Modes for Carrying Out the Invention

[0019] <First Embodiment> Hereinafter, with reference to the attached drawings, a first embodiment of the rear grip structure of a fishing rod according to the present invention (hereinafter simply referred to as the "rear grip structure") will be described. In the description of the drawings, the same elements are denoted by the same reference numerals, and redundant descriptions will be omitted as appropriate. In the following description, "front-rear", "left-right", and "up-down" follow the arrows in FIGS. 1 and 3A. This direction is used for convenience of explanation and does not limit the direction of the present invention. The rear grip structure of the present invention includes a "composite rear grip structure" composed of a plurality of members and a "single rear grip structure" composed of a single member. First, the composite rear grip structure will be described.

[0020] <Composite rear grip structure> As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the rear grip structure R1 includes a grip body 1, a rod body 2, a protective ring 20, and a rod tip 30. The rod body 2 is a cylindrical member that serves as the main body of the fishing rod. The rod body 2 may be composed of a single piece or may have a joint structure composed of a plurality of pieces.

[0021] As shown in FIG. 2, the grip body 1 of the present embodiment is hollow and includes a main body portion 10, a first insertion portion 11, and a large-diameter portion 12. The grip body 1 can be made of resin or metal, but is not limited thereto.

[0022] As shown in FIGS. 3A and 3B, the main body portion 10 has a substantially frustum-conical shape and includes a receiving portion 10a, a first diameter-expanding portion 10b, and a second diameter-expanding portion 10c. The receiving portion 10a projects perpendicularly in the radially outward direction from the base end of the first insertion portion 11. The receiving portion 10a is a portion where the base end of the rod body 2 abuts. The outer diameter of the receiving portion 10a is substantially the same as the outer diameter of the rod body 2.

[0023] The first diameter-expanded portion 10b is a portion that is continuous with the receiving portion 10a and expands in diameter as it moves away from the first insertion portion 11. The first diameter-expanded portion 10b may be a flat surface, but in this embodiment, it is formed as a curved surface that is slightly concave toward the axis C. The second diameter-expanded portion 10c is a portion that is continuous with the first diameter-expanded portion 10b and expands in diameter as it moves away from the first insertion portion 11. The second diameter-expanded portion 10c may be a flat surface, but in this embodiment, it is formed as a curved surface that is slightly concave toward the axis C. The inclination angle of the second diameter-expanded portion 10c with respect to the axis C is smaller than the inclination angle of the first diameter-expanded portion 10b with respect to the axis C. The length of the second diameter-expanded portion 10c in the direction of the axis C is longer than the length of the first diameter-expanded portion 10b in the direction of the axis C.

[0024] A grip opening 10d that opens laterally is formed in the second diameter-expanded portion 10c. The shape and number of the grip openings 10d are not particularly limited, but in this embodiment, three openings that are notched obliquely in the circumferential direction are formed.

[0025] The first insertion portion 11 extends from the main body portion 10 toward the side of the fishing rod 2 (see FIG. 1) and has a cylindrical shape. The first insertion portion 11 is a portion that is inserted into the fishing rod 2 and is formed to be smaller than the inner diameter of the fishing rod 2. The outer peripheral surface of the first insertion portion 11 and the inner peripheral surface of the fishing rod 2 are adhered with an adhesive. Note that although the first insertion portion 11 of this embodiment has a cylindrical shape, it may be appropriately changed according to the inner shape of the fishing rod 2.

[0026] The large-diameter portion 12 is continuous with the main body portion 10 and extends toward the rod base side, presenting a cylindrical shape. The large-diameter portion 12 is provided with an opening 13 that opens toward the rod base side. A plurality of fine concave grooves are formed on the outer peripheral surface of the large-diameter portion 12 over the circumferential direction. The concave grooves may be omitted, but providing the concave grooves can enhance the grip force. A protruding portion 12a that protrudes toward the axis C is formed on the inner peripheral surface of the large-diameter portion 12. A protective ring 20 is attached to the peripheral edge of the opening 13. The protective ring 20 has a cylindrical shape and is composed of a resin member, a metal member, a soft member, or the like. The protective ring 20 is fitted to the inner peripheral surface of the large-diameter portion 12 and covers the end portion of the large-diameter portion 12 in the circumferential direction.

[0027] As shown in FIGS. 4A and 4B, the rod plug 30 is hollow and includes a second insertion portion 31 and a base portion 32. The second insertion portion 31 extends forward from the base portion 32 and has a cylindrical shape. The second insertion portion 31 is formed to be smaller in diameter than the inner diameter of the first insertion portion 11 (see FIG. 3A). The outer peripheral surface of the second insertion portion 31 is adhered to the inner peripheral surface of the first insertion portion 11 with an adhesive. The length of the second insertion portion 31 may be appropriately set according to the adhesive strength, but in this embodiment, it is shorter than the length of the first insertion portion 11.

