AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Conventional latent image intaglio printed matters suffer from reduced concealability of the latent image portion due to thin lines and uneven line widths, making the image easily recognizable and susceptible to forgery.

Method used

The latent image printed matter features first and second ruled lines that bulge from the base material, with the second lines forming an outer and inner pattern around the first lines, positioned to avoid parallel overlap with the latent image contour, maintaining consistent line widths and pitches to create a density difference upon tilting, enhancing concealability.

Benefits of technology

The configuration improves the concealability of the latent image portion by preventing thinning and density differences, making the image less recognizable from direct observation and more secure against forgery.

Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a latent image printed matter with a latent image for preventing forgery and duplication.

Background Art

[0002] Conventionally, anti-forgery printed matters such as banknotes, travel documents, gift certificates, and various certificates have been required to be provided with anti-forgery technologies. As one of the anti-forgery technologies, for example, a latent image intaglio printed matter can be mentioned (see Patent Document 1). The latent image intaglio printed matter has a raised portion and forms a latent image pattern by arranging a ten-thousand-line pattern formed with a certain line width and pitch in two different directions. The latent image pattern is visually recognized as an image with a certain density when the latent image intaglio printed matter is observed from directly above, but when observed from a specific direction, a density difference occurs between the ten-thousand lines in the first direction and the ten-thousand lines in the second direction, and the latent image is visually recognized.

[0003] FIG. 10 is a plan view showing a conventional latent image intaglio printed matter 100. As shown in FIG. 10, the latent image printed matter 100 has a first ten-thousand-line 110 forming a latent image portion and a second ten-thousand-line 120 forming a background portion. The area (latent image portion) where the first ten-thousand-line 110 is provided is formed as the number "0 (zero)".

[0004] The area (background portion) where the second ten-thousand-line 120 is provided is divided into an area surrounding the latent image portion and an area surrounded by the latent image portion. Hereinafter, the second ten-thousand-line 120 provided in the area surrounding the latent image portion is referred to as the outer second ten-thousand-line 120A. Also, the second ten-thousand-line 120 provided in the area surrounded by the latent image portion is referred to as the inner second ten-thousand-line 120B.

[0005] FIG. 11 is an enlarged view of a part of the second multi-line 120 shown in FIG. 10. As shown in FIG. 11, the outer second multi-line 120A is arranged so as not to overlap substantially parallel to the outer contour of the latent image portion. As a result, the ruled lines forming the outer second multi-line 120A do not become narrow (thin) by overlapping parallel to the outer contour of the latent image portion. On the other hand, the inner second multi-line 120B coincides with the extension line of the outer second multi-line 120A.

Summary of the Invention

Problems to be Solved by the Invention

[0007] FIG. 12 is an enlarged view of a part of the inner second multi-line 120B shown in FIG. 10. As shown in FIG. 12, the inner second multi-line 120B coincides with the extension line of the outer second multi-line 120A. And, since one ruled line forming the inner second multi-line 120B overlaps substantially parallel to the inner contour of the latent image portion, the width is small (thin). Therefore, even when observing the latent image portion from directly above, the ruled line with a small width becomes conspicuous. As a result, the image represented by the latent image portion becomes easy to visually recognize, and the concealability of the latent image portion is reduced.

[0008] Also, it is conceivable that one ruled line forming the inner second multi-line 120B is close to the inner contour of the latent image portion, and the ruled line on the opposite side is away from the inner contour of the latent image portion. In this case, the non-ruled line portion on the side where the ruled line is away from the inner contour of the latent image portion becomes wider than the non-ruled line portion on the side where the ruled line is close to the inner contour of the latent image portion. Therefore, the non-ruled line portion on the side where the ruled line is away from the inner contour of the latent image portion becomes conspicuous. As a result, the image represented by the latent image portion becomes easy to visually recognize, and the concealability of the latent image portion is reduced.

[0009] An object of the present invention is to provide a latent image printed matter capable of improving the concealability of a latent image portion even when the latent image portion has a frame-shaped portion surrounding a background portion in consideration of the above problems.

Means for Solving the Problems

[0010] In order to solve the above problems and achieve the object of the present invention, the latent image printed matter of the present invention has a plurality of first ruled lines that extend in a first direction and bulge, and a plurality of second ruled lines that extend in a second direction different from the first direction and bulge, disposed on a base material, making it possible to observe a latent image pattern formed on the base material. The plurality of second ruled lines form an outer ruled line surrounding the pattern formed by the plurality of first ruled lines and an inner ruled line surrounded by the pattern formed by the plurality of first ruled lines. And the positions of the outer ruled line and the inner ruled line in the first direction are set individually.

