Description

Communication device and communication method

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a communication device and a communication method.

[0002] A communication system known as the fifth-generation mobile communication system (5G) is currently under consideration. The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), an international standardization organization, is studying the advancement of the 5G communication system from the perspectives of both the advancement of the LTE / LTE-Advanced system and New Radio (NR), a new method that is not necessarily backward compatible with the LTE / LTE-Advanced system (see, for example, Non-Patent Document 1).

[0003] Additionally, 3GPP has been studying support for V2X (vehicle to X) in the LTE system. Support for V2X has also been considered for NR, which can use wider bandwidths. Furthermore, in addition to V2X, further expansion of communications using sidelink (SL) is also being considered (see, for example, Non-Patent Document 2).

[0004] 3GPP TR 38.885 V16.0.0, Study on NR Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X)(Release 16), 2019-03RP-201385, “WID revision: NR sidelink enhancement”, LG Electronics, 3GPP TSG RAN Meeting #88e, Electronic Meeting, June 29 - July 3, 2020

[0005] However, there is room for improvement in the performance of sidelink communication.

[0006] Non-limiting examples of the present disclosure contribute to providing a communication device and a communication method that can improve the performance of sidelink communication.

[0007] A communication device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a control circuit that sets a transmittable period for information for coordinating resource usage between communication devices in sidelink communication based on a processing time until another communication device stops or starts transmission of a sidelink data channel reserved for use by the other communication device via a sidelink control channel in response to reception of the information; and a transmission circuit that transmits the information to the other communication device during the transmittable period.

[0008] These comprehensive or specific aspects may be realized as a system, an apparatus, a method, an integrated circuit, a computer program, or a recording medium, or may be realized as any combination of a system, an apparatus, a method, an integrated circuit, a computer program, and a recording medium.

[0012] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.

[0013] [Explanation of V2X] V2X is intended for communication between vehicles (V2V: Vehicle to Vehicle), between vehicles (V2I: Vehicle to Infrastructure), between vehicles (V2P: Vehicle to Pedestrian), and between vehicles (V2N: Vehicle to Network). In V2V, V2I, and V2P, terminals can communicate directly (e.g., at least one of transmission and reception) using a link called a sidelink (SL) or PC5 without going through a network with a base station. In V2N, communication is expected to occur via a link called Uu between a base station (e.g., gNB in NR, eNB in LTE) and a terminal.

[0014] The resources used for the sidelink are configured, for example, by a SL BWP (Bandwidth Part) and a resource pool. The SL BWP specifies the frequency band available for the sidelink and may be configured separately from the DL BWP and UL BWP configured between the base station and the terminal (Uu). The frequency band may overlap with the UL BWP.

[0015] The resource pool includes, for example, resources in the frequency direction and the time direction specified in the resources in the SL BWP. Multiple resource pools may be configured for one terminal. The frequency resources in the resource pool may be divided into units called subchannels, for example, and resource allocation may be configured for each subchannel. A subchannel may include multiple PRBs (Physical Resource Blocks).

[0016] [Description of Sidelink in NR] In NR V2X, support for unicast, groupcast, and broadcast is being considered for communication in the sidelink (e.g., at least one of transmission and reception).

[0017] Unicast, for example, assumes one-to-one transmission from a transmitting terminal (e.g., also referred to as transmitter UE or Tx UE) to a receiving terminal (e.g., receiver UE or Rx UE). Groupcast, for example, assumes transmission from a transmitting terminal to multiple receiving terminals included in a certain group. Broadcast, for example, assumes transmission from a transmitting terminal without specifying a receiving terminal. Note that UE is an abbreviation for User Equipment and is an example of a "terminal."

[0018] [Description of SL Channels] In the SL of NR, channel configurations such as a physical SL control channel (PSCCH), a physical SL shared channel (PSSCH), a physical SL feedback channel (PSFCH), and a physical SL broadcast channel (PSBCH) are considered.

[0019] The PSCCH is an example of a control channel in SL, and the PSSCH is an example of a data channel in SL. The PSFCH is an example of a channel used to transmit a feedback signal in SL, and the PSBCH is an example of a broadcast channel used for transmission that does not specify a receiving terminal. In the following description, the terms "signal" and "information" may be interpreted interchangeably depending on the context.

[0020] In the PSCCH, for example, a control signal (or control information) called sidelink control information (SCI) is arranged. The SCI includes information (or parameters) related to at least one of transmission and reception of the PSSCH, such as resource allocation information for a data signal (for example, the PSSCH).

[0021] As will be described later, the information content of the SCI may be divided (or classified or categorized) into, for example, first information (or control information) and second information (or control information). In other words, the SCI may include, for example, "first control information" and "second control information" related to the SL. The "second control information" may be considered an example of information related to the "first control information." The "first control information" and "second control information" may be referred to, for example, as "1st stage SCI" and "2nd stage SCI," respectively.

[0022] The 1st stage SCI may be allocated to a PSCCH, which is an example of a SL control channel, and the 2nd stage SCI may be allocated to a PSSCH, which is an example of a SL data channel. In other words, the SCI may be allocated in a distributed manner to the PSCCH and the PSSCH. Note that the term "allocation" may be interchangeable with other appropriate terms used by those skilled in the art, such as "mapping," "allocation," or "(mapping) pattern" (the same applies hereinafter).

[0023] In the PSSCH, for example, a data signal, or a data signal and an SCI (for example, a second stage SCI) are allocated.

[0024] In the PSFCH, for example, a feedback signal (e.g., hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback) for the PSSCH (e.g., a data signal) is arranged. The feedback signal may include, for example, a response signal indicating an ACK or a NACK (e.g., ACK / NACK information, also referred to as HARQ-ACK).

[0025] The feedback signal is assumed to be applied, for example, when the PSSCH is transmitted and received by unicast and groupcast. The ACK and NACK may be referred to as, for example, HARQ-ACK and HARQ-NACK, respectively.

[0026] For example, a broadcast signal that does not specify a receiving terminal is arranged in the PSBCH. The PSBCH is transmitted together with, for example, a sidelink primary synchronization signal (S-PSS) and a sidelink secondly synchronization signal (S-SSS), which are synchronization signals, and is also collectively referred to as an S-SSB (sidelink synchronization signal block).

[0027] [Description of SCI] A non-limiting example of information included in each of the 1st stage SCI and 2nd stage SCI is as follows:

[0028] <1st stage SCI> - Priority - 3 bits - Frequency resource assignment - Time resource assignment - 5 bits or 9 bits - Resource reservation period - [log2(N_(reservePeriod)] bits or 0 bits - DMRS pattern [x] bits or 0 bits - 2nd stage SCI format 2 bits - Beta_offset indicator 2 bits - Number of DMRS port 1 bit - Modulation and coding scheme - 5 bits - Additional MCS table indicator - 2 bits or 0 bits - PSFCH overhead indication - 1bit - Reserved - [sl-NumReservedBits] bits or 0 bits

[0029] <Second Stage SCI> For the second stage SCI, for example, two types of formats, SCI format 2-A and SCI format 2-B, may be prepared as follows.

[0030] <SCI format 2-A> - HARQ process number - [log_2(N_process)] bits - New data indicator - 1 bit - Redundancy version - 2 bits - Source ID - 8 bits - Destination ID - 16 bits - HARQ feedback enabled / disabled indicator - 1 bit - Cast type indicator - 2 bits - CSI request - 1 bit

[0031] <SCI format 2-B> - HARQ process number - [log_2(N_process)] bits - New data indicator - 1 bit - Redundancy version - 2 bits - Source ID - 8 bits - Destination ID - 16 bits - HARQ feedback enabled / disabled indicator - 1 bit - Zone ID - 12 bits - Communication range requirement - 4 bits

[0032] In V2X SL communication, a terminal checks the resource usage (or reservation status) by other terminals, for example, by sensing, and then determines the resources to be used for transmission. By dividing the information content of the SCI into two, the number of bits and size of the 1st stage SCI can be reduced, which has the advantage of making it possible to reduce the area used for sensing. The 1st stage SCI may be allocated, for example, to the PSCCH, and the 2nd stage SCI may be allocated, for example, to the PSSCH (or a part of the PSSCH). Note that "DMRS" is an abbreviation for demodulation reference signal, and "CSI" is an abbreviation for channel state information.

[0033] FIG. 1 shows an example of the allocation of PSCCH, PSSCH, and PSFCH within a slot. PSFCH may not be allocated depending on the settings. The number of symbols in PSSCH is variable depending on the settings. The allocation of 2nd stage SCI may be changed, for example, according to the allocation of DMRS in PSSCH (not shown). 1st stage SCI may be allocated, for example, from a frequency resource lower than the frequency resource to which PSSCH is allocated. One slot consists of, for example, 14 symbols (12 symbols when an extended CP (Cyclic Prefix) is used).

[0034] [Explanation of SL Modes] SL communication has, for example, two modes (for example, Mode 1 and Mode 2).

[0035] In Mode 1, for example, the base station determines (in other words, schedules) resources (for example, referred to as SL resources) to be used by terminals in SL.

[0036] In Mode 2, for example, a terminal selects (or determines) resources to be used for SL from resources in a preset resource pool. In other words, in Mode 2, the base station does not need to schedule resources for SL.

[0037] Mode 1 is assumed to be used in an environment where, for example, a base station and a terminal are connected and the terminal performing sidelink communication can receive instructions (or notifications) from the base station. On the other hand, in Mode 2, for example, the terminal can determine resources to use for SL even without instructions from the base station. Therefore, sidelink communication is possible, for example, with terminals under different operators or terminals outside the coverage area.

[0038] The side link has been described above.

[0039] [Overview of Communication System] A communication system according to this embodiment includes, for example, a terminal 200 as illustrated in Fig. 2 and a base station 100 as illustrated in Fig. 3. The number of terminals 200 may be one or more, but when focusing on sidelink communication, the number is two or more. Note that both the base station 100 and the terminal 200 are examples of communication devices.

[0040] 2 is a block diagram showing an example of the configuration of a portion of a terminal 200 according to an embodiment. The terminal 200 shown in FIG. 2 may include, for example, a control unit (or control circuit) 20A and a communication unit (or communication circuit) 20B.

