Abstract

The feeding system comprises a feeding device 300 for feeding the longitudinally extending wire- or tube-shaped workpiece 110 to the turning machine and a measuring unit. The feeding device comprises a receiving device 330 for receiving a workpiece stock 381 in the form of a coil and a straightening system 400 connected downstream of the receiving device with two adjustable roller straightening devices 400-1, 400-2 connected in series with differently oriented straightening planes for straightening the workpiece before it enters the transforming machine. The measuring unit 350 is used to measure the residual curvature in the straightened wire- or tube-shaped straightening material that has passed through the straightening system 400 of the feeding device 300 and to determine measurement data representative of the residual curvature of the straightened material. The feeding system further comprises a cutting device 370 for separating rod-shaped sections 110-A of predeterminable length from the straightening material that has passed through the straightening system 400. The measuring unit 350 has a measuring device 520 for receiving in a measuring position a rod-shaped section 110-A of the straightening material that has passed through the straightening system, each section being separated from the straightening material, and is configured for straightening plane-specific measurements, which allow the curvature components represented by the measurement data to be associated with the various straightening planes of the roller straightening device.
