To solve the problem in which: a moving region of a wiping member needs to be secured at the outside of an ink discharge region and therefore a device is easily increased in size in a moving direction of the wiping member in a configuration in which the wiping member moves in a direction along an ink discharge surface of an ink discharge head.SOLUTION: A liquid discharge device includes: a liquid discharge head which discharges liquid to a medium; a wiping mechanism which wipes a liquid discharge surface of the liquid discharge head and has a wiper section for wiping the liquid discharge surface by moving in a direction along the liquid discharge surface; an electrical section which is positioned at a portion related to control of the device and has a substrate; and a power supply section to be a power supply source. A moving direction of the wiper section is a direction crossing a surface of the substrate.