[0041] From the viewpoint of the sidelink transmitting terminal 200, the control unit 20A determines and generates, for example, information for coordinating (or cooperatively controlling) resource use (or utilization) in sidelink communication between the terminals 200. This information is an example of information regarding inter-terminal cooperative use of sidelink resources, and may be understood as a type of control information transmitted or received between the terminals 200. Furthermore, for convenience, this information may be referred to as, for example, "inter-UE resource coordination information," "resource coordination control information," or "inter-UE coordinate information."

[0042] For example, the control unit 20A sets the transmittable period of the UE-to-UE resource coordination information based on the processing time until the transmission of the side link data channel (e.g., PSSCH) that another terminal 200 has reserved for use by using the side link control channel (e.g., PSCCH) is stopped or started in response to the reception of the UE-to-UE resource coordination information.

[0043] From the perspective of the transmitting terminal of the side link, the communication unit 20B transmits the inter-UE resource coordination information to another terminal 200. Therefore, from the perspective of the transmitting terminal 200 of the side link, the communication unit 20B may be understood as an example of a transmission circuit that transmits the inter-UE resource coordination information.

[0044] Moreover, from the perspective of the receiving terminal 200 of the side link, the communication unit 20B receives inter-UE resource coordination information transmitted by another terminal 200. Therefore, from the perspective of the receiving terminal 200, the communication unit 20B may be understood to correspond to an example of a receiving circuit that receives inter-UE resource coordination information.

[0045] For example, the communication unit 20B receives the inter-UE resource coordination information during a period based on a processing time until transmission of the PSSCH reserved for use by the PSCCH is stopped or started in response to reception of the inter-UE resource coordination information. Furthermore, from the perspective of the sidelink receiving terminal, the control unit 20A determines resources to be used for sidelink communication (e.g., transmission) based on the inter-UE resource coordination information received by the communication unit 20B. For example, the control unit 20A stops or starts transmission of the PSSCH based on the received inter-UE resource coordination information.

[0046] [Configuration of base station 100] Fig. 3 is a block diagram showing an example configuration of base station 100 according to an embodiment. As shown in Fig. 3, base station 100 includes, for example, an inter-UE resource adjustment information setting unit 101, an error correction coding unit 103, a modulation unit 104, a transmission unit 106, a reception unit 107, a demodulation unit 108, and an error correction decoding unit 110.

[0047] The UE-to-UE resource coordination information setting unit 101 determines whether or not to cause the terminal 200 to transmit UE-to-UE resource coordination information based on a use case (not shown) and information reported from the terminal 200, such as the characteristics or capabilities of the terminal 200.

[0048] When the inter-UE resource coordination information setting unit 101 determines to have the terminal 200 transmit inter-UE resource coordination information, it outputs information regarding the transmission setting of the inter-UE resource coordination information to the error correction coding unit 103, for example, as signaling of an upper layer (e.g., RRC).

[0049] In this example, information to be transmitted in a higher layer (for example, RRC) is generated in inter-UE resource coordination information configuration section 101, and transmission of inter-UE resource coordination information is configured for terminal 200. However, this configuration may be, for example, a configuration in the application layer called pre-configured, or may be configured in advance in a SIM (Subscriber Identity Module), and terminal 200 can operate even without configuration from base station 100.

[0050] The error correction coding unit 103 receives, for example, a transmission data signal (DL data signal) and upper layer signaling as input, performs error correction coding on the input signal, and outputs the coded signal to the modulation unit 104.

[0051] The modulation unit 104 performs modulation processing on the signal input from the error correction coding unit 103, for example, and outputs the modulated data signal to the transmission unit .

[0052] The transmitting unit 106 performs radio transmission processing such as up-conversion and amplification on the signal input from the signal allocating unit 105, and transmits the radio signal from an antenna to the terminal 200.

[0053] The receiving unit 107 receives, for example, a signal transmitted from the terminal 200 at an antenna, performs radio reception processing such as low-noise amplification and down-conversion on the signal, and outputs the received signal to the demodulating unit 108 .

[0054] The demodulation unit 108 performs demodulation processing on the input signal, for example, and outputs the resulting signal to the error correction decoding unit 110 .

[0055] The error correction decoder 110 decodes, for example, the signal input from the demodulator 108 to obtain a received data signal (UL data signal) from the terminal 200 .

[0056] In Mode 1, information about the SCI transmitted by terminal 200 on the sidelink may be generated in base station 100 (e.g., inter-UE resource coordination information setting unit 101 or another block not shown). The SCI generated by base station 100 may be transmitted to terminal 200 as a signal of an upper layer or a signal of a physical layer (e.g., a PDCCH (Physical Downlink Control Channel)).

[0057] 4, 5, and 6 are block diagrams respectively showing first, second, and third configurations of the terminal 200 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. In sidelink communication, the terminal 200 can function as either a transmitting terminal or a receiving terminal.

[0058] (First configuration of terminal 200) The terminal 200 of the first configuration illustrated in FIG. 4 is assumed to be, for example, a terminal that supports reception of UE-to-UE resource coordination information transmitted by at least other terminals 200, but does not support reception of signals of some channels (for example, PSSCH and PSCCH).

[0059] Such a terminal 200 can reduce power consumption, for example, because it does not need to perform sensing. For example, when a car and a smartphone (e.g., a pedestrian UE) communicate with each other, the smartphone has the advantage of being able to perform sidelink transmission without performing sensing. Note that "sensing" may be understood as receiving a 1st stage SCI transmitted by another terminal 200 during a certain time period.

[0060] In FIG. 4 , terminal 200 includes, for example, a receiving unit 201, a signal separating unit 202, an inter-UE resource adjustment information setting unit 205, an inter-UE resource adjustment information receiving unit 206, an error correction coding unit 207, a modulating unit 208, a signal allocating unit 209, and a transmitting unit 210.

[0061] The receiving unit 201 receives a signal via an antenna, performs radio reception processing such as low-noise amplification and down-conversion on the received signal, and then outputs the signal to the signal separating unit 202 .

[0062] The signal separating unit 202 separates inter-UE resource coordination information from the output signal of the receiving unit 201 and outputs the information to an inter-UE resource coordination information receiving unit 206, for example.

[0063] The inter-UE resource coordination information setting unit 205 sets the inter-UE resource coordination information receiving unit 206 to receive inter-UE resource coordination information, for example, by a higher layer signal from the base station 100 or another terminal 200, or by a pre-configured setting called "pre-configured."

[0064] For example, when the inter-UE resource adjustment information receiving unit 206 receives a signal notifying (or instructing) that transmission is not desirable (or not suitable) for resources allocated using the PSCCH, the inter-UE resource adjustment information receiving unit 206 requests the signal allocation unit 209 to reallocate resources.

[0065] The error correction coding section 207 receives, for example, a data signal to be transmitted, performs error correction coding on the data signal, and outputs the coded data signal to the modulation section 208 .

[0066] The modulation unit 208 modulates, for example, the signal input from the error correction coding unit 207 and outputs the modulated signal to the signal allocation unit 109 .

[0067] The signal allocating unit 209 allocates, for example, the signal input from the modulating unit 208 to resources to be used for transmission. When a resource reallocation is requested from the inter-UE resource adjustment information receiving unit 206, the signal allocating unit 209 changes the resource allocation in accordance with the request. The signal allocated to the resource is output to, for example, the transmitting unit 210.

[0068] The transmitting unit 210 performs radio transmission processing such as amplification and up-conversion on the signal input from the signal allocating unit 209, and transmits the radio signal from an antenna.

[0069] (Second Configuration of Terminal 200) Terminal 200 of the second configuration illustrated in Fig. 5 receives, for example, inter-UE resource coordination information from other terminals 200, and supports reception of signals of channels (for example, PSSCH and PSCCH) that are not supported for reception in the first configuration. Terminal 200 of the second configuration also supports, for example, sensing processing and data reception.

[0070] As illustrated in FIG. 5 , terminal 200 of the second configuration includes, for example, a receiving unit 201, a signal separating unit 202, a demodulating unit 203, an error correction decoding unit 204, an inter-UE resource coordination information setting unit 205, an inter-UE resource coordination information receiving unit 206, an error correction coding unit 207, a modulating unit 208, a signal allocating unit 209, a transmitting unit 210, a sensing unit 211, and an inter-UE resource coordination information generating unit 212.

[0071] The receiving unit 201 receives a signal via an antenna, performs radio reception processing such as low-noise amplification and down-conversion on the received signal, and then outputs the signal to the signal separating unit 202 .

[0072] For example, signal separating section 202 outputs a received data signal from the received signal to demodulating section 203, and outputs inter-UE resource coordination information to inter-UE resource coordination information receiving section 206. Furthermore, signal separating section 202 separates, for example, from the received signal, a 1st stage SCI allocated to the PSCCH and a 2nd stage SCI allocated to a part of the PSSCH, and outputs the 1st stage SCI and the 2nd stage SCI to sensing section 211 as sensing information.

[0073] The demodulation unit 203 performs demodulation processing on the signal (for example, a data signal) input from the signal separation unit 202 , and outputs the demodulated signal to the error correction decoding unit 204 .

[0074] The error correction decoder 204 decodes, for example, the demodulated signal input from the demodulator 203, and outputs the decoded signal as received data.

[0075] For example, when input is received from the inter-UE resource adjustment information setting unit 205, the sensing unit 211 grasps resource allocation information, such as which resources are reserved, based on the 1st stage SCI. Furthermore, the sensing unit 211 grasps at least one of a source ID and a destination ID based on the 2nd stage SCI, for example, and detects whether the resource is suitable for transmission.

[0076] The "resources are not preferred for transmission" means, for example, that a resource collision or an event such as mismatched transmission and reception timing between a transmitting terminal and a receiving terminal is detected. If such an event is not detected, it may be determined that the "resources are preferred for transmission." If the "resources are not preferred for transmission" is detected, the sensing unit 211 outputs a notification of the detection to the inter-UE resource coordination information generation unit 212, for example.

[0077] It should be noted that the terms "preferred / not-preferred" (for resource transmission) may be interchangeably read with other terms, such as "desirable / undesirable," "adapted / not-adapted," or "recommended / not-recommended."

