Abstract

To resolve troublesomeness in controlling a shift to power saving.SOLUTION: A television receiver according to an embodiment resolves troublesomeness in viewing from outside of a detection range by comprising: a sensor which detects a person existing in a predetermined detection range and outputs a result of the detection about whether a person is detected or not; a detection unit which detects a user operation and outputs the result of the detection; and a processing device which shifts a state between a normal state and a power saving state, and prohibits the power saving state on the basis of the result of the detection from the sensor and the result of the detection from the detection unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
