Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a crescent lock that can be used as a replacement part for a crescent lock attached to a sash as a locking device.
Background Art
[0002] Since the crescent lock attached to the sash as a locking device is manufactured according to the sash, its size and the like are different depending on the sash manufacturer. Therefore, when the crescent lock is damaged after long-term use, it is necessary to replace it with a new one, but it has been difficult to use anything other than the product specified by the sash manufacturer for the above reasons.
[0003] In order to address this problem, the applicant of the present application previously proposed a crescent lock that can be used as a replacement part for a crescent lock whose size and the like are different depending on the sash manufacturer (see Patent Documents 1-2).
[0004] This crescent lock uses the crescent receiver attached to the sash as it is, and has, for example, the structure described below shown in FIG. 3 so that it can be used as a replacement part for the damaged crescent lock. · The screw insertion hole 11 of the pedestal 1 is formed as a long hole so that the screw holes formed in the sash for attaching the crescent lock to the sash can be used as they are. Thereby, the position adjustment in the Y direction of the crescent 4 provided on the handle 3 becomes possible. · A sawtooth groove 12 is formed in the width direction of the pedestal 1, and the handle base 2 is slidably inserted into the sawtooth groove 12 and fixed by a fixing member 13. Thereby, the position adjustment in the X direction of the crescent 4 provided on the handle 3 becomes possible. A handle 3 equipped with a crescent 4 is attached to a handle base 2 positioned on a base 1. The handle 3 is rotatably fixed to the handle base 2 at its tip 51, and the male threaded portion 52 is screwed into a female threaded portion 31 formed on the handle 3 via a screw 5, allowing it to swing and move in the axial direction of the screw 5 by rotating the screw 5. This makes it possible to adjust the position of the crescent 4 on the handle 3 in the Z direction.
[0005] Incidentally, this crescent lock had a problem where, if the screw 5 used to adjust the position of the crescent 4 on the handle 3 in the Z direction was rotated too far counterclockwise from the state shown in Figure 3, a pulling force would act on the screw 5, damaging the crimped portion 51b that rotatably fastened the tip 51 of the screw 5 to the handle base 2 via a washer 51a, causing the screw 5 to come out and the crescent lock to break. [0006] [Patent Document 1] Publication number 2-43980 [Patent Document 2] Special Publication No. 7-65414 [Overview of the project] [Problems that the invention aims to solve]
[0007] In view of the problems of the above-mentioned crescent lock, the present invention aims to provide a crescent lock in which the screw used to adjust the position of the crescent in the Z direction on the handle does not come loose even if it is rotated too much. [Means for solving the problem]
[0008] To achieve the above objective, the crescent lock of the present invention is characterized in that a handle equipped with a crescent is attached to a handle base placed on a base, with the tip of the handle base rotatably fixed to the handle base, and the crescent lock is attached so as to be swingable and so as to be movable in the axial direction of the screw by rotating the screw, via a screw that has a male threaded portion screwed into a female threaded portion formed on the handle, wherein a free-spinning portion without a male thread is formed at the tip of the screw that screws into the female threaded portion formed on the handle.
[0009] In this case, the screw can be rotatably fixed to the handle base by attaching a push nut to its tip. [Effects of the Invention]
[0010] According to the crescent lock of the present invention, by forming a free-spinning portion without a male thread at the tip of the screw that engages with the female thread formed on the handle, even if the screw used to adjust the position of the crescent on the handle in the Z direction is rotated too much, the screw will spin freely, preventing damage to the crescent lock caused by the screw coming loose. [Brief explanation of the drawing]
[0011] [Figure 1] This is an overall cross-sectional view showing one embodiment of the Crescent Tablet of the present invention. [Figure 2] The components of the crescent lock are shown, with (a1) being a side view of the screw, (a2) being a rear view of the screw, (b1) being a front view of the washer, and (b2) being a side view of the washer. [Figure 3] The image shows a conventional crescent lock, with (a) being a front view, (b) an overall cross-sectional view, (c1) a side view of the screw, and (c2) a rear view of the screw. [Modes for carrying out the invention]
[0012] Hereinafter, embodiments of the crescent lock of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
[0013] Figure 1 shows one embodiment of the Crescent Tablet of the present invention. This crescent lock is designed so that a handle 3 equipped with a crescent 4 is pivotably attached to a handle base 2 placed on a base 1. Like conventional crescent locks, it has the structure described below so that it can be used as a replacement part for crescent locks whose size and other specifications vary depending on the sash manufacturer. - To allow the screw holes already formed in the sash to be used for attaching the crescent lock to the sash, the screw insertion holes 11 in the base 1 are formed as elongated holes. This makes it possible to adjust the position of the crescent 4 attached to the handle 3 in the Y direction. A dovetail groove 12 is formed in the width direction of the base 1, and the handle base 2 is slidably fitted into the dovetail groove 12 and fixed by a fixing member 13. This makes it possible to adjust the position of the crescent 4 on the handle 3 in the X direction.
[0014] Furthermore, this crescent lock is designed so that a free-spinning portion 53, which does not have a male thread, is formed at the tip of the screw 5 that engages with the female thread portion 31 formed on the handle 3. By forming a free-spinning portion 53 on the screw 5 that does not have a male thread, even if the screw 5 used to adjust the position of the crescent lock 4 on the handle 3 in the Z direction is rotated too far counterclockwise from the state shown in Figure 1, the screw 5 will spin freely, preventing any force from being applied to the screw 5 in the pulling direction, and thus preventing damage to the crescent lock caused by the screw 5 coming loose.
[0015] Thus, even if the screw 5 is rotated too much, the screw 5 rotates freely, and no pulling force acts on the screw 5. Therefore, in this embodiment, instead of the caulking portion 51b formed to rotatably fix the tip 51 of the screw 5 to the handle base 2 through the washer 51a in the conventional crescent wrench, a push nut 6 is attached to the tip 51 of the screw 5. Thereby, the operation of forming the caulking portion 51b, which is required to rotatably fix the screw 5 to the handle base 2, can be omitted, and the assembly work of the crescent wrench can be simplified.
[0016] And even if a free-rotation portion 53 without a male thread is formed at the tip of the screw 5, when the screw 5 at the free-rotation position is rotated clockwise, the male thread portion 52 of the screw 5 is screwed into the female thread portion 31 formed on the handle 3, so that the Z-direction position adjustment of the crescent 4 provided on the handle 3 can be performed.
[0017] Note that the screw 5 is provided with a washer 8 having a convex portion 8a that fits into a concave portion 54a formed on the seating surface of the head 54 of the spring 7 and the screw 5 as a loosening prevention mechanism.
[0018] As described above, the crescent wrench of the present invention has been described based on its embodiments. However, the present invention is not limited to the configurations described in the above embodiments, and the configuration can be appropriately changed without departing from the gist thereof.
Industrial Applicability
[0019] Since the crescent wrench of the present invention has the characteristic that the screw for adjusting the Z-direction position of the crescent provided on the handle does not come off even if the screw is rotated too much, it can be suitably used for applications of crescent wrenches including crescent wrenches that can be used as replacement parts for crescent wrenches having different sizes, etc. by sash manufacturers, and crescent wrenches provided with screws for adjusting the Z-direction position of the crescent provided on the handle.
