Abstract

This invention adopts a configuration element selection method that is indicated in constraint condition generation information, which is linked to system configuration information indicating a subject system configuration that is one of candidates to be subjected to system design involving repeated application of an implementation rule to a system configuration that includes an abstract configuration element, and which indicates a method for generating a constraint condition for a subject system configuration. In accordance with said method, this system design device: selects one or more configuration elements of a subject system configuration; applies the method for generating a constraint condition indicated in the constraint condition generation information or the system configuration information to information set to the selected configuration element(s), thereby generating a constraint condition for the subject system configuration; determines whether the subject system configuration can satisfy the constraint condition; and, when it is determined that the subject system configuration cannot satisfy the constraint condition, excludes the subject system configuration from the candidates to be subjected to system design, and applies the implementation rule to the candidates to be subjected to system design, thereby advancing design of the system.
