AI Technical Summary
Technical Problem
Conventional column base structures fail to effectively transmit axial forces acting on H-shaped steel braces to the base plate, leading to inefficiencies in load distribution.
Method used
A column base structure comprising a main body with a rectangular cross-section, a diaphragm, a base plate, and a bracket made of H-shaped steel, where the web of the bracket is joined to both the base plate and the main body, ensuring effective transmission of axial forces.
Benefits of technology
The configuration allows for efficient transmission of axial forces from the H-shaped steel brace to the base plate, enhancing load distribution and stability during earthquakes or similar events.

Abstract
To provide a column base structure for effectively transmitting the axial force acting to a brace of H-shaped steel to the column base part.SOLUTION: A column base structure comprises: a body part with the cylindrical shape of a rectangular cross section and with the lower end part of a steel pipe column jointed to the upper end part of the body part; a diaphragm provided to the upper end part of the body part; a base plate fitted to the lower end part of the body part and supporting the steel pipe column via the body part; and a bracket of H-shaped steel, with one end part of an upper flange jointed to the diaphragm, with one end part of a lower flange jointed to the base plate, with one end part of a web jointed to at least one of the base plate and the body part, and with a brace of H-shaped steel connected to the other end part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
