Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a reciprocating compressor head structure, and more particularly, to at least one valve plate, at least one suction valve, at least one discharge valve, at least one supporting and / or fixing means, and at least one flexible (flexible) interface (intervening portion, contact portion) between the discharge valve and the supporting and / or fixing means. According to the present invention, such a reciprocating compressor (reciprocating compressor) head structure can avoid wear usually observed in the flexible region of the discharge valve.

[0002] The present invention particularly relates to the structure of a reciprocating compressor head provided with a discharge valve having a vane-type valve (vane type valve) used adjacent to the discharge hole of the valve plate of a hermetic reciprocating compressor applied to a refrigeration system.

Background Art

[0003] In a vapor compression cooling system, the compressor plays two important roles. The two important roles are to send cooling water into the cooling system and at the same time increase the fluid pressure in the compressor passage between the low-pressure line and the high-pressure line. The most common compressor isolates a part of the working fluid in a variable volume chamber (variable capacity chamber) and increases the pressure by reducing the volume at the same mass ratio. This is the compression process. The reciprocating compressor shown in FIG. 1 of the present application is one of the most widely spread concepts, and the variable volume chamber is configured using the arrangement and structure of a piston and a cylinder. The piston alternately changes its position between a downward movement that increases the volume of the chamber and an upward movement that decreases the volume of the chamber. This is the origin of the term reciprocating compressor.

[0004] Automatic vane valves are used to control the intake and discharge flow rates. These vane valves are generally made of thin steel plates, with a movable end attached to the gas flow path hole, functioning as embedded beams. Automatic vane valves eliminate the need for actuator devices that respond to changes in gas pressure and flow rate.

[0005] The intake stroke requires at least one hole and valve assembly, and the discharge stroke requires another hole and valve assembly. The first stage of the compression cycle is called the intake stroke, which begins when the pressure in the cylinder chamber decreases due to the downward movement of the piston. When the pressure reaches below the low line pressure, a positive pressure difference is created at the valve, causing the valve to open and gas to enter the cylinder chamber, and the gas flow also plays a role in keeping the valve open. This stroke is maintained until the piston reaches its maximum displacement position (known as lower neutral). At this point, intake stops and the valve returns to the resting position. The second stage begins as the piston moves upward. The second stage performs compression. At this stage, both the intake and discharge valves are in the resting position, separating the chamber from the cylinder. The compression stroke ends when the cylinder pressure reaches the high line pressure. A positive pressure difference then acts on the discharge valve, releasing the airflow and initiating the discharge stroke, which ends when the piston reaches the peak of its upward movement (known as top dead center). When the piston is at top dead center, the airflow that maintains the valve stops, and the valve returns to its resting position. This completes the entire compressor cycle, and a new cycle begins with the descent stroke.

[0006] The gas passage opening is made of a rigid plate called a valve plate, on which the intake valve and discharge valve are mounted. The discharge valve is fitted with an opening limiting device called a valve stop. The discharge valve and valve stop are fitted with a chamber called a cylinder cover that receives the gas discharged at high pressure. The assembly of these parts is called a head, and is usually mounted on top of a piston cylinder structure. In addition, sealing members called joints and gaskets are used (or provided) at the interface between the cylinder cap and the valve plate.

[0007] Because compressors are subjected to prolonged operation and various operating conditions, the dynamically operating valves are repeatedly subjected to loads over extended periods. Therefore, such components (valves) require specific reliability, such as wear resistance. Since the components that perform periodic opening and closing movements have a layered structure (arranged in stacks), friction is generated in the choking region of the valve, and the materials related to bending fatigue wear down, leading to fracture and failure. If a valve fractures (breaks), it can no longer seal the hole in the gas passage, making it impossible to isolate the gas canister (gas container) in the cylinder chamber, and ultimately preventing the compression stroke from being performed. Valve failure means that the compressor's function is completely lost. Therefore, valves have been improved to eliminate wear and ensure the compressor's lifecycle (appropriate lifespan).

