Abstract

Examples disclosed herein relate to a reflectarray antenna for improved wireless communication coverage area. The reflectarray antenna for improved wireless communication applications includes an array of reflectarray cells including a first plurality of conductive elements configured to radiate a reflected radio frequency (RF) beam having a first phase shift in a first linear polarization and a second plurality of conductive elements configured orthogonal to the first plurality of conductive elements and configured to radiate a reflected RF beam having a second phase shift substantially equivalent to that of the first phase shift in a second linear polarization orthogonal to the first linear polarization. Other examples disclosed herein relate to methods of designing a reflectarray antenna and methods of performing pattern synthesis for a reflectarray antenna.
