Summary of the Invention
Problems to be Solved by the Invention
[0005] In the mask of Patent Document 1, the copper mesh plate was taken in and out from a pocket opened upward, but the nose hit the upper part of the mask, and looseness was likely to occur at the edge of the opening at the upper part of the mask. For this reason, air might directly enter the nasal cavity and the mouth through the opening without passing through the copper mesh plate. Therefore, there was room for improvement in enhancing the antibacterial effect and the antiviral effect.
[0006] The present invention has been made in view of the above problems. That is, an object of the present invention is to provide a mask with a wire mesh that can be expected to have a high antibacterial effect and an antiviral effect.

[0010] Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. In all drawings, the same reference numerals are used for similar components, and redundant descriptions are omitted as appropriate. Note that the drawings used in this embodiment illustrate the configuration, shape of the wire mesh mask of the present invention, and the arrangement of each member constituting these, and do not limit the present invention. Also, the drawings do not necessarily accurately represent the dimensional ratios such as the length, width, and height of the wire mesh mask.
[0011] <Overview> First, mainly referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the overview of the wire mesh mask 1 according to this embodiment will be described. FIG. 1 is a front view showing the wire mesh mask 1 according to this embodiment, and FIG. 2 is a rear view showing the wire mesh mask 1.
[0012] The wire mesh mask 1 according to this embodiment includes a mask body 2 for covering the mouth area of a person, mask strings 3 provided on both sides of the mask body 2, and an antibacterial wire mesh member 4 that can be attached to the mask body 2. As shown in FIG. 2, the mask body 2 has a housing portion 5 for housing the wire mesh member 4. The housing portion 5 has an opening portion 5b that is open toward the side, and is configured to be able to take in and out the wire mesh member 4 through the opening portion 5b.
[0013] The mask body 2 includes those formed of materials such as fabric, non-woven fabric, and urethane. "The mask body 2 for covering the mouth area of a person" means that it at least covers the mouth area of a person, and of course includes those formed in a size that also covers the tip of the nose. Also, regarding the wire mesh mask 1 according to this embodiment, those formed in a size that also covers the tip of the nose will be described. As the wire mesh 40 described later that constitutes the "antibacterial wire mesh member 4", in this embodiment, a copper-made one will be described, but it is not limited to such a configuration, and it may be made of materials such as silver, zinc, cobalt, nickel, titanium, or alloys thereof. For example, as the copper alloy, brass, red copper, phosphor bronze, cupronickel, or red copper can be used.
[0014] Regarding the "opening 5b", in the mask body 2 according to the present embodiment, a pair of openings 5b that are open toward both sides and provided on both sides with the central portion 5c interposed therebetween will be described as an example, but it may be provided only on one side with respect to the central portion 5c.
[0015] According to the above configuration, since the wire mesh member 4 can be accommodated from the side, when a person wears the wire mesh mask 1, the mask body 2 is pulled by the mask strap 3 placed on the ear and the nose, and the opening 5b is likely to be in a closed state. Therefore, according to the wire mesh mask 1, the air passing through the opening 5b can be restricted, and it is easy to prevent the air from being sucked in without passing through the wire mesh member 4.
[0016] <Mask body> Next, the mask body 2 will be described mainly by referring to FIGS. 3 to 5 in addition to FIGS. 1 and 2. FIG. 3 is a view showing a partial tear of the front fabric 20 of the mask body 2, FIG. 4 is a view showing a partial tear of the rear fabric 21 of the mask body 2, and FIG. 5 is a view showing the inner surface of the rear fabric 21.
[0017] The mask body 2 is a part that covers the mouth area of a person as described above. As shown in FIG. 1, regarding the vertical length of the mask body 2, the central portion 5c is longer than the left and right ends 2d. The mask body 2 is composed of two front and rear fabrics (the front fabric 20 and the rear fabric 21) provided with the accommodating portion 5 interposed therebetween.
