recording medium.

[0112] Furthermore, the CPU 1212 may cause all or a necessary portion of a file or database stored in an external recording medium such as the storage device 1224, an IC card, etc. to be read into the RAM 1214, and may perform various types of processing on the data on the RAM 1214. The CPU 1212 may then write back the processed data to the external recording medium.

[0113] Various types of information, such as various types of programs, data, tables, and databases, may be stored in the recording medium and undergo information processing. The CPU 1212 may perform various types of processing on the data read from the RAM 1214, including various types of operations, information processing, conditional judgment, conditional branching, unconditional branching, information search / replacement, etc., as described throughout this disclosure and specified by the instruction sequence of the program, and write back the results to the RAM 1214. The CPU 1212 may also search for information in a file, database, etc. in the recording medium. For example, when a plurality of entries each having an attribute value of a first attribute associated with an attribute value of a second attribute are stored in the recording medium, the CPU 1212 may search for an entry whose attribute value of the first attribute matches a specified condition from among the plurality of entries, read the attribute value of the second attribute stored in the entry, and thereby obtain the attribute value of the second attribute associated with the first attribute that satisfies a predetermined condition.

[0114] The above-described programs or software modules may be stored in a computer-readable storage medium on the computer 1200 or in the vicinity of the computer 1200.
