Abstract

The utility model relates to agriculture and can be used for seasonal subsurface irrigation of trees, primarily in areas with sandy loam and sandy soils under conditions of extremely high temperatures and water shortages. The subsurface irrigation device, which includes a tank and a protective screen, according to the utility model, features a tank mounted in a permeable casing with a layer of black soil at the bottom. The tank, within the casing, is mounted on a waterproof protective screen made of bentonite or clay. The tank has a tube at the bottom for delivering water to the plant's rhizome. The top of the tank is equipped with a protective ring made of porous concrete, painted a reflective color. A light indicator connected to a float is installed in the neck of the tank. The device is equipped with a synthetic fabric cord placed in a tube to deliver water to the plant's rhizome for capillary irrigation. The cord's outlet end is connected to a geotextile skirt located around the rhizome. This subsurface irrigation device provides the required irrigation rate in sandy and sandy loam soils, maximizing the use of irrigation water for the irrigated tree's root system.
