Abstract
Description
Radio wave control device and housing for radio wave control board
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a radio wave control device and a housing for a radio wave control board.
[0002] Metasurfaces have been proposed as one way to eliminate coverage holes. Using metasurfaces makes it possible to control the transmission direction of radio waves by reflecting or refracting them. In other words, by reflecting or refracting radio waves in a specific direction, it is possible to eliminate coverage holes while significantly alleviating restrictions on installation locations.
[0003] For example, Patent Document 1 listed below discloses a radio wave scattering device that includes multiple radio wave scattering sections and that can widen the scattered beam width compared to a case where the phase between the multiple radio wave scattering sections is not corrected.
[0004] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2022-189533
[0005] However, because the directivity of passive metasurfaces is determined by their design, changing the beam direction after installation requires mechanical manipulation of the metasurface. Furthermore, when installing metasurfaces outdoors, a housing is required for weather resistance and installation, but because the housing is fixed to the structure, changing the beam direction after installation is difficult.
[0006] In view of the above-mentioned problems, the present disclosure aims to provide a radio wave control device and a housing for a radio wave control plate that allow the angle of the radio wave control plate to be easily adjusted.
[0007] In order to solve the above-mentioned problems and achieve the objectives, the radio wave control device of the present disclosure comprises a radio wave control plate that reflects or refracts radio waves, a first housing that houses the radio wave control plate inside, and a second housing that houses the first housing inside, wherein the first housing and the second housing form a housing for the radio wave control plate, and the first housing is rotatable in an in-plane direction relative to the second housing.
[0008] According to the present disclosure, it is possible to provide a radio wave control device and a housing for a radio wave control plate that allow the angle of the radio wave control plate to be easily adjusted.

[0010] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. However, the present disclosure is not limited to the embodiments described below.
[0011] (Configuration of Radio Wave Control Device) First, the configuration of a radio wave control device 100 according to the present disclosure will be described using Fig. 1. Fig. 1 is a diagram showing an example configuration of a radio wave control device according to the present disclosure. As shown in Fig. 1, radio wave control device 100 according to the present disclosure includes a radio wave control plate 1, a housing 10 (first housing 20, second housing 30), metal plates 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, and a packing 9.
[0012] The radio wave control board 1 is a board that controls the direction of propagation of radio waves by reflection or refraction. The radio wave control board 1 may be realized, for example, by a metasurface refraction board that refracts radio waves at a refraction angle different from the angle of incidence. The radio wave control board 1 includes a dielectric substrate and a plurality of phase modulation elements arranged on the dielectric substrate.
[0013] The housing 10 includes a first housing 20 and a second housing 30. That is, the housing 10 has a structure in which the first housing 20 is housed inside the second housing 30.
[0014] First housing 20 includes first housing member 21 and first housing member 22. First housing 20 sandwiches radio wave control plate 1 between first housing member 21 and first housing member 22, and stores radio wave control plate 1 inside first housing 20. First housing member 21 has a hole for adjusting air pressure, which will be described later. Considering that first housing 20 may be installed outdoors, first housing 20 is made of a weather-resistant material or a surface-treated material.
[0015] The second housing 30 includes a second housing member 31 and a second housing member 32. The second housing 30 is made of a weather-resistant material and a surface-treated material, taking into consideration that the second housing 30 may be installed outdoors. The second housing member 31 is fixed by a metal plate (second metal plate) 6 and a metal plate (third metal plate) 7.
[0016] Metal sheets 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 are members that secure and support housing 10 at the installation location. The combination of metal sheets 4 and 5 is also referred to as the first metal sheet and metal sheet 6, and the second metal sheets 6 and 7 are also referred to as the third metal sheet 7. Metal sheets 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 are made of weather-resistant materials or surface-treated materials. Metal sheets 7 and 8 sandwich the structure to be installed (such as a balcony railing or a pole on an apartment building) between them and fasten them together to secure housing 10 to the structure. Metal sheet 4 is provided for design purposes.
[0017] The packing 9 is provided between the first housing member 21 and the first housing member 22, and airtightly seals the inside of the first housing 20. The packing 9 may be, for example, a rubber packing.
[0018] (Housing for radio wave control plate) (Regarding in-plane directions) Next, the configuration of the housing 10 for a radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure will be described using Fig. 2. Fig. 2 is a diagram showing the configuration of the housing for a radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure. As shown in Fig. 2, the housing 10 for a radio wave control plate accommodates the first housing 20 inside the second housing 30 by sandwiching the first housing 20 between the second housing member 31 and the second housing member 32.