[0078] 5 from the resource allocation information, the sensing unit 211 notifies the signal separation unit 202 of the resource information. This notification enables the signal separation unit 202 to separate the signal mapped to the resource notified by the sensing unit 211 from the received signal.

[0079] The UE-to-UE resource coordination information setting unit 205 sets the UE-to-UE resource coordination information receiving unit 206 and the sensing unit 211 to receive UE-to-UE resource coordination information, for example, by a higher layer signal from the base station 100 or another terminal 200, or by a pre-configured setting called "pre-configured."

[0080] For example, when the inter-UE resource adjustment information receiver 206 receives a signal notifying that transmission is not desirable for resources allocated using the PSCCH, the inter-UE resource adjustment information receiver 206 requests the signal allocation unit 209 to reallocate resources.

[0081] For example, when the UE-to-UE resource adjustment information generation unit 212 is notified by the sensing unit 211 that there is a resource allocation that is not preferable for transmission, the UE-to-UE resource adjustment information generation unit 212 generates UE-to-UE resource adjustment information for notifying other terminals 200 of the resources that are not preferable for transmission, and outputs the information to the signal allocation unit 209.

[0082] The signal allocating section 209 allocates, for example, the signal input from the modulating section 208 to resources to be used for transmission. Furthermore, the signal allocating section 209 changes the resource allocation when, for example, resource reallocation is requested from the inter-UE resource adjustment information receiving section 206. When inter-UE resource adjustment information is input from the inter-UE resource adjustment information generating section 212, the signal allocating section 209 allocates, for example, the inter-UE resource adjustment information to resources to be used for transmission to other terminals 200. The signal allocated to the resource is output, for example, to the transmitting section 210.

[0083] In the signal allocation unit 209, for example, the ACK / NACK information may be allocated to a feedback channel (for example, PSFCH) of the SL.

[0084] The error correction coding unit 207, the modulation unit 208, and the transmission unit 210 may be similar to the error correction coding unit 207, the modulation unit 208, and the transmission unit 210 already described with reference to FIG. 4, respectively.

[0085] (Third Configuration of Terminal 200) The terminal 200 of the third configuration illustrated in Fig. 6 supports, for example, sidelink communication with other terminals 200 as well as communication with the base station 100. The link between the base station 100 and the terminal 200 is also called, for example, a "Uu link." Communication using the Uu link may also be called, for example, Uu communication.

[0086] The configuration example shown in Fig. 6 may be understood to correspond to the second configuration shown in Fig. 5 in which the demodulator, error correction decoder, error correction encoder, and modulator are each configured as separate blocks for the Uu link and for the SL. In Fig. 6, blocks having the same reference numerals as those used in Fig. 5 may be understood to correspond to the blocks already described in Fig. 5.

[0087] 6 , terminal 200 includes, for example, a receiving unit 201, a signal separating unit 202, a Uu demodulating unit 203-1, an SL demodulating unit 203-2, a Uu error correction decoding unit 204-1, and an SL error correction decoding unit 204-2. Terminal 200 also includes, for example, an inter-UE resource adjustment information setting unit 205, an inter-UE resource adjustment information receiving unit 206, a sensing unit 211, and an inter-UE resource adjustment information generating unit 212. Terminal 200 also includes, for example, a Uu error correction coding unit 207-1, an SL error correction coding unit 207-2, a Uu modulation unit 208-1, an SL modulation unit 208-2, a signal allocation unit 209, and a transmitting unit 210.

[0088] The receiving unit 201 receives a signal via an antenna, performs radio reception processing such as low-noise amplification and down-conversion on the received signal, and then outputs the signal to the signal separating unit 202 .

[0089] The signal separation unit 202 separates, for example, the signals received by the receiving unit 201 into UE-to-UE resource coordination information, a Uu link signal, and an SL signal, outputs the UE-to-UE resource coordination information to the UE-to-UE resource coordination information receiving unit 206, and outputs the Uu link signal to the Uu demodulation unit 203-1.

[0090] Furthermore, signal separation section 202 separates, for example, a data portion addressed to terminal 200 in the PSSCH from the SL signal, and outputs the data portion to SL demodulation section 203-2. Furthermore, signal separation section 202 separates, for example, from the received signal, a 1st stage SCI allocated to the PSCCH and a 2nd stage SCI allocated to a part of the PSSCH, and outputs the 1st stage SCI and the 2nd stage SCI to sensing section 211 as sensing information.

[0091] The Uu demodulation unit 203-1 performs demodulation processing on the signal input from the signal separation unit 202, for example, and outputs the demodulated signal to the Uu error correction decoding unit 204-1.

[0092] The Uu error correction decoding unit 204-1 decodes the demodulated signal input from the Uu demodulation unit 203-1 and outputs the decoded signal. Of the decoded signals, for example, upper layer signaling is output to the inter-UE resource coordination information receiving unit 206.

[0093] The SL demodulation unit 203-2, for example, performs demodulation processing on the signal input from the signal separation unit 202, and outputs the demodulated signal to the SL error correction decoding unit 204-2.

[0094] The SL error correction decoding unit 204-2 decodes, for example, the demodulated signal input from the SL demodulation unit 203-2 and performs error detection, such as CRC, on the decoded signal. As a result of the error detection, a signal determined to be error-free is output as the SL received data signal.

[0095] Inter-UE resource coordination information setting section 205 sets inter-UE resource coordination information receiving section 206 and sensing section 211 to receive inter-UE resource coordination information, for example, by a higher layer control signal input from Uu error correction decoding section 204-1, a higher layer signal transmitted from another terminal 200, SIM settings, or application layer settings called pre-configured. Note that terminal 200 may use pre-configured information without receiving setting information for receiving inter-UE resource coordination information.

[0096] For example, when the inter-UE resource adjustment information receiver 206 receives a signal notifying that transmission is not desirable for resources allocated using the PSCCH, the inter-UE resource adjustment information receiver 206 requests the signal allocation unit 209 to reallocate resources.

[0097] The Uu error correction coding unit 207-1 receives, for example, a transmission data signal (UL data signal) of the Uu link, performs error correction coding on the transmission data signal, and outputs the coded signal to the Uu modulation unit 208-1.

[0098] The Uu modulation unit 208 - 1 modulates the signal input from the Uu error correction coding unit 207 - 1 , for example, and outputs the modulated signal to the signal allocation unit 209 .

[0099] The SL error correction encoding section 207-2 receives, for example, an SL transmission data signal (SL data signal), performs error correction encoding on the transmission data signal, and outputs the encoded signal to the SL modulation section 208-2.

[0100] The SL modulation section 208 - 2 modulates the signal input from the SL error correction coding section 207 - 2 , for example, and outputs the modulated signal to the signal allocation section 209 .

[0101] For example, when the UE-to-UE resource adjustment information generation unit 212 is notified by the sensing unit 211 that there is a resource allocation that is not preferable for transmission, the UE-to-UE resource adjustment information generation unit 212 generates UE-to-UE resource adjustment information for notifying other terminals 200 of the resources that are not preferable for transmission, and outputs the information to the signal allocation unit 209.

[0102] The signal allocation unit 209 allocates, for example, signals input from the Uu modulation unit 208-1 and the SL modulation unit 208-2 to resources to be used for transmission. Furthermore, the signal allocation unit 209 changes the resource allocation when, for example, the inter-UE resource adjustment information receiving unit 206 requests reallocation of resources.

[0103] When inter-UE resource adjustment information is input from inter-UE resource adjustment information generation section 212, signal allocation section 209, for example, allocates the inter-UE resource adjustment information to resources used for transmission to other terminals 200. The signals allocated to the resources are output to transmission section 210, for example.

[0104] In the signal allocation unit 209, for example, the ACK / NACK information may be allocated to a feedback channel (for example, PSFCH) of the SL.

[0105] The transmitting unit 210 performs radio transmission processing such as amplification and up-conversion on the input signal from the signal allocating unit 209, and transmits the radio signal from an antenna.

[0106] In the configuration illustrated in Figure 6, the demodulation unit, error correction decoding unit, error correction coding unit, and modulation unit are each individual blocks for the Uu link and SL, but some or all of them may be common blocks.

[0107] Furthermore, the inter-UE resource coordination information is not limited to being received as higher layer signaling in terminal 200. For example, the inter-UE resource coordination information may be configured in advance in a SIM, or may be configured in advance in terminal 200 by an application layer, which is called pre-configured.

[0108] [Embodiment 1] [Explanation of Inter-UE coordination] For example, as shown in FIG. 7, it is considered that inter-UE resource coordination information is transmitted from a first terminal (UE-A) to a second terminal (UE-B) (S102), and when UE-B selects resources to use for data transmission to UE-A (S103), it is possible to utilize the inter-UE resource coordination information received from UE-A.

[0109] For example, when UE-B is unable to perform sufficient sensing or when it is desired to reduce power consumption, UE-B can utilize the inter-UE resource coordination information received from UE-A to reduce the sensing frequency.

[0110] For example, UE-B may trigger or request UE-A to transmit inter-UE resource coordination information to UE-B in advance (S101). UE-B may determine resources to use for transmission based on the inter-UE resource coordination information received from UE-A, or may autonomously determine resources to use for transmission without using the inter-UE resource coordination information received from UE-A.

[0111] As a method of transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information, for example, the following three methods are considered: Type A: UE-A transmits to UE-B resources that are preferred for UE-B's transmission. Type B: UE-A transmits to UE-B resources that are not preferred for UE-B's transmission. Type C: UE-A transmits to UE-B information that UE-B's resources are in conflict with other resources.

[0112] The Type B resources that are not preferred for UE-B transmission may include resources that conflict with other resources, so the distinction between Type B and Type C is not necessarily clear. In this disclosure, Type B is classified as a case where resource conflict will occur in the future, and Type C is classified as a case where resource conflict has already occurred, but the distinction is not limited to this.

[0113] In the following description of the operation, the terminal 200 that transmits the inter-UE resource coordination information is referred to as UE-A, and the terminal 200 that receives the inter-UE resource coordination information is referred to as UE-B. When the inter-UE resource coordination information is transmitted so that it can be received by a specific terminal 200, the specific terminal 200 can receive the inter-UE resource coordination information.

