AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing door stoppers require cumbersome and time-consuming adjustments to switch between preventing door collision with walls and holding the door open, and positioning the magnet correctly for effective door holding is difficult, especially for elderly users.

Method used

A door stopper with a movable frame that alternates between a cushioning rubber for door stopping and a magnet for holding, using a movement limiting mechanism and phase setting member to facilitate easy switching and correct magnet orientation.

🎯Benefits of technology

Enables quick and effortless switching between door cushioning and magnetic holding, ensuring the magnet is perpendicular to the door plane for effective door retention, simplifying operations for all users including the elderly.

Abstract

To provide a door stopper capable o switching between a state in which a shock-absorbing rubber absorbs shock when fully opening a single swing door, and a state in which a magnet, whose rotation direction can be positioned such that a magnetic attracting direction is orthogonal to a magnetic face of a fully open door, holds the door in a fully open state.SOLUTION: In a door stopper 100, a shock-absorbing rubber 30 and a magnet 40 are attached to a movable frame 20 mounted on a base frame 10 erecting from a floor F. A movement restriction mechanism 50 is provided that restricts the movable frame 20 to a 90-degree reciprocal rotation. A phase setting member 60 extending from a base part of the base frame 10 is fixed on the floor F after setting a position of the movable frame 20 in a circumferential direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2A