Effects of the Invention

[0011] According to the anti-counterfeiting printed matter having the above configuration, even when the latent image portion has a frame-shaped portion surrounding the background portion, the concealability of the latent image portion can be improved. In addition, problems, configurations, and effects other than those described above will be clarified by the description of the following embodiments.

[0013] [First Embodiment] Hereinafter, the latent image printed matter which concerns on 1st Embodiment of this invention is demonstrated with reference to FIGS. 1-6. In addition, the same code | symbol is attached | subjected to the common member in each figure.

[0014] [Configuration of latent image printed matter] First, the structure of the latent image printed matter which concerns on 1st Embodiment is demonstrated with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2. FIG. 1 is a top view which shows the latent image printed matter which concerns on 1st Embodiment. FIG. 2 is a figure which shows the example of the width and pitch of the drawing line of the latent image part and background part in the latent image printed matter which concerns on 1st Embodiment.

[0015] The latent image printed matter 1 shown in FIG. 1 is formed by performing intaglio printing on a base material such as paper. The latent image printed matter 1 has the 1st ten thousand lines 10 which form a latent image part, and the 2nd ten thousand lines 20 which form a background part.

[0016] In the area (latent image portion) where the first set of lines 10 is provided, the number "0 (zero)" is formed. The first set of lines 10 is composed of a plurality of first scan lines 11 extending in the first direction X. The area (background portion) where the second set of lines 20 is provided is divided into an area surrounding the latent image portion and an area surrounded by the latent image portion.

[0017] Hereinafter, the second set of lines 20 provided in the area surrounding the latent image portion is referred to as the outer second set of lines 20A. Also, the second set of lines 20 provided in the area surrounded by the latent image portion is referred to as the inner second set of lines 20B. The outer second set of lines 20A and the inner second set of lines 20B are composed of a plurality of second scan lines 21 extending in a second direction Y different from the first direction X.

[0018] In the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 1, the first direction X is the horizontal direction when the horizontally long latent image printed matter 1 is viewed from directly above, and the second direction Y is an oblique direction slightly inclined from the vertical direction when the latent image printed matter 1 is viewed from directly above. Note that the first direction and the second direction according to the present invention are not limited to the horizontal direction and the oblique direction.

[0019] The plurality of first scan lines 11 and the plurality of second scan lines 21 are each formed so as to bulge from the surface of the base material. As shown in FIG. 2, the widths (first widths) of the plurality of first scan lines 11 are set to be the same. Also, the widths (second widths) of the plurality of second scan lines 21 are set to be the same. And the first width is set to be the same as the second width.

[0020] The intervals (first pitches) between adjacent first scan lines 11 are set to be the same. Also, the intervals (second pitches) between adjacent second scan lines 21 are set to be the same. And the first pitch is set to be the same as the second pitch. The first pitch and the second pitch are set to be two times or more the first width and the second width. Therefore, the distances between adjacent first scan lines 11 and the distances between adjacent second scan lines 21 are equal to or greater than the first width and the second width.

[0021] Hereinafter, in the area where the first grid line 10 is provided, the portions that are not the plurality of first ruled lines 11 are defined as "first non-ruled portions". Also, in the area where the second grid line 20 is provided, the portions that are not the plurality of second ruled lines 21 are defined as "second non-ruled portions".

[0022] As shown in FIG. 1, when the latent image printed matter 1 is observed from directly above, the first grid line 10 and the second grid line 20 are visually recognized by the observer as having the same density. As a result, the observer cannot visually recognize or has difficulty visually recognizing the first grid line 10 of the latent image printed matter 1 as the latent image pattern "0 (zero)".

[0023] When the observer tilts the latent image printed matter 1 (in the diagonally downward direction) so that the first direction X coincides with the left-right direction, the first direction X in which the plurality of first ruled lines 11 extend intersects substantially perpendicularly to the observer's line of sight. Therefore, the raised plurality of first ruled lines 11 conceal a part of the first non-ruled portion. As a result, the first grid line 10 is visually recognized by the observer as having an apparently high density state.

[0024] On the other hand, the second direction Y in which the plurality of second ruled lines 21 extend becomes substantially parallel to the observer's line of sight. Therefore, the second non-ruled portion is not concealed by the plurality of second ruled lines 21. As a result, the second grid line 20 is visually recognized by the observer without an apparent change in density. As a result, an apparent density difference occurs between the first grid line 10 and the second grid line 20, and the observer can visually recognize the first grid line 10 of the latent image printed matter 1 as the latent image pattern "0 (zero)".

