Abstract

To provide an activator for polymerization catalysts that makes it possible to produce ethylene polymer particles with a narrow molecular weight distribution and a narrow particle size distribution while achieving a high level of activity, and a catalyst for the production of ethylenic polymers comprising the same.SOLUTION: An activator for polymerization catalysts comprises organic modified clay particles, which are organic modified clay having organic aliphatic groups, characterized by a particle size distribution having at least two peaks, satisfying a) a median size of 8 μm or more and 20 μm or less, b) a main modal diameter of 10 μm or more and 25 μm or less, c) a second modal diameter of 3 μm or more and 4.5 μm or less, and d) the proportion of particles of 5 μm or less being 8 wt.% or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None

Claims

1.