[0018] The front fabric 20 is composed of one partial tear formed in a substantially fan shape shown in FIG. 3 and the other partial tear formed symmetrically thereto. These (one partial tear and the other partial tear) are sewn in a state where their mutual arc portions (the sewing margin 20c which is the portion between the two-dot chain line and the edge in FIG. 3) are overlapped, and the front fabric 20 constitutes the front side of the mask body 2.
[0019] The rear fabric 21 is composed of one half, which is integrally formed with a roughly fan-shaped portion (main body 21a) and a roughly trapezoidal portion (folded-over portion 21d), as shown in Figure 4, and the other half, which is formed symmetrically to the first half. The folded-over portion 21d, which will be described later, is formed by sewing together the upper and lower edges of the roughly trapezoidal portion and a portion of the upper and lower edges of the roughly fan-shaped portion while they are overlapping. Furthermore, the mutual arc portions of these (one half and the other half) (the seam allowance 21c, which is the portion between the dashed line and the edge in Figure 4) are sewn together in an overlapping state. In addition, the upper and lower edges are sewn to the front fabric 20 so that the folded portion 21d faces inward (towards the front fabric 20), so that the back fabric 21 forms the back of the mask body 2.
[0020] [Opening] As shown in Figure 2, the opening 5b is formed on the central side of the mask body 2 (front fabric 20) beyond both the left and right ends 2d. In this embodiment, each of the openings 5b provided on both the left and right sides is located approximately 2 to 3 cm towards the center from both left and right ends 2d of the front fabric 20. Furthermore, as shown in Figure 2, the openings 5b in this embodiment are provided on the back side of the mask body 2. This configuration is advantageous because it prevents exposure to the outside and prevents air from entering from the outside. However, the openings according to the present invention are not limited to this configuration and may be provided on the front side (front side) of the mask body 2.
[0021] According to the above configuration, since the opening 5b is formed closer to the center than the left and right ends 2d, the vertical length of the mask body 2 fabric at the opening 5b is increased, making it easier to secure the vertical length of the opening 5b and making it easier to insert the wire mesh member 4 through the opening 5b. Furthermore, the length from the opening 5b to the central part 5c of the mask body 2 is shorter compared to the case where the opening 5b is provided at both the left and right ends 2d, making it easier to accommodate the wire mesh member 4, which is arranged across the central part 5c, in the housing part 5.
[0022] As shown in Figure 2, the vertical dimension L2 of the central part 4c of the wire mesh member 4 is greater than the vertical dimension L1 of the opening 5b, and is smaller than the vertical dimension L3 of the central part 5c of the housing section 5. With the above configuration, even if the wire mesh member 4 shifts to the left or right while housed in the mask body 2, the central part 4c of the wire mesh member 4 is less likely to pass through the opening 5b, thus preventing the wire mesh member 4 from unexpectedly falling out of the mask body 2.
[0023] As shown in Figure 2, the width of the back fabric 21 (length to the edges of the left and right openings 5b) is shorter than the width of the front fabric 20 (length to both left and right ends 2d of the mask body 2). The opening 5b is formed closer to the center than both left and right ends 2d of the front fabric 20. According to the above configuration, the opening 5b is formed on the central side of the front fabric 20, rather than on both the left and right ends 2d, so that when the user wears the wire mesh mask 1, the opening 5b can be closed between the front fabric 20 and the surface of the face. Therefore, it is possible to prevent outside air from entering the body through the opening 5b without passing through the wire mesh member 4.
[0024] [Fold section] Near the opening 5b inside the housing section 5, a locking portion (folded portion 21d) is provided that protrudes towards the center in the width direction of the mask body 2 and engages with the wire mesh member 4. The folded portion 21d is provided in a position that overlaps with the wire mesh member 4 in the width direction of the wire mesh mask 1, when the central portion 4c in the width direction of the wire mesh member 4 is positioned at the central portion 2c in the width direction of the mask body 2.
[0025] The locking portion (folded portion 21d) is formed by folding the end of the rear fabric 21 towards the center. In this embodiment, the end of the rear fabric 21 is folded back by approximately 2 cm to form the folded portion 21d.
