Description

[Technical field]

[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS This application is a continuation-in-part of, and claims the benefit of, U.S. Patent Application No. 16 / 181,018, filed November 5, 2018, which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.

[0002] TECHNICAL FIELD This disclosure relates to the field of tools for improving services, and in one particular example, to computer enhancements for increasing the rate of growth of online services. [Background technology]

[0003] A large number of services are available to users on the Internet, including social media platforms, e-commerce sites, news comment services, online gaming platforms, etc. Many services that exist primarily separate from the Internet, such as so-called brick-and-mortar businesses, have also established an Internet presence to sell goods and services online, to advertise those goods and services, and to otherwise connect with existing and potential customers. Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0004] In both examples, attracting new users to sign up for or otherwise use the service is critical to the success of the service. Moreover, the value of various kinds of services may be determined at least in part by network effects, such that the value of a service increases (e.g., linearly or in some cases exponentially) as the service attracts and retains a larger population of users. As such, services seek new ways to survive and grow by building their user base. [Brief description of the drawings]

[0006] Implementations of the present disclosure relate generally to tracking and rewarding users of a service, such as an online Internet-based computer-implemented service. More specifically, implementations of the present disclosure relate to monitoring the number of users who register with the service, determining which users are identified users based on various criteria, determining whether the number of identified users reaches a predetermined threshold (e.g., before a predetermined cut-off time / day), and transferring value, such as a grant of shares, to each of the identified users.

[0007] In general, implementations of innovative aspects of the subject matter described herein may be embodied in a method that includes the following acts: accessing registration data identifying registered users of a service, analyzing the registration data to determine a number of named users of the service, where the users are determined to be named users based at least in part on having registered with the service prior to when the number of named users of the service reaches a predetermined target threshold, and transmitting a network communication to initiate a transfer of value, including at least a portion of an equity interest in an entity associated with the service, to each of the named users based at least on the number of named users within the target parameters.

[0008] Implementations of innovative aspects of the subject matter described herein may be embodied in a method that includes the following acts: accessing registration data identifying registered users of a service, analyzing the registration data to determine a number of named users of the service, where the users are determined to be named users based at least in part on the users having registered for the service prior to a predetermined deadline, and sending a network communication to initiate a transfer of value, including at least a portion of a share of the entity, to each of the named users.

[0009] Each of these and other implementations can optionally include one or more of the following innovative aspects: the user is determined to be an identified user further based on the user registering with the service before a predetermined deadline; a grant is sent to each identified user based on a determination that the service has reached a goal parameter for the identified user before the deadline; the operations further include presenting the deadline on a user interface (UI) of the service; the user is determined to be an identified user further based on a user score for the user being at least a threshold score, the user score being calculated based on detecting one or more activities performed by the user via the service; the one or more activities being uploading content to the service, creating content on the service, sending at least one message via the service, initiating at least one transaction via the service, interacting with at least one advertisement via the service, inviting at least one other user to register with the service, and the at least one other user registering to become another identified user. the operations further include presenting a current user score for one or more of the particular users in a UI of the service; the user score is further calculated based on detecting one or more other activities performed by the user via at least one other service; the user is determined to be the particular user further based on the user being in a top predetermined number of users ranked according to the user score; the operations further include presenting a number of current particular users of the service and / or entities related to the service in a user interface (UI) of the service.

[0010] Other implementations of any of the above aspects include corresponding systems, devices and / or computer programs configured to perform the operations of the methods. The present disclosure includes instructions coupled to and stored on one or more processors, which, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations according to an implementation of the methods provided herein. The present disclosure further provides a system for performing the methods provided herein. The system includes one or more processors and a computer-readable medium coupled to the one or more processors and having instructions stored thereon, which, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations according to an implementation of the methods provided herein.

[0011] It is understood that implementations of the present disclosure can include any combination of the aspects and features described herein, i.e., implementations of the present disclosure are not limited to the combinations of aspects and features specifically described herein, but also include any other suitable combinations of the aspects and features provided.

[0012] The details of one or more implementations of the disclosure are set forth in the accompanying drawings and the description below. Other features and advantages of the disclosure will become apparent from the description and drawings, and from the claims.

[0013] Implementations of the present disclosure relate to techniques for tracking users of a service, qualifying particular users based on various criteria, and transferring value to each particular user based on an evaluation of certain parameters, such as whether the number of particular users reaches a predefined threshold and / or whether the number of particular users reaches a predefined threshold before a predefined deadline (e.g., date and / or time).