[0114] When the inter-UE resource coordination information is transmitted so as to be receivable by a plurality of terminals 200, the inter-UE resource coordination information can be received by the plurality of terminals 200. Therefore, the number of UE-B that receives the inter-UE resource coordination information is not limited to one.

[0115] [Explanation of PSFCH Settings] HARQ ACK or NACK for SL communication can be notified by PSFCH. For example, the number of slots at which the PSFCH is allocated (in other words, the period during which the PSFCH can be transmitted) is determined by a parameter called sl-PSFCH-Period. For example, Fig. 8 shows an example in which sl-PSFCH-Period = 4 and the PSFCH is allocated every four slots.

[0116] Furthermore, a parameter sl-MinTimeGapPSFCH determines the number of slots after PSSCH reception in which a HARQ-ACK or NACK is transmitted in the PSFCH. Fig. 8 shows an example in which sl-MinTimeGapPSFCH = 2 and a HARQ-ACK or NACK is transmitted in the PSFCH two slots after PSSCH reception.

[0117] In this embodiment, it is desirable that the resource for UE-A to transmit inter-UE resource coordination information is a resource that does not collide with other resources. For example, it is assumed that terminal 200 in Rel. 16 does not know whether there are resources configured for terminal 200 in Rel. 17 or later.

[0118] Therefore, when inter-UE resource coordination information is set for terminal 200 in Rel. 17 or later, the resources for transmitting the inter-UE resource coordination information are resources that have little impact on terminal 200 in Rel. 16.

[0119] In this embodiment, the following resources (1), (2), and (3) are shown as examples (also see FIG. 9).

[0120] (1) The resource for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information is the same as the PSFCH symbol for transmitting HARQ-ACK or NACK. In this case, resource collision with the PSCCH and PSSCH can be avoided.

[0121] (2) The resource for transmitting the UE-to-UE resource coordination information is a frequency resource within a resource pool. For example, in Rel. 16, the number of physical resource blocks (PRBs) within a resource pool may not be a multiple of the number of PRBs included in a subchannel. In this case, the remaining PRBs are not used for resource allocation. If there are PRBs within the resource pool that are not included in a subchannel, these resources are allocated for transmitting the UE-to-UE resource coordination information.

[0122] (3) The resources for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information are resources outside the resource pool. Resources outside the resource pool are, for example, resources outside the resource pool for Rel. 16. However, the resources outside the resource pool may be resources within the resource pool for terminals 200 in Rel. 17 or later, or may be defined as resources outside the resource pool for terminals 200 in Rel. 17 or later but capable of transmitting and receiving.

[0123] [Resource Determination Method] Next, an example of a method for determining a time resource for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information will be described.

[0124] As candidates for time resources, resources that satisfy certain conditions (for example, parameters K1 and K2 described below), such as resources (1) to (3) illustrated in FIG. 9, may be set as candidate resources in advance.

[0125] Examples of configuration methods include pre-configuration according to specifications, pre-configuration in the SIM, configuration at the application layer called pre-configured, configuration at higher layers such as system information block (SIB) and other RRC called configured, configuration at MAC, and configuration at the physical layer by SCI.

[0126] When the same symbols as those of the PSFCH are used as candidate resources, new configuration of candidates for time resources may be the same as the resource candidate positions of the PSFCH. In the case of resources other than the PSFCH in the resource pool or outside the resource pool, candidates for time resources may be configured separately.

[0127] When Type B inter-UE resource coordination information is assumed, the determined candidate locations may be further narrowed down using, for example, the following two parameters K1 and K2.

[0128] K1: The minimum processing time required for UE-A to transmit inter-UE resource coordination information after receiving the PSCCH transmitted by UE-B. K2: The minimum processing time required for UE-B to stop transmission after receiving inter-UE resource coordination information.

[0129] The inter-UE resource coordination information may be transmitted during a period that begins after time K1 after the PSCCH is received and ends before a timing that is K2 hours earlier than the scheduled transmission timing of the PSSCH reserved by the PSCCH. In other words, the transmittable period for the inter-UE resource coordination information may be set based on K1 and K2.

[0130] In Type B, for example, if the PSSCH resources reserved by UE-B via the PSCCH are not suitable for transmission, UE-A may prompt UE-B to change the resources used for transmission by transmitting UE-to-UE resource adjustment information.

[0131] A candidate location for transmitting the UE-to-UE resource coordination information may be, for example, K1 hours after the PSCCH transmitted by UE-B and K2 hours before the scheduled transmission time of the PSSCH resource allocated (in other words, reserved) by UE-B.

[0132] The time units of K1 and K2 may be set to, for example, the number of symbols, the number of slots, or real time (e.g., several msec). The number of symbols and the number of slots may differ in real time depending on, for example, the subcarrier interval.

[0133] Furthermore, K1 may be set to a value longer than K2, for example. For example, it takes time for terminal 200 to receive the PSCCH and to demodulate and decode the 2nd stage SCI arranged in the PSSCH when identifying the destination. Furthermore, it also takes time for terminal 200 to generate and transmit inter-UE resource coordination information.

[0134] Therefore, it can be said that K1 is likely to take a longer time to process than K2, the processing time required from receiving the inter-UE resource coordination information to stopping the scheduled PSSCH transmission. However, K2 may be set to a value longer than K1. If a terminal 200 is expected to take a long time to perform the transmission stop processing, K2 may be set to a longer value depending on the time required for the transmission stop processing, or may be set to the same value as K1.

[0135] When UE-A determines the candidate location of the resource for transmitting the inter-UE resource coordination information, it uses the resource at the candidate location to transmit the inter-UE resource coordination information to, for example, UE-B. If there is no resource that satisfies the conditions K1 and K2, UE-A does not need to transmit the inter-UE resource coordination information.

[0136] Furthermore, when there are no resources that satisfy the conditions of K1 and K2, UE-A may transmit a HARQ-NACK to UE-B on the PSFCH instead of inter-UE resource coordination information. This operation may be understood to correspond to an operation of switching from Type B to Type C when there are no resources to transmit for Type B.

[0137] In the case of Type A, for example, the following K3 may be set instead of K2. Also, in the case of Type A, UE-A may decide resource allocation and transmit that information as inter-UE resource coordination information, in which case K1 does not need to be set. K3: Minimum time it takes for UE-B to start transmission after receiving inter-UE resource coordination information

[0138] The value of K3 may be the same as or different from the value of K2. For example, since UE-B generates data and starts transmitting the generated data after receiving the inter-UE resource coordination information, K3 may be set to a value longer than K2.

[0139] By setting K1 and K2 (or K1 and K3), it is possible to prevent UE-A from transmitting UE-to-UE resource coordination information that UE-B cannot process in time even if it receives it (for example, the process of stopping or starting the transmission of the PSSCH reserved by the PSCCH).

[0140] The times indicated by K1, K2, and K3 may be understood as buffer times. Furthermore, the times indicated by K1, K2, and K3 do not have to be the "minimum processing times," but may be, for example, the "maximum processing times" or the "average processing times" for multiple terminals 200.

[0141] K1, K2, and K3 may be individual to each terminal 200, or may be common to multiple terminals 200. The values of K1, K2, and K3 may be determined in advance, or may be dynamically set based on capability information of each terminal 200, for example.

[0142] Furthermore, the value of one of K1 and K2 (or K1 and K3) may be derived based on the value of the other. Furthermore, it is not necessary for both K1 and K2 (or K1 and K3) to be set, and only one (for example, K2 or K3) may be set.

[0143] [Operation Example] An operation example will be described below with reference to Fig. 10. Fig. 10 shows an example in which UE-B allocates PSSCH for slot #n and slot #n+19 by PSCCH in slot #n (n is an integer equal to or greater than 0). When UE-A detects, by sensing the PSCCH, that a resource reserved by another UE conflicts with a resource reserved by UE-B, UE-A transmits inter-UE resource coordination information to UE-B.

[0144] Although the case where a collision is detected has been described as an example, the inter-UE resource adjustment information may also be transmitted for other reasons or circumstances, such as a half duplex issue in which the destination terminal 200 is in a transmitting state and therefore does not receive, or resources where the reception quality is expected to be poor (for example, below a threshold).

[0145] Based on the conditions of K1 and K2, UE-A assumes (or judges or decides) that, for example, in FIG. 10, three slots, slot #n+6, slot #n+10, and slot #n+14, are candidate resources (1) that can be used for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information.

[0146] [Operation Example A1] In operation example A1, the earliest resource among multiple candidate resources is used to transmit inter-UE resource coordination information. In the example of Fig. 10, inter-UE resource coordination information is transmitted to UE-B in resource (1) of slot #n+6, which is the earliest among slot #n+6, slot #n+10, and slot #n+14.

[0147] In this case, UE-B, which receives the inter-UE resource coordination information, can quickly recognize that the resources it has reserved are not suitable for transmission, thereby reducing the delay associated with resource reselection. For example, if UE-B receives (or detects) the inter-UE resource coordination information in slot #n+6, it recognizes that the resources it has reserved conflict with the resources reserved by other UEs and can change the allocation of the resources reserved by UE-B. This change in resource allocation resolves the resource conflict, thereby improving the performance of SL communication.

[0148] [Operation Example A2] In operation example A2, for example, the latest resource among multiple candidate resources is used for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information. In the example of Fig. 10, among slot #n+6, slot #n+10, and slot #n+14, inter-UE resource coordination information is transmitted in resource (1) of slot #n+14.

[0149] In this case, even if a collision occurs between resources reserved by UE-B and resources reserved by another UE in a slot after slot #n+6, UE-B can recognize the occurrence of the collision from the inter-UE resource coordination information received in slot #n+14.

[0150] For example, if UE-B detects inter-UE resource coordination information in slot #n+14, it recognizes that the resources reserved by UE-B conflict with the resources reserved by other UEs and can change the allocation of the resources reserved by UE-B. By changing the resource allocation, the resource conflict can be resolved, thereby improving the performance of SL communication.

[0151] [Operation Example A3] In operation example A3, for example, UE-A arbitrarily selects a resource to be used for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information from among multiple candidate resources. In this case, it is possible to reduce the probability that the resource for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information will collide with other resources.

[0152] For example, if UE-A is scheduled to receive or transmit other resources in a candidate slot for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information, UE-A may be prevented from transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information.

