Personal care composition

Abstract

A personal care composition is disclosed that includes an extract of Moringa; an extract of a plant of the genus Cacao; and 0.00001-0.08% of a vitamin B3 compound by weight of the composition.

Claims

1. (a) Moringa extract; (b) Extracts of plants of the genus Cacao; and (c) 0.0001 to 0.06% by weight of a vitamin B3 compound in the composition A personal care composition comprising, A composition wherein the moringa extract is a combination of an extract having the INCI names Moringa pterigosperma seed extract and Moringa oleifera seed oil.

2. The composition according to claim 1, wherein a moringa extract is present in an amount of 0.000001 to 2% by weight of the composition.

3. The composition according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the extract of the cacao plant is selected from Theobroma cacao (cocoa) shell extract, Theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed extract, or a mixture thereof.

4. The composition according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the extract of the cacao plant is present in an amount of 0.000001 to 1% by weight, preferably 0.00001 to 0.005% by weight, of the composition.

5. The composition according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein the vitamin B3 compound is selected from niacin and niacinamide.

6. The composition according to any one of claims 1 to 5, wherein the vitamin B3 compound is present in an amount of 0.002% to 0.03% by weight of the composition.

7. The composition according to any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein the weight ratio of the moringa extract to the cocoa plant extract is in the range of 1:1 to 30000:

A composition according to any one of claims 1 to 7 for a method of relieving, suppressing and / or reducing at least one symptom selected from inflammation, gingivitis, periodontitis, dandruff and acne, comprising the step of applying the personal care composition according to any one of claims 1 to 7.

9. A composition according to any one of claims 1 to 7 for a method of inhibiting the release of at least one inflammatory cytokine, comprising the step of applying the personal care composition according to any one of claims 1 to 7.

10. A composition according to any one of claims 1 to 7, for use in relieving, suppressing and / or reducing at least one symptom selected from inflammation, gingivitis, periodontitis, dandruff, and acne.

11. A composition according to any one of claims 1 to 7, for use in inhibiting the release of at least one inflammatory cytokine.