[0014] Implementations provide a platform and / or mechanism for incentivizing users to register and / or actively participate in a service, such as an online service provided over the Internet, by providing some value to the identified users when a predetermined threshold number of users register for the service and / or other criteria are met. In some implementations, the value transferred is a grant of a predetermined number of shares in an entity (e.g., a company) that operates or is associated with the service provided. For example, the first one million users who register as members of a newly launched social networking site are provided with a grant of a predetermined number of shares in the entity that owns or operates the social networking site if the threshold number of registered users (e.g., one million) is reached before a predetermined threshold deadline (e.g., date and / or time). In some examples, the identified users can be recognized based on the identified users' activities through the service, particularly activities that provide value to the service in some way (e.g., quantifiable manner). For example, the identified users can be determined based on users who post content to the site (e.g., comments, blog posts, product reviews, media content, etc.), purchase products through the site, click on advertisements on the site, invite other users to join the site, etc. In some implementations, a user score can be calculated for registered users based on their various activities, and users whose scores exceed a threshold score can be designated as specific users to receive stock awards or other value.

[0015] Thus, implementations provide a data processing platform that operates to qualify a named user based on various factors, such as whether the user registered with the service before a threshold number of named users (referred to herein as a stock number) is reached and / or before the expiration of a predefined deadline (referred to herein as a stock deadline). The named user is eligible to receive the transferred value (e.g., stock grant). In some examples, if the named user's stock number is reached before the stock deadline expires, value is transferred to the named user. Furthermore, in some implementations, users are designated as named users because they have engaged in desirable value-added activities, such as uploading content, inviting or referring new users to register, purchasing merchandise, viewing advertisements, sending messages via the service, and / or other activities that may contribute to the overall value of the service. Such activities may be detected, for example, before the expiration of the stock deadline, and used to calculate a score for each user. Users with a score above a predefined threshold may be qualified as named users. In this manner, implementations provide a mechanism to motivate valuable and desirable users to register and actively engage with the service, and registered users are incentivized to engage in highly desirable activities.

[0016] Implementations support the use of any suitable type of value that can be transferred to specific users to motivate them to sign up for the service and / or to perform value-adding (e.g., desirable) activities via the service and / or otherwise. In some implementations, the value is the grant of one or more shares or at least a portion of at least one share of an entity that owns or is associated with the service. For example, an increase in the number of users and / or an increase in the number of users that add value, among other things, can help increase the value of the service and the entity that operates the service. The granting of shares to users thus allows participating users to directly benefit from the increase in the value of the service to which they themselves contributed. Providing for the transfer of value to specific users allows for the realization of desirable network effects by exponentially increasing the number of users and / or by incentivizing users that add value to participate.

[0017] In some implementations, users are vetted during a registration process to ensure that registered users of the service meet various criteria. Such criteria may include, but are not limited to, allowing registration of users who are at least a minimum age (e.g., 18 years of age), reside in one of a certain set of designated regions (e.g., country, state, city, province, prefecture, etc.), and are citizens of one of a certain set of designated countries. Registration may be limited to users who can provide verifiable proof, such as an image of a valid, unexpired government-issued identification document (e.g., passport, driver's license, etc.). The registration process may ensure that only one registration is allowed per user to prevent fraud, and any suitable technology may be used to ensure that the user is a real human being and not an automated process (e.g., a bot).

[0018] Among registered users of a set of services, certain users may be recognized based on one or more of the following criteria:

[0019] A user who registered with the service before a certain stock number of users (e.g., 1 million) was reached.

[0020] A user who registers for the service before the expiration of a specified stock period. The stock period may be a specific date, a specific time, or a specific time on a specific date, and the date and time may be described using any suitable format. The expiration of a period, as described herein, refers to the date and / or time having passed beyond the date and / or time specified as the period.