[0025] [Second grid line] Next, the second grid line of the latent image printed matter 1 will be described with reference to FIGS. 3 to 5. FIG. 3 is a partial enlarged view of the latent image portion in the latent image printed matter 1. FIG. 4 is a partial enlarged view of the background portion in the latent image printed matter 1. FIG. 5 is a partial enlarged view of the background portion provided inside the latent image portion in the latent image printed matter 1.

[0026] As shown in FIG. 3, the outer second grid line 20A is arranged so as not to overlap substantially parallel to the outer contour of the region (latent image portion) where the first grid line 10 is provided. That is, the position of the outer second grid line 20A in the first direction X is set so as not to overlap substantially parallel to the outer contour of the latent image portion. Therefore, the plurality of second line segments 21 forming the outer second grid line 20A do not become narrow (thin) by overlapping the outer contour of the latent image portion.

[0027] Also, the side portions of each second line segment 21 forming the outer second grid line 20A are arranged so as not to contact both of the adjacent first line segments 11 among the plurality of first line segments 11 forming the first grid line 10. Thereby, each second line segment 21 forming the outer second grid line 20A can be prevented from overlapping the outer contour of the latent image portion.

[0028] As shown in FIG. 4, the plurality of second line segments 21 forming the inner second grid line 20B do not coincide with the extension lines of the plurality of second line segments 21 forming the outer second grid line 20A. And the inner second grid line 20B is arranged so as not to overlap substantially parallel to the inner contour of the region (latent image portion) where the first grid line 10 is provided. That is, the position of the inner second grid line 20B in the first direction X is set so as not to overlap substantially parallel to the inner contour of the latent image portion.

[0029] Therefore, as shown in FIG. 5, the plurality of second line segments 21 forming the inner second grid line 20B do not become narrow (thin) by overlapping the inner contour of the latent image portion. Thereby, among the plurality of second line segments 21 forming the inner second grid line 20B, the second line segments 21 arranged at both ends in the first direction X have the same width as the other second line segments 21, and no density difference occurs partially. As a result, the concealability of the latent image portion can be improved. When arranging the inner second grid line 20B at a position where no density difference is generated, it can be designed so as not to generate a density difference inside the latent image portion by arranging it symmetrically with respect to the X direction with the inner center point 50 of the latent image portion as the boundary.

[0030] Further, the shortest distance between the second ruled line 21 disposed at one end in the first direction X of the inner second ruled lines 20B and the inner contour of the latent image portion is substantially equal to the shortest distance between the second ruled line 21 disposed at the other end in the first direction X and the inner contour of the latent image portion. Thereby, it is possible to prevent a density difference from occurring between one end and the other end in the first direction X of the inner contour of the latent image portion, and it is possible to improve the concealability of the latent image portion.

[0031] Also, the side portions of each second ruled line 21 forming the inner second ruled lines 20B are arranged so as not to contact both of the adjacent first ruled lines 11. Thereby, each second ruled line 21 forming the inner second ruled lines 20B can be prevented from overlapping the inner contour of the latent image portion.

[0032] Thus, the latent image portion (″0″) having an annular portion is surrounded by the second ruled lines 20 and has a shape surrounding the second ruled lines 20. Therefore, the position of the inner second ruled lines 20B can be adjusted without affecting the outer second ruled lines 20A. Thereby, the position of the inner second ruled lines 20B can be determined in consideration of the inner contour of the latent image portion (″0″).

[0033] 〔Modification of the First Embodiment〕 FIG. 6 shows a modified example of the first embodiment, in which a camouflage pattern visible when the latent image printed matter 1′ is observed from directly above is formed by narrowing the widths (first widths) of the plurality of first ruled lines 11 and the widths (second widths) of the plurality of second ruled lines at positions straddling the latent image portion and the background portion.

[0034] As shown in FIG. 6, the latent image printed matter 1' with a camouflage pattern is formed by a first line of ten thousand lines 10 forming a latent image portion, a first scan line 11' forming an image portion of the camouflage pattern, and a first scan line 11 forming a portion other than the image portion of the camouflage pattern. The second line of ten thousand lines 20 forming the background portion is formed, as the outer second line of ten thousand lines 20A, by a second scan line 21A' forming an image portion of the camouflage pattern and a second scan line 21A forming a portion other than the image portion of the camouflage pattern. Further, as the inner second line of ten thousand lines 20B, it is formed by a second scan line 21B' forming an image portion of the camouflage pattern and a second scan line 21B forming a portion other than the image portion of the camouflage pattern. By forming these camouflage patterns, the concealment of the latent image when the latent image printed matter 1' is observed from directly above can be further improved.