[0019] Next, the dimensions of the housing 10 for the radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure will be described with reference to Fig. 3. Fig. 3 is a diagram showing the dimensions of the housing for the radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure. As shown in Fig. 3, the diameter Φ1 of the first housing 20 is smaller than the diameter Φ2 of the second housing member 31 constituting the second housing 30.
[0020] Next, the specific dimensional relationship between the first housing 20 and the second housing member 31 constituting the second housing 30 will be described using FIG. 4 . FIG. 4 is a diagram showing the position of the A-A cross section of the housing for the radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure, and a diagram showing the A-A cross section. The diagram shown on the left side of FIG. 4 is a diagram showing the position of the A-A cross section of the housing 10. Furthermore, the diagram shown on the right side of FIG. 4 is a diagram showing the A-A cross section of the housing 10 for the radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure. As shown in the diagram on the left side of FIG. 4 , the first housing 20 is housed inside the second housing 30, which includes the second housing member 31 and the second housing member 32. Furthermore, as shown in the diagram on the right side of FIG. 4 , the diameter Φ1 of the first housing 20 is formed smaller than the diameter Φ2 of the second housing member 31. Therefore, the second housing 30 can rotate inside the first housing 20 in the in-plane direction (X direction) shown in FIG. 4 , in other words, in a direction along a plane horizontal to the radio wave control plate 1. This makes it possible to adjust the refraction angle in a direction horizontal to the plate surface of the radio wave control plate 1.
[0021] Next, the markings that serve as scales for adjusting the angle in the in-plane direction of the housing 10 for a radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure, the positions of the protrusions that serve as markers, and details of the markings and protrusions will be described using Figure 5. Figure 5 is a diagram showing the markings that serve as scales for adjusting the angle in the in-plane direction of the housing 10 for a radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure, the positions of the protrusions that serve as markers, and details of the markings and protrusions. The diagram on the left side of Figure 5 is a diagram showing the markings that serve as scales for adjusting the angle in the in-plane direction of the housing 10 for a radio wave control plate, and the positions of the protrusions that serve as markers. As shown in the diagram on the left side of Figure 5, the markings and protrusions are provided at the circled locations near the base of the fixing portion 33.
[0022] The diagram on the right side of Fig. 5 is a detailed view a of the area circled in the diagram on the left side of Fig. 5. As shown in the diagram on the right side of Fig. 5, protrusions 31P are provided on the inner periphery of second housing member 31. Also, as shown in the diagram on the right side of Fig. 5, markings 20E are provided on the outer periphery of first housing 20 as markers for adjusting the angle in the in-plane direction. Note that markings 20E may be, for example, provided as smaller markings 20Es at predetermined angular intervals (e.g., 1 degree) and larger markings 20Eb at angular intervals larger than the predetermined angular intervals (e.g., 10 degrees). Therefore, using markings 20E as scales and protrusions 31P as markers, it is possible to accurately adjust the angle in the in-plane direction (X direction) of first housing 20, which houses radio wave control plate 1 therein.
[0023] Next, screw fastening locations of the housing 10 for the radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure will be described with reference to FIG. 6 . FIG. 6 is a diagram showing screw fastening locations of the housing for the radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure. Screws are inserted into the screw holes circled in FIG. 6 and turned to fasten the first housing 20 and the second housing 30 together. This makes it possible to restrict in-plane rotation of the first housing 20 inside the second housing 30. Therefore, the in-plane angle of the radio wave control plate 1 housed inside the first housing 20 can be fixed.
[0024] (Regarding the Horizontal Direction) Next, horizontal rotation of the housing 10 for the radio wave control plate will be described using FIG. 7 . FIG. 7 is a diagram showing a structure for fastening the housing for the radio wave control plate and the metal plate according to the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 7 , the housing 10 for the radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure is sandwiched and fixed between a first metal plate (a combination of metal plates 4 and 5) and a metal plate (second metal plate) 6. Before being sandwiched and fixed between the first metal plate (a combination of metal plates 4 and 5) and the metal plate (second metal plate) 6, the housing 10 for the radio wave control plate can rotate in the horizontal direction (Y direction) shown in FIG. 7 , in other words, in a direction perpendicular to the plate surface of the radio wave control plate 1 and horizontal to the fixing surface on which the housing 10 is installed. Therefore, after adjusting the horizontal (Y direction) angle of the housing 10 for the radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure, the housing 10 is sandwiched and fixed between the first metal plate (combination of metal plates 4 and 5) and the metal plate (second metal plate) 6, making it possible to adjust the horizontal (Y direction) angle of the radio wave control plate 1 and then fix the adjusted angle.