[0021] A user having a user score that is at least a predefined threshold score. A user score for a user can be calculated based on detection of certain (e.g., value-adding) activities the user engages in through the service. Such activities can include, but are not limited to, one or more of: adding content to the service, such as uploading images, video, audio, graphics, and / or other media content, posting comments, posting reviews, posting articles, etc.; inviting, recommending, or contributing other users to register for the service; creating content on the service, such as creating reviews, blog posts, and / or other content within the service; viewing advertisements and / or other specific content through the service; initiating at least one transaction through the service, such as purchasing a product or service offered for sale through the service and / or selling (or offering to sell) a product or service through the service; and / or sending a message through the service. Activity can also include other types of activity undertaken by the user through the service. For example, activity can include a user initiating a subscription to a service, such as a subscription that charges a periodic (e.g., monthly) fee.

[0022] In some examples, the score can be calculated based on activities performed by the user prior to the expiration of the stock. In some implementations, the user score may be based on activities performed by the user via other services (e.g., using other websites, applications, etc.) designated to track the user's activities using pixels, beacons, cookies, or other suitable technology. In some implementations, different activities are weighted differently (e.g., given different point values) when calculating a score for a user. For example, referring other users to the service may be weighted higher in the calculation than viewing an advertisement or commenting on a blog post. As another example, posting a link to a video may be assigned more weight than posting a link to an article, and attracting new specialized users may be assigned more weight than posting a video. The service may inform the user of the weights assigned to various activities to better motivate higher value-added activities. The service may also inform the user of their current score and the score that may need to be achieved to become a specialized user prior to the expiration of the stock. Such notification may be made to the user via the service's user interface (UI), messages sent to the user by the service, and / or other suitable mechanisms.

[0023] In some examples, higher scores may be awarded for referrals that lead to successful registration of a particular user, and even higher scores may be awarded for referrals that lead to successful registration of highly desirable users (e.g., those that contribute above an activity threshold). Such rules may be applied to avoid and / or disincentivize referrals that do not add value to the service and / or that lead to inactive or dormant user registrations. For example, users may be awarded points toward their scores based on one or more of the following considerations:

[0024] If the person you referred registers. For example, you will not receive points for just making a referral unless the person you referred registers.

[0025] When a referral becomes a named user based on exceeding a fixed score.

[0026] If your referrer becomes a specific user based on a dynamic (rising) score of the “Top 1 million in the leaderboard.” This may apply given that some users may move in and out of this top group until the deadline is reached.

[0027] A User who refers to another User is called a Referring User and a User who is referred to is called a Referring User. If the Referring User is a bot, a scammer, opens multiple accounts and / or engages in other questionable behavior, the Referring User may not receive Points. In some cases, if the Referring User is a bot / scammer / multiple account holder but those Referring Users are legitimate, the Referring User may be disqualified but may be allowed to participate and attempt to become a specific User.

[0028] In some implementations, the identified users are identified as users who are ranked among the top N users according to their user scores. For example, the top 1 million users ranked according to their scores may be identified as identified users to receive value transfers. In such cases, the implementation may calculate, for example, dynamically and / or in real time, the user's score, which is updated based on the user's most recent activity. Users may be periodically notified of their ranking and / or whether they are identified users to motivate users to continue to engage in scored activities and / or increase their activities to achieve and maintain a ranking that qualifies them as identified users.

[0029] When launching a new service, it may be difficult for the service to acquire a large number of users and / or to acquire a large number of users that provide the desired added value. Traditionally, services have used previously available techniques such as free trials, discounted pricing, and expensive advertising. However, on the Internet, where many services are already provided for free (e.g., social media, news media, video hosting, email, etc.), these traditional techniques may not be effective. Furthermore, in some cases, it may be difficult for a new service to acquire users while competing with existing established services that already serve these users. The implementations described herein provide a mechanism to motivate users to sign up for a service by offering value, such as ownership and / or equity in the entity that operates the service.

[0030] In an exemplary embodiment, a technique is disclosed for increasing the rate of growth of a service. User-specific information is dynamically calculated for each of a plurality of users of the service while each of the plurality of users is accessing the service. The user-specific information includes scores associated with the plurality of users. The score represents a total value of points associated with each of a set of scored activities performed by each of the plurality of users on the service. A particular user is identified from the plurality of users based on a determination that one or more eligibility criteria are met. The one or more eligibility criteria include each of the particular users having a ranking above a threshold ranking, the ranking being based on the score. Transfer of value of the service to each of the one or more particular users is initiated based on a determination that one or more grant criteria are met, the grant criteria including reaching a stock quantity for the particular user before expiration of a stock deadline.