[0026] The locking portion (folded portion 21d) helps to suppress displacement of the wire mesh member 4 within the housing portion 5. The "locking portion" in this embodiment is a folded portion 21d provided on the inside of the housing portion 5 (the portion where the front fabric 20 and the rear fabric 21 overlap), as shown in Figure 5. According to the above configuration, a fastening portion (folded portion 21d) can be formed by the fabric (back fabric 21) that makes up the mask body 2, thereby reducing the discomfort experienced by the user when wearing the wire mesh mask 1.
[0027] However, the "locking portion" is not limited to this configuration and may be provided on the front fabric 20, or it may not be a folded portion provided on the fabric. In other words, the "locking portion" only needs to lock the wire mesh member 4 housed in the housing 5 so that the wire mesh member 4 does not shift position within the housing 5, and may be a hook made of metal or resin material, not shown, in addition to the folded portion 21d.
[0028] The locking portion (folded portion 21d) according to this embodiment is formed by folding the end of the rear fabric 21 towards the center. Specifically, the edge of the back fabric 21 is folded inward (towards the front) and then bias tape 10 is attached to the edge of the opening 5b, which is the folded portion, and sewn together. In this way, the folded state of the back fabric 21 is maintained by sewing, forming the folded portion 21d. According to the above configuration, a locking portion that engages with the wire mesh member 4 can be formed using the fabric 21 on the back side without increasing the number of parts. Whether or not the bias tape 10 is used is optional.
[0029] Furthermore, as shown in Figure 5, the central edge 21b of the locking portion (folded portion 21d) is stitched. Other methods for overlock stitching include two-needle overlocking. According to the above configuration, the central edge 21b of the folded portion 21d is stitched, which prevents fraying of the folded portion 21d due to contact with the wire mesh member 4.
[0030] <Wire mesh components> Next, the wire mesh member 4 will be explained, mainly with reference to Figures 6 to 8. Figure 6 shows the cover 41, Figure 7 shows one half of the wire mesh 40, and Figure 8 is a side view of the wire mesh member 4. Let L2 be the vertical length of the central part 4c of the wire mesh member 4, L4 be the length of the upper folded part 41c, and L5 be the length of the lower folded part 41d. Let L6 be the length of the upper gap between the sewing thread 41e and the wire mesh 40, and L7 be the length of the lower gap. Furthermore, the folding width (length after folding) of the upper folding section 41c is defined as W1, and the folding width (length after folding) of the lower folding section 41d is defined as W2. Also, the width of the gap between the sewing thread 41e and the outer end of the wire mesh 40 in the width direction is defined as W3, and the width of the gap between the sewing thread 41e and the central end of the wire mesh 40 in the width direction is defined as W4.
[0031] The wire mesh member 4 is housed in the housing section 5 of the mask body 2, and is expected to provide the wire mesh mask 1 with antibacterial and antiviral properties. As shown in Figures 6 to 8, the wire mesh member 4 comprises a wire mesh 40 and a cloth cover 41 enclosing the wire mesh 40. The wire mesh 40 consists of the one shown in Figure 7 and a pair of symmetrical wire meshes provided on the left and right sides, and the pair of left and right covers 41 are formed by integral sewing.
[0032] The wire mesh 40 is a sheet-like woven fabric formed from metal wires in the warp and weft. The mesh count of the wire mesh 40 is preferably 100 mesh or more and 250 mesh or less. The average wire diameter of the metal wires is 0.03 mm or more and 0.09 mm or less, respectively. Furthermore, the wire mesh 40 may be made of different metals, not just warp and weft threads of the same type. Furthermore, the weaving method of the wire mesh 40 is not limited, and it can be a fabric woven using various weaving methods that utilize warp and weft threads, such as plain weave, twill weave, tatami weave, or twill tatami weave.