[0025] Next, the markings that serve as scales for adjusting the horizontal angle of the housing 10 for a radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure, the locations of the markings that serve as markers, and details of these markings will be described using FIG. 8 . FIG. 8 is a diagram showing the markings that serve as scales for adjusting the horizontal angle of the housing 10 for a radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure, the locations of the markings that serve as markers, and details of these markings. The diagram on the left side of FIG. 8 is a diagram showing the markings that serve as scales for adjusting the horizontal angle of the housing 10 for a radio wave control plate, and the locations of the markings that serve as markers. As shown in the diagram on the left side of FIG. 8 , these markings are provided near the fastening portion between the housing 10 for a radio wave control plate and the metal plate 5.
[0026] The right side of FIG. 8 is a detailed view b of the vicinity of the fastening portion between the housing 10 for the radio wave control plate and the metal plate 5. As shown in the right side of FIG. 8, markings 31E serving as markers for the horizontal rotation of the housing 10 for the radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure are provided near the fastening portion between the second housing member 31 and the metal plate 5. Also, as shown in the right side of FIG. 8, markings 5E serving as scales for adjusting the angle of the horizontal rotation of the housing 10 for the radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure are provided on the top surface of the metal plate 5. Note that the markings 5E may include, for example, smaller markings 5Es provided at predetermined angular intervals (e.g., 1 degree) and larger markings 5Eb provided at larger angular intervals (e.g., 10 degrees). Therefore, using the markings 5E as scales and the markings 31E as markers, it is possible to accurately adjust the horizontal (Y direction) angle of the housing 10 that houses the radio wave control plate 1 therein.
[0027] Next, a method for fastening the housing 10 for a radio wave control plate using the first metal plate (combination of metal plates 4 and 5) and the metal plate (second metal plate) 6 will be described with reference to FIG. 9 . FIG. 9 is a diagram showing screw fastening locations for the housing for a radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure and the metal plate. Screws are inserted into the screw holes at the circled locations at the four corners of the first metal plate (combination of metal plates 4 and 5) and the metal plate (second metal plate) 6 shown in FIG. 9 , and the screws are turned to fasten the first metal plate (combination of metal plates 4 and 5) and the metal plate (second metal plate) 6 together, thereby fixing the housing 10 sandwiched between the first metal plate (combination of metal plates 4 and 5) and the metal plate (second metal plate) 6. This limits the horizontal (Y direction) rotation of the housing 10 for a radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure. Therefore, the horizontal angle of the radio wave control plate 1 housed inside the housing 10 can be fixed.
[0028] (Regarding the vertical direction) Next, vertical rotation of housing 10 for a radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure will be described using Fig. 10. Fig. 10 is a side view of the housing for a radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure. As shown in Fig. 10, housing 10 for a radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure is fastened using a first metal plate (a combination of metal plates 4 and 5) and a metal plate (second metal plate) 6, and then a metal plate (third metal plate) 7 is connected to the metal plate (second metal plate) 6.
[0029] Next, a method for connecting a housing 10 for a radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure to a metal plate will be described with reference to FIG. 11 . FIG. 11 shows a front view and a side view of the housing for a radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure. As shown in side views a and b at both ends of FIG. 11 , the metal plate (second metal plate) 6 fastened to the housing 10 for a radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure is fastened and fixed to the metal plate (third metal plate) 7 by inserting screws into the screw holes at the circled locations and turning the screws. Note that when the screws are loosened, the metal plate (second metal plate) 6 can rotate relative to the metal plate (third metal plate) 7 in the vertical direction (Z direction) shown in FIG. 11 , in other words, in a direction perpendicular to the plate surface of the radio wave control plate 1 and perpendicular to the fixing surface on which the housing 10 is installed. This allows for vertical angle adjustment of the housing 10 for a radio wave control plate.