[0028] The base portion 32 is continuously formed with the second insertion portion 31 and has a substantially frustum shape. The base portion 32 is formed to have a larger diameter than the rod 2. The base portion 32 includes a base small-diameter portion 32a continuous with the second insertion portion 31, a base large-diameter portion 32b formed to have a larger diameter than the base small-diameter portion 32a, and four base body portions 32c connecting the base small-diameter portion 32a and the base large-diameter portion 32b. The base small-diameter portion 32a has an annular shape and is formed to have a larger diameter than the proximal end of the second insertion portion 31. A stepped portion 32d that projects radially outward is formed by the second insertion portion 31 and the base small-diameter portion 32a. The base large-diameter portion 32b has a cylindrical shape and is continuously formed with the base body portion 32c. The outer diameter of the base large-diameter portion 32b is smaller than the inner diameter of the protective ring 20. A stepped portion 32e that projects radially outward is formed by the base body portion 32c and the base large-diameter portion 32b.

[0029] The base body portion 32c is a plate-shaped portion that connects the base small-diameter portion 32a and the base large-diameter portion 32b. A groove portion 32f is formed on the surface of the base body portion 32c along the extension direction. By providing the groove portion 32f, the strength of the base body portion 32c can be enhanced. Instead of the groove portion 32f, ribs may be provided, or the groove portion 32f may be omitted. A rod plug opening 33 that opens laterally is formed between adjacent base body portions 32c, 32c. The shape and number of the rod plug openings 33 are not limited, but in this embodiment, four openings having a substantially trapezoidal shape in side view are formed.

[0030] Next, the method of assembling the rear grip structure R1 will be described. The following assembly method is an example, and the order may be changed as appropriate. As shown in FIG. 3B, first, the grip body 1 and the rod stopper 30 are assembled. An adhesive is applied to the outer peripheral surface of the second insertion portion 31 of the rod stopper 30, and the second insertion portion 31 of the rod stopper 30 is inserted into the first insertion portion 11 of the grip body 1. At this time, the receiving portion 10a of the grip body 1 and the stepped portion 32d of the rod stopper 30 are in contact with each other, and the overhanging portion 12a of the grip body 1 and the stepped portion 32e of the rod stopper 30 are in contact with each other. Also, the cover plate 40 is attached to the inside of the base large-diameter portion 32b of the rod stopper 30 with an adhesive or the like. A design or the like may be applied to the rear surface (the surface on the rod base side) of the cover plate 40.

[0031] Next, the protective ring 20 is attached to the inner peripheral surface of the large-diameter portion 12. Finally, an adhesive is applied to the outer peripheral surface of the first insertion portion 11 of the grip body 1, and the first insertion portion 11 is inserted into the rod 2 until the base end of the rod 2 hits the receiving portion 10a.

[0032] According to the rear grip structure R1 of the present embodiment described above, the inner peripheral surface of the rod 2 and the first insertion portion 11 of the grip body 1 are adhered, and the main body portion 10 of the grip body 1 is exposed outside the rod 2. Thereby, the joining strength can be ensured by the length of the first insertion portion 11, and the degree of freedom in design such as size, shape, and design can be increased by the main body portion 10. Further, since the grip body 1 is provided with a diameter-expanding portion (the first diameter-expanding portion 10b and the second diameter-expanding portion 10c) that expands in diameter as the main body portion 10 separates from the rod 2, the grip performance can be improved.

[0033] Also, since the inclination angles are changed by the first diameter-expanding portion 10b and the second diameter-expanding portion 10c, it is easy to hold, excellent in design, and easy to apply to a part of the body (such as the elbow, arm, and side). Further, since the grip body 1 is hollow, the weight of the grip body 1 can be reduced.

[0034] In addition, since the main body 10 is hollow and has an opening 13 that opens to the butt end side, by inserting the rod plug 30 through the opening 13 and inserting the second insertion part 31 of the rod plug 30 into the first insertion part 11, a double structure is formed, and the joint strength between the rod 2 and the grip main body 1 can be further enhanced. Also, the rod plug 30 is provided with step parts 32d and 32e, which respectively abut against the receiving part 10a and the overhanging part 12a, so that the positioning in the insertion direction can be easily performed. Further, by the step part 32e abutting against the overhanging part 12a, the rattling between the grip main body 1 and the rod plug 30 can also be prevented.

[0035] In addition, since a protective ring 20 for protecting the opening 13 is provided, it is possible to prevent the grip main body 1 from being damaged when it comes into contact with the ground or the like.

[0036] Also, the base part 32 of the rod plug 30 is formed to have a larger diameter than the rod 2, and a rod plug opening 33 that opens laterally is formed. Thereby, the weight reduction of the rod plug 30 can be achieved.

[0037] Also, a grip opening 10d is formed laterally in the main body 10 of the grip main body 1. Thereby, the grip performance can be improved, and the weight reduction of the grip main body 1 can be further improved.

[0038] (Modification Example 1) Next, as shown in FIG. 5, the grip main body 1B according to Modification Example 1 will be described. The main body 10B of the grip main body 1B is different from that of the above-described first embodiment in the shape of the grip opening 10Bd. The grip opening 10Bd is formed in a rectangular shape in the second diameter-expanded part 10Bc. A total of four grip openings 10Bd are formed in the circumferential direction of the main body 10B. Since the other configurations and effects are the same as those of the first embodiment, the description thereof is omitted.

