AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing compressor terminal cover structures face challenges in ensuring waterproof and dustproof performance while complicating the welding operation between the outer shell and the upper lid, particularly in small compressors.

Method used

A terminal cover structure with a seal assembly comprising a substrate and sealing member, featuring first and second seals, is provided to enhance airtightness and reduce the size of the terminal plate, allowing for easier welding by minimizing interference with the welding torch.

Benefits of technology

The structure ensures waterproof and dustproof performance between the terminal cover and the upper lid, facilitating welding operations by reducing the size of the terminal plate and minimizing interference with the welding torch, even in small compressors.

Abstract

The present invention discloses a terminal cover structure 10 for a compressor 1, which includes a terminal cover 20 having a terminal cover opening 24, a seal assembly 40 provided below the terminal cover 20 and having a base plate 42 and a seal member 50, the seal assembly 40 covering the entire peripheral portion of the terminal cover opening 24, and a terminal plate 60 provided below the seal assembly 40 and welded onto the upper cover 3 of the compressor 1. The seal member 50 has a first seal 52 that seals between the terminal cover 20 and the base plate 42, and a second seal 54 that seals between the base plate 42 and the terminal plate 60.