[0031] Techniques are described for tracking users of a service and recognizing identified users based on various criteria. Criteria for recognizing identified users may include whether the user registered with the service before a deadline and / or whether the user is among the first predetermined number of users to register. Identified users may also be recognized based on the activities the user performs through the service. Value, such as at least a portion of the stock of an entity associated with the service, may be transferred (e.g., via a network transfer) to each of the identified users based on an evaluation of parameters such as whether the number of identified users reaches a predetermined threshold and / or whether the number of identified users reaches a predetermined threshold by a predetermined deadline.

[0032] FIG. 1 illustrates an example environment 100 according to an implementation of the present disclosure. As shown in this example, the environment 100 can include one or more user devices 104, each operated by or associated with a user 102. The user devices 104 can include any suitable type of computing device, including portable computing devices (e.g., smartphones, tablet computers, wearable computers, etc.), as well as less-portable computing devices (e.g., desktop computers, laptop computers, smart appliances, game or entertainment consoles, etc.). The environment 100 can also include one or more server devices 108 that host and / or operate the services 106. The server devices 108 can include any suitable number and type of computing devices, including distributed computing (e.g., cloud computing) servers. The user devices 104 can communicate with the services 106 over one or more networks, such as the Internet.

[0033] The services 106 may include any suitable type of service 106, including, but not limited to, any suitable type of service, such as, but not limited to, an e-commerce site, a social network platform, a gaming platform, a news and / or comment site, etc. The services 106 may be implemented using any suitable technology. For example, the services 106 may be websites served by a web server with content provided by an application server that accesses a persistence layer database, middleware software, and / or other components. Such websites may include any number of pages presented via a web browser and / or other suitable container for web content executing on the user device 104. In some implementations, the services may be provided via other types of applications executing on the user device 104, such as native applications or apps. In some examples, information presented via the applications may be communicated from the services 106 to the user device 104. The services 106 may include any suitable number and types of user interfaces 110 that present information to the user 102.

[0034] The server device 108 may also execute one or more transfer management modules 112 and / or one or more specific user determination modules 114. The server device 108 may also include a data storage device 116. The modules 112, 114, and the data storage device 116 may collectively be referred to as a platform. The platform may interact with the service 106 to 1) identify specific users of the service, 2) identify conditions under which a transfer of value should occur (e.g., meeting the stock number of the specific users before the expiration of the stock period), and 3) initiate a transfer of value to the specific users at the appropriate time (e.g., upon expiration of the stock period or at another time), such as initiating the transfer of a certain number of shares to each of the specific users.

[0035] The data store 116 can store registration data 118 identifying registered users of the service 106, activity data 120 describing user activity (e.g., desirable activity that provides added value) detected on the service 106, score data 122 describing one or more users' (e.g., current) user scores, and / or entitlement data 124 describing value to be transferred (and / or transferred) to particular users. The data store 116 can be part of a platform hosted on the same server device 108 as the modules 112 and / or 114, or can be externally hosted on other devices accessible via one or more networks. While the example shows the platform hosted on the same server device 108 as the service 106, implementations are not limited to such configurations. In some implementations, the platform can be hosted on other devices separate from the service 106. In such examples, the platform can receive registration, activity and / or other information regarding users of the service 106 from the service 106 via one or more networks.

[0036] Module 114 may analyze registration data 118, activity data 120, and / or other information to identify named users 126 and / or non-named users 128 as described herein. Module 112 may initiate and / or otherwise manage value transfers 130 to named users, such as initiating the grant of shares to named users.

[0037] The value transferred to the designated users may be any suitable value and may be determined to provide appropriate incentives for user registration with and / or activity on the service 106. For example, the entity operating the service 106 may offer a significant portion of its outstanding stock (e.g., 49%) as part of the program, and this amount is divided among the authorized designated users.

[0038] A particular user may be identified as a user who meets all eligibility criteria. In some implementations, the criteria include registering as one of the first N users (e.g., stock count) to register with the service. The criteria may also include registering before the expiration of a stock deadline. The criteria may also include meeting a minimum user score calculated based on the user's activity on the service and / or other services. In some examples, the criteria include being in the top N users ranked according to user score to further motivate users to add value to the service by engaging in value-added scoring activities.

[0039] Each particular user may receive a transfer of value if certain grant criteria are met. Such grant criteria may include, but are not limited to, the particular user's stock quantity being reached before the expiration of the stock period. The transfer of value may begin at the stock period or at any suitable date and time after the expiration of the stock period if the grant criteria are met.