[0153] In such a case, from among multiple candidate resources, for example, three candidate resources (1) of slot #n+6, slot #n+10, and slot #n+14 as shown in FIG. 10, UE-A can select resource (1) of a slot in which UE-A can transmit, and transmit inter-UE resource coordination information in resource (1) of the selected slot.

[0154] For example, UE-B detects (or monitors) whether inter-UE resource coordination information is transmitted in multiple slots. If inter-UE resource coordination information is detected in any slot, UE-B recognizes that the resources reserved by UE-B conflict with other resources and can change the resource allocation. By changing the resource allocation, the resource conflict can be resolved. Therefore, the performance of SL communication can be improved.

[0155] [Operation Example A4] In operation example A4, a resource to be used for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information is determined from among a plurality of candidate resources based on, for example, a predetermined calculation formula.

[0156] The calculation formula is shared between UE-A and UE-B. For example, resources to be used for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information may be determined by Mod (number of candidate resources, source ID) based on the number of candidate resources and the source ID of UE-B. By using a calculation formula (or rule) to determine resources to be used for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information, the probability that the resources for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information will collide with other resources can be reduced.

[0157] For example, if the number of candidate resources is "3" as shown in Fig. 10 and the Source ID of UE-B is "2", then Mod(3,2) = 1. Therefore, UE-A transmits inter-UE resource coordination information in resource (1) of slot #n+10, which is the first candidate among the 0th, 1st, and 2nd candidates.

[0158] When UE-B detects the inter-UE resource coordination information in slot #n+10, it recognizes that the resources reserved by UE-B conflict with other resources and can change the allocation of the resources reserved by UE-B. By changing the resource allocation, the resource conflict can be resolved, thereby improving the performance of SL communication.

[0159] As described above, by using the Source ID of UE-B in the calculation of resource determination, even if there are multiple terminals 200 that transmit inter-UE resource coordination information (in other words, terminals 200 corresponding to UE-A), the inter-UE resource coordination information is transmitted using the same resources, making it easy for UE-B to detect (or monitor).

[0160] Furthermore, when UE-A also transmits inter-UE resource coordination information to another UE other than UE-B (for example, UE-C, not shown), the probability that the inter-UE resource coordination information will be assigned to different resources for UE-B and UE-C increases, thereby improving the probability that both UE-B and UE-C will successfully receive inter-UE resource coordination information from UE-A.

[0161] [Modification] In the PSCCH, for example, in addition to the same slot as the PSCCH, resource allocation of two additional slots can be notified. For example, if the slot in which the PSCCH is transmitted is slot #n, the additional two slots may be freely selected from 31 slots from slot #n+1 to slot #n+31.

[0162] For example, as shown in Fig. 11, in the PSCCH of slot #n, a PSSCH resource of slot #n+19 and a PSSCH resource of slot #n+27 can be reserved. In this case, inter-UE resource coordination information may be transmitted individually in resource (1) of slot #n+19 and resource (1) of slot #n+27, or information for two PSSCH resources may be transmitted by one piece of inter-UE resource coordination information.

[0163] When transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information individually for different PSSCH resources, for example, the time slot of resource (1) for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information may be determined based on K1 and K2, with reference to the individually allocated PSSCH resources.

[0164] When transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information for two PSSCH resources together, for example, the time slot of resource (1) for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information may be determined based on K1 and K2, using the PSSCH resource of the earlier slot (slot #n+19 in the example of Figure 11) of the allocated PSSCH resources as a reference.

[0165] Furthermore, resources used for transmitting inter-UE resource adjustment information may be set across multiple slots, which may be consecutive slots or discontinuous slots.

[0166] A resource (2) consisting of multiple slots is represented by, for example, an index. For example, as shown in Fig. 12, from among indexes #0, #1, and #2 that satisfy K1 and K2, an index to be used for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information may be selected (or determined) according to any of the above-described operation examples A1 to A4.

[0167] For example, among the indexes #0, #1, and #2 that satisfy the conditions of K1 and K2, an earlier index may be selected in operation example A1, and a later index may be selected in operation example A2. Also, among the indexes #0, #1, and #2 that satisfy the conditions of K1 and K2, UE-A may select an arbitrary index in operation example A3, and an index may be selected using a calculation formula in operation example A4.

[0168] For example, UE-A may transmit inter-UE resource coordination information to UE-B in all or some of the slots among the multiple slots belonging to the selected index.

[0169] In addition, in the above-mentioned operation examples A1 to A4, if there is only one candidate resource (or index) that satisfies the conditions K1 and K2 (or K1 and K3), UE-A may determine that candidate resource (or index) as the resource (or index) to be used for transmitting UE-to-UE resource coordination information.

[0170] Furthermore, the operation examples A1 to A4 may be selectively applied (in other words, switched) in the terminal 200. For example, the applied operation examples A1 to A4 may be switched depending on differences in the priority or reliability of communication.

[0171] [Second Embodiment] In this embodiment, an example of determining a frequency resource for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information will be described.

[0172] For example, PRBs that can be used to transmit inter-UE resource coordination information may be set, and the resource for transmitting the inter-UE resource coordination information from those PRBs may be determined based on the Source ID of UE-B, the subchannel number of the PSSCH reserved by UE-B, or the subchannel number of the PSCCH on which UE-B transmitted the reservation information. This allows UE-A to determine the resource for transmitting the inter-UE coordination information.

[0173] [HARQ-ACK / NACK Resources] In the PSFCH, the resources for transmitting HARQ-ACK or NACK are set by a bitmap, for example, with the PRBs used for the PSFCH as "sl-PSFCH-RB-Set". The total number of PRBs used for the PSFCH, M PSFCH PRB,set Among them, sub-channel number N subch , and the number of PRBs available per slot can be calculated, for example, by the following formula (1). PSFCH PSSCH is a value indicating every how many slots the PSFCH is allocated.

[0174]

[0175] The PSFCH may be determined in association with the PSCCH resource to which the PSSCH resource is allocated. For example, a PRB within a range expressed by the following definition (2) may be allocated to the PSFCH, based on the PSCCH subchannel number j and the PSCCH slot index i to which the PSSCH multiplexed onto the PSFCH is allocated.

[0176]

[0177] Also, for example, as shown in equation (3), the number of multiplexing in cyclic shift N PSFCH CS and N PSFCH type and are multiplied to obtain the number of resources R PSFCH PRB,CS will be decided.

[0178] N PSFCH typeis 1 when the association between the PSCCH and the PSFCH is the smallest subchannel number of the PSCCH, and is the number of PRBs of the PSSCH when there is correspondence with multiple subchannels on which the PSCCH is arranged.

[0179] In the case of unicast, if decoding is successful and the CRC is OK, an ACK is sent, and if decoding fails and the CRC is NG, a NACK is sent. In this case, the resource index can be determined from the Source ID. In the case of groupcast, when sending an ACK or NACK, the resource index can be determined by using the member ID in addition to the Source ID.

[0180] When sending a NACK without sending an ACK in groupcast (also called ACK skipping), for example, the Source ID may be used, but the member ID may not be used. An example of an equation for specifying the index is shown in Equation (4).

[0181]

[0182] In equation (4), P ID represents Source ID, and M ID represents the member ID. In the case of unicast and when ACK skipping is applied in groupcast, M ID = 0. In the case of broadcast, HARQ-ACK / NACK does not have to be supported.

[0183] The number of cyclic shift sequences is, for example, 12, and the position at which transmission is performed among the 12 sequences is determined, for example, by the Sequence cyclic shift and the value of m0.

[0184] When transmitting HARC-ACK and NACK, the Sequence cyclic shift may be set, for example, as shown in Table 1 below.

[0185]

[0186] Furthermore, when ACK skipping is applied in groupcast, the Sequence cyclic shift may be set, for example, as shown in the following Table 2. Note that in the case of ACK, no signal is transmitted.

[0187]

[0188] When HARQ-ACK / NACK is transmitted, if it is divided by cyclic shift, for example, as shown in Table 3, the division number N PSFCH CS The cyclic shift pair index may differ depending on the

[0189]

[0190] For example, N PSFCH CS = 2, and when Cyclic shift Pair index is 1, m0 = 3. In this case, the cyclic shift when transmitting a NACK is 0(NACK) + 3(m0) = 3. Therefore, the NACK is transmitted in a resource that is further cyclically shifted by 3 in the sequence based on the resource calculated by equation (1).

[0191] When transmitting an ACK, the cyclic shift is 6(ACK) + 3(m0) = 9. Therefore, the ACK is transmitted on a resource that is further cyclically shifted by 9 in the sequence based on the resource calculated by equation (1).

[0192] [Resources for Inter-UE Resource Coordination Information] The resources for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information may be set to the same symbols and slots as those for the PSFCH. Alternatively, the entirety of the same symbols and slots may be used for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information, or only a part of the same symbols and slots may be used for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information.

[0193] Furthermore, PRBs that can be used for inter-UE resource coordination information may be configured as an RB set. The PRBs that can transmit inter-UE resource coordination information may be notified to terminal 200 by, for example, a bitmap or a resource indication value (RIV) or the like.

[0194] By dividing the inter-UE resource coordination information and the PSFCH in the PRB, collisions between them can be prevented. Also, by dividing the HARQ-ACK / NACK and the inter-UE resource coordination information by sequence (or scrambling, etc.), it is possible to allocate the HARQ-ACK / NACK and the inter-UE resource coordination information to the same PRB.

[0195] The inter-UE resource coordination information may be applied to any of unicast, groupcast, and broadcast. When applied to groupcast, the resources transmitting the inter-UE resource coordination information may not be associated with member IDs.

[0196] The entire resource for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information is M UE-inter-C PRB,set Subchannel N subch , and the number of PRBs available per slot are calculated by the following equation (5). UE-inter-C PSSCH is a value indicating every how many slots the inter-UE resource coordination information is allocated.

[0197]

[0198] When the inter-UE resource coordination information is determined in association with the PSCCH resource to which the resource is allocated, the inter-UE resource coordination information may be allocated to a PRB in a range expressed by the following definition (6) from the PSCCH subchannel number j1 and the PSCCH slot index i1. Note that the PSCCH slot index i1 may be, for example, 0 <i1<N UE-inter-C PSSCHThis method determines resources based on the slot in which the PSCCH is transmitted, and is therefore suitable for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information to an earlier candidate position, as in operation example A1 of embodiment 1, and if the values of K1 and K2 are common between UEs, inter-UE resource coordination information is arranged in the same slot when the PSCCH is transmitted in the same slot.