[0039] (Modification Example 2) Next, as shown in FIG. 6, the grip body 1C according to Modification 2 will be described. The main body portion 10C of the grip body 1C has a different shape of the grip opening portion 10Cd from that of the first embodiment described above. The grip opening portion 10Cd is formed in a rectangular shape from the second enlarged diameter portion 10Cc to the large diameter portion 12. A total of four grip opening portions 10Cd are formed in the circumferential direction of the main body portion 10C. Since the other configurations and effects are the same as those of the first embodiment, the description thereof is omitted.

[0040] As in Modifications 1 and 2 described above, by changing the shape of the grip opening, weight reduction and design variations can be increased.

[0041] <Second Embodiment> Next, the rear grip structure according to the second embodiment of the present invention will be described. As shown in FIGS. 7A and 7B, in the second embodiment, the configuration of the protective ring 20B attached to the main body portion 10 and the rod plug 30B is different from that of the first embodiment. In the rear grip structure R2 according to the second embodiment, the description will be centered on the differences from the first embodiment.

[0042] As shown in FIGS. 7A and 7B, the protective ring 20B is set to have a greater thickness compared to the first embodiment. The protective ring 20B includes a flange portion 20Ba and a shaft portion 20Bb extending vertically from the flange portion 20Ba. The shaft portion 20Bb is inserted into the inner peripheral surface of the base large diameter portion 32Bb of the rod plug 30B.

[0043] Further, the rod plug 30B includes a second insertion portion 31B and a base portion 32B. In the present embodiment, the shape of the rod plug opening 33B formed in the base portion 32B is mainly different from that of the first embodiment. The rod plug opening 33B extends in a direction perpendicular to the axis C, and a plurality of them are arranged side by side in the direction of the axis C. Further, the rod plug opening 33B is formed such that the width in the left-right direction increases toward the rear.

[0044] The rear grip structure R2 described above can also achieve substantially the same effects as those of the first embodiment. Further, according to the protective ring 20B, the end portion of the large-diameter portion 12 and the base large-diameter portion 32Bb of the rod plug 30B can be protected. Also, as in the present embodiment, the size and shape of the rod plug 30B can be appropriately formed according to the application.

[0045] <Third Embodiment> Next, a rear grip structure according to a third embodiment of the present invention will be described. As shown in FIGS. 8A and 8B, in the third embodiment, the configuration of the rod plug 30C attached to the main body portion 10 is different from that of the first embodiment. [0054] The rear grip structure R4 described above can also achieve substantially the same effects as the first embodiment. A configuration including a diameter-reducing portion 10Dc like the main body portion 10D of this embodiment may also be used.

[0055] In addition, in the first to fourth embodiments, the grip opening and the rod plug opening may both be omitted. Further, the rod plug or the protective ring may be omitted.

[0056] <Fifth Embodiment: Single-Type Rear Grip Structure> Next, a single-type rear grip structure according to the fifth embodiment of the present invention will be described. As shown in FIG. 10, in the fifth embodiment, the configuration of the main body portion 10E is different from that of the first embodiment. The rear grip structure R5 according to the fifth embodiment is composed of a single member.

[0057] As shown in FIG. 10, the rear grip structure R5 includes a grip main body 1E and a rod 2. The grip main body 1E of the present embodiment is solid and includes a main body portion 10E, a first insertion portion 11E, and a large-diameter portion 12E. The grip main body 1E can be made of rubber, resin, or metal, but is not limited thereto.

[0058] The main body portion 10E has a substantially frustoconical shape and includes a receiving portion 10Ea, a first diameter-expanding portion 10Eb, and a second diameter-expanding portion 10Ec. The receiving portion 10Ea projects perpendicularly in the radially outward direction from the base end of the first insertion portion 11E. The receiving portion 10Ea is a portion where the base end of the rod 2 abuts. The outer diameter of the receiving portion 10Ea is substantially the same as the outer diameter of the rod 2.

[0059] The first diameter-expanding portion 10Eb is continuous with the receiving portion 10a and is a portion that expands in diameter as it moves away from the first insertion portion 11E. The first diameter-expanding portion 10Eb may be a flat surface, but in the present embodiment, it is formed as a curved surface that is slightly concave toward the axis C. The second diameter-expanding portion 10Ec is continuous with the first diameter-expanding portion 10Eb and is a portion that expands in diameter as it moves away from the first insertion portion 11E. The second diameter-expanding portion 10Ec may be a flat surface, but in the present embodiment, it is formed as a curved surface that is slightly concave toward the axis C. The inclination angle of the second diameter-expanding portion 10Ec with respect to the axis C is smaller than the inclination angle of the first diameter-expanding portion 10Eb with respect to the axis C. The length of the second diameter-expanding portion 10Ec in the direction of the axis C is longer than the length of the first diameter-expanding portion 10Eb in the direction of the axis C.

[0060] The large-diameter portion 12E is continuous with the main body portion 10E and extends toward the butt end side, presenting a cylindrical shape. The rear end of the large-diameter portion 12E is closed.