[0008] The current state of technology has the structure of a reciprocating compressor valve disclosed in U.S. Patent US10174756. Such a structure comprises at least one discharge valve, at least one auxiliary discharge valve, and at least one valve stop, wherein the discharge valve comprises at least one clamp end, at least one handling end, and at least one bending region, and the valve stop has at least one support region enclosed by at least one end. According to the technical proposal of U.S. Patent US10174756, the bending region of the main valve and the end of the support region of the valve stop are offset in the longitudinal direction, and the dimension relating to the range defined between the starting point of the fixed base and the starting point of the bending region of the main valve is larger than the dimension relating to the range defined between the starting point of the support region and the end of the valve stop. Furthermore, according to the technical proposal of U.S. Patent US10174756, the auxiliary valve is positioned between the main valve and the valve stop and acts on the main valve as additional rigidity during the opening and closing process of the valve. This auxiliary valve creates a rigid interface in the fixed region between the discharge valve and the valve stop section. Therefore, although the fixed ends of the main valve, the auxiliary valve, and the support regions of the valve stop section are juxtaposed, the bending regions of the main valve and the auxiliary valve are offset in the longitudinal direction.

[0009] The valve structure for a reciprocating compressor as described in U.S. Patent US10174756 is shown in Figures 2 and 3 of this application.

[0010] While the valve structure for a reciprocating compressor described in U.S. Patent US10174756 achieves all the proposed objectives, it has been found that the main valve, when positioned on its upper surface by a valve stop or auxiliary valve, tends to experience friction in its bending region. This friction is particularly detrimental during long-life cycles in high-frequency compressor operation, regardless of whether the choking interface of the main valve is with a valve stop or auxiliary valve. This is because these cycles impart repeated friction to the main valve, accelerating wear in its bending region.

[0011] Furthermore, the occurrence of wear in the bending region of the main valve in the reciprocating compressor valve structure described in U.S. Patent US10174756 is related to fluctuations in the clamping force in the choking region, as a decrease or excessive increase in force in the choking region of the main valve results in a high coefficient of friction between components, leading to a localized increase in stress due to the combined stress of fixing and bending of the main valve. Therefore, in order to extend the service life of the reciprocating compressor valve structure described in U.S. Patent US10174756, it is necessary that the force in the choking region of the main valve has a suitable range with low fluctuation. However, the magnitude of this force during the choking process is dependent on machine variability, and therefore, a highly variable force may be acting.

[0012] The reciprocating compressor valve structure described in U.S. Patent US10174756 consists of modular components and does not involve means for securing the head; however, it has been verified that the same identified and modifiable features also apply to structures using integrated components that are directly related to means for securing the head.

[0013] This means that the same improvements identified in the reciprocating compressor valve structure shown in U.S. Patent US10174756 are also observed in the reciprocating compressor valve structure presented in U.S. Patent US6929456, which has components (main valve and valve stop) directly related to the reciprocating compressor head fixing means. For quick reference, the structure of the reciprocating compressor valve shown in U.S. Patent US6929456 is shown in Figure 4 of this application. [Overview of the Initiative] [Problems that the invention aims to solve]

[0014] In this sense, in view of the problems arising from the rigid interface at the interface between the main valve and its fixing means (auxiliary valve, valve stop unit, etc.), as observed in the structure of reciprocating compressor valves shown in the prior art, the main objective of the present invention is to disclose a reciprocating compressor head structure that can eliminate the occurrence of frictional wear in the bending region of the discharge valve.

[0015] Furthermore, an additional objective of the present invention is to present a reciprocating compressor head structure in which the general fastening between parts is simplified and performed through the same alignment reference system for the parts.

[0016] When an auxiliary valve is used, two alternative embodiments are presented with the aim of eliminating wear on both the main valve and the auxiliary valve. [Means for solving the problem]

[0024] In this alternative embodiment, at least one interface blade having at least one mounting hole is also provided. [0025] Furthermore, the interface (contact) between the stationary end of the discharge valve blade operating valve and the stationary end of the auxiliary valve operation auxiliary valve is completely effected by the interface blade. More specifically, the interface between the stationary end of the discharge valve blade operating valve and the stationary end of the auxiliary valve blade of the auxiliary operating valve is completely effected by the mass portion of the interface blade. Further, the bending portion of the operating valve of the discharge valve blade does not contact the auxiliary valve blade.

[0026] According to a second alternative embodiment of the present invention, the reciprocating compressor head structure includes, in addition to the components present in the first alternative embodiment, at least one interface blade provided with at least one mounting hole and at least one additional interface blade provided by at least one mounting hole. The interface blade is disposed between the discharge valve blade and the auxiliary valve blade, and the additional interface blade is disposed between the auxiliary valve blade and the stop blade.