[0199]

[0200] When the inter-UE resource coordination information is determined in association with the allocated PSSCH, the inter-UE resource coordination information may be allocated to a PRB in a range expressed by the following definition (7) from the subchannel number j2 of the allocated PSSCH (for example, the resource allocation of slot #n+19 in FIG. 10 ) and the slot index i2 of the PSSCH. Note that the slot index i2 may be, for example, 0 <i2<N UE-inter-C PSSCH This method determines resources based on the slot in which the PSSCH is transmitted, and is therefore suitable for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information to a later candidate position, as in operation example A2 of embodiment 1. If the values of K1 and K2 are common between UEs, and if the PSSCH is reserved in the same slot, the inter-UE resource coordination information is arranged in the same slot.

[0201]

[0202] Furthermore, as shown in the following equation (8), the number of multiplexing in cyclic shift N UE-inter-C CS And, N UE-inter-C type and are multiplied to obtain the number of resources R UE-inter-C PRB,CS will be decided.

[0203]

[0204] In addition, N UE-inter-C typeis 1 if the association between the PSCCH or PSCCH and the UE resource coordination information is the smallest subchannel number on which the PSCCH or PSSCH is transmitted or reserved, and is the number of PRBs of the PSSCH if there is a correspondence with multiple subchannels on which the PSCCH or PSSCH is placed or reserved.

[0205] When the Source ID of the UE-B that transmitted the PSCCH is associated with a resource index, the resource index may be determined by, for example, the following equation (9). ID represents the Source ID.

[0206]

[0207] In addition, when the inter-UE resource coordination information is determined in association with the resource of the PSSCH to which the resource is allocated, the sub-channel number N subch , and the number of PRBs available per slot are calculated by the following equation (10). UE-inter-C PSSCH is a value indicating every how many slots the inter-UE resource coordination information is allocated.

[0208]

[0209] For example, the number of multiplexing in cyclic shift N UE-inter-C CS And, N UE-inter-C type and are multiplied to obtain the number of resources R UE-inter-C PRB,CS is determined. UE-inter-C type is 1 if the association between the PSCCH and the UE resource coordination information is the smallest subchannel number that transmitted the PSCCH, and is the number of PRBs of the PSCCH if there is a correspondence with multiple subchannels on which the PSCCH is allocated.

[0210] [Operation Example B1] In this operation example, one sequence is transmitted as inter-UE resource coordination information. In this case, the Sequence cyclic shift can be shown as in Table 4 below, for example.

[0211]

[0212] If UE-A determines that the resources of UE-B are not suitable for transmission, it notifies UE-B, for example, of "Not preferred." If UE-A determines that the resources of UE-B are suitable for transmission, UE-A does not need to perform the notification.

[0213] The value of m0 may be the same as that of HARQ-ACK / NACK, or, since only one state is notified, a Cyclic Shift Pair Index may be used to increase the number of cyclic shifts, as shown in Table 5 below. Note that only part of Table 5 may be used, rather than all of it.

[0214]

[0215] Furthermore, when the PSFCH for transmitting HARQ-ACK / NACK and the PRB for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information are the same resource, it may be configured to use a cyclic shift that is less likely to be used for HARQ-ACK / NACK, as shown in Table 6 below. However, the number of cyclic shifts N CS If HARQ-ACK / NACK is used when 6, collisions may occur. In the case of ACK skipping, collisions can be avoided.

[0216]

[0217] As another method for realizing the operation example B1, for example, the Sequence cyclic shift may be set to a value other than 0, and the Cyclic Shift Pair Index may be set to the same as that of the HARQ-ACK / NACK. For example, as shown in Table 7 below, when the Sequence cyclic shift is set to 1, the HARQ-ACK / NACK and the inter-UE resource coordination information are in the same frequency band and the number of cyclic shifts N CS If is less than or equal to 3, collision can be avoided.

[0218]

[0219] [Operation Example B2] In Operation Example B1, one sequence was assumed as the inter-UE resource coordination information, but in Operation Example B2, multiple sequences are assumed. For example, as shown in Fig. 11, in the PSCCH of slot #n, it is possible to reserve a PSSCH resource of slot #n+19 and a PSSCH resource of slot #n+27.

[0220] In this operation example B2, for example, two sequences are transmitted as inter-UE resource coordination information. In this case, the Sequence cyclic shift may be set as shown in Table 8 below.

[0221]

[0222] For example, if UE-A determines that the PSSCH resource reserved by UE-B is not suitable for transmission in the second slot (slot #n+19 in the example of Figure 11), UE-A notifies UE-B of "Not preferred" on the second resource.

[0223] For the second resource (slot #n+19 in the example of FIG. 11) and the third resource (slot #n+27 in the example of FIG. 11), if UE-A determines that the PSSCH resources reserved by UE-B are not suitable for transmission, UE-A notifies UE-B of "Not preferred" on the second and third resources. In other cases, UE-A does not need to make a notification.

[0224] In this case, notifying UE-B that the third PSSCH resource is not suitable for transmission by UE-B may not be supported. The third PSSCH resource may be subject to a change in PSSCH resource allocation due to a change in allocation of the second PSSCH resource. Therefore, notification of the second PSSCH resource may take priority over notification of the third and subsequent PSSCH resources.

[0225] By setting the number of sequences used to transmit inter-UE resource coordination information to two, as in this operation example B2, the number of sequences can be reduced more than in operation example B3 described later, and the probability of resource collisions and sequence erroneous detection can be reduced.

[0226] The value of m0 may be the same as that of HARQ-ACK / NACK, or may be a value such as shown in Table 9 below, which indicates two states but is less likely to cause collisions. UE-inter-C CS If = 6, a resource conflict may occur.

[0227]

[0228] [Operation Example B3] In operation example B3, similar to operation example B2, information on two PSSCH resources is transmitted using one piece of inter-UE resource coordination information. In this operation example B3, for example, three sequences are transmitted as the inter-UE resource coordination information.

[0229] In this case, the Sequence cyclic shift can be notified as shown in Table 10, for example.

[0230]

[0231] For example, if UE-A determines that only the second PSSCH resource (slot #n+19 in the example of FIG. 11) of the first, second, and third PSSCH resources of UE-B is not suitable for transmission, UE-A notifies UE-B of "Not preferred" on the second resource.

[0232] Furthermore, for example, if UE-A determines that the PSSCH resource reserved by UE-B is not suitable for transmission only for the third PSSCH resource (slot #n+27 in the example of FIG. 11) among the first, second, and third PSSCH resources, UE-A notifies UE-B of "Not preferred" on the third resource.

[0233] If UE-A determines that the PSSCH resources reserved by UE-B for the second PSSCH resource (slot #n+19 in the example of FIG. 11) and the third PSSCH resource (slot #n+27 in the example of FIG. 11) are not suitable for transmission, UE-A notifies UE-B of "Not preferred" on the second and third resources.

[0234] In other cases, for example, when the second and third PSSCH resources are suitable for UE-B's transmission, UE-A does not need to notify by means of inter-UE resource coordination information.

[0235] In operation example B3, the number of sequences used to transmit UE-UE resource coordination information increases compared to operation example B2, but it is possible to notify UE-B that of the first, second, and third PSSCH resources, the third PSSCH resource is not suitable for transmission alone.

[0236] In operation example B3, the value of m0 uses three sequences, so the maximum number of multiplexed sequences is, for example, 12 sequences / 4 sequences = 4. In this case, for example, the cyclic shift shown in Table 11 may be set.

[0237]

[0238] As a modified example, the cyclic shift shown in Table 12 may be set.

[0239] For example, the operation example to be applied may be switched among operation example B1, operation example B2, and operation example B3 depending on the time interval between the second PSSCH resource and the third PSSCH resource.

[0240] For example, if the time interval is short (for example, equal to or less than a threshold), operation example B2 or operation example B3 may be applied, and if the time interval is long (for example, greater than a threshold), operation example B1 may be applied.

[0241] When the time interval between the second and third PSSCH resources is long, the determination of whether the third PSSCH resource is suitable for transmission may change depending on the allocation information for the second and subsequent PSSCH resources, so it may be better to transmit inter-UE utilization coordination information in a later slot. On the other hand, when the time interval is short, inter-UE resource coordination information can be received earlier than when two pieces of inter-UE resource coordination information are transmitted.

[0242] As a modified example, multiple subchannels may be associated with the inter-UE resource control information. In this case, for example, as shown in Table 13, the subchannel numbers of the PSCCH to which non-preferred resources are allocated or the subchannel numbers of the non-preferred PSSCH resources may be notified by the sequence of the inter-UE resource control information.

[0243]

[0244] The number of PSSCH resources that can be allocated by the PSCCH may be equal to or greater than 3. The number of sequences to be applied to the inter-UE resource coordination information may be changed (for example, increased) depending on the number of PSSCH resources that can be allocated by the PSCCH.

[0245] Furthermore, in this embodiment, an example has been described in which inter-UE resource coordination information is transmitted in a sequence, but inter-UE resource coordination information may be transmitted in another format or bit notation so as to be separable from the PSFCH.

[0246] In addition, although the maximum number of sequences is set to 12 in this embodiment, the maximum number of sequences is not limited to 12.

[0247] As described above, in the present embodiment, inter-UE resource coordination information is allocated to PSFCH symbols that are not used by other terminals 200 (e.g., Rel. 16 UEs) for transmission and reception other than the PSFCH, and therefore it is possible to reduce the probability that resources for transmitting inter-UE resource coordination information will collide with other resources, thereby improving the performance of SL communication.

[0248] Furthermore, in the PSFCH symbol, the inter-UE resource coordination information and the PSFCH are divided at the PRB level (in other words, frequency division multiplexed), or the inter-UE resource coordination information and the PSFCH are arranged in the same PRB using different sequences, so that the inter-UE resource coordination information and the PSFCH can be reliably separated in receiving terminal 200.