[0030] Next, the markings that serve as scales for adjusting the vertical angle of the housing 10 for a radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure, the locations of the markings that serve as markers, and details of these markings will be described using FIG. 12 . FIG. 12 is a diagram showing the markings that serve as scales for adjusting the vertical angle of the housing 10 for a radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure, the locations of the markings that serve as markers, and details of these markings. The diagram on the left side of FIG. 12 is a diagram showing the markings that serve as scales for adjusting the vertical angle of the housing 10 for a radio wave control plate, and the locations of the markings that serve as markers. As shown in the diagram on the left side of FIG. 12 , these markings are provided at circled locations on the metal plate (second metal plate) 6 and the metal plate (third metal plate) 7 fastened to the housing 10 for a radio wave control plate.
[0031] The right side of Fig. 12 shows a detailed view c of the circled portions of metal plate (second metal plate) 6 and metal plate (third metal plate) 7 fastened to housing 10 for a radio wave control plate. As shown in the right side of Fig. 12, markings 6E are provided on the side of metal plate (second metal plate) 6, which serve as markers for the vertical rotation of housing 10 for a radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure. Also, as shown in the right side of Fig. 12, markings 7E are provided on the side of metal plate (third metal plate) 7, which serve as scales for adjusting the angle of vertical rotation of housing 10 for a radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure. Note that markings 7E may include, for example, smaller markings 7Es provided at predetermined angular intervals (e.g., 1 degree) and larger markings 7Eb provided at angular intervals larger than the predetermined angular intervals (e.g., 10 degrees). Therefore, by using the markings 7E as scales and the markings 6E as marks, it is possible to accurately adjust the angle in the vertical direction (Z direction) of the housing 10 that houses the radio wave control plate 1 inside.
[0032] (Regarding the air pressure adjustment sheet) Next, the air pressure adjustment sheet S of the housing 10 for the radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure will be described with reference to FIG. 13. FIG. 13 is a diagram showing the position where the air pressure adjustment sheet of the housing for the radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure is provided, and details of the air pressure adjustment sheet. The diagram on the left side of FIG. 13 is a diagram showing the position where the air pressure adjustment sheet S of the housing 10 for the radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure is provided. As shown in the diagram on the left side of FIG. 13, the air pressure adjustment sheet S of the housing 10 for the radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure is provided in the circled area on the outer periphery of the first housing member 21. The air pressure adjustment sheet S is a sheet that allows air to pass through but not water.
[0033] The diagram on the right side of Fig. 13 is a detailed view d of the circled area on the outer periphery of first housing member 21 where air pressure adjustment sheet S of housing 10 for a radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure is provided. As shown in the diagram on the right side of Fig. 13, air pressure adjustment sheet S of housing 10 for a radio wave control plate according to the present disclosure is inserted into hole H for the air pressure adjustment sheet provided on the outer periphery of first housing member 21.
[0034] Next, the contact state between the air pressure adjusting sheet S according to the present disclosure and the first housing member 21 will be described with reference to FIG. 14. FIG. 14 is a diagram showing the position of the B-B cross section of the first housing member according to the present disclosure, and the B-B cross section. The diagram shown on the left side of FIG. 14 is a diagram showing the position of the B-B cross section of the first housing member 21 according to the present disclosure. As shown in the diagram on the left side of FIG. 14, the B-B cross section of the first housing member 21 according to the present disclosure is a cross section taken perpendicular to the outer periphery of the first housing member 21.
[0035] The diagram on the right side of FIG. 14 is a cross-sectional view of the first housing member 21 taken along line B-B of the present disclosure. As shown in the diagram on the right side of FIG. 14, the air pressure adjustment sheet S according to the present disclosure is inserted into the hole H for the air pressure adjustment sheet in the first housing member 21 and is in contact with the first housing member 21. As shown in FIG. 14, the first housing 20 is airtight with the gasket 9 provided between the first housing member 21 and the first housing member 22. When a temperature change occurs, the air pressure inside the first housing 20 changes. Therefore, by providing the air pressure adjustment sheet S, when the air pressure inside the first housing 20 increases, high-pressure air is released from the inside of the first housing 20 through the air pressure adjustment sheet S, thereby adjusting the air pressure inside the first housing 20. This reduces deformation of the housing 10 due to changes in air pressure inside the first housing 20, even when a temperature change occurs. Note that when the air pressure inside the first housing 20 decreases, air flows in through the air pressure adjustment sheet S, adjusting the air pressure inside the first housing 20.
