Abstract

To provide a vehicle control method and a vehicle, which are capable of suppressing an excessive shift in response to a slight vehicular-speed fluctuation and a shift shock associated with a rapid shift.SOLUTION: In a vehicle control method, a control part controls a stepless transmission that changes a drive source and a rotation speed of the drive source in accordance with a set vehicular speed of a set inter-vehicular distance, independently of an accelerator operation of a driver, thus executing vehicular speed control to maintain the set vehicular speed or set inter-vehicular distance. In the method, in a case where there is an intent of acceleration while the vehicular speed control is executed, the control part changes to a higher shift speed in comparison with a case where there is not intention of acceleration of a shift speed of the stepless transmission.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