[0249] [PSFCH] In the PSFCH of Rel. 16, one bit of ACK / NACK is transmitted with one symbol, and this format is the same as PUCCH format 0. Here, the format refers to the number of symbols, sequence, allocation of demodulation reference signals (DMRS), etc.

[0250] The PSFCH in which the inter-UE resource coordination information is allocated may have a format different from that of the PSFCH of Rel. 16. The different format may be, for example, a format equivalent to PUCCH format 1, 2, 3, or 4. For example, PUCCH formats 2, 3, and 4 allow allocation of more than two bits, and are therefore suitable for cases in which the amount of information for the inter-UE resource coordination information is greater than two bits. Furthermore, the PSFCH may be configured using a format different from the PUCCH format.

[0251] Other Embodiments The above-described operation examples may be used in combination. For example, the operation example may be different for each UE, or one UE may transmit inter-UE resource coordination information according to multiple operation examples.

[0252] Terminals communicating in the sidelink may include terminals that perform only one of transmission and reception, and terminals that perform both transmission and reception.

[0253] When the sidelink configuration is preconfigured, the configuration method may be, for example, preconfigured according to specifications or preconfigured in the SIM. The configuration method may include a configuration in the application layer called "pre-configured," a configuration in a higher layer such as an SIB or other RRC called "configured," or a configuration in the MAC.

[0254] By replacing the PSCCH with the PDCCH, the PSSCH with the PDSCH or the PUSCH, the PSFCH with the PUCCH, and the PSBCH with the PBCH, the above-described embodiments may be applied to Uu communication between base station 100 and terminal 200. The above-described embodiments may also be applied to UCI transmitted in the PUSCH.

[0255] Furthermore, the above-described embodiment may be applied to only Mode 2 of Mode 1 and Mode 2 of the sidelink.

[0256] The inter-UE resource usage adjustment information may be shared among a plurality of terminals 200, for example. The number of transmitting terminals 200 that transmit the inter-UE resource usage adjustment information is not limited to one, but may be two or more. The number of receiving terminals 200 that receive the inter-UE resource usage adjustment information is also not limited to one, but may be two or more. Furthermore, for example, the roles of the transmitting terminal and the receiving terminal may be reversed.

[0257] For example, terminal 200 may be a terminal that supports one or both of the transmission and reception of inter-UE resource usage coordination information. Terminals 200 that support both the transmission and reception of inter-UE resource usage coordination information can mutually complement sensing information that could not be received due to, for example, a half duplex issue.

[0258] The terminal 200 configured to receive inter-UE resource coordination information may be configured not to perform sensing, which can reduce power consumption for sensing.

[0259] Information indicating whether the terminal 200 supports the functions, operations, or processes described in each of the above-described embodiments and variations may be transmitted (or notified) from the terminal 200 to another terminal 200 or the base station 100, for example, as capability information or capability parameters of the terminal 200.

[0260] The capability information may include an information element (IE) that individually indicates whether or not the terminal 200 supports at least one of the functions, operations, or processes described in the above-described embodiments and modifications. Alternatively, the capability information may include an information element that indicates whether or not the terminal 200 supports a combination of any two or more of the functions, operations, or processes described in the above-described embodiments and modifications.

[0261] The terminal 200 or base station 100 that has received the capability information may, for example, determine (or decide or assume) the functions, operations, or processes that the terminal 200 that transmitted the capability information supports (or does not support). The terminal 200 or base station 100 that has received the capability information may perform operations, processes, or controls according to the determination result based on the capability information. For example, the terminal 200 or base station 100 that has received the capability information may control resource allocation based on the capability information.

[0262] Note that the fact that the terminal 200 does not support some of the functions, operations, or processes described in the above-described embodiments and modifications may be interpreted as meaning that such some of the functions, operations, or processes are restricted in the terminal 200. For example, information or a request regarding such restrictions may be notified to another terminal 200 or the base station 100.

[0263] Information regarding the capabilities or limitations of the terminal 200 may, for example, be defined in a standard, or may be implicitly notified to the other terminals 200 or base stations 100 in association with information known in the other terminals 200 or base stations 100 or information transmitted to the other terminals 200 or base stations 100.

[0275] (Antenna Port) An antenna port refers to a logical antenna (antenna group) consisting of one or more physical antennas. In other words, an antenna port does not necessarily refer to a single physical antenna, but may refer to an array antenna consisting of multiple antennas. For example, the number of physical antennas an antenna port consists of is not specified, but it is specified as the smallest unit by which a terminal can transmit a reference signal. An antenna port may also be specified as the smallest unit by which a weighting of a precoding vector is multiplied.

[0276] 5G NR System Architecture and Protocol Stack 3GPP continues work on the next release of fifth-generation cellular technology (also referred to simply as "5G"), which includes the development of new radio access technology (NR) operating in the frequency range up to 100 GHz. The first version of the 5G standard was completed at the end of 2017, allowing for the prototyping and commercial deployment of 5G NR-compliant devices (e.g., smartphones).

[0277] For example, the system architecture generally assumes a Next Generation - Radio Access Network (NG-RAN) comprising gNBs. The gNBs provide UE-side termination of NG radio access user plane (SDAP / PDCP / RLC / MAC / PHY) and control plane (RRC) protocols. The gNBs are connected to each other via an Xn interface. The gNBs are also connected to a Next Generation Core (NGC) via a Next Generation (NG) interface, more specifically to an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) (e.g., a specific core entity performing AMF) via an NG-C interface, and to a User Plane Function (UPF) (e.g., a specific core entity performing UPF) via an NG-U interface. The NG-RAN architecture is shown in Figure 13 (see, for example, 3GPP TS 38.300 v15.6.0, section 4).

[0278] The NR user plane protocol stack (see, for example, 3GPP TS 38.300, section 4.4.1) includes a PDCP (Packet Data Convergence Protocol (see, for example, TS 38.300, section 6.4)) sublayer, a RLC (Radio Link Control (see, for example, TS 38.300, section 6.3)) sublayer, and a MAC (Medium Access Control (see, for example, TS 38.300, section 6.2)) sublayer, which are terminated on the network side in the gNB. A new access stratum (AS) sublayer (SDAP: Service Data Adaptation Protocol) has also been introduced above PDCP (see, for example, 3GPP TS 38.300, section 6.5). A control plane protocol stack has also been defined for the NR (see, for example, TS 38.300, section 4.4.2). An overview of Layer 2 functions is described in Section 6 of TS 38.300. The functions of the PDCP sublayer, RLC sublayer, and MAC sublayer are listed in clauses 6.4, 6.3, and 6.2 of TS 38.300, respectively. The functions of the RRC layer are listed in clause 7 of TS 38.300.

[0279] For example, the Medium-Access-Control layer handles logical channel multiplexing and scheduling and scheduling-related functions, including handling various numerologies.

[0280] For example, the physical layer (PHY) is responsible for coding, PHY HARQ processing, modulation, multi-antenna processing, and mapping of signals to appropriate physical time-frequency resources. The physical layer also handles mapping of transport channels to physical channels. The physical layer provides services to the MAC layer in the form of transport channels. A physical channel corresponds to a set of time-frequency resources used for transmitting a specific transport channel, and each transport channel is mapped to a corresponding physical channel. For example, physical channels include the Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH), the Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH), and the Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) as uplink physical channels, and the Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH), the Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH), and the Physical Broadcast Channel (PBCH) as downlink physical channels.

[0281] NR use cases / deployment scenarios may include enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC), and massive machine-type communication (mMTC), which have diverse requirements in terms of data rate, latency, and coverage. For example, eMBB is expected to support peak data rates (20 Gbps in the downlink and 10 Gbps in the uplink) and effective (user-experienced) data rates approximately three times higher than those offered by IMT-Advanced. On the other hand, URLLC imposes stricter requirements on ultra-low latency (0.5 ms for user plane latency in both UL and DL) and high reliability (1-10-5 within 1 ms). Finally, mMTC preferably requires high connection density (1,000,000 devices / km in urban environments).2 ), wide coverage in adverse environments, and extremely long battery life (15 years) for a low-cost device may be desired.

[0282] Therefore, OFDM numerology (e.g., subcarrier spacing, OFDM symbol length, cyclic prefix (CP) length, number of symbols per scheduling interval) suitable for one use case may not be valid for another use case. For example, low-latency services may preferably require a shorter symbol length (and therefore a larger subcarrier spacing) and / or fewer symbols per scheduling interval (also referred to as TTI) than mMTC services. Furthermore, deployment scenarios with large channel delay spreads may preferably require a longer CP length than scenarios with short delay spreads. The subcarrier spacing may be optimized accordingly to maintain similar CP overhead. NR may support one or more subcarrier spacing values. Correspondingly, subcarrier spacings of 15 kHz, 30 kHz, 60 kHz, etc. are currently considered. The symbol length Tu and subcarrier spacing Δf are directly related by the formula Δf = 1 / Tu. Similar to LTE systems, the term "resource element" can be used to mean the smallest resource unit consisting of one subcarrier for the length of one OFDM / SC-FDMA symbol.

[0283] In the new radio system 5G-NR, for each numerology and each carrier, a resource grid of subcarriers and OFDM symbols is defined for each uplink and downlink. Each element of the resource grid is called a resource element and is specified based on a frequency index in the frequency domain and a symbol position in the time domain (see 3GPP TS 38.211 v15.6.0).

[0284] <Functional Separation Between NG-RAN and 5GC in 5G NR> Figure 14 shows the functional separation between NG-RAN and 5GC. The logical node of NG-RAN is gNB or ng-eNB. 5GC has logical nodes AMF, UPF, and SMF.

[0285] For example, gNB and ng-eNB host the following main functions: - Radio Resource Management functions such as Radio Bearer Control, Radio Admission Control, Connection Mobility Control, dynamic allocation (scheduling) of resources to UEs in both uplink and downlink; - IP header compression, ciphering and integrity protection of data; - AMF selection at UE attach time if routing to the AMF cannot be determined from the information provided by the UE; - Routing of user plane data towards the UPF; - Routing of control plane information towards the AMF; - Connection setup and release; - Scheduling and transmission of paging messages; - Scheduling and transmission of system broadcast information (sourced from the AMF or Operation, Admission, Maintenance (OAM)); - Configuration of measurements and measurement reports for mobility and scheduling; - Transport level packet marking in the uplink; - Session management; Support for network slicing; - QoS flow management and mapping to data radio bearers; - Support for UEs in RRC_INACTIVE state; - NAS message delivery function; - Radio access network sharing; - Dual connectivity; - Close coordination between NR and E-UTRA.