[0027] In this alternative embodiment, both the interface blade and the additional interface blade are made of a flexible material. The interface blade has at least one mass portion that abuts against the stationary end of the operating valve of the discharge valve blade, and at least one hollow portion that faces the moving end and the bending region of the operating valve of the discharge valve blade. [0040] In view of the object of the present invention, a reciprocating compressor head structure will be described, and a preferred embodiment thereof is shown in Figures 5, 6, and 7.

[0041] According to this preferred embodiment, the reciprocating compressor head structure consists of a valve plate 1, a discharge valve blade (a thin plate member having the function of a discharge valve) 2, an interface blade 3, a stop blade 4, a cylinder cap 5, an assembly part 6, and a suction valve blade 7.

[0042] Preferably, the reciprocating compressor head structure of this embodiment includes at least one seal joint.

[0043] Thus, the valve plate 1 consists of a rigid, rectangular plate used to close the free end of a compression cylinder (not shown) of a reciprocating compressor (not shown). Furthermore, the valve plate 1 has four operating holes 11 (two discharge holes and two suction holes) arranged within its area, and four mounting holes 12 arranged at each of its four ends.

[0044] Furthermore, the discharge valve blade 2 consists of a thin, square-shaped metal blade having two operating valves 21 and four mounting holes 22. Similar to conventional valve blades, each operating valve 21 has a stationary end 211, a moving end 212, and a bent portion 213 positioned between the stationary end 211 and the moving end 212. Also, similar to conventional valve blades, the mounting holes 22 are located at the ends (corners) of the body of the discharge valve blade 2.

[0045] Similarly, the stop blade 4 is composed of a square metal blade of medium thickness (usually 1 mm to 3 mm). The thickness of the stop blade 4 is intermediate between the thickness of the valve blade 1 (1.9 mm to 4 mm) and the thickness of the discharge valve blade 2 (0.077 mm to 0.503 mm). Two valve stop sections 41 are provided, and four mounting holes 42 are provided. Furthermore, most of the area of the stop blade 4 is leaked. In any case, according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, each of the valve stop sections 41 has an end-of-stroke rib 411. Furthermore, similar to conventional stop blades, the mounting holes 42 are located at the ends (corners) of the body of the stop blade 4.

[0046] Similarly, the cylinder cover 5 has a metal monoblock with internal volume (internal space, not shown) and a flange 51 for receiving (inserting, mounting) an assembly 6 having screws or equivalent elements.

[0047] Furthermore, similarly, the suction valve vane 7 consists of a rectangular metal blade of the same thickness as the discharge valve, and has two operating valves 71 and four mounting holes 72. Similar to conventional valve blades, each operating valve 71 consists of a stationary end, a moving end, and a bent portion located between the stationary end and the moving end. Furthermore, similar to conventional valve blades, the mounting holes 72 are located at the ends (corners) of the body of the suction valve blade 7.

[0048] The core of the present invention lies in using the interface blade 3 to avoid frictional wear in the bent portion (bent region) 213 of the operating valve 21, utilizing the interaction between the discharge valve blade 2 and the interface blade 3, and utilizing the interaction between the stop portion blade 4 and the interface blade 3.

[0049] The interface blade 3 is a thin blade made of a flexible (flexible) material. This flexible material is, for example, a compound made of synthetic fibers, elastomers (hydraulic carboard), cellulose, polymer compounds (engineering plastics), and metals (such as copper or aluminum). In this sense, the interface blade 3 needs to be made of a more ductile, i.e., "softer" material than the material used to manufacture the discharge valve blade 2 and the stop blade 4.

[0050] As shown in Figures 5, 6, and 7, the interface blade 3 has a rectangular shape, and four mounting holes 31 are formed at the end of its main body area.

[0051] In addition to having an outer circumferential contour corresponding to (fitting) the contour of the seal joint, the interface blade 3 has two mass portions 32 that abut (oppose) the stationary end 211 of the operating valve 21 of the valve blade 2, and a large hollow portion 33 that opposes the moving end 212 and the bent portion 213 of the operating valve 21 of the valve blade 2.

[0052] On the other hand, as shown in Figure 7, the interface blade 3 is positioned between the valve blade 2 and the stop blade 4. In this sense, the interface (contact) between the stationary end 211 of the operating valve 21 of the valve blade 2 and the valve stop portion 41 of the stop blade 4 is completely formed by the interface blade 3. More specifically, the interface between the stationary end 211 of the operating valve 21 of the valve blade 2 and the valve stop portion 41 of the stop blade 4 is completely formed by the mass portion 32 of the interface blade 3.