[0040] For example, if there are 2 million new subscriptions (sign-ups) (e.g., target stock level) to the service before the 6-month period (e.g., stock date), the top 1 million unique users ranked as of the stock date may be granted stock in the company that owns the service. As another example, the top 1 million users ranked one year after the stock expiration date may be granted stock. In this way, the implementation can provide multiple incentive deadlines to encourage growth of the user base and user activity. Users who join after the stock level is reached may not receive stock. Thus, the implementation can notify the users periodically and / or in real time of the number of users who have become unique users, and may indicate for each user whether they became a unique user before or after the stock level is reached and / or before or after the stock expiration date. In some examples, if the stock expiration date expires before the stock level is reached, the user will not be granted stock.

[0041] In some examples, the platform may provide each user with an up-to-date, real-time indication of the user's score and whether they are among the top users eligible for stock grants or if they do not currently have a high enough score to qualify. In the latter case, showing the current score may motivate users to engage in higher scoring activities prior to the date that the rankings are used to determine who will receive stock grants. Although the examples herein describe stock grants, other types of value may be transferred to eligible users.

[0042] In various implementations, the determination of stock levels (number of stocks), stock expirations, number or percentage of stocks offered, value of (e.g., desirable) activity to the service, points earned for activity, size of the pool of top users to be rewarded, and / or other parameters can be adjusted to achieve desired incentives and allow services to rapidly increase their user base and activity level. The implementations can be applied to increase the user (e.g., customer) base and / or activity level of online services (e.g., websites, e-commerce portals, social networks, etc.). The implementations can also be applied to increase the user (e.g., customer) base and / or activity level of other types of services whose presence and / or activity is not primarily on the Internet, such as any type of brick-and-mortar service. The implementations can be applied to services (e.g., businesses) that have begun and expect to expand their number of users and / or user activity quickly. The implementations can also be applied to more mature services that are looking to expand further. Through application of the implementations described herein, users can earn stock in the service, which can benefit both the service and the user.

[0043] 2 illustrates a flow diagram 200 of an example process for managing a transfer of value to a particular user according to an implementation of the present disclosure. Operations of the process may be performed by one or more of the particular user determination module 114, the transfer management module 112, the service 106, the user interface 110, and / or other software modules executing on the server device 108 or elsewhere.

[0044] Registration data 118 may be accessed (202), which describes and / or identifies registered users of the service 106. As described above, registration may include verification to ensure that new users meet requirements regarding minimum age, location, nationality, etc., and may include filtering out bots, spam, multiple registrations by the same user, potential fraudsters, etc.

[0045] The registration data 118 may be analyzed 204 to determine the current number N of identified users of the service 106. As mentioned above, in some examples, activity data 120 may also be utilized to determine the identified users based on their user scores.

[0046] It may be determined (206) whether N is at least a target parameter (eg, a threshold stock number or stock level).

[0047] If N is at least the target parameter, a transfer of value (208) may be initiated for the particular users. If not, the process may continue to monitor for reaching the target parameter. Initiating the transfer of value may include sending a network communication to each particular user to initiate a transfer of value including at least one share of stock in an entity associated with the service, such as an owner and / or operator of the service.

[0048] 3 illustrates a flow diagram 300 of an example process for managing a transfer of value to a particular user according to an implementation of the present disclosure. Operations of the process may be performed by one or more of the particular user determination module 114, the transfer management module 112, the service 106, the user interface 110, and / or other software modules executing on the server device 108 or elsewhere.

[0049] Registration data 118 may be accessed (302) and analyzed (304) to determine the current number N of particular users of the service 106. As mentioned above, in some examples, activity data 120 may also be utilized to determine particular users based on their user scores.

[0050] It may be determined 306 whether the stock has expired. If so, the particular user may be notified of the expiration and / or that a transfer of value may not occur 308. If the stock has not expired, it may be determined 310 whether N is at least a target parameter (e.g., a threshold stock number or stock level).

[0051] If N is at least the target parameter, a transfer of value (312) may be initiated for the particular user. If not, the process may continue to monitor for reaching the target parameter.

[0052] The process of Figures 2 and / or 3 may be triggered periodically to verify satisfaction of criteria that may trigger a transfer of value. In some examples, the process may be triggered by the registration of a new user.