[0035] Furthermore, a constricted portion (not shown) may be formed by further narrowing the width of the boundary portion between the scan lines (11', 21A', and 21B') forming the image portion of the camouflage pattern and the scan lines (11, 21A, 21B) forming a portion other than the image portion of the camouflage pattern. By forming the constricted portion, the visibility of the camouflage pattern when the latent image printed matter is observed from directly above can be improved, and thus the concealment of the latent image can be further improved.

[0036] [Second Embodiment] Next, the latent image printed matter according to the second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 7 to 9. In each figure, the same reference numerals are assigned to common members.

[0037] [Configuration of Latent Image Printed Matter] First, the configuration of the latent image printed matter according to the second embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. 7. FIG. 7 is a plan view showing the latent image printed matter 2 according to the second embodiment.

[0038] The latent image printed matter 2 shown in FIG. 7 is formed by performing intaglio printing on a base material such as paper. The latent image printed matter 2 has a first line of ten thousand lines 30 forming a latent image portion and a second line of ten thousand lines 40 forming a background portion.

[0039] In the area (latent image portion) where the first multiline 30 is provided, the number "5" and the letter "R" are formed. Hereinafter, the latent image portion of "5" is referred to as the first latent image portion, and the latent image portion of "R" is referred to as the second latent image portion. The first multiline 30 is composed of a plurality of first lines 31 extending in the first direction X. The area (background portion) where the second multiline 40 is provided is divided into an area surrounding the first latent image portion and the second latent image portion and an area surrounded by the second latent image portion ("R"). Note that the first latent image portion ("5") does not have a shape surrounding the background portion.

[0040] Hereinafter, the second multiline 40 provided in the area surrounding the latent image portion is referred to as the outer second multiline 40A. Also, the second multiline 40 provided in the area surrounded by the latent image portion is referred to as the inner second multiline 40B. The outer second multiline 40A and the inner second multiline 40B are composed of a plurality of second lines 41 extending in the second direction Y.

[0041] The plurality of first lines 31 and the plurality of second lines 41 are each formed so as to protrude from the surface of the base material. The width (first width) and pitch (first pitch) of the plurality of first lines 31 and the width (second width) and pitch (second pitch) of the plurality of second lines 21 are the same as those in the first embodiment. Hereinafter, in the area where the first multiline 30 is provided, the portion that is not the plurality of first lines 31 is referred to as the "first non-line portion". Also, in the area where the second multiline 40 is provided, the portion that is not the plurality of second lines 41 is referred to as the "second non-line portion".

[0042] As shown in FIG. 7, when the latent image printed matter 2 is observed from directly above, the first multiline 30 and the second multiline 40 are visually recognized by the observer as having the same density. As a result, the observer cannot visually recognize or has difficulty visually recognizing the first multiline 30 of the latent image printed matter 2 as the latent image patterns "5" and "R".

[0043] When the observer tilts (diagonally downward) the latent image printed matter 2 so that the first direction X coincides with the horizontal direction, a plurality of first ruled lines 31 conceal a part of the first non-ruled part. On the other hand, the second non-ruled part is not concealed by the plurality of second ruled lines 41. As a result, an apparent density difference occurs between the first ruled lines 30 and the second ruled lines 40, and the observer can visually recognize the first ruled lines 10 of the latent image printed matter 1 as the latent image patterns "5" and "R".

[0044] [Second ruled lines] Next, the second ruled lines 40 of the latent image printed matter 2 will be described with reference to FIGS. 8 and 9. FIG. 8 is an enlarged view of the main part showing the first latent image part in the latent image printed matter 2. FIG. 9 is an enlarged view of the main part showing the second latent image part in the latent image printed matter 2.

[0045] As shown in FIG. 8, the outer second ruled lines 40A surrounding the first latent image part ("5") are arranged so as not to overlap substantially parallel to the contour of the first latent image part ("5"). Therefore, the plurality of second ruled lines 41 forming the outer second ruled lines 40A do not become narrow (thin) by overlapping the contour of the first latent image part ("5").

[0046] As shown in FIG. 9, the outer second ruled lines 40A surrounding the second latent image part ("R") are arranged so as not to overlap substantially parallel to the outer contour of the second latent image part ("R"). Therefore, the plurality of second ruled lines 41 forming the outer second ruled lines 40A do not become narrow (thin) by overlapping the outer contour of the second latent image part ("R").

