Abstract

The present invention relates to a device for producing hydrogen and oxygen gases from water, said device comprising a case forming a hydrolysis chamber designed to contain a volume of water, electrode means acting as cathode and anode, and gas separation means arranged in the hydrolysis chamber between the cathode and the anode, said gas separation means comprising permeable membrane segments suitable for preventing the produced hydrogen and oxygen gases from passing through said membrane segments and mixing together, said hydrolysis chamber being divided into a first part comprising the cathode and a second part comprising the anode, said first and second chambers being in fluid communication with respective tubes for hydrogen and oxygen gases. The present invention also relates to a system for achieving the same object, comprising at least one device as described above.