[0053] 4 illustrates a flow diagram 400 of an example process for qualifying a particular user to receive a transfer of value according to an implementation of the present disclosure. Operations of the process may be performed by one or more of the particular user determination module 114, the transfer management module 112, the service 106, the user interface 110, and / or other software modules executing on the server device 108 or elsewhere.

[0054] Information about a particular registered user, including registration data 118 and / or activity data 120, may be analyzed (402).

[0055] A determination may be made as to whether the user is among the first N users who registered (e.g., target parameters) 404. If the user is not among the first N users who registered, the user may be designated a non-specific user.

[0056] If the user is among the first N users to register, it may be determined whether the user registered before the expiration of the stock period (406). If the user registered after the expiration of the stock period, the user may be designated as a non-specific user (412).

[0057] If registered before the expiration of the stock period, a user score for the user may be calculated based on their activity as described herein (408). It may be determined whether the user score is at least a threshold score (410). If the user score is not at least the threshold score, the user may be designated as a non-identified user (412). If the user score is at least the threshold score, the user may be designated as an identified user (414).

[0058] Additionally, in some implementations, certain users may be designated as the top ranked users (e.g., top 1 million) based on their user scores. The criteria applied in this example may be used individually or in any combination according to various implementations.

[0059] 5 illustrates an example user interface 500 according to an implementation of the present disclosure. In some examples, the user interface 500 may be presented as part of the user interface 110 exposed by the service 106, as described above. Alternatively, the user interface 500 may be presented separately and / or independently from the service user interface 110.

[0060] User interface 500 may include a section 502 that presents current vesting statistics governing when and / or if a transfer of value will occur, such as the stock expiration date, the specific user goal parameters (threshold stock number or stock level) to be reached, the number of current specific users, and the number of specific users still needing to reach the stock threshold. Section 502 may also include other information, such as the vesting date (if different from the stock expiration date).

[0061] The user interface 500 may include a section 504 that shows the current number of top-ranked users and / or their current scores (e.g., a leaderboard). A second section 506 may present users currently logged on to the service 106 with their current scores and the scores they may need to achieve to be designated a particular user. In some examples, the current user's rank may be listed in section 504 to show how the user's score compares to the scores of other users.

[0062] In an exemplary embodiment, a challenge associated with motivating different types of users or potential users of a service to act, act faster, or act more frequently (e.g., by registering with the service or performing scoring activities on the service). Users are classified into motivation types (e.g., based on any data described herein, such as data provided by the users to the service via one or more user interfaces, data related to monitoring of users' behavior on the service, or data collected or received from public databases or files accessed by the service). Motivation types include categories ranging from low reward / high probability to high reward / low probability. Thus, for example, a first motivation category or type may include users who are motivated by knowing that their time and effort will certainly result in some reward, even if the reward is small. A second motivation category or type may include users who are motivated by knowing that the reward will be large if they receive a reward, even if the probability of receiving the reward is low. A first type of user may be provided with a relatively low level "Low Carrot Motivator" (e.g., within a tiered group) where a small reward, such as one share of stock in the service, is likely to be transferred to the user. A second type of user may be provided with a "Big Prize Motivator" where a relatively large value (e.g., up to about 1% of the stock in the service) may be transferred to a single user, but is less likely to be transferred to the user. The Big Prize Motivator may be associated with a top group. In an exemplary embodiment, the top group may be limited to a small number of users (e.g., 10 per million). In an exemplary embodiment, the top group is associated with a prize that is set at a large, easy to understand, and unchanging level, such as 1%, which may make marketing throughout the boost period more effective. In an exemplary embodiment, having two reward groups allows both high and low motivators to be used.Hierarchical groups may have a series of hierarchies for encouraging activity, including using a Do-More-Get-More motivation factor where higher rankings lead to increased rewards.

[0063] In an example embodiment, in addition to general motivators, the system may be configured to provide rewards for specific task motivators. For example, an "early bird" reward may start high and drop over time (e.g., daily). In this way, users are incentivized to take action (e.g., sign up for a service) sooner. As another example, a "dump dominant" reward may be provided to a user who has an account with a company that is dominant in a field, such as the company with the largest market share, if they cancel their account with the dominant company to become loyal to a new company (e.g., a service) that is provided with a user boost via the computer processes described herein.