[0047] The plurality of second ruled lines 41 forming the inner second ruled lines 40B surrounded by the second latent image part ("R") do not coincide with the extension lines of the plurality of second ruled lines 21 forming the outer second ruled lines 40A. And the inner second ruled lines 40B are arranged so as not to overlap substantially parallel to the inner contour of the second latent image part ("R").

[0048] Therefore, as shown in FIG. 9, the plurality of second ruled lines 41 forming the inner second ruled lines 40B do not become narrower (thinner) by overlapping the inner contour of the second latent image portion (“R”). As a result, the second ruled lines 41 disposed at both ends in the first direction X among the plurality of second ruled lines 41 forming the inner second ruled lines 40B have the same width as the other second ruled lines 41, and no density difference occurs partially. Consequently, the concealability of the latent image portion can be improved.

[0049] Thus, the first latent image portion (“5”) that does not have an annular portion does not surround the second ruled lines 40 even if it has a complex shape. And if a part of the outer second ruled lines 40A is shifted according to the complex shape, portions with different pitches will occur in the outer second ruled lines 40A. Therefore, the position of the outer second ruled lines 40A in the first direction X is determined in consideration of the outer contours of the first latent image portion (“5”) and the second latent image portion (“R”).

[0050] On the other hand, the second latent image portion (“R”) having an annular portion is surrounded by the second ruled lines 40 and has a shape surrounding the second ruled lines 40. Therefore, the position of the inner second ruled lines 40B can be adjusted without affecting the outer second ruled lines 40A. As a result, the position of the inner second ruled lines 40B can be determined in consideration of the inner contour of the second latent image portion (“R”).

[0051] As described above, the plurality of second ruled lines of the latent image printed matter 1 according to the above-described embodiment form an outer second ruled line surrounding the pattern (latent image portion) formed by the plurality of first ruled lines and an inner second ruled line surrounded by the pattern (latent image portion) formed by the plurality of first ruled lines. And the positions of the outer second ruled line and the inner second ruled line in the first direction are individually set. Thereby, it is possible to prevent the second ruled lines of the outer second ruled line and the inner second ruled line from overlapping the contour of the latent image portion and becoming narrow. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the second ruled line disposed around the latent image portion from becoming thin and causing a partial density difference. As a result, even when the latent image portion has a frame-shaped portion surrounding the background portion, the concealability of the latent image portion can be improved.

[0052] In the latent image printed matter according to the above-described embodiment, the second ruled line in the inner second ruled line is designed not to coincide with the extension line of the second ruled line in the outer second ruled line. Thereby, the position of the second ruled line of the inner second ruled line can be set without being affected by the position of the outer second ruled line.

[0053] In the latent image printed matter according to the above-described embodiment, the inner second ruled line is arranged so as not to overlap substantially parallel to the inner contour of the pattern (latent image portion) formed by the plurality of first ruled lines. Thereby, it is possible to prevent the second ruled line of the inner second ruled line from becoming thin by overlapping the contour of the latent image portion.

[0054] In the latent image printed matter according to the above-described embodiment, the outer second ruled line is arranged so as not to overlap substantially parallel to the outer contour of the pattern (latent image portion) formed by the plurality of first ruled lines. Thereby, it is possible to prevent the second ruled line of the outer second ruled line from becoming thin by overlapping the contour of the latent image portion.

[0055] In the latent image printed matter according to the above-described embodiment, the shortest distance from the second ruled line disposed at one end in the first direction in the inner second ruled line group to the inner contour of the pattern (latent image portion) formed by the plurality of first ruled lines is substantially equal to the shortest distance from the second ruled line disposed at the other end in the first direction in the inner second ruled line group to the inner contour of the pattern (latent image portion) formed by the plurality of first ruled lines. Thereby, it is possible to prevent a density difference from occurring between one end and the other end in the first direction in the inner contour of the latent image portion, and the concealability of the latent image portion can be improved.

[0056] As described above, the latent image printed matter of the present invention has been described including its operation and effect. However, the latent image printed matter of the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and various modifications can be made without departing from the gist of the invention described in the claims.

[0057] For example, the plurality of second ruled lines 21 forming the inner second ruled line group 20B do not coincide with the extension lines of the plurality of second ruled lines 21 forming the outer second ruled line group 20A. However, as the latent image printed matter according to the present invention, as a result of individually adjusting the positions of the inner second ruled line group and the outer second ruled line group, the plurality of second ruled lines forming the inner second ruled line group do not coincide with the extension lines of the plurality of second ruled lines forming the outer second ruled line group, but may overlap a part of the extension lines.