[0286] The Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) hosts the following main functions: - Termination of Non-Access Stratum (NAS) signaling; - Security of NAS signaling; - Security control of Access Stratum (AS); - Signaling between Core Network (CN) nodes for mobility between 3GPP access networks; - Reachability to idle mode UEs (including control and execution of paging retransmissions); - Registration area management; - Support for intra-system and inter-system mobility; - Access authentication; - Access authorization including checking of roaming rights; - Mobility management control (subscription and policy); - Support for network slicing; - Selection of Session Management Function (SMF).

[0287] Furthermore, the User Plane Function (UPF) hosts the following main functions: - anchor point for intra-RAT / inter-RAT mobility (if applicable); - external PDU (Protocol Data Unit) session point for interconnection with data networks; - packet routing and forwarding; - packet inspection and policy rule enforcement for the user plane part; - traffic usage reporting; - uplink classifier to support routing of traffic flows to the data network; - branching point to support multi-homed PDU sessions; - QoS processing for the user plane (e.g. packet filtering, gating, UL / DL rate enforcement); - uplink traffic validation (mapping of SDF to QoS flows); - downlink packet buffering and triggering of downlink data notifications.

[0288] Finally, the Session Management Function (SMF) hosts the following main functions: session management; allocation and management of IP addresses for UEs; selection and control of UPF; configuration of traffic steering in the User Plane Function (UPF) to route traffic to the appropriate destination; policy enforcement and QoS of the control part; downlink data notification.

[0289] <RRC connection setup and reconfiguration procedure> Figure 15 shows some of the interactions between the UE, gNB, and AMF (5GC entities) when the UE transitions from RRC_IDLE to RRC_CONNECTED in the NAS part (see TS 38.300 v15.6.0).

[0290] RRC is a higher layer signaling (protocol) used to configure the UE and gNB. With this transition, the AMF prepares UE context data (including, for example, PDU session context, security keys, UE radio capabilities, UE security capabilities, etc.) and sends it to the gNB along with an INITIAL CONTEXT SETUP REQUEST. The gNB then activates AS security together with the UE. This is done by the gNB sending a SecurityModeCommand message to the UE, and the UE responding with a SecurityModeComplete message to the gNB. The gNB then sends an RRCReconfiguration message to the UE, and upon receiving an RRCReconfigurationComplete from the UE, the gNB performs reconfiguration to set up Signaling Radio Bearer 2 (SRB2) and Data Radio Bearer (DRB). For signaling-only connections, the steps related to RRCReconfiguration are omitted because SRB2 and DRB are not set up. Finally, the gNB notifies the AMF that the setup procedure is complete with an INITIAL CONTEXT SETUP RESPONSE.

[0291] Accordingly, the present disclosure provides a 5th Generation Core (5GC) entity (e.g., AMF, SMF, etc.) that includes: a control circuit that, upon operation, establishes a Next Generation (NG) connection with a gNodeB; and a transmitter that, upon operation, transmits an initial context setup message to the gNodeB via the NG connection so that a signaling radio bearer between the gNodeB and a user equipment (UE) is set up. Specifically, the gNodeB transmits Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling, including a resource allocation configuration information element (IE), to the UE via the signaling radio bearer. The UE then transmits in uplink or receives in downlink based on the resource allocation configuration.

[0292] <IMT Usage Scenarios Beyond 2020> Figure 16 shows some use cases for 5G NR. The 3rd Generation Partnership Project New Radio (3GPP NR) is considering three use cases envisioned by IMT-2020 to support a wide variety of services and applications. The first phase of specifications for enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) has been completed. Current and future work includes standardization for ultra-reliable and low-latency communications (URLLC) and massive machine-type communications (mMTC), in addition to expanding support for eMBB. Figure 16 shows some examples of envisioned usage scenarios for IMT beyond 2020 (see, for example, ITU-R M.2083 Figure 2).

[0293] The URLLC use case has stringent performance requirements for throughput, latency, and availability. It is envisioned as one of the enabling technologies for future applications such as wireless control of industrial production or manufacturing processes, remote medical surgery, automated power transmission and distribution in smart grids, and road safety. URLLC's ultra-high reliability is supported by identifying technologies that meet the requirements set by TR 38.913. Key requirements for NR URLLC in Release 15 include a target user plane latency of 0.5 ms on the uplink (UL) and 0.5 ms on the downlink (DL). The overall URLLC requirement for a single packet transmission is a block error rate (BLER) of 1E-5 for a 32-byte packet size with a user plane latency of 1 ms.

[0294] From a physical layer perspective, reliability can be improved in many possible ways. Current room for reliability improvement includes defining a separate CQI table for URLLC, more compact DCI formats, PDCCH repetition, etc. However, this room can be expanded to achieve ultra-high reliability as NR (with respect to the key requirements of NR URLLC) becomes more stable and developed. Specific use cases for NR URLLC in Release 15 include Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality (AR / VR), e-health, e-safety, and mission-critical applications.

[0295] Additionally, the technology enhancements targeted by NR URLLC aim to improve latency and reliability. Technology enhancements for latency improvement include configurable numerology, non-slot-based scheduling with flexible mapping, grant-free (configured grant) uplink, slot-level repetition in the data channel, and preemption in the downlink. Preemption means that a transmission with already allocated resources is stopped and the already allocated resources are used for another transmission with a later requested lower latency / higher priority. Therefore, a previously allowed transmission is preempted by a later transmission. Preemption is applicable regardless of the specific service type. For example, a transmission of service type A (URLLC) may be preempted by a transmission of service type B (eMBB, etc.). Technology enhancements for reliability improvement include a dedicated CQI / MCS table for a target BLER of 1E-5.

[0296] The use case of mMTC (massive machine type communication) is characterized by a very large number of connected devices that typically transmit relatively small amounts of data that are not sensitive to delays. These devices are required to be low-cost and have very long battery life. From the NR perspective, utilizing very narrow bandwidth portions is one solution that saves power and extends battery life from the UE's perspective.

[0297] As mentioned above, the scope of reliability improvement in NR is expected to be broader. One of the key requirements for all cases, for example, URLLC and mMTC, is high or ultra-high reliability. Several mechanisms can improve reliability from a radio perspective and a network perspective. Generally, there are two to three key areas that can help improve reliability. These areas include compact control channel information, repetition of data channels / control channels, and diversity in the frequency, time, and / or spatial domains. These areas are generally applicable to reliability improvement regardless of the specific communication scenario.

[0298] For NR URLLC, further use cases with more stringent requirements are envisaged, such as factory automation, transportation, and power distribution, with high reliability (up to 10-6 level reliability), high availability, packet size up to 256 bytes, time synchronization down to a few μs (depending on the use case, the value can be 1 μs or a few μs depending on the frequency range and low latency in the order of 0.5 ms to 1 ms (e.g., 0.5 ms latency on the targeted user plane)).

[0299] Furthermore, for NR URLLC, there may be several technical enhancements from the physical layer perspective. These technical enhancements include PDCCH (Physical Downlink Control Channel) enhancements for compact DCI, PDCCH repetition, and increased PDCCH monitoring. Also, UCI (Uplink Control Information) enhancements relate to enhanced Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) and CSI feedback enhancements. There may also be PUSCH enhancements related to minislot-level hopping and retransmission / repetition enhancements. The term "minislot" refers to a Transmission Time Interval (TTI) that contains fewer symbols than a slot (a slot comprises 14 symbols).

[0300] <QoS Control> The 5G Quality of Service (QoS) model is based on QoS flows and supports both QoS flows that require a guaranteed flow bit rate (Guaranteed Bit Rate QoS flows (GBR)) and QoS flows that do not require a guaranteed flow bit rate (non-GBR QoS flows). Thus, at the NAS level, a QoS flow is the finest granularity of QoS classification in a PDU session. A QoS flow is identified within a PDU session by a QoS Flow ID (QFI) carried in an encapsulation header over the NG-U interface.

[0301] For each UE, 5GC establishes one or more PDU sessions. For each UE, the NG-RAN establishes at least one Data Radio Bearer (DRB) for each PDU session, e.g., as shown above with reference to Figure 15. Additional DRBs for the QoS flows of that PDU session can be configured later (when this is up to the NG-RAN). The NG-RAN maps packets belonging to different PDU sessions to different DRBs. NAS-level packet filters in the UE and 5GC associate UL and DL packets with QoS flows, while AS-level mapping rules in the UE and NG-RAN associate UL and DL QoS flows with DRBs.

[0302] Figure 17 shows the non-roaming reference architecture for 5G NR (see TS 23.501 v16.1.0, section 4.23). An Application Function (AF) (e.g., an external application server hosting 5G services, as illustrated in Figure 16) interacts with the 3GPP core network to provide services. For example, it may access a Network Exposure Function (NEF) to support applications that affect traffic routing, or interact with a policy framework for policy control (e.g., QoS control) (see Policy Control Function (PCF)). Based on operator deployment, Application Functions considered trusted by the operator can interact directly with associated Network Functions. Application Functions not permitted by the operator to directly access Network Functions interact with associated Network Functions using an external exposure framework via the NEF.

[0303] Figure 17 further illustrates further functional units of the 5G architecture, namely, Network Slice Selection Function (NSSF), Network Repository Function (NRF), Unified Data Management (UDM), Authentication Server Function (AUSF), Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF), Session Management Function (SMF), and Data Network (DN, e.g., operator-provided services, Internet access, or third-party services). All or part of the core network functions and application services may be deployed and run in a cloud computing environment.

[0304] Therefore, the present disclosure provides an application server (e.g., an AF in a 5G architecture) comprising: a transmitter that, in operation, sends a request including QoS requirements for at least one of a URLLC service, an eMMB service, and an mMTC service to at least one of 5GC functions (e.g., an NEF, an AMF, an SMF, a PCF, an UPF, etc.) to establish a PDU session including a radio bearer between a gNodeB and a UE according to the QoS requirements; and a control circuit that, in operation, performs a service using the established PDU session.