[0064] In an exemplary embodiment, a validation motivation is applied. Companies make many claims and customers are naturally skeptical of such claims, especially those that offer high-value products. Therefore, a user boost campaign is provided that has multiple phases: launch, close, and reward delivery. In this way, users who receive rewards in the early stages can validate (e.g., via social media) that they have received the reward. This validation encourages more people to participate in future phases.

[0065] In an example embodiment, the reward amount and probability are configurable or adjustable (e.g., via an administrative user interface). Through the user interface, a user (e.g., an administrator) can view user interface controls (e.g., in a first panel or user interface view) for adjusting the effectiveness of the current reward amount and probability with respect to encouraging a desired behavior by a user or obtaining a desired result and the reward amount and probability. Additionally, the user interface may include one or more user interface controls for specifying or weighting input data for classifying a user into one or more motivational types or for managing or adjusting the motivational categories into which a user is classified.

[0066] In an example embodiment, the registration process for the service may include various information required for the user to open a securities account (e.g., via a third party) to receive the service value transferred. In an example embodiment, the information is stored and, upon notification that the user will receive a transfer of value, the stored information is provided to a third party to enable a securities account to be opened for the user. The information collected may correspond to information required by various regulatory authorities to open a securities account. In an example embodiment, instead of opening a new securities account, the user may provide the service with various information necessary to link an existing securities account for purposes of receiving the transfer of value.

[0067] As an example, consider a start-up company that operates an internet service. To grow quickly, the administrator configures the system described herein to transfer a predetermined percentage (e.g., 30%) of the company's stock to users who meet the following criteria: (1) be among the first 100,000 users (e.g., sign up), join during the boost period (e.g., within 3 months), and perform enough desirable activity (e.g., recruit other users to the service) to be in the top 50% of point earners. Furthermore, the administrator allocates 10% of the offered stock to the top 10 users (e.g., each of the top 10 users earns 1%) and 20% to the top 99,990 users (e.g., according to a sliding scale corresponding to points earned). Then, based on access to continuous monitoring of users' real-time behavior with respect to the system presented in one or more user interfaces, the administrator can set any of these parameters of the system for one or more boosts (which in an example embodiment remain fixed throughout each of the one or more boosts). In an example embodiment, a boost can be defined or configured to have multiple phases. A first phase may allocate a first value for transfer to users who meet one or more criteria, and a second phase may allocate a second value for transfer to users who meet the same criteria and one or more additional or different criteria. In this manner, the administrator may increase the likelihood that the startup will achieve a desired growth rate.

[0068] The implementations described herein provide technical advantages and / or improvements over previously used systems. The implementations described herein provide more efficient use of processing capacity, storage space, network bandwidth, active memory, and / or other computational resources than previously used systems. In some implementations, the determination of whether a user is a particular user to receive value (e.g., shares) may be made dynamically in real time with respect to the generation and analysis of registration data and / or activity data as described herein. Additionally, the transfer of value to a particular user may be made dynamically in real time with respect to the determination that one or more criteria have been met to initiate the transfer of value. As used herein, a real-time operation may be performed in response to a trigger event or in response to a trigger condition without the need for any intervening human action. A real-time operation may be performed in response to a trigger event or in response to the detection of a trigger condition within a short period of time (e.g., immediately), taking into account any delays in computer processing, network communication, data storage access, and / or other delays inherent (e.g., unavoidable) in the computer system performing the operation. Thus, a real-time operation may be described as an operation that is synchronous with respect to the trigger event or trigger condition. In some examples, the real-time action may occur on the same execution path as the detection of the trigger event or trigger condition. In some implementations, the transfer of value occurs as a network communication (e.g., a signal) that initiates the transfer to each particular user's account. In some implementations, the transfer of value includes sending a signal to a printing device and / or an automated mailing system to print a document indicating the transfer of value and / or to place the document in an envelope for mailing to the particular user. The display of information via the user interfaces described herein may occur (e.g., in real-time) with respect to calculations made to qualify a particular user and / or to determine whether criteria for initiating a transfer of value have been met. Thus, the implementations described herein improve upon previously available user interfaces and enhance the operational efficiency of the computing devices described herein by providing current, up-to-date information regarding stock thresholds, number of registered users, number of registered users still required to meet stock thresholds, user scores, user rankings, and / or other information relevant to managing the transfers of value described herein. 6 illustrates an exemplary computer system according to an implementation of the present disclosure.