[0053] As a result, the stationary end 211 and the bent portion 213 of the operating valve 21 of the discharge valve blade 2 do not physically come into contact with the stop portion blade 4.

[0054] Furthermore, considering that the interface blade 3 is positioned between the discharge valve blade 2 and the stop blade 4, the bent portion 213 of the operating valve 21 of the valve blade 2 also does not come into contact with the stop blade 4.

[0055] In connection with the assembly and fastening of the components described herein, as shown in Figure 5, the mounting holes of the discharge valve blade 2, interface blade 3, and stop blade 4 are aligned with each other by the assembly component 6.

[0056] By using (positioning) a flexible interface blade 3 between two rigid blades, friction in the bending region (bend) of the operating valve is reduced. This is because the mass portion of the interface blade is easily deformed in accordance with the movement of the bending region of the operating valve, preventing the operating valve from making direct physical contact with the stop blade, and consequently reducing the tension of the discharge valve in the bending region defined by the mass portion of the interface blade.

[0057] Figures 8 and 9 show a first alternative embodiment of the present invention. In this alternative embodiment, in addition to all the minor components (valve plate, cylinder cover, assembly parts, suction valve blade) and all the essential components (discharge valve blade 2, interface blade 3, stop blade 4) previously described in the preferred embodiment of the present invention, an auxiliary valve blade 8 is provided. The auxiliary valve blade 8 consists of a thin, square-shaped metal blade having two auxiliary operating valves 81 and four mounting holes 82.

[0058] Considering that the auxiliary operating valve 81 of the auxiliary valve blade 8 is basically the same as the operating valve 21 of the discharge valve blade 2, each auxiliary operating valve 81 of the auxiliary valve blade 8 is also composed of a stationary end 811, a moving end 812, and a bent portion 813 positioned between the stationary end 811 and the moving end 812.

[0059] In this sense, the auxiliary control valve is positioned and designed to buffer the movement of the control valve 21 of the discharge valve blade 2.

[0060] In the preferred embodiment of the present invention described above, the interface blade 3 was positioned between the discharge valve blade 2 and the stop blade 4. However, in the first alternative embodiment, the interface blade 3 is positioned between the discharge valve blade 2 and the auxiliary valve blade 8. The stop blade 4 is positioned on top of (in contact with) the auxiliary valve blade 8.

[0061] Except for the provision of an auxiliary valve blade 8 (between the interface blade 3 and the stop blade 4), the details of the assembly and fixing of the components described herein are similar to the details of assembly and fixing shown in the preferred embodiment of the present invention.

[0062] The primary objective of this first alternative embodiment is to reduce friction at the bends of the operating valve of the discharge valve blades caused by the use of an auxiliary operating valve that works in cooperation with the operating valve to control and dampen the movement of the operating valve.

[0063] Figures 10 and 11 show a second alternative embodiment of the present invention. In this alternative embodiment, in addition to all the minor components (valve plate, cylinder cover, assembly parts and suction valve blade) and all the essential components mentioned and described above (discharge valve blade 2, interface blade 3, stop blade 4 and auxiliary valve blade 8) in the first alternative embodiment of the present invention, an interface blade 3' is also provided, which is positioned between the auxiliary valve blade 8 and the stop blade 4.

[0064] Therefore, the additional interface blade 3' is similar to the interface blade 3 and thus has four mounting holes 31' located at the end of its main body region, two mass portions 32' that abut (oppose) the fixed end of the auxiliary operating valve 81 of the auxiliary valve blade 8, and a large hollow portion 33' that opposes the moving end and the bent portion (bending region) of the auxiliary operating valve 81 of the auxiliary valve 8, and has a rectangular shape.

[0065] Furthermore, in this alternative embodiment, the interface blade 3 positioned between the discharge valve blade 2 and the auxiliary valve blade 8 plays a role in reducing friction in the bent portion of the operating valve of the discharge valve blade. Additionally, the additional interface blade 3' positioned between the auxiliary valve blade 8 and the stop blade 4 plays a role in reducing the final friction in the bent region of the auxiliary operating valve of the auxiliary valve blade 8.

[0066] Although the present invention has been described in relation to certain preferred embodiments, the disclosure of the present invention is not intended to limit itself to such specific embodiments. Rather, it is intended to cover all possible alternatives, modifications, changes, and equivalents within the spirit and technical scope of the invention, as defined by the appended claims.