[0033] Furthermore, the Young's modulus of the metal material of the wire mesh 40 can be 60 GPa or more and 220 GPa or less, preferably 100 GPa or more and 220 GPa or less. Furthermore, the wire mesh 40 may be made of metal material in its raw state, or a coating may be applied to its surface. The cover 41 is provided with a sewn portion 41a formed along at least one side of the wire mesh 40. Specifically, a sewn portion 41a extending in the vertical direction is provided between a pair of wire mesh members 4.
[0034] The sewn portion 41a is located in the overlapping portion 41b where parts of the cover 41 overlap. As shown in Figure 8, the overlapping portion 41b and the sewn portion 41a protrude outward from the wire mesh 40. An upper folded portion 41c is formed at the upper end of the overlapping portion 41b, which is folded and sewn to the periphery. In other words, the upper folded portion 41c is formed when the upper end of the sewn portion 41a is folded and sewn to the periphery.
[0035] Regarding the statement that the overlapping portion 41b and the sewn portion 41a "protrude outward from the wire mesh 40," specifically, they protrude in front of (or behind) the wire mesh 40. According to the above configuration, the length in the width direction (both sides) is shortened by the upper folding portion 41c compared to the surrounding area, so that when the mask body 2 is pulled to both sides to put on the wire mesh mask 1, the upper folding portion 41c can be deformed downwards. Therefore, the upper folded portion 41c (the part that contacts the nose) of the wire mesh mask 1 can be deformed to conform to the contour of the face (nose) of the person wearing the wire mesh mask 1. With the above configuration, the cover can flex three-dimensionally to conform to the face.
[0036] The wire mesh mask 1 has a lower folded portion 41d at the lower end of the overlapping portion 41b, which is folded upward and sewn to the periphery. The upper folding portion 41c is formed to be longer in the vertical direction than the lower folding portion 41d. "Above" means including the upper component, and is a concept that includes not only directly above but also diagonally above. Similarly, "formed to be long in the vertical direction" means that the vertical component is formed with a large value.
[0037] As shown in Figure 8, when the length of the upper folding portion 41c is L4 and the length of the lower folding portion 41d is L5, length L4 is longer than length L5, and the value of the vertical component of length L4 is greater than the value of the vertical component of length L5. Furthermore, since the upper folding portion 41c and the lower folding portion 41d are sewn around their respective perimeters so that the width W1 is greater than the width W2, the length L4 is inevitably formed to be longer than the length L5.
[0038] With the above configuration, the lower folding portion 41d can be positioned to conform to the chin. Furthermore, because the upper folding portion 41c is formed to be longer in the vertical direction than the lower folding portion 41d, when the mask body 2 is pulled to both sides, the deformation angle of the upper folding portion 41c is larger than the deformation angle of the lower folding portion 41d. This makes it easier to place the wire mesh mask 1, which includes the wire mesh member 4, over the nose.
[0039] As shown in Figure 8, there is a gap of width W4 between the wire mesh 40 housed in the cover 41 and the sewn portion 41a. This gap prevents the sewing machine needle (not shown) from hitting the wire mesh 40 when sewing the sewn portion 41a, thus preventing the sewing machine needle from breaking.
[0040] Furthermore, the sum of the horizontal components of width W3 and width W4 is greater than the sum of the vertical components of length L6 and length L7. Here, the horizontal direction is synonymous with the width direction of the wire mesh mask 1, and the vertical direction is synonymous with the up-down direction of the wire mesh mask 1.
[0041] In other words, the lateral clearance (displaceable range) within the cover 41 of the wire mesh 40 is greater than the vertical clearance. Since the wire mesh mask 1 is fitted to conform to the user's face, the displacement in the left-right direction is greater than in the up-down direction. With the above relationship between width W3, W4 and lengths L6, L7, the large left-right clearance of the wire mesh 40 makes it easier to relatively displace the wire mesh 40 and the cover 41, allowing the wire mesh mask 1, including the wire mesh, to be smoothly fitted to the face.
[0042] Furthermore, the various components of the wire mesh mask of the present invention do not need to be independent entities. It is permissible for multiple components to be formed as a single member, for one component to be formed from multiple members, for one component to be part of another component, for a part of one component to overlap with a part of another component, and so on.
